This year sweet apple acres is hosting its very own hearts and hooves hullabaloo. Bring your special-some-pony, or for the solo mares and stallions maybe cupids arrow will strike tonight? Love is in the air!
Applejack announced her big brother's idea to host a gathering for hearts and hooves day, though she wasn't sure what prompted it, Applebloom seems to be ecstatic about the idea. Pinkie pie added some of her flare to the party as well.
The get together will be about an hour before sunset right by the barn. The layout holds festive reds and pinks, tables are set out with heart shaped carrots. and candied apples straight from granny smith's well inspected stock covered with marshmallows and caramel. Heart shaped balloons are on every table end. There's also fresh pies, and other cute holiday themed food items, someponies are even bringing their own to add.
For activities there's a beanbag shaped heart, where the little colts and fillies can play "catch my heart" with one another, and plenty of space to run around and romp. For the older crowd there's a box settled right at the entry way labled "secret admirer" where you can put in anonymous cards for anypony, romantic or friendly or even a sweet message to a stranger! They must be anonymous! But you can choose to reveal yourself at the end if you so wish.
Then fellow special someponies may seat themselves for a quick game of "How well do you know your mare" where they will be asked to answer funny questions and see if the answers match up between mare and stallion. For the solo ponies out there, there's speed dating, or areas to mingle and talk.
If you're just hear for funsies well, grab a bite to eat and wait because there's a good old fashion hoedown at this hullabaloo so quick grab a partner dosey doe!
Watch out for pinkiepie's sucker-tipped arrows. It seems this year she's decided to be cupid himself, and surely she'll throw a few arrows at somepony.

Forest Frolic was so excited! Hearts and Hooves day was possibly her favorite holiday of the entire year, and that was saying something! Though the filly loved festivals and celebrations of all kinds, she liked to think of herself as a true romantic and this day was a day to express that best.
She hadn't come empty-hooved to Sweet Apple Acres, though; not a chance. Forest had picked a great deal of wild flowers and berries from the Everfree Forest (but of course had made sure they were all of a safe variety). Having gathered them in a large basket, she brought them all in a few trips to the party a little earlier than sunset when everything was supposed to start. The fact that it was at Sweet Apple Acres only added to her joy. Apples happened to be her favorite fruit and there weren't many normal ones around where she lived.
Daisies, daffodils, carnations, calla lilies, spider lilies, tiger lilies, Easter lilies, lily-of-the-valley, blue bells, snow bells, hyacinths, delphinium, snapdragons, babies-breath, bachelor-buttons, irises, fushia, lavender, lilacs, and marigolds were all among the blossoms that Forest had brought. The most in number and variety, however, were the roses. Red ones, pink ones, white ones, yellow, orange, purple - even blue and green ones! Dog roses, primroses, rose buds, and roses in full bloom; you name it. Forest planned to pass around a few (for she loved to play match-maker), but the majority of flowers were set out for anyone to take. She hoped the Apple family wouldn't mind, but she could have moved or removed them if needed.
Pleased with her work, Forest Frolic tucked a small, single white rose behind one ear before heading over to the table with the candied apples. Her mouth was already watering and there didn't seem like much else to do while waiting for the rest of the guests to arrive.

Ponyville was a favorite spot of Globe Trotter. She made frequent stops in the quaint little town and it never failed to entertain her. Everyone that lived here was so friendly and welcoming! That, and there was a wide variety of ponies without the hustle and bustle of the big cities. As much as she loved visiting places like Manehattan and Fillydelphia, homey places like Ponyville always made her feel happy and welcomed.
She had just spent a few days in her hometown of Cloudsdale to visit her parents and was on her way to Appleloosa when the sights and sounds of festivities caught her eye. She loved a good party as much as the next pony and, given the location, she figured all would be welcome.
With a quick dip of her wings, she dove down towards the large red barn and landed lightly in the midst of the tables holding some delicious looking goodies. A little adjustment of her satchel and she was off, trotting around to get an eyeful of everything.
"Wow...those flowers are beautiful!" she exclaimed as she paused by one of the tables that held what seemed to be hundreds of flowers and different plant life. She leaned in to get a whiff, humming softly at the mix of scents.

Morning Dew
It had turned out to be a beautiful day for traveling. It was warm, and a calm breeze wafted through the air. Morning Dew was accustomed to a life on the road, and used days like this to his advantage whenever he could... or nights for that matter. His eyes did not function, which forced him to rely on magic for a substitute form of vision. along with his other senses. But day and night held little relevance to the young stallion as he wandered about Equestria, using his powers to help wherever he could. Rumors of the "Miracle Pomy" who could heal any affliction trailed Morning Dew, but he could never stay in the same place for long. He was always serene and happy to help those in need, but he also knew that somepony might wish to exploit him for them. Already he was wary with the royal guards in the wake of an incident where he was exhausted.
It seemed the winds had brought him to Ponyville. Morning Dew tended to stay on the outskirts of Equestria, yet as a wanderer was constantly traveling to new places. He paid no heed when others judged him for his blindness or for his lifestyle. His father had advised him to travel the world and take in its wonders. And Morning Dew had taken it to heart. Even without true sight, he could appreciate the beauty of nature.
He stood on the outskirts of town, making his way through the apple orchards that stood in Sweet Apple Arces. He had not smelled apples this ripe since his visit to Appleoosa, uplifting the stallion's mood as he trotted along, nimbly weaving between trees with no difficulty at all. His magic gave him an idea of his surroundings, as well as anypony around him. At times like this, it was hard to noticed that he was even blind, aside from his glazed over eyes.
Morning Dew was merely traveling toward town, unaware that the farm he was passing through was hosting a party. But as he emerged from the fields he sensed a gathering of many ponies and the scent of flowers, and of course, fresh food. This was clearly some sort of festival. Was it Hearts and Hooves Day already? He had overheard some mares in the last town he visited gossiping about the upcoming holiday. This had to have been a celebration for that. The stallion smiled, not caring too much about romance, but a festival would give him the opportunity to unwind, and if there were any carnival games, impress just about anypony around him by landing a target without being able to see.
He followed the scent of flowers, trotting over to a table where they seemed to be laid about in a decorative fashion. He sniffed each one carefully, mumbling their names as his nose grazed them. "Daisy, daffodil, carnation, lily," he spoke quietly as he examined the flowers, recognizing them by scent alone. Morning dew had some knowledge of herbal remedies to complement his healing magic. Knowing which plants to mix to ease specific ailments was a useful skill, but he wasn't quite sure why they were all lain about. Could this have been a market stall? He could detect another pony nearby, a pegasus by her aura. Morning Dew faced her and spoke calmly. "How many bits for three sprigs of marigold and four mint leaves?"

"Okay, come on, Cobalt" muttered an orange unicorn within one of the many libraries in the Canterlot Palace. Considering the rest of the aisles of bookshelves were mainly void of other life, it was obvious he was speaking to himself. "Remember what Steel Shadow said: 'Visually project yourself in that location.' Simple enough for blinking, but long ranges...." the orange unicorn named Cobalt released an audible sigh before emitting a cobalt-colored glow from his horn. The glow grew brighter and brighter, before he himself disappeared in a bright flash of light. Second later, the same unicorn, whom was in possession of an upward curved horn and cloven hooves, and was adorned in an elegant-looking robe, reappeared on top of what looked to be the roof of a small wooden well, which was in clear view at the large farm near Ponyville. After a moment of confusion from himself and no doubt various onlookers, Cobalt eventually climbed down from the well unscathed. "Well, then. better than expected results, though still odd. Of all the damned places..." Cobalt spoke to himself again, as if taking mental notes. Another sigh escaped his lips before he finally peered around. Looked like he was in time for the festivities to start up.

Meadow Mists had been prepping for hearts and hooves day for some time now. While she was typically soft spoken or more often silent, she wasn't shy in the slightest.
Though she had nothing more to bring than a single warmly written hearts and hooves card, which she promptly delivered to the box for anypony to find. The letter held meticulous writing and very carefully placed stickers, each one adhering to a very specific red-pink-white color code. The card simply wished its recipient to have love fill their heart to the brim this holiday, and whether or not that love was romantic, platonic, or familial was entirely up to the reader.
She too was drawn to the array of flowers, letting her eyes wander over the gorgeous colors, and her nose be filled with the sweet aromas each presented. She helped herself to a lily-of-the-valley, leaving behind a few bits in its place. She wasn't sure if they were free gifts or for purchase, but it was either paid for, or a tip for the bearer of said flowers. She took a moment to tuck it into her mane, stuffing the stem where her hair was tied, and letting it dangle along with her looped ponytail.
From there she meandered over to the food table, taking a few bits of carrots so settle her otherwise empty stomach. She wanted to save the desserts for last, if they weren't all gone by the time she got there!
"come on hurry up big brother, we're going to miss the hearts and hooves hulla... um hulla..." Light firesaid as she galloped up ahead and waited for shadow to ketch up.
" hullabaloo that's how its pronounced, lil light, besides we're not going to miss it after all I did promise you right?" Shadow firestated as he followed light. he then preceded to look down remembering the face of his father and mother smiling. snapping out of his trance he shook his head and looked ahead of him to see light fire even farther then before "hey wait up light!" Shadow yelled as he galloped up to her reaching the gate to the farm.
light fire looked up in wonder and excitement in her eyes "wow its so pretty" she said as Shadow caught up with her. (o.o.c. "sry for the lack of fancynes in my first post I still need to build light and Shadow's post design in there stables should only take a few hours )

((Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry I took so long! I was really busy with school and real life. I hope you can forgive me!))
Forest Frolic looked up with her mouth full of apple at the sound of a new voice. She hadn't heard the soft wings of the pegasus and was pleasantly surprised to find the unfamiliar guest complementing her contribution to the festival. After taking the time to swallow her mouthful, she trotted over gleefully to greet the newcomer. "I'm so glad you like them! I wasn't sure what to bring because I didn't know what would already be here, but the Everfree Forest sure has a lot of colorful plant life, so I thought I'd bring a little of everything just in case." She beamed brightly. "I'm Forest Frolic! It's very nice to meet you! Did you come for the festival?"
"Whew! Am I late?" another voice asked as a second pair of wings allowed yet another pegasus to descend from the skies. This one seemed to have come especially for the festivities as he had full saddlebags. Touching down, he beamed at Forest, who ran to greet him.
"Gypsy! Hi! No, you're just in time," she said, grinning. "Can I, uh...help you with any of that?"
"That's alright," he answered, setting down his bags. "Just do me a favor and don't try to set me up, will you?"
"I can't make any promises," the earth pony teased. "There's already a few other guests! See?" Glancing back at Morning Dew when he asked about the flowers, Forest laughed mirthfully. "They don't cost anything. I brought them for anyone to take. Please, help yourself!"
Gypsy froze. "Forest..." he muttered through clenched teeth. "Forest, why are there unicorns here?"
"Because it's Ponyville, silly," she answered, giggling at her pegasus friend. "Don't you know they have all kinds here?"
"Well yes, but no one told me there were going to be unicorns here..." he muttered fearfully, backing away to a shady spot under an apple tree. "Maaaaybe I'll just stay over here and set up..."
"I think you're overreacting," Forest answered, shaking her head. "I'll bet he's really nice!"
"Yes, well...better safe than sorry." Glancing over at the table full of Forest's flowers, Gypsy did a double-take. "Whoa...who's that?"
"Who? Oh, her! She flew in just a little before you did," Forest explained. "I haven't gotten her name yet. Why don't you go ask her?"

Globe Trotter sniffed the flowers once more and was surprised to hear a voice naming the scents as she smelled them. Looking to the side she saw a unicorn doing the same as she, sniffing and enjoying the beauty before them. She was about to ask him how he knew so many scents and names of flowers, but a friendly voice caught her attention.
Turning, she spotted an earth pony heading their way. She gave a little grin of recognition and turned to face her as she arrived. "Oh! The Everfree Forest...I've been there once," she said with a little nod. "A bit intimidating for a pony who doesn't know what she's doing, but still very beautiful."
Tilting her head just a bit, she waited for the pony to give her name before returning the favor. "Nice to meet you, Forest Frolic! I'm Globe Trotter. And no, actually...I was flying over and noticed the festive decor. I know Ponyville's a pretty friendly place so I figured you guys wouldn't mind another set of hooves at the party!"
Both ponies were distracted by another voice in their ear as she spoke, though, so as Forest Frolic turned to the new pegasus on the scene, Globe Trotter looked back to the unicorn. It was then she noticed the blank, glazed look to his eyes. She was momentarily surprised, but took it in stride. "I bet you could leave a little tip," she whispered to him, moving a little closer so Forest Frolic wouldn't hear her, even though she seemed to have run off to the other pony. "She was so nice to have brought all these flowers here. I wonder how many trips it took. Globe Trotter, by the way," she added, in case he hadn't heard her introduction earlier.
A little pop alerted her to the arrival of another pony, this one dressed in rather magnificent robes. The location that he arrived, however, was rather amusing. He seemed to be fine getting off the well, though, so she turned her attention back to the flowers. It seemed they were the hit of the festival so far! A few bits were on the table, and she glanced around to see who left it. Another unicorn - they were everywhere today it seemed! - had taken a flower and left a little money on the table. Aw, that was sweet! She began to assess the flowers, tilting her head this way and that. Which one should she take?
A few more hooves behind her let her know they were once again joined by more ponies, but she had a challenge on her hooves! Which one, which one...

After a moment on the ground, and a quick observation around, Cobalt magically pulled out a plain necklace from one of the pockets inside his robe, the only standing out feature was the rather large and very transparent sapphire it held. A quick shake of the trinket caused what would look like a small swirling tornado in the dead center of the gemstone, and only after did the orange unicorn attach it around his neck. "Love can be used, right, Cadenza? Let's see if it can't be stored and withdrawn" Cobalt spoke to himself again before ultimately walking towards the flower stand.
By the time Cobalt got there, there was a few others who were also gazing at the plethora of the unmade bouquet, most noticeably a green short-haired pegasus. "Daiseis can be used to heighten one's senses, quite signifigantly. Mix it with carrots for eyesight, or an apple to help improve your stamina, for a couple examples" the unicorn spoke to Globe Trotter. "And carnations are still widely used in the medical field, renown for their healing properties. A good mixture could make a week-long cold last only a day at first symptoms." With little hesitation after that last sentence, Cobalt magically picked up a single carnation and rather loosely inspected it.

There were plenty of ponies wandering around the festivities, but it seemed that many had come to collect around the flowers. This was quite favorable to Meadow Mists, as the little details fluttering about the beautiful flora were more than interesting. With a perked ear Mea listened curiously to the names and uses for each of those beautiful flowers.
Something caught her attention, not too far off a pony by the name of Gypsy seemed to be a little off-put by the fact there were unicorns here. She wasn't sure what to make of it, other than feeling inclined to offer him some space. She didn't want to make anyone unnecessarily uncomfortable! So she moved her way over to her fellow unicorns; Morning dew and Cobalt Lightning.
"Marigolds and mint leaves?" she chimed in. "Any reason for those?" Her curiosity begged her to ask, though she was quickly bringing her attention to Cobalt as well. "That's fascinating." Daiseis and carrots? Apples, carnations... She'd have to remember that the next time she got the sniffles!
Finally she turned her gaze to the Pegasus, whom had offered her name she decided to offer her own. "Meadow Mists... Me'a for short."
Name:Light fire occupation:none, currently in school
Name:Shadow fire occupation:blacksmith
"come one hurry up slow poke we're going to miss all the fun." Said light fire waiting at the gate for her brother Shadow fire. The Festival was a real sight to see and she could hardly wait to have fun, she could smell all the flowers and herbs in the air, she couldn't help it but squeal in excitement.
"Ok, ok lil light." Shadow said walking up to Light's ear, he whispered to her. "Why don't you go enjoy yourself, I'll be over at the stalls browsing there merchandise, ok sweetie?"
"Ok big brother." She said giving an excited grin as she galloped off to one of the games that she saw. bobbing apples she saw on a sign as she stopped. she then trotted in and began to have fun.
Meanwhile shadow walked over to one of the stalls, one of which held an assortment of flowers, but his eyes stopped on the blue roses. "Wow I've never seen a rose that color before." He murmured to himself as he looked closer at it, it gave him an idea for his next forge project, a rose crown, this made him happy, and with out realizing he grinned slightly. "My mom always loved to see roses." He murmured to himself again as he sniffed it closing his eyes as he did so.

Forest beamed warmly at Globe Trotter. "Tell me about it! It's even intimidating for ponies who do know what they're doing because they know what kind of dangers abound there. But that's why I like it," she added, winking. "It's never predictable or boring, so there's always some adventure to be found!"
"What a cool name! Sounds like you have a bunch of adventures of your own." Frolic commented. "Oh, yeah, definitely! It's so nice here and everyone's so welcoming. It's so great you could join us! The more the merrier, right?" Her ear swerved as she caught the sound of whimpering. "Um...excuse me, Globe Trotter...I think I have a friend to attend to. See you around, though!" With a happy little rear, she pranced back to Gypsy, who was cowering at the edge of the apple orchard.
"Great Celestia! Did you see how many unicorns are starting to show up?!" he whined in fright. "They're just popping out of nowhere, now! There's no where to hide!"
Frolic sighed. "Gypsy, would you please calm down? You'll be alright, promise! They won't hurt you; not at this festival."
"You don't know that," he answered fearfully. "Look! That one over there - look at his clothes! I'll just bet he's from Canterlot. What if they find me?! He could bewitch me! What if he tries to turn me in and they lock me up in the dungeons and I'm stuck there for eternity?!" His voice gradually rose in pitch and volume as he began to dissolve into hysterics.
Frolic sat beside him and took his face in her hooves. "Shhh...it'll be alright. I won't let any of them bewitch you," she assured him. "Or take you away. Or lock you up. Just come and have some fun! Pretend they don't have horns or magic," she advised, trying to subtly push him toward the others. It was a little difficult since he was so much bigger than her, but as a pegasus, he was light and she managed to budge him a little even though he dug his hooves into the ground.
With a quiet moan of distress, the pegasus finally got to his hooves and walked beside Frolic as she returned to the quickly-growing gathering of ponies. That didn't stop him from frantically glancing left and right, however. For his performance, he had put on his mask, purple cloak, and plumed hat over his colorful shirt and trousers. It was a little more comforting to know he had some disguise to keep anyone for recognizing him as a gypsy thief, but he still worried.
"Oh...and that mare you were staring at?" Frolic whispered to him, trying to get his mind off his fear. "Her name is Globe Trotter. You should go talk to her."
"Oh...thank you."Swallowing the nervous lump in his throat, Gypsy nodded absently. "I will...er, later. She seems busy right now. Talking to a unicorn," he murmured, blushing as he looked away from the other pegasus.
"You're just shy," Frolic teased. "Go talk to her, you coward!"
"Later, I said!" the stallion protested. "And if I was a complete coward, I wouldn't be able to do this."
Taking to the air, he called out in a voice of announcement, "Ladies and gentlecolts! What a fine day it is for celebrating Hearts and Hooves, wouldn't you agree?" Putting on his best show smile, he appeared to take a colored ball out of nowhere. "So many colorful ponies of all shapes and sizes..." As he spoke, he tossed the bright blue ball into the air and seemed to magically already have a purple one in its place.
"If you don't already know the perfect somepony for you, what better day and occasion than today? Let's give it up for Sweet Apple Acres for hosting this wonderful event!" Soon he was juggling four balls - blue, purple, pink, and yellow - before sparing a hoof to gesture at the place in general and catching the balls with a sweep of his cloak.
Laughing gleefully at Gypsy's performance, she shook her head. "And there goes his stage fright," she spoke under her breath, smiling as she returned to the table of flowers. "Everyone enjoying themselves?" she asked. "Please, everyone take as much as you like! There's plenty more where that came from and I can always go run and fetch some." Noticing the bits that Meadow Mists had left, she gasped a little in surprise. "Thank you! Oh, I'd better give this to the Apple Family. I'm sure they could always use a little extra to help keep up their farm and orchard."
She picked up a few words from the young unicorn male and smiled as she listened to his descriptions of what the plants could be used for. Unicorns were so smart! She also made a mental note of Meadow Mists' name along with the shortened versions. It was so fantastic getting to meet and greet new ponies! The Everfree Forest was fun, but it got pretty lonely with so few other ponies even venturing near it.
Just then, however, another pegasus' words caught her attention. "Your mom?" she repeated, looking over at him. "Why don't you take some to her, then?" With a pleasant smile, she gathered up a few and offered them to him.
"Psh, what a know-it-all," a stripey, blue-green pegasus with a watermelon slice cutie mark spoke up as he walked by Cobalt Lightning. "I didn't hear anyone asking your opinion. If you're so smart, what are melons good for? Or do you only know about sissy things like flowers?" He took a bite out of a crisp apple and watched Cobalt expectantly, waiting for an answer.
Meanwhile, yet another unicorn from Canterlot set up shop nearby. Mirror Shards, who was all for taking advantage of a gathering of ponies, had packed up his finest pieces from his shop and headed out to Sweet Apple Acres to find a place he could set up a booth. Having located a place near the entrance where many ponies were sure to come by, he put up a stand and set down his glass works of art.
There were bottles, dishes, and jars of every size, shape, and color. There were little spun glass animals and flowers as well as mosaics of broken glass shards. Mobiles of colored sea glass dangled from the stall front and caught the light while crystal wind chimes produced merry tinkling melodies while speckling their surroundings with tiny rainbows.
Most wondrous of all, however, were the mirrors that were put on display. Some had transparent crystal frames while others were decorated with vibrant glass butterflies that seemed like they would fly off on a whim and roses that actually emanated the fragrance of true roses. It was enough to make one believe that the mirrors themselves had to be extraordinary, but if they possessed any magical properties or not was anyone's guess.
Mirror Shards had kept the name that his family had left the shop with when it had been entrusted to him, which was 'Mirror Magic'. Along with the banner that displayed those words, the front of his stall had a small sign that read, 'Beware, glass-breakers, for you may get more than you bargained for.'
