"Runic item?" Ripley parroted, curious. He'd seen them around but had never really looked into them. For a moment he thought about apologizing for his obvious 'new kid' scent, but immediately thought better of it; it was obvious enough that he was new, and that was something he didn't need to apologize for. Everyone was in his shoes at some point. Everyone.
He was pretty sure it was Molly that got him through this one; his 'skill' didn't see him through any of the other times he tried. So he just shook his head and headed out of the training area, opening the doors for her until they were outside.
It was raining. Not only that, but it was raining hard.
"...Well, ready to run?" He was not looking forward to running in the rain. His glasses were going to be so very useless... So far the awning was protecting them, but that would end the moment they stepped out from under the protective barrier. To be safe though, he squinted through the dark and the water, trying to see his way to the next building.

“Mhm! For completing the Miss Taken Tower, and a mission, you can claim runic chains! According to the information about basic runic items, the chains weigh down an opponent and hinder their next attack!” Thank goodness she had to read all those item manuals. She actually felt useful for once. Molly followed the trainee to the doors, and once they opened to reveal rain, she gasped, and then clapped her hands excitedly. “It’s raining! I hope it starts to lightning too!” She beamed at Ripley. “Yes!” She chirped, and waited just a few more moments before she took a dash out from underneath the protective awning, and started to make a bee-line for the cafeteria. She looked over her shoulder to make sure poor Ripley was still following her, though hard to see in the downpour, and she only stopped once she hit the doors and the next awning of the cafeteria. “Well…that seemed sudden, huh?”

Ripley mulled over the information he was just being fed. Runic chains, huh? They seemed helpful, which was something he could look forward to. He imagined he would need all the help he could get until he was strong enough to stand alone. "Thanks for the information." He mused, his gaze refocusing on the red-head.
"Does this sort of thing happen---okay." Molly had already taken off into the storm, and Ripley was left blinking after her for a moment or two. Then he hurried after her, pulling his jacket over his head in an attempt to protect his glasses from the most of the water. It was a difficult, slippery run but he made it under the next awning, shaking himself free of some excess water.
"Agreed." He mused, taking off his glasses to blindly clean off the water droplets on a dry part of his under shirt. Once clean his glasses were returned to his face, and he reached out to open the door for her.

“Oh, I’m sorry!” Molly exclaimed once Ripley arrived. She had noticed he started talking before she ran off. “What were you saying? That was so rude, I am so sorry!” She then made a surprised sound as he opened the door for her. “Oh gosh, thank you!” Molly ducked on it, and once inside pushed her semi-flattened hair away from her face as she moved into the cafeteria. She looked over at the trainee, and smiled as she picked up a tray, held one out to him, and then took one for herself. “How are you doing so far? Um…at Deus, I mean!”

"It's okay." Ripley assured her, but shook his head as she tried to bring the conversation back up. It wasn't really important, anyway. No need for her to worry about it. The Trainee followed her inside and, when offered, took the tray.
"I'm not sure. I suppose I'm doing okay." Though nearly died a few times by now. He just assumed that was a normal thing for Deus, as strange as it was. "How about you?"

“Well…only if you’re sure…!” Molly’s brows furrowed with worry before they relaxed, and she started to move down the line of the cafeteria, picking up some soup and a sandwich. She blinked and looked back over at Ripley. “Not sure…?” She echoed, and was about to ask when he asked her a question. “Oh! I’m doing well, thank you for asking!” She replied cheerfully…which was definitely at odds with the norm of Deus. “Um…is there anything I could possibly help you with…? I’ll try my best, I promise!”

Ripley nodded. Yes, he was sure! The Trainee then focused on the food, putting a sandwich of his own on his tray, followed by the nicest apple he could find. He did cast a glance to her as she seemed to glow cheerfully, which was a unique trait on the island, or so he had come to learn.
"I'm not sure where to start." He admitted with a shrug, waiting for her to get her food together before wandering over to the nearest table to take a seat. The sandwich was bitten into first and thoughtfully chewed as he mulled over what to even ask her. "What advice would you give to someone just starting out?"

Molly ended up being a bit slower than Ripley up at the line, as she ended up grabbing more food, enough to feed another person. She then sheepishly skittered after him, and slid into a seat across from him. The other food was neatly pushed off to the side, to be saved for later, and Molly picked up a cup of instant coffee and took a sip. “Well…um…I think things can be really confusing at first? So don’t be discouraged! Also, if you’re in doubt, ask your fellow trainees and hunters! Everyone seems to want to help!” Well…at least all the hunters Molly was fortunate to surround herself with. “We were all in the new kid shoes once…so…yes!” She smiled. “Aside from that, just do your best! That’s the most anyone can ask of you!” Unless it was some certain Division Leads…

"Even I know better than that." He knew that Molly was simply being nice. After all, the Division Leads expected the world of them, without teaching them about it first. He ate quietly, his gaze off to the distance.

Molly gasped. "But trying your best is always good...!" She paused. "...I hope." Molly was blessed with an actually reasonable and fair Division Lead, so she was rather sheltered from the others. "But if there's anything I can help you with, please do let me know!" She fell silent for a bit, to start into her lunch. After a moment she spoke up again. "Um...Ripley? Have you...ever visited anywhere else...well...aside from your home in Canada? Like...gone traveling?" He was so pasty white, Molly wondered if he ever saw the light of day.
