Rules

• You may try to catch a pokemon 3 times per day.
• Extra bait may be rewarded in the main thread. If you win one, you will be able to try again for the day. You may also give your extra bait away.
• Do not delete posts for any reason. If you forget to randomize, or put the wrong thing in, just make another post. We can check whether posts are deleted. You will be banned from the game if this happens!


Catching a Pokemon

• Match the number on the Pokemon above to snag that Pokemon!
• Once you snag a Pokemon on your line, you have the option of keeping it, or throwing it back in the lake.
• If you choose to keep it, you'll have to catch it first! Engage it in battle by rolling THREE 6-sided dice. If ANY come up as a 6, you have been KO'd, and the Pokemon gets away!

Arissa made her way to the lake to find out more about the fishing contest. She'd never done ice fishing before, or any fishing at all, for that matter, but it looked simple enough. She borrowed one of the offered rods and listened to an explanation before making her way to a hole that had been cut in the ice. Once she made extra sure that Ronen was tucked securely in his sling and couldn't slip out into the water, she knelt by the hole and cast her line in.

Pulling one of the Good Rods out of the holder, Lennyka approached the bank of the lake with determination. "The last time we went fishing was when I was a kid, remember Daffodil?" Lennyka asked her companion. Raichu dipped her head in affirmation. "This feels so nostalgic. Let's hope we catch a big one!"

"Rai!" Daffodil cheered right along with her.

Hooking a bit of bait onto the line, Lennyka took a few steps back and cast the line out onto the ebb and flow of the lake. The two concentrated the bob awaiting the moment when it'd be pulled under.

Daffodil raised slowly in astonishment to what she saw. Stretching a paw out to the bob, she cried, "Rai!"

"Huh?" Lennyka blinked as she followed the direction of Daffodil's limb to the sphere. "W-What in the- Something's on the line!" With all of the might she had, Lennyka suddenly pulled on the rod and reeled. Yet, whatever was on the end was putting up an arduous effort not to lose its sudden tug-of-war. "M-Man, it won't give!" the off-duty Rocket agent huffed. "C'moon! C'mon!"

"Rai, rai!" Daffodil cheered next to her. She was positive Lennyka could do it.

Unfortunately, Lennyka was losing on her side of the battle. Her fallow boots grazed the edges of the bank because whatever was within the depths of the lake was just not coming up for air. Gritting her teeth in one last ditch effort, Lennyka used all of her strength to pull. Her attempt rebounded on her and her enemy pulled her into the lake. With a heavy splash, she landed into the freezing, shallow bank. Daffodil's black eyes widened and she rushed up to the water. Grabbing Lennyka's heel still sticking out of the water, she pulled, and managed to drag the woman back on land.

Sputtering with a shiver, Lennyka huffed. "Arceus..." she sighed. Looking to Daffodil, she said, "Whatever that was sure put up a battle!"

Daffodil blinked to her, but not because of her trainer's word. For some reason, the Rocket's hair had gone from blond to teal. Her wig had fallen off! "Rai..." the Raichu warned her, waving her warms. "Rai, rai...!"

But the Rocket did not understand the rodent's words. "Heh, thanks Daffodil," she said to the Raichu, guessing that she was trying to comfort her. "But I think I caught it, look!" Standing up, she pulled the line up from the water and held it to the Raichu. But when she saw what it was, she frowned.

"A stick?" she blinked. "Are you telling me I was fighting with a stick?" Grumpily, the Rocket thrust the Good Rod to the snow at her feet. "Ugh!" she screeched. Turning to the Raichu, she said, "No more of this... Let's go back to the cabin, I need to dry off..."

[Exit to the cabin.]

Lex "I caught something!" He peers at the Carvanha and considers Ran. "Ehhh... Nope. " He cuts the pokemon free. The Carvanha can have the bait. "Lets try this again."

Alexa and Farvardin reached the lake quickly enough. She smiled at the lady handing out the Good Rods when she was offered one. "Thank you." She said heading out onto the ice. She laughed when Farvardin ran out and immediately began sliding around. The Houndoom nearly dunked her head into a hole. "Guess we'll use this one." Alexa said giving her pokemon a pat on the head. She then cast her rod and waited for a bite.

Alexa checked her rod again after not getting a bite. She still had bait but it was barely hanging on. Right before she went to hook it on better it fell off. With a sigh she put on the last bit of bait she had.

Still not getting anything she decided it was time to go check out the sled races. "Alright Farvardin. Let's go check out the races. Maybe we'll have better luck there."
