Blocking and Dodging

Blocking: The act of physically stopping attack while reducing physical harm. Blocking requires the physical capability and/or equipment to stop an attack, such as a kunai being needed to block a blade. If one lacks the equipment and skills to stop an attack, one cannot block an attack completely, or in some cases, not at all. Free blocking techniques, without using chakra or spiritual techniques can only completely block other attacks that have no cost. Against attacks which use spiritual energy or chakra, or advanced taijutsu techniques, normal blocking can only reduce the damage up to 50% at best. One must be aware of an attack to block it.
Dodging: Dodging requires one have the means to avoid an attack, and the room to dodge around in. Dodging can be done completely only against an attack with no chakra or spiritual energy behind it, and no advanced taijutsu. Against attacks enhanced in this way, it can only reduce the damage up to 50%. One must be aware of an attack to dodge it.

Blocking with Chakra or Spiritual pressure: If one uses chakra or spiritual-pressure based technique to block a normal attack, it will automatically block any damage by at least 90%, if not completely. If used to defend against an attack with chakra or spiritual energy, an offensive technique reduces the cp/sp of the other technique by its own cp/sp. If the cp/sp of both are completely used up, they negate. If one remains after the other is used up, then it goes on towards it's target and will do damage based on the amount of cp/sp it has left. If the technique is a defensive technique, it will reduce the cp/sp of the other technique by 1.5 of the cp/sp of the defensive technique. if the offensive technique loses all it's energy it is negated. If cp remains, it goes on do deal the reduced damage. Note, if an offensive technique has an equal cost to the defensive technique when they clash, the defensive technique will be destroyed even if it blocks the offensive technique. Note, some techniques cannot clash against one another in this manner, based on the nature of each technique. Their exact interaction, if any at all, must be determined by those involved.

Dodging using energy: If one dodges using energy to avoid a normal physical attack, then at least 90% of the damage will be avoided, if not all of it. If used to defend against an attack with chakra or spiritual energy, the cp of an attack is reduced by 1.5 of the cp/sp of the dodging technique.If the offensive technique is used up, it misses completely, if not, it's reduced damage still hits. Note, room to dodge, and the means to dodge are still required ti do so. attacks that are dodged to not remove the effect of the attack elsewhere. Any effects to the environment or anyone else in the path of the attack remain. Multiple attacks can stack, but only if they are released in a way as to cover more ground and be harder to avoid overall.

Elements: When two techniques of different elements collide, one element may have an advantage over the other. If this is the case, the technique with a weakness to the other technique loses half of its cp/sp automatically. Some weaknesses and strengths are clear ((like those of the five elements in naruto with their element wheel)) others are not so clear. For instance, fire is often considered above ice by some, but, in my opinion, fire and ice would be considered equal. Fire melts ice, but ice drains the heat from fire, and becomes water, which puts out the fire. The results may require clarification by the mods.

Energy absorption techniques: Energy absorption techniques are a difficult subject to deal with, due to the ease with which one can abuse them. But it is known they exist in both the naruto and bleach universe, and in this guild. So, to be fair to both sides of the arguement, energy absorption techniques should work like this. An energy absorption technique can absorb no more then half of it's cp/sp cost in energy per turn it is used. It can be dodged, and in some cases, blocked. If one dodges or blocks without cp or sp, then the technique still manages to absorb half of it's normal absorption from a person. If one uses a technique with cp/sp to block or dodge it, then one can completely avoid it. If an absorption technique can be used against attacks to absorb and use the energy from it, then the technique can only completely absorb attacks with one rank lower then it in power. If used against an attack of equal power, it can only absorb up to half of the energy from the attack. If used against an attack of greater power then it, then only 1/4 of the energy can be absorbed. The energies of multiple attacks used at the same time stack. While using an absorption technique to absorb an attack, one's movements and ability to do other things is severely restricted, meaning one will be almost completely unable to dodge or block at the same time, or perform other jutsu. Techniques like wall/water walking are among the few exceptions, and even then, one cannot move much. When an attack is only partially absorbed the remaining energy will do the appropriate amount of damage.
