Gaia ToS is Arceus. I am its messenger, and this messenger asks for semi-literacy. This means at least 2 paragraphs of 7-10 sentences each, with spellcheck and decent grammar. I can be a grammar Nazi, though I really don't want to talk to anyone about it. Writer's block and roleplay idleness I will be more lenient towards.
Please be active. That was what killed the last four five remakes of this. All I ask is that you post at least once or twice a week -- more is, of course, appreciated. I'm pretty lax about people being absent, and if that's the case, please inform me and another admin that you'll be away for an extended period of time. This can be done via PM, Chatterbox/OOC thread, or the MIA thread. That way, I can continue the storyline and keep your character involved. By that, I mean that you either permit another player to use your character(s) or let me take control while you're gone. When you return, you will get the character back as well as a recap of what happened during your absence.
No Cybering, Godmodding or Autohitting. Trolling will not be tolerated on the main board for obvious reasons, but it is acceptable on the OOC if you are accepted as a member of this community. Three strikes for that, and then you're done.
Romance and violence are encouraged. They add a little... flavor to the roleplay. But like most fine spices, too much can ruin a good dish. When in the main forums, moderation is the key. No cussing every other word or too-passionate romance. If it becomes overly sexual or gory, take it somewhere offsite -- to a private chat if you want -- and have fun there; otherwise skip it. I cannot stress enough how much this could cause trouble not only for you and your fellow guild members, but myself as well.
► Posting.
Have an OOC post? Take it to the Chatterbox/OOC thread, please. That's why it's there--unless you have something quick to say that can be added at the end of a post with brackets, braces, etc. It is also a good idea to quote the players you are interacting with, as the notice will grab their attention faster than just waiting.
Once Pokemon are obtained, please include a sprite of all Pokemon you have on you, plus their levels, HP, EXP, and movesets. This will help facilitate any battle you and your team engage in, as well as any random Pokemon-related events. With the addition of a realistic "Random Item Get" (RIG), the order of your Pokemon may determine which one is 'released' and walking about and therefore capable of finding items, just like in HeartGold and SoulSilver. The lead Pokémon in your party must have the Pickup ability in order for you to attempt to find a random item, and I will do what I can to have "random item grants" as well. Getting a notice from me saying that "[your Pokémon] found [this item] while you were [doing an activity]" overrides the process of doing it yourself, but I won't be doing this all the time.
Please put effort into your posts. I know that writer's block affects everyone, and sometimes it's hard. If you're at a loss for ideas, try having your character (1) purchase something from the Mart (if in town); (2) explore the immediate area and note the scenery, buildings, clouds in the sky that look like Pokémon, pretty flowers that smell great, or what have you; or (3) wonder about what could happen down the road (what might the group discover on their travels since things are already different than expected). You are by no means expected to adhere to this list--by all means, get creative!
Please make posts nice to look at. Not blinding like this or this, but visible. At least include a picture of your character and the name as a heading. Many veterans also include a Moods/Status section, at either the beginning or end of the post. Pictures and names will change in the Pokemon world; this will all be clarified in a later post. If you would like some help with creating a post format, ask anybody that's willing. Nintendraw, XxJustified_DeathxX, and myself at least can help you out.
► The General Plot
I will play all of the NPC's encountered within the game and manage any random events that might occur. As mentioned in the plot post, everyone is basically already together, and knows each other to some extent, and we'll be jumping right into the Pokémon world in Nuvema Town. How well certain characters know each other is up to the players, but remember, everyone is at least already acquainted, if not close friends in the real world, and this translates to past events that happened outside of the game. So make use of character history that happened because of Pokémon.
Your character will NOT have the option of choosing their own starter; they will have their character's starter as determined in the Pokemon Special Manga. The video game starters, not the manga starters. Those will come later, I promise. (As for Kalos starters, I haven't seen any manga yet, so I'm not sure which starter would go to who.) If anybody has any questions on which one they get, ask me or any admin.
