Star showers were one of the few things on Magesc rarer than peace or communication from the deities. Only a few times in the past had the night sky lit up as tiny beacons of light streamed across the vast swathes of open space. It looked as those the stars themselves were falling like rain. Though scholars would adamantly attempted to point out that this was not true and that stars always stayed put, that it was other.. things that caused the beautiful and mysterious events to occur. Still the common man had no time for unexplained mysteries and so the infrequent events remained dubbed star showers. They were memorable not just for their rarity but also as signs of coming important events. Every star shower recorded heralded some great victory or defeat, the birth or death of an important figure and other significant occurrences. Some dismissed this as mere coincidence but others felt as though they were messages, the one warning given to all from on high, not filtered by the leaders. The true nature of star showers would be up for debate again as those who studied the skies had determined that Magesc was due for another this night. Scholars from across the planet had conferred over the past months and determine the date of the upcoming event and the place it would be best to observe it from. Pamphlets had been put up all over the cities inviting those interested in peacefully observing the event to come to a set of coordinates on Ayr. Those with the magic to help tame Ayr’s winds and keep the sky clear were especially welcome. Here, nestled in the mountains, with naught but open sky above them there was to be a celebration. A night of festivities mixed with study and appreciation for the wonders of the world. Rules and notes Quote: 1. Please label where your character is at the top of each post. There is the potential for this orp to be quite large and it is helpful to know where everyone is. 2. If multiple people are engaged in a conversation please allow reasonable time for everyone to respond before carrying on the conversation, we don’t want anyone to be left behind. 2.a, If you know you will be busy but still want to play, try not to engage the largest group as that leaves many people waiting on you. There are always people willing to have slower paced conversations during an orp. 3. While the general atmosphere is meant to be peaceful we will allow small scuffles to break out. However please pm your intended target before going after them and work out how you plan to resolve the situation. 4. Feel free to use the guard, scholar and merchant NPCs. The leaders are not present.

Setting The meteor shower will be very much like what you'll see in this video: ( click ) Just a bit more meteorites and lights (cause this is fantasy and we can have more impressive stuff if we want!) Locations The star shower observation celebration takes place in a small crater like valley up in the mountains of Ayr. The valley itself has a tiny river running through it that becomes a small waterfall at one edge. At the moment the rest of the rocky valley floor and much of it’s sides have been taken up by celebration participants. Please use the locations below to tag posts. Merchant stalls: A large chunk of the valley floor has been taken up by vendors who saw a great opportunity in this rare event. Some offered food and warm drinks, while others have star themed jewelry and trinkets. One stall is even selling little mini illustrated booklets of the history if the starfalls and the events that followed them. All races can be found mingling down here. Observation station:Here you will find a collection of scholars from the various races huddled around sets of strange devices they help them to study the movements of objects in the sky. There is even a pair of them set up that anyone can use to get a closer look at the stars, as well as some scholars who are selling small handheld devices for people to use if they wish. All races can be found here. Orderite camp: Not keen on mingling with the other races, here is where a small group of orderites have gathered setting up blankets and folding chairs in anticipation of the star shower. Orderites and hybrids can be found here, they are higher up on the left ridge of the valley. Hybrid camp: A handful of hybrids seem to have formed a safe space for their kind on the left ridge of the valley. They are closer to the front of the valley however whereas the Orderites are closer to back and the entrance to the valley. Oblivionite camp: Wary of the feral Kehora overhead and nearby, Oblivionite families and individuals have set themselves up on the back part of the right ridge. Hybrids with obliv blood may be spotted among this crowd. Dovaa camp: Opposite the Hybrid camp is a merry little band of Dovaa and hybrids that share their blood. Ayrala dovaa in particular can be spotted manipulating the famed strong winds that rule Ayr. Kehora ledges: Feral kehora do not seem to care about the boundaries established by the other races and some wander all throughout the valley. Those that came purely to watch the festivities however have settled upon ledges in the small mountain peak that overlooks the valley Mountain path (the way up): At the back of the valley is a winding and slowly descending path that leads all the way to the base of the mountain. For those without the ability to fly or whom are carrying too much it is the path that must be taken up the mountain to access the valley. Local feral kehora and the odd dragon may take a go at you on your travels as they do not appreciate this intrusion into their territory. (Please note that the separate camps are not meant to force player characters to play with just their own race. They are simply locations you can start in or use if it suits a character in question. )

Kadryn: Merchant Stalls I will be a slow reply-er! So only meet Kadryn or Toki if you aren't in a rush to rp or stuff!
Kadryn had run into her aunt and uncle at the ferry as she and Kirosh were on their way to leave Ayr. They had been in the wild for several months now and had missed most of the news and excitement of the impending event. Her uncle had looked at Kirosh and grinned before tossing an arm over both of their shoulders and declaring that they were to be his minions and help him clean, cook, and run his stall while the rest of the family claimed a spot to watch the event.
"So dis is the... frien' who got you to start enjoying exploring again, eh?" He whispered to Kadryn with a wink as they were setting out materials to start cooking. She blushed and glared at her uncle but couldn't respond as Kiorsh leaned on the counter in front of the field kitchen, "The stables are all set up, anything else I need to do?"
"Nah right now. Ye can be the waiter boy and take food to those waitin'."Tarlon said with a smile.
The stall had a few tables set up around it with some small chairs made out of large rocks found near by. The stall itself had a counter where one could eat. The kitchen behind it had a small portable oven for breads, large pots and pans for some spicy soups and sauces as well as a large fire with fire on spits. The smells of tasty foods merged with the scents of the near by stalls as well, permeating the area with the stalls and beginning to waft towards the camps on the light wind.

Kioda: Mountian path ~ I am a fast Rper. If you can't keep up or take a long time to post, please move on. Though I am slower to respond with Kioda than I am with my other characters.
Kioda yawned and stretched out along the rocky surface. She was positioned so her body could hide the tiny cave entrance behind her. Once she had discovered while hunting for food on this windy and unforgiving place. Part of her stash of orbs had been hidden away in the cave. A tiny portion of them were scattered on each continent she frequented so that she wasn't at risk of loosing them all should some sneaky brat come along and snap them up. No she had worked to hard for what she had. She wasn't going to be loosing them now. Certainly not now, she was too close to gathering up the ability to perform the ritual.
Raising her rump into the air, Kioda kept her chest low to the ground stretching out her hind legs. Then arching her back she stretched her hind leg out behind her one after another. The flex of her muscles felt good she had been lazing about all day watching the strange gathering of two leggers below her. They usually stayed away from Ayr, with them here it made her scales bristle. She didn't like many two leggers. Most were blood thirsty birds, Soulless freaks, or high and mighty dragon imposters. None of which were ones she herself felt the desire to mix with.
There were a couple she didn't mind speaking with, or working beside. A female and male hybrid but they were the only two in particular she really cared about. Perhaps the females daughter would be tolerable but at best the rest were thick and nothing better than a good meal.
Eying the sky with little interest Kioda turned to bury the hiding place of her orbs. Clawing rocks into the small entrance so hide it from prying eyes. Satisfied with her work, and happy there wasn't a soul around to see Kioda opened her wings and took to the skies. With light still on the horrizon it didn't make sense why there were so many flocking to Ayr before nightfall.
A rumble echoed from deep in her chest. Kioda continued to flap her wings and move eastward over the continent. It was easier to move with the wind than against it. What she didn't like to see was the growing number of Orderites and Oblivionites in the area she was currently calling home. With a hissing breath Kioda angled to get higher in the sky. The only ones she would be interested in seeing where the various races of Khehora to speak with.

Erionda and Lilith - Hybrid Camp - I am the most attentive to Rio, and respond the quickest with her. If you are going to be slow... Rping with me probably isn't the best idea.
Erionda crumpled up some paper in her hands. She had been given some sort of pamphlet that had guided her here. Something about the stars falling from the sky?
She had been reluctant to even leave Aisko to start with. Not with the fact it was only she and Lilith at home now. Kilian and Casseth had taken off, and she had no idea where they could have gone. There was no note, or word left at the house. Not even a word sent back to her to let her know everything was ok. All she knew was her worst fear had come to pass. Kilian was gone, and had taken their son with him. Her heart shattered whenever she thought on the subject but tried not to dwell on them for Lilith's sake.
The small 6 year old girl stood tightly against her mothers side. Lilith had been with her mother to visit Soudul in search of their father but had turned up with nothing. Defeated they had returned home only to find it just as empty as before. Clinging to her mothers skirts Lilith stared out over the small camp she and her mother were occupying with many other hybrids. Her feelings towards her father was growing from the deep effection she held to resentment. Why hadn't he bothered to ask her to come along? Why couldn't her twin have just told her what was happening? Did she matter so little to them?
Blinking Lilith looked up at her mother a marked frown on her face. "I thought you said stars were falling from the sky!" She whispered lightly, wanting to bury her face against her mothers leg.
Erionda knelt down so she was more level with her daughter. "It isn't time for them to fall yet my love." She forced a smile and reached up to brush a lock of Liliths hair from her socket. Only for Lilith to quickly push it back into place. Erionda's smile faded. "Why hide your face? I want to see all of you."
Lilith pouted and looked away "Cause I'm a freak. Why can't I look like you? At least you can pass for something I can't"
A pain shot through Erionda's heart for the second time since arriving in Ayr. Taking Lilith's shoulders in her hands she gave her a firm shake. "You're not a freak! Who told you such a thing!?"
Puckering up her lips into a bigger pout Lilith continued to look away. Shifting her hair so it easily covered her orbed socket. "Why else would we have been left behind?"
Erionda made a sound something like a whimper but didn't say anything more. Was there any end to the heartache that followed with her greatest fear? It seemed even Lilith understood what was going on, even in the small and young mind of hers. "Never mind that." Erionda gave a soft smirk in an attempt to distract her melancholy daughter. "I've brought one of the Vinara here with me. See?" '
Lifting her hair away from her shoulder Erionda pointed to a tiny snow bug sitting nestled comfortably against her neck. Lilith gave little response only crossed her arms over her chest and stared out into the distance.

Akilae - Hybrid Camp ( I am a variable replier, sometimes within an hour and sometimes not for a day and a half, you roll the dice with me)
Aki didn't care much for the stars, he used them as markers when traveling but other than that they were simply shiny lights in the sky. The Order of the Onyx however had multiple members who felt that a star shower was indeed an auspicious event and many members as were dispatched to take part in the viewing of it. Others, mostly sigils stayed behind to work on special rituals and items that they believed might be effected by the cosmic event.
For his part Akilae was wandering about in a group of his hybrid kin. Under the guise of Tyrok he was meeting and conversing with strangers, all the while keeping an eye out for those that he knew. Now was as good a time as any to have pleasant little chats with those he continued to try and sway into his favor. You were never off the job as an order member, there were always converts to be made and people to spy upon and take notes of.
No deaths today though, fang he might be but Akilae had been ordered to keep his weapons sheathed except in defense. Even if high profile targets made an appearance at the event he was not to go after them. At the moment the hybrid was spinning his harmonica between his fingers as he tried to decide who to approach next, or if he should try and draw others to him with a little music.

Oblivion - Feral Diabi Company: Avani Position: Observation Station Oblivion had never made the trip to Ayr before, especially not from somewhere else he'd never been, like Serenia. He was sure the trip couldn't be too hard. After all, he had an amazing sense of direction... Right? Wasn't that something Khehora were innately born with? He hoped so, because as far as he could tell, he'd simply been traveling over a great expanse of seemingly endless ocean, with a little Orderite girl he'd met only the day before, for the past several hours. Being a nocturnal Diabi, taking this trip so early in the morning, when he was usually nestling down for sleep, was probably a bad idea...
But the girl had said their was a Star Show on Ayr, and somehow, he'd gotten roped in to taking her himself. He didn't mind, per se. After all, no one loved beautiful things more than Levi (though, he was still the most beautiful of all, of course). It's just... the timing could have been better... The sky was awake, so Levi wanted to be asleep. He shook his head as he beat his wings. They were already well into the trip now. No turning back. "Still doing alright?" He called over his shoulder, barely audible over the whip of the wind rushing by them. It seemed like they'd been at this forever, and Levi had never flown so far carrying a passenger (albeit, she was a small one) before.
As he was starting to wonder what he would do if they didn't make it there soon, a dark greyish shape started emerging over the horizon. It was faint, and a bit hard to see, what with the thick mists surrounding it. But mist was one of Ayr's trademarks! This had to be it. He sped forward with renewed vigor, only slowing when he neared a high perch along the mountain, riddled with scurrying two-leggers. So many! All here to see the show like Avani was? He landed in as clear a space as he could find, sending a few Magescians scurrying out from beneath the span of his wings. He crouched low, letting the youngster dismount without hurting herself.

Avani - Orderite Farmer Apprentice Company: Oblivion Position: Observation Station
Avani loved flying. She had never done this before! She felt the wind in her hair and saw all below. It was something precious that she had wings, though she knew that it would only be later in her life that they would grow big enough to fly by herself. Avani laughed as she barely head Oblivion's question over the wind and replied, "I'm fine!" she laughed again and said, "I always wondered what flying would be like!"She then spied the large mass of mist, and felt Oblivion speed up. This had to be Ayr then. She had wondered what it would be like. She held on tightly as Oblivion landed and released him gently as she felt him settle onto the ground. Avani scrambled down Oblivion's side and smiled up at him. "Thank you!" She had noted once or twice on the way over he seemed tired, as if he hadn't gotten enough sleep the previous night, that their early start couldn't have helped much. She smiled again and said, "We can stay here, or we can find some place to set up a spot. Then, if you want to rest you can there!" If she decided to wander off, she could find her way back to Oblivi easily. It wasn't exactly like he was hard to notice. She didn't know what to do herself, she was full of energy and wanted to explore the new place. This land was so different from Serenia. She had been stunned by the expanse of blue ocean and the small little islands that dotted the sea: They looked like nothing that she had seen in books. She looked around and saw many different races wondering around. Some looked at her questionably though, perhaps because she was small and with a Kehora? Nah. She saw some stalls with different food, and smelt smells that were new, and made her tummy rumble. She then turned to Oblivion said, "Mama packed some snacks and food if you want some." She lifted the pack off of her shoulders and held it up for him to see, "I don't know how you feel about sweet cakes, but Mama packed a few of her's!"

Sam and Carrion - Feral OrakovansCompany: None Position: Merchant StallsNote: Sam and Carrion will probably be together for the duration of the event. So, if you get one, you get both! XD
Sam glowered at the mist-covered rocks as they peeked up over the horizon. For all that this should be an amazingly chipper, rare occasion, he found himself particularly embittered. Why he was going to Ayr in such a state was beyond him. Maybe he thought the miraculous sights, and the large group of others clustered about was bound to cheer him up, but for now, he could only dwell on how he'd left Serenia...
At the time, he'd been more than pleased with his endeavors while on the Orderite's continent. He'd accomplished quite a bit, and having his son by his side was an added bonus, even if Carrion did get them into trouble every now and then. But as Sam practiced with his new weapon (Carrion hadn't been impressed with his skills with the scythe, yet...), the little Ayrala dropped some grievous news on him. Right there in the wilderness, still soaked in dragon blood.
His child was leaving him. Off to explore the world, away from home and out from under his father's wing. The Gaili didn't understand, not one bit. But as he glided into the throng of other Khehora and two-leggers, the memory still made him scowl. "Oh, c'mon, Old Man. Lighten up." Carrion told him as he landed at Sam's side. The youngster had kept quiet for most of the trip, which was a miraculous feat for Carrion. But out in public again, made him feel emboldened. Sam scoffed and wandered his way through the crowd, nudging people out of his way with his wings. Carrion trooted along near him, keeping his ruby orbs wide, and his nostrils and ears open to catch all the sights, smells, and sounds. This makeshift camp was much more intriguing than Ashen City! It smelled... sooty and funny there, but here! Mmm... Snacks...

Oblivion - Feral Diabi Company: Avani Position: Observation Station Levi rose back to his claws after Avani scrambled from atop him, giving a tiny shake of his head in refusal. "I'm sure you'll be wanting to explore a bit before we settle." He replied, leaning down to give her an encouraging nudge forward with his nose. And he was officially appointing himself as her guardian until he carted her back home. Avani was young and small and definitely needed someone to defend her amongst these agressive two-leggers, with their funny magical powers and weaponry. He swung his tail out to scoop her near him.
Besides, he hadn't come here to sleep, rest, or relax! There would be time for that tomorrow, or maybe the next day... Or whenever the excitement of the festivities was over. Anyway, it would be nearly impossible to get comfortable with so many strangers hanging about... Not to mention the new smells. Someone, somewhere was making food close by... And Levi found that he was a bit hungry after the journey... He couldn't help but perk up a bit as Avani offered him snacks. He'd never tasted two-legger food that he couldn't stomach, but he was weary nonetheless.
He pressed his maw against the pack that contained these 'sweet cakes' Avani spoke of and inhaled deeply, catching the sticky sweet scent of sugar rising up to meet him. Well, Avani liked it. And she was a kid. Kids were picky. Surely she wouldn't lie to him about whether food was tasty or not... At least, not after the trip he'd made! He nodded slowly, hesitantly. "I think... I would like to try it." He replied, leaning back to sit on his haunches.

Fluffesu wahmbulance I has no clue how a Khehora would eat a sweet cake xD Avani - Orderite Farmer Apprentice Company: Oblivion Position: Observation Station
Avani was surprised when she was nudged forward by Oblivion, allowed to explore, and then a little scared as his tail came out and gathered her near. But it didn't last long, and she felt safe as the Khehora placed her nearer to him. As much as she loved being able to explore, she was glad she felt safe around Oblivi. She smiled up at him and said, "OK! After we eat a bit!"She watched as Oblivion sniffed her pack and giggled a little. She wondered if he could smell things she could not... Oh well, time to explore that thought later, right now her tummy was demanding! She dug around in her sack, and pulled out two of the four sandwiches she was given that day, the jug of sheron milk, and the tin of cakes. She looked at the tin, and then at Oblivi. He was rather big, would one be enough for him? She smiled and said, "I have sandwiches too, with Sheron milk!" She closed the sack, and opened the tin first. There were several small cakes inside, and she picked one up and offered one to Oblivion. Mama's cakes were famous back where she used to live before she moved. She wondered if Oblivion would like it... she didn't know anything about Khehora diets... well other than they must like sheron.... As Oblivion took the cake she offered, she licked her fingers of the frosting, and then ate one herself. Who said you couldn't eat dessert first besides Mama's and Papa's? She then unwrapped a sandwich, her favorite of melted sheron cheese and cooked sheron meat in a sauce Papa had made himself, with onions and peppers. She again licked her fingers and took a swig of milk. She had some money for food, but she would rather share the milk and food with Oblivi if he didn't have any money. She then offered the other sandwich to Oblivi, along with the milk, wondering if that would be enough for the big Khehora. "If you need more to eat, I have some extras, and some coins for something if you need it!" She smiled brightly at him, happy to be in the company of a good friend.

Kadryn: in Merchant Stalls(She's bought items from Arick, which you guys can do too, just make sure there's 300 words for the purchase! And post in the shop linking to the post.) Kadryn took a break from helping out at the stall and watching Kirosh tease all the people how came to buy. Wandering out into the festival, she smiled. Last time she’d been at a festival she’d been very small and had meet Maslin. Of course, I’m still stuck near my family’s food stall just like last time! She’d heard from some of the others that Arick was here and selling. Having never ben to the man’s shop, she was curious about it. Shed heard from Kirosh that most of the Tribe traded with him, and Arick supplied the banished and hybrids with supplies as well. Wonder what fun things he has in his shop. She thought with a smile as she dodged around in the swirling crowds. Purchasing a few items from a drink vendor, she asked if he could direct her to Aricks stall. The man grinned and pointed to a rocky tent like structure. “He’s there, been lots of people taking this chance to buy things!” “Probably cause a lot of us are never around when he visits our home town I guess! Or too busy with work.” Kadryn responded with a smile and wave as she meandered on over. Entering into the rock tent she grinned. So much stuff! She wasn’t much of a shopper… unless it was shopping for food or gear. Speaking of which, she thought with s mile as she spotted a pile of rope. We’re gonna need some of that. As she grabbed the rope, she saw a small leather pack filled with thin metal tools. A lock picking set! Kirosh had one; maybe I should get one of my own. I can splurge, I do have some coins stashed away from helping out at the café and all those dragon souls….. She happily gathered up some other tools too. She needed a new cauldron, hers had been through a lot and was dented. As she walked to the counter to buy, her eyes caught a pile of books amid the racks of strange hunting trophies and piles of herbs. What are these? She flipped through a few of them. Most of them were books on how to enchant things and there were these weird cooking recipes. Well, these seem interesting! Won’t hurt to try right? She grabbed a few of the ingredients listed in the cooking ones and headed t the counter. Happy with her loot, she stashed most of them in her bag and inside the cauldron for easier carrying. As she left she spotted the Khehorian she’d meet only recently.. what was his name.. Sam? Sammy? … Sameal! That’s right! She trotted over and poked him in the side with a grin. “Hello again Sameal!”

Erionda shook her head, it was near impossible to get her daughter to react to anything these days. It was like she had considered her own family dead, what a horrible feeling for something her age. Her heart ached not with her own pain, but for the pain her daughter must feel. Reaching out to brush Liliths stray bangs behind an ear she moved to turn her to face her again. "Unfortunately this is a hard lesson your going to have to learn Lil. I was hoping this world that He of all people weren't so callous that he could hurt you that way. Hurt us like that. But we are stronger for it." She paused locking eyes with her small child. "No we aren't." Lilith retorted. "Yes we are, this will make us stronger. I promise, I'll help to guide you and show you all that you need to know. You have so many hidden talents." Erionda pressed her index finger against Liliths chest over her heart. "And I can teach you about the Orderites and the Dovaa I can even take you to see the great celestial plane." Lilith gave her mother a cold stare. "I trusted them and they did this!" Stomping her foot Lilith pushed away from her mother. "Family isn't supposed to give up on the other." Turning away Lilith scampered off into the camp. Erionda stood there with a numbing sensation, leaning on her older Khehora for support. "What do I do here? And don't you tell me I told you so." With a snort Uassae nudged Erionda's shoulder. "Well I wont because you've already said the words for me. I say we find Junjie, he's always been a comfort and a friend. You can rely on him more than anyone." Darting around large frames of hybrids Lilith felt her chest tighten. Her eye's stinging from trying to hold back her own sorrow. She wasn't aware of where she was going. Or who was around her, not until she found herself running head first into a taller Hybrid. Squeaking as she fell backwards Lilith looked up to see who she had run into. A dark skinned hybrid, his eyes matched her hidden one and horns. From the looks of him maybe he was an Oblivionite mixed with a Dovaa? She hadn't met him before.

Sam and Carrion - Feral OrakovansCompany: Kadryn Position: Merchant StallsSam turned as a faintly familiar voice reached his ears, and he was greeted with the sight of a blue, grinning woman. He did his best to muster up a friendly smile of his own, despite how much it felt like a chore. Not that it wasn't nice to see a familiar face (that was why he was here, after all), but he couldn't shake his negativity. "Hello, Kadryn," He greeted, coaxing the smallest of smiles onto his lips. Already it seemed like forever since he'd last seen this woman, but after how they'd last greeted each other, she wasn't exactly easy to forget. He blinked at her overstuffed pack. "Doing a bit of shopping while you're here?" He questioned with amusement. As nice as it would be to pick up a few trinkets, he wasn't personally up for lugging around his finds all day long, and then back to Eowyn as well. He shook his head. Maybe on his next trip away from home.
Meanwhile, Carrion scowled. Of all the people he'd ever met in his entire life, Kadryn and her dark-skinned companion were by far his least favorite. The fact that she could be so chipper after what had happened between them on their first meeting only annoyed him further. She'd even had the audacity to pop him on the nose like a misbehaving child! When he wasn't even in the wrong! Although, last time he'd hunkered behind his old man, just like a child would... Today, after much training on Serenia, he was confident that it was no longer necessary. He was going off on his own, after the festival, anyway. He may as well act like it. He stepped up to Sam's side, straightening his neck and righting his shoulders. He was still only eye-level with the short woman, but hopefully she could feel the full force of his hate-filled glare on her. "Kadryn." He greeted stonily.
