A decent amount of time had passed since the last time he had powered up and gone out. Juggling homework and then finals with being a Captain in the ever growing Negaverse was harder than he had expected, but he had asked for it and he wasn't going to turn his back on the strength that he'd been given. He wasn't certain what the night would bring at this point but he was ready for it, starting on the rooftop of his apartment building before making his way to one of the less populated areas of town. He was certain to find an old wooden fence there that he could practice throwing his cards at without worry that he might damage anything too close to home.

Opal hadn't seen Richterite since the Carnival. Indeed, she hadn't seen many of her Negaverse brethren since then more or less on purpose, except for Zinkenite and only because he was the one that corrupted her. She respected him and liked him. He didn't try to force her to be anyone she was not. And now that her lover was a Lieutenant as well pretty much all was right with the world.
When she was out she hunted in poor sections of town and sometimes around her bar to keep the unsavory element away. She had pride in what she owned and if she had her way she'd make sure the entire block was Negaverse owned and operated before the year was out.
It wasn't hard to make out Richterite's power signature. She'd only met him once but felt she recognized it. Coming close she smiled in a cat with cream sort of way.
"Oh Captain, my captain." she purred.

There was a thunk as one of his cards hit a slat of wood followed by the sound of his boots against the tightly packed dirt of the empty lot as he stepped forward to retrieve the projectiles the old fashioned way as opposed to summoning them back as he might have when they were but Magic cards. He paused as another set of footsteps joined his own, flicking another card into his grasp and ready to let it fly until... A smirk curved the corners of his mouth at the sound of her voice and he turned to glance over his shoulder. "Well, well... Must be my lucky night. How are you doing this evening, Lieutenant? Long time no see."

"Indeed it is. I'd almost thought you disappeared."
She'd lost track of him during the carnival siege, too, but that was for a different reason. She'd been fighting a do-gooder senshi and still couldn't forget the feel of that senshi's starseed in her hand. It was that act that started the bloodlust and she couldn't very well abandon it now. Anyway, Opal was determined to climb through the ranks of the Negaverse to make Zinkenite proud.
"I've been fine. Things have been sort of dull around here. So many stupid rules to obey."
She shrugged, looking at the card sunk into the wood. That looked like an interesting toy to play with, much better than her own meager lock. She made an approving sound and leaned against the fence he'd been practicing on.
"How have you been, Captain? For that matter where have you been?"

"Don't tell me you've missed me, darling." The young man flashed her a grin as he wiggled the card free from the indentation that it had left, stepping back as he shuffled it back in amongst the others. The cards were definitely a little bit more impressive than they had been, but they didn't carry a lot of weight to them and were still more likely to just be an annoyance than anything else. "I've been trying to keep up appearances while collecting information here and there. It's a dull job, but someone has to do it." He vanished the cards for a moment before summoning them back, the new trick he'd picked up as bladed cards were a bit harder to shuffle.

"Missed you?"
Destiny sounded amused. Didn't he realize he was a good ten years younger than she was, at least? He couldn't be flirting with her, could he? She cocked an eyebrow at him and wondered for a few moments before shaking it off. She didn't play for what was considered the usual team. Her own girlfriend was a lieutenant, same as she. It was so complicated sometimes with having her girlfriend as a business partner, live in lover, and partner in the Negaverse.
Of course, he wasn't on the list. That spot was reserved for one man only and he simply wasn't it. She could play along, though, and did with a smile on her lips.
"Say I did. Say I missed you, Captain. What would you do then?"

"I might start questioning what kind of sanity you had in that pretty little head of yours." His grin faded into a slight smirk as he took a few steps away from the fence. "Not that I'm not the dashing sort that ladies and gents tend to miss alike, but rebels shouldn't miss authority, should they?" Not that he was really much 'authority' either. He certainly wasn't trying to be a commanding presence at the moment, despite being of a higher rank. It was easier to converse on the same level; more comfortable, which meant that words were more likely to flow. "I might not blame you, though. These tights do a lot to flatter my legs and I've been told, once or twice, that I've got a nice a**." A glint of mischief flickered across his face at that.

Opal chuckled. She hadn't gone quite -that- insane.
"Well, it's a good thing I didn't miss you, then. I'd hate to have my sanity questioned."
As he went on his words brought more of a smile to her lips, amusing her deeply. As he made claims about his a** she made a show of checking, lifting a sculpted eyebrow as she did. He looked legal so surely there was no harm in checking. Even if he wasn't she was still only looking and not really disposed to his sex. She certainly wasn't militant to the point of being grossed out by male anatomy or anything. She was, by nature, a lover of art. Being attracted to it and being repulsed by it were two different things.
"Not bad," she agreed finally. "My girlfriend's is better."
So at least he didn't harbor any illusions.

"Just my luck..." He laughed, shaking his head slowly. "Then again, can't day the guy I was seeing would be any too pleased to know I was seeing someone else without him." Not that he knew how that relationship was going anyways. They still wrote to one another from time to time, but the distance was making things difficult. "How have you been? Staying out of trouble, I hope?"

"Never!" She confirmed. "Trouble is one of the best parts of this job!"
Though when given to her own Opal tended to be a bit more malicious than mischievous. She grinned at his own admission and took a shine to her young Captain. He was kind of adorable in the same way a puppy charms you though she didn't think he'd like the comparison if she made it aloud.
"Seeing a guy, are you? I'm sure many women are disappointed."
Not her, of course. The only man she'd ever been attracted to in any sort of romantic or sexual way was a fictional character and though she had her girlfriend's blessing to pursue that if it came up they both knew it never would for many, many reasons.
"Are you just interested in men?"
She was always curious about people that showed same sex tendencies, like herself.

"Was. Still might be. It's... complicated, honestly." His brow furrowed and he took that moment to pause, letting his metal cards slide together in an idle shuffle before drawing one to aim at the fence again. "I think that some of the Destiny City weird got too weird for him; applied to a college in another town, got in and got out of here. We write one another, but..." It wasn't the same. He didn't linger on that, however, knowing it would just lead him into a darkness he didn't need to revisit right now. He snorted, shaking his head as he drew and threw another card. "Totally a heartbreaker, though. Lots of ladies were very disappointed." He flashed Opal a broad, teasing grin. "I have dated girls before. Last two romantic interests have been male, however. One, admittedly, was a stupid crush. What about you? Girlfriend, huh?"

"She's the one," she confirmed.
The one, and had been ever since the day they met. Karma was everything Destiny never knew she wanted and she hadn't wasted time on a second thought once they got together. Sometime very soon she was going to ask her to be her wife. She just needed to resolve these issues with her and the Negaverse in their relationship first.
It was about time they married.
"I'm sorry it didn't work out. They wouldn't call them crushes if they couldn't kill."
Her best friend told her that when she was a girl and she believed it. She tried to avoid them when she could. Thankfully, that was usually no longer and issue.
"We should go cause some trouble, Captain, for old time's sake."
And, personally, it would help her blow off a little steam.

"Sounds like a fine plan to me, Lady Opal. Everything's been much too quiet lately. I could go for a little old fashioned trouble." He flashed her a grin, putting his cards away after returning them all to his hand in order to make traveling easier. "Where shall we go? Do we find a crowd to stir up? Say... There aren't any carnivals in town right now, are there?" He teased.

"Just the one I know of, but it might be too soon to lay that to ruin again."
The Carnival had not some through their attack unscathed. Indeed, she walked by there when she needed a pick me up, chuckling at the thought of the owner trying to rebuild after their party. It was a source of mischievous joy. The lieutenant smiled, her eyes flashing with a pleasant light.
"I'm sure there's a group not too far from here that we can torment. After you, Captain."

"Mm... Mall, movie theater or the arts district?" His brow lofted as he posed the question to her before springing to the ladder leading up to the rooftops. He could get his bearings from there and they could either traverse the town together by foot or, depending on how far they were from the choice she made. He waited for her answer before snagging her by the wrist, holding on to her as he teleported them to their next destination. Sure, it would take a little bit to recover some of the energy lost in doing so, but they had the whole night ahead of them. A whole night of fun. ZaiaFantasy Going to call this one a wrap for the two of us. If you'd like to chat at some point about what kind of trouble they might have gotten up to for memory purposes just hit me up through PM! Richterite, alas, will not be remembering any of it soon. /terrible <33
