The powers that animals develop are similar but not quite the same as humans. This is due to brain structure. These are PSI powers that may manifest in animals. They will be shown on the pet cert when acquired, but pets do not grow or change. Below are a list of descriptions, upgrades, and directions of use for each individual ability.



RULES

    Powers must always be rolled prior to use in roleplay.
    Your animal may have their powers work without their consent but you still need to roll for it to happen.
    In Training, you must roll in the specific thread for staff records.
    Animals may only have two powers total.
    All animals are allowed one kinesis.

TELEPATHY

The ability to read another's mind or speak through thoughts.

The user is able to read unblocked surface thoughts broadcast from a single animal or human. They may also communicate back and forth in perfect speech through call and response if the human has animal telepathy. Whether because of this ability, or that we generally underestimate animal intelligence, all animals with telepathy clearly understand human speech and may respond mentally. This allows for proper communication even with humans that do not have animal telepathy, as they are able to broadcast their own thoughts out in response.



TO USE

    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success
    Recipient may choose to block the attempt by rolling the same RNG.

PSI-BLAST

Generate a laser blast of mental energy.

Have you ever seen an animal glare so intensely you thought it might shoot lasers out of its eyes? Well, this is more from its forehead, but it's the same basic concept. Using the raw psychic energy built up in daily life, animals are able to concentrate it, focus it, and release it in the form of a damaging psychic blast! With careful aiming, your pet can lock onto a target and hit with sniper accurate precision!



TO USE

    Have required ammo
    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success, to hit the target.
    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success, to lock onto the target and ensure damage.



UPGRADES

    Ricochet
    Chain a PSI-Blast to bounce off of and hit three different targets!
    no rng
    Targets will be hit automatically.

LEVITATION

User Image
The ability to float, hover, and jump longer distances.

Levitation requires a certain level of trust in one's self. Unlike humans, animals don't the proper handling to utilize a thought bubble in the same way. As such, levitation visually presents itself differently between them. While floating, animals are merely observed to have a visible aura around their bodies rather than the presence of a thought bubble. They may still conjure one to roll over hazards, like a lil circus animal, and they may use it to bounce or jump higher. As animal auras do not have a contrasting color, their thought bubbles do not have rings.



TO USE

    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success to perform any action.
    Will be popped if attacked.

SHIELD

User Image
Generate a protective shield against attacks.

Your pet can surround themselves with a cage of wiring energy to protect you from oncoming attacks. For a limited time, pets can shield themselves from all damage and even reflect back energy attacks, such as lasers or PSI-Blasts, to damage foes instead! The shield takes a large amount of energy to sustain and will break after a short time, or if they become distracted.



TO USE

    No RNG to generate if fully charged.
    Effect lasts for 1 post.
    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success, if recharging.
    Requires 4 posts to fully recharge.
    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success, to break a shield's concentration.



UPGRADES

    Knock Back
    Enemies attempting to touch or attack your shield will be thrown away from you.

INVISIBILITY

User Image
Cloak ones self from view and hide from sight.

Alter the perception of those around you by becoming invisible! This is not possible if an individual was already aware of your presence, so be mindful to stay out of sight even before using this ability. It runs on a limited time frame, so you have to be quick with whatever you're doing, and takes a good deal of energy to use, so you'll need to rest before performing this feat again. If your concentration is broken, you are attacked, or you attack someone, your invisibility will wear off and they will become aware of you!



TO USE

    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success, to check if you're being watched.
    Effects last for 2 posts.
    Must recharge for 4 posts before using again.

CONFUSION

User Image
Generates a cloud of gas from a grenade that alter's a target's behavior.

Conjure a giant green question mark floating over your head and lob the dot at your enemies. Watch it explode in a cloud of gas and see them stumble in a confused stupor. This ability requires ammunition to use, which is much harder to come by than the raw aggression needed for a PSI-Blast; use this power sparingly. Animals with this ability may throw one confusion grenade at a time, resulting in a small area of effect. It is useful for breaking an enemy's concentration, confusing their thoughts, or temporarily altering their personality. The effects cannot be broken once they have begun but they last only for a short time.



TO USE

    Have required ammo.
    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success, of the target falling into the area of effect.
    RNG for each individual you are aiming at.
    Effects last for one post.

PSYCHOMETRY

Sense the aura trails someone leaves on an object.

Ever find a lost item and wish you could return it directly to its owner? With psychometry, you can do exactly that! By concentrating on an object, a psychic with this ability may sense the aura of whoever most recently touched it. The aura clinging to the item is much weaker than that of the individual, which means only the color can be noticed. Gosh, this would probably be a lot more helpful if you saw color like humans, wouldn't it?



TO USE

    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success



UPGRADES

    Tracking
    Hone in on a single aura and follow its trail straight to its owner. Especially helpful if the owner is lost, themselves!

EMPATHY

User Image
Sense and feel another person or creature's emotions.

Often, humans hide behind a wall of false emotion; a mask to keep themselves safe from outside judgments and perception. With this ability, you can chip away at their fake presentation and sense how someone really feels. Animals have a natural knack for this, which allows them to both sense or feel a human or other animal's emotion right from the start. One at a time, of course; wouldn't want to overload yourself. Empathy allows you to get a sense of how someone is really feeling by tapping into their basest, simplest emotions: happiness, sadness, and anger. Of course, sometimes some people just feel neutral, and that's okay.



TO USE

    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success for sensing OR feeling.
    Recipient may RNG 1-2 in exchange to try and block the attempt.

INTUITION

Sensing truth or accuracy.

Animals work off of intuition naturally all their lives; it's called instinct. As such, imagine just how powerful an animal with super charged instincts could be! Concentrate all of your attention on a single person and the potential facts just come pouring right out. Of course, they are approximate. They'll also be able to get "vibes" off of people; gut feelings are incredibly strong with this ability and, thanks to those animal instincts, they're often correct!



TO USE

    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success
    Upon success, player may utilize one piece of information the animal would not ordinarily be aware of. Recommend to hone in on something specific and ask the other player.
    Even if you know the fact, or the player gives you a straight answer, fudge it a little.



UPGRADES

    Sense Motive
    Animals are very intuitive no matter how you slice it. If your intentions are bad, they're sure to pick up on it. With this ability, an animal can tell whether someone (or something) means to cause harm.

HYPNOSIS

Confound a person's mind.

Many animals have a natural defense mechanism that can confuse or put other creatures into a trance long enough for them to make a clean get away. This power takes the same basic concept and amplifies it! With hypnotism, an animal may blank a target's mind for a short time. When their awareness returns, they won't remember a thing!



TO USE

    RNG 1-2, 1 = failure, 2 = success
    Lasts 1 post.
    Recipient may RNG 1-2 in exchange to try and block the attempt.
    No recharge time.

Animals also have access to all known types of kinetics! They can move objects, set things ablaze, freeze or douse things in water, move the earth, control plants, generate electricity, manipulate magnetic fields, conjure light, and puppeteer shadows. How dangerous! Their uses of them compared to humans seems to be more limited; they don't have access to any upgrades and can only target one thing at a time.



TO USE

    Varies.
