Cherry stepped out of the club door onto the sidewalk. She had stayed longer and had maybe one or two too many drinks than planned. Still, she wasn't really drunk. She was possibly a little tipsy, but she was plenty in control of her senses. Her thoughts were maybe not straight, but they weren't shitfaced either. There were somewhere in the middle, and she was all right with that. She was trying to get her coat back on. What effects her drinks had on her, they seemed to manifest themselves in her inability to get her jacket back on before her arms froze to death seeing as how it was still the middle of winter.

She had finally got it back on and staggered a few steps getting it on right. She dusted off her skirt on both the front and back. Dang. It was colder than she thought. Probably, she was cold due to one of her favorite less is more clubbing outfits. Rather than be stupid and stubborn, she decided instead of trotting off just yet. She leaned against the building to rub her hands together and center herself on her feet.

Then, some movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. Someone practically falling out the door onto the sidewalk. Immediately, she moved to go help.

That someone that came tumbling out the door was the confectioner and co-owner of Sugar Shanty, one named Richard Moreau, and whereas Cherry showed amazing restraint in how many drinks she allowed herself, he simply did not. Normally he'd get himself to the point of being buzzed but still completely capable of moving himself about without looking like a damned fool, but today, he was afraid to admit that he might have done just a teeniest, tiniest bit overboard. Not that he didn't have a good reason to, though- if anyone asked him 'Why are you drinking so heavily, Richard ol' boy?', he'd be happy to indulge them on the story of his life.

No, not story. Tragedy. Because really, wasn't that his life in a nutshell? One, big, messed up tragedy? It certainly felt that way!

He wasn't sure how many drinks he downed and the only reason why he stopped was because apparently he said something that might have been seen as 'inappropriate' to one of the bartenders. And by 'said' it was more like 'he grabbed him' and by 'inappropriate' it was more like 'he kissed the every living hell out of him'. Nothing that Richard regretted- if the situation played out again, he'd gladly jump at the chance again and then some. And by 'then some', he meant-

Suddenly he was tumbling out of the bar and he wasn't sure how he managed to make it from it from the stool he was barely balancing himself on to the door, but he highly suspected it had something to do with that burly bouncer that tried to touch his jewels earlier in the night. Now, he found himself on the ground outside of the establishment, and Richard found himself shouting at the door that slammed shut behind him, not once noticing he had attracted some attention as he bellowed. "HOW RUDE! I was told this was the best gay bar in town! LIARS!"

He was drunk, he was slurring and it was likely that his southern drawl was present, but he didn't care! And why should he care, as he caught sight of a rather fancy beauty approaching him? Immediately, his demeanor changed and his smile was friendly. "Hey there..."

Her blue eyes had caught every second of his stumbling out on the sidewalk. As she had drawn closer, she caught his exclamation to the door. Gay bar huh? She smirked. There had been a few gay guys in the past she had attempted to seduce every now and then. Of course, they were both mostly just for a lark. It was just a test to see if she could. Fun times.

Her eyes swept over his rich red hair. Her favorite shade of red. Rich and saturated as the filling in a cherry pie. Well, filling that was well made anyways. Though his eyes appeared quite drunk, they were also rather red. Well, she wouldn't bother playing at seducing this one. There just wasn't any fun or victory in tricking a man when he was plastered out of all sense. She wanted the credit for a successful conquest to be her beauty and sexiness. Because he could just barely stand up straight? Not good enough.

"Hey yourself." She shot him a flirtatious wink anyways. "You ok? You looked like one false step, and your face would have been kissing the pavement. I was going to help you out."

Then, once she was closer, her eyes again indulged in the just right shade of red in his eyes and hair. "Do you need a shoulder? Or, a helping hand even if you've somehow managed to stay standing up?"

The aroma of liquor was wafting off of him. She could totally just leave this alone and go home now. If she stuck around, he could still end up going home with her. It wasn't as if she hadn't ever taken some random person home after a night at the bar. Still, when they were too drunk, they ended up having hangovers. Then, they were still at her house come breakfast. There too long. Having happy morning afters with someone just wasn't her style.

She should totally just leave this alone and go home now. Tsch. That'd be terribly boring though; wouldn't it?

That flirtatious wink would not go unnoticed, even when there was gratuitous amounts of alcohol flowing through his blood stream, and if anything, that only made him a million times more interested in the lovely young lady that made her approach. His smile deepened, though there was no amount of smarm or charm he could possess to chase away the dumb-drunk expression that interfered with his own sex appeal right now, but that was okay. This lady seemed nice, and if she was a serial killer, then at least she was definitely worth being stabbed over...

"Oh, I'm fine, I'm fine... fine fine fine," Richard said, waving off her concern with a lazy hand motion, nothing as elaborate or precise as he usually did. Even though he was completely piss-a** drunk, he still found a way to find what he perceived to be the best words for the situation. "If my face had to be kissin' anythin', darlin', I'd rather it be you. Much more satisfyin'..."

Oh yes, his Texan accent was slipping through. Many years of speech therapy and hard practice to mask it and it only took a couple of drinks to ruin all that hard work. But it didn't bother Richard. Not right now. Why worry about such a thing when there was this kind, sweet young woman offering him an assist?

"If you wouldn't mind? I'd hate to be a bother, but... uh, as y'can see, I think I'm kinda stuck 'ere..." Richard was a proud, proud man... but only when there wasn't so much alcohol in his system, and not to mention recent events reminded him of just how weak and frail of a man he had recently become. Or perhaps he was always this pathetic and it was only now that he had gained self awareness of this fact. Either way, he felt little shame as he sent her a pleading look. "Y'don't have to take me far... jus' drop me off at a bus stop, or somethin'... an' maybe call my ride... assuming my phone's not shattered under my posterior..."

Her eyes narrowed with a knowing, piercing stare at both his compliments and dismissal of his being 'fine'. Her eyes were soon coupled with a little smirk that continued to grow on her face. "Well, of course you'd rather kiss me. There are only two kinds of people who'd rather not be kissing me. The first are in denial, and the second are liars. Anyone who thinks they can kiss as good or better are clearly delusional."

This was said with enough vanity and ego mania to create its own aroma of intoxication. Maybe not of alcohol, but it was nearly enough to be considered under the influence of something. The more she went on; it was heavily saturated with purring and sense of how amazing she considered herself. There were plenty of people in the world who had low self esteem and constantly questioned their own value. Cherry was never ever ever one of those people. Ever.

Oh, ho ho... but hearing that accent slip. Her smirk quieted down as her eyes took on a more entertained dazzle to them. "You are definitely not a bother. I wouldn't have offered to help if I wasn't prepared to actually do it." Then, maybe it was some of the few drinks she had that nearly made her want to retort to his statement of how far she could take him. She had wanted to say at first that she could take him around the world and anywhere his mind could fathom. Then again, her idea of taking someone around didn't require moving very far usually.

Instead, she slinked up and moved herself, so she was positioned just under his shoulder. She wrapped his arm around her shoulder standing to his left. Then, as she started to walk him a little. She wasn't sure how long she actually anticipated walking him. She had stepped up to help on impulse really. She had no clear plan. While not being drunk, she was tipsy enough to not be able to formulate awesomely heroic plans of attack at the moment.

A shattered phone huh? "Dude, that'd totally suck if your phone's face was shattered. It's so hard to touch it right when it's all cracked and stuff. Or, so I've seen with people. Can't say I've ever broken mine."

With a subtle movement of her arm, her right hand slipped into each of his back pockets feeling for his phone.

Drunk as he was, some habits were just hard to keep down. The plastered confectionist liked what he was hearing from this lady and would not deny that he found a woman that held herself in high esteem to be pretty damn attractive in their own right. Even if their looks were subpar, there was just something about a woman with confidence that was appealing to Richard... luckily for this lady, she had the looks to go with that confidence. Or rather, luckily for him.

"Hm, decided I like you. Like you lots," Richard said, the curse of being this ridiculously drunk was that he was rather blunt about whatever was on his mind, and sometimes that worked in his favor. Other times, it ended miserably. Which would it be for him this evening? Only time would tell. He response to her question, he once again resorted to truth. "Well, miss... could be a mean lady. Had it happ'n before, I tell you what... said she'd give me a hand... left me high an' dry. Might have deserved it, though... so no hard feelin's... well, there were hard feelin's, but not in the way you're thinkin'."

Then, he added, with a wry smile. "Or maybe... ya are thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?"

But this confident woman was true to her word and sure enough she came to position herself beneath his shoulder, and all was well. He was completely compliant and surprisingly gentleman-like in the way that he didn't THINK to sneak a feel on her. Even if he could have masked it with being drunk, that would have just been too rude, even for him, and not to mention invoke her wrath and risk leaving him floundering on the ground. No, definitely wouldn't do him good to sneak a feel. So, for now, he'd keep his hands to himself.

After all, why do that when he could allow her to do all the touching? He knew exactly what was going on, and he allowed the subtle but definitely inviting touch to continue for a moment more, before suddenly remembering a key detail. "Oh... wait... left it at home! Silly me! No phone there..."

She just smiled and did her best to help move him forward without letting him slip. Of course, she was wearing heels, so this was done the best she should. Mean lady, huh? "I am only ever mean to those who want me to be. Cuz.. some people like that, ya know." Some people did like that, a lot. Maybe he didn't know? It was probably better not to explain, or expound any further on that. Liked her lots, huh? Well, that wasn't the first time she'd heard someone say that. If he were more sober, she might make entertainment for herself out of it.

Hard feelings huh? She giggled a little. Too funny. She caught his meaning, but it only showed in her smile at it. So many things could be said about that. Still, she didn't really know this person well enough to rib back and forth about his hard feelings. Though his asking if maybe she was thinking what he was thinking. "Some girls like hard feelins." Her smile deepened probably giving away that she had been thinking that. She was a dirty bird for sure; how was she supposed to not think that?

The lack of finding a phone in his pockets; she just glanced at up at him. "Hmmm... If I didn't know any better, I'd say I've just been had. Congratulations good sir. That doesn't happen very often. Probably because I had a few drinks myself tonight. Now, you've just had your bum felt up. Hope you enjoyed that."

She made a sound that was almost an amused laugh. It was muffled since it was more of a chuckle to herself. She then thought about how far she should take him. Should she leave him on a bus bench? Was that responsible? She didn't know him though. "How far do you live from here?" Maybe she could just.. drop him off at his residence? What if it was far though? "Do you have a ride? Or, were supposed to have one? Or, were you just gonna take a taxi home?"

She wasn't sure if she was doing a good job of keeping him up. To be sure, her arm that was circled around his waist tightened while making sure his arm over her shoulder was snug too. There. She wasn't dropping him. Though she wasn't sure what to do if he had a bad stagger. She'd probably end up going with him.

"Mean ladies... so long as they're pretty... can be mean t'me all they like..." Richard said, swaying and not at all trying to balance himself straight or make this easier for himself, or her. It wasn't that he didn't appreciate her willingness to help him out, but he simply wasn't ready to go home yet. And he was really that drunk at the moment. "What 'bout you? You like hard feelin's? Or... you one of 'em ones that like soft... and squishy? Not judgin'... I'm cool- I'm cool either way."

The feel of her hand on his backside was enough to rejuvenate his spirit, and for the first time in about a month, he smiled. Truly smiled. It hurt his face so much to smile... but it was worth it.

In retrospect, once the alcohol wore off and he survived the worst hang over he'd have in years, he might have regretted all of this. He would have regretted drinking so heavily this evening. He would have regretted leaving his phone at the apartment. He would have regretted hitting on those guys and getting thrown out before his drink was even finished. Would he have regretted tricking a nice lady into giving him a little butt rub? Maybe, but that'd be a problem for future Richard. The Richard of now was too giddy that his little scheme worked, and he couldn't help but cackle, loudly and proudly. "HA! Still got it! Woo!"

Then, he apologized, in fear that she would take it the wrong way and abandon him on the streets. He didn't want to be alone... not here, not drunk. Not without a phone or the will to transform... not that he could teleport himself in this condition anyway. "Aw, I'm sorry... I didn't mean it... jus'... been too long since I laughed, and MEANT it... y'know?"

Her questions pulled him out of his apologetic state, and he looked around at his surroundings, threatening to cause them both to topple over but somehow maintaining his balance as he pointed to the east. "Ov'r there... like... three blocks. Maybe. Not far, right? No ride, got blown up, along with my store. Was juss gonna walk. You okay with walk?"

He certainly hoped so. He couldn't walk there on his own... maybe the four lovely ladies that held him up could carry him home...

Cherry smiled deeply feeling enormously amused. "Oh really? They can, can they? Does that mean I'm pretty; and you want me to be mean to you?"

Gah. Stop talking. Did that sound like she was offering? Then again, mean wasn't usually her style. Bad, naughty.. sure. Mean, not so much. "Mmmm... Yes. I do suppose I do enjoy some hard feelin's. I thought the whole point of being mean to you was to help you show me those?"

She gave him a playful wink as she devilishly stuck the tip of her tongue out clenched between her teeth. When he cheered for himself, she could only laugh out loud. Then, she was quickly surprised by the apology.

"Awww... hey... don't be sorry! There's nothing wrong with obtaining some free a** grabs every now and then. Especially if you need it. Sounds like you need it. I wasn't offended at all."

She looked when he pointed. Hmm. That was actually not that far. Hearing his ride got blown up, her mouth openly gaped. Along with his store??? Color her impressed. "Wow. No wonder you need being felt up. I'd probably want more than that if someone blew up my car and my store. I mean.. if I had a store."

Well, she had every intention of taking care of him from the get go. She was already in the situation. She wasn't going to head home till it was done. Just like taking the time to bake a pie to perfection; she was willing to see this thing through that she had thrown herself into. Hearing his troubles, she felt more than a little moved to compassion.

Then again, compassion to her meant a lot of things. Hmm. Well, self rules could be negotiated. Exceptions might be made if he were to require ... more help to feel better. She wouldn't feel bad about that. That'd be doing something nice for someone right?

"I am TOTALLY ok with walking. Like I said before. I wouldn't have offered to help if I wasn't prepared to actually help you. I'll get you there. If we need to stop and take a break or whatever. That's ok too. I'm not in a hurry. I have to make sure you made it home in once piece."

Then again, with little persuasion, she could probably end up willing to do a lot more than walking. Or.. walking him home.

Richard cackled, shaking his head and all but flailing his arms around as he shook his head. "No... please, don't be m-mean... not sure if I can... can handle 'mean lady' today. I mean, LOOK AT ME..."

He looked down at himself, his choice of clothing wasn't once of the things he regretted about this evening but the physical state he was on. He couldn't stand straight. He slouched. He was so pathetically drunk that he found himself all but hanging on the beautiful woman like a mink coat! More like... a Richard Moreau mink coat. What was a mink, anyway? Ferret? Weasel? Richard was far too drunk to care... could have been a breed of cat for all he knew! They were coming up with a million of those wretched things every day...

Sadly, he missed her wink, though if he had seen it, it may have just made matters all the more awkward for the two. He was happy that she didn't immediately take offense to the a** grab trick, though what was a single a** grab in the grand scheme of things? It didn't change the fact that he was completely drunk off his a**, nor that he'd have a funeral to attend in a few days. Only made him feel like a pervert that was completely drunk off his a**. Still, good to know that she didn't take offense to it. It was something.
"Aw... I appreciate your sym...symphony... no, SYMPATHY... but they can be replaced. I guess, if I -really- wanted them," Richard said, flashing her a more genuine smile as the two of them began their awkward, wobbly drunk trek to his condo. He never once thought about how this whole scenario could have looked as though he was using his recent life tragedies to prey upon the loving compassion of a woman, and had he known, he would have tried to keep such troubling matters to himself. Unfortunately, when one was as drunk as Richard was at this very moment, there was simply no filter between his brain and his mouth, as she'd soon find out. "Jus'... been rough. Lost my cousin, then my store and car, all on the same day. BOOM. Jus' like that... gettin' better, then... another death in the family. Never rains... but it pours, right? ******** it, I don't know th'sayin'... do you?"

She sighed with relief when they reached a bench. "Hey, do you mind if I prop you up against this for a minute? I just need to take a breath real quick. Dont' worry! I was just kidding about being mean. I mean.. if this were an entirely different situation... and you wanted it.. well.. that'd be a discussion for another time and place."

She just glanced at him earnestly. Poor guy! Sucks!! "Aw... hun. Don't worry. You wouldn't know this since you don't know me.. but some people close to me call me Cherry Pie. I'm very good at making people feel better."

She patiently listened to his lament about his troubles. Part of her disliked the idea of just dropping this guy on his doorstep to be left in current of grief. She didn't know him, so she didn't know if he'd be the type to use dangerous methods of comforting himself.

She slipped her arms under his and tightened them around his chest as she did the only thing she could think of at the moment to offer him quick comfort. "Hey, um... Is there anythign I can to do help you? I mean... besides make sure you make it home and not in an alley or trash can somewhere?"

While he appreciated her notion of asking to stop and take a breath, Richard found it rather silly. After all, he was ridiculously drunk and physically incapable of basic motor skills, so really he had no right to tell her 'no you can't take a break!' Still, she asked, and he'd gladly oblige. With her help, he made his way onto the bench, and he flashed her a drunk, but earnest smile as he leaned back into it. "Please, miss... take your time. I got... I got *hic* no where to be... an' don't ya worry none of that! Only messin' with ya."

Oh yes, his Texan accent was coming out strong and thick, and had he not been so painfully drunk he would have berated himself for letting it slip. He hated that accent, but his filter was simply broken and there was nothing to be done about that now.

"Cherry Pie, hm? Sounds delicious... name's Richard. Got 'nother name, but... heh, don't worry 'bout that." Richard knew better than let any of that information out, even with the heavy dose of alcohol impairing his systems that was just an accident waiting to happen. No, he learned his lesson from Jade... oh, Jade, poor Jade! The thought of ruining Cherry Pie's life was yet another thing he didn't need to his bleeding conscious, and he answered Cherry in earnest. "Gettin' me home's enough. I... couldn't ask anythin' else from you in this state... nothin' that I wouldn't regret later anyways."

Of course, random chivalry hit him when it was least expected! Sometimes he really, REALLY hated himself. "Got enough breath? Let's... *hic* get goin'... almost there."

Well, she had taken the breath she needed. She mustered herself to get back into motion. After she had gotten herself in a good position started to move him on again. She smiled shyly but without the vigor and dazzle her earlier ones had.

"Well... it's all good. Just so happens.. I like being messed with. As long as it doesn't require me needing to respond with kicking someone's a**. I really hate ruining good shoes over having to teach someone where they cross a line at. I really just don't care for fighting though if necessary."

That Texan accent? She loved stuff like that. She enjoyed minor qualities that distinguished people from everyone else. That made people especially interesting. It always made her wonder if there were other interesting distinguishing qualities she might want to inspect for further.

"Oh... Very delicious..." The look in her eye when she peeked out at him cast a rather perverted expression on her face. "Nice to meet you Richard. Don't worry. I won't hold it against you meeting you in this kind of state. Maybe I'm a special angel who saves drunk people on their way home." She listened to his attempts to make her feel like. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to feel like or take from that. Most of the guys she met were trying to convince her of reasons to do stuff for them and to them regardless of what regret would come later. This guy was totally attempting to do the opposite it seemed.

"Well, I can tell you right now. If you ever regretted anything you did with me ever. I'd probably hate your guts. I might even have to get some kind of sick revenge on you. Putting doing anything with me in the same mixing bowl as regrets? Please and no thank you. I understand though. Not everyone can stomach too much amazing. It's cool."

The very idea that someone thought they'd regret anything at all; she felt a little salty. With the booze in her system, she her previously cordial and genial manner was being beseiged with piss and vinegar. She'd possibly sulk all the way home. She'd smugly mutter to herself. In her own eyes, everything that happened with her was ******** amazeballs. Anyone who wasn't game enough to handle or it.. or ... ******** maybe regret it later? Sick. The very idea.. that made her want more drinks. She was stopping somewhere on her way home.

"Yes sir. Whatever you want. Cherry gives people only what they want after all." So a going they were. The sooner the better. She just wanted to be so much drunker right then than she was. She wasn't even close.

Richard chuckled. That’s all he could really muster for awhile, was a deep, lengthy, hearty chuckle. The type of chuckle that could easily escalate into a roar of laughter and then from there, erupt into soul-wrenching sobs, and somehow, he was able to stifle it before it got to the howling laughter part. Though he was s**t-faced drunk, he had to maintain some composure, he told himself. No woman liked a complete, slobbering mess. Well, maybe some did and got a kick out of it, but there was also the fear that she’d find it absolutely disgusting or perhaps too blatant a cry for help, which could easily morph into a very justified fear of becoming a serial killers next victim. Not that Richard had any intention on transforming and committing to such an act… that required strength and effort, and he lacked both right now.

“Hm, smart woman… fighting is so… exhausting, an’ you get hurt… not fun… well, ‘less you’re winnin’, then absolutely WORTH it!” Richard said with a slur, trying his best to help her along and not be too much of a burden. He could ‘trip and fall’ and grab her breasts for leverage, but somehow the thought of deceiving her twice in an evening made him weary. Eventually that’d lose his charm… or would it? He wasn’t thinking straight. That hurt. “An angel? D’aw… can I fondle your-*hic* wings? I bet they’re so… fluffy…”

Sweet Cherry went on about regrets and kicking his butt if he had any, and immediately he realized that there was some tart to that Cherry. A tart he found himself growing to like, even in his drunken state. He liked a woman with sass, a woman with confidence. And she had such a wonderful way with words. Mixing bowl? He’d like to have whatever she was having, and a smile crept onto his face as they closed in on his complex. “Well, Angel Cherry… I’m on th’second floor, so… got to take the elevator. I apologize in advance, but… the music sucks.”

He reached into his pocket and simply handed her his keys, something that was ill advised when as drunk as him. She could have grabbed them and taken off with him- not that she’d get much. Just his apartment. No fancy car or nothing… “Here. Trust ya with ‘em… apartment number on back.”

The laugh, well she listened. She listened intently. There was so much emotional inflection in that laugh. Tasting all the rich ingredients in it, the fleeting moment of compassion began to make her feel a little more like she'd be going home with guilt if she just dropped him off at his doorstep. Obviously, he was a grown man, but she could plainly see there was much that wasn't right in his life.

"Well the thing about fighting is; there's more than one way to do it. Not all righting requires busting your knuckles in someone's eye. Malice can take so many forms. You're so right though. I bet it is more satisfying when you're winning." Cherry liked nothing if not a little satisfaction. Whether it was her promiscuous conquests or her warm and delicious escapades in her kitchen; satisfaction remained her usual actual target in the end. It was what she wanted. She wanted other people to find their satisfaction in her almost as much as she wanted it for herself.

"Well, I could let you do that sure. What happens when one touch isn't enough though?" She was pretty damn certain and unbelievably confident that noone could just touch once or a light touch without needing more. She never had much blame for others in that way. Her conviction of how amazing she was translated over into other's need to indulge in her with reckless abandon. Or, she perceived it all that way in any case.

She took his keys and stuck them in folds of the top of her clubbing blouse. As she manuvered him into the elevator, she dipped and moved in front of him wrapping his arms around her shoulders as she went to press a button while attempting to not let him fall at the same time. Bussing tables and multi tasking at the coffee house seemed like nothing next to this little task.

Her mind as the elevator doors closed; it began flipping through ways to make someone feel better. Like flipping through a rolodex of recipe cards. Then, she chewed the inside of her bottom lip. "Don't worry, cowboy. I got ya."
