Beginning Deciding to take a break from your training and lessons, you have wandered off to the sea side. How you travel to the shore is up to your imagination, but when you have finally arrived at your designation it is late afternoon. As you stroll along the sandy shore and enjoy the soothing sounds of the waves beating upon the shore, a glimmer inland catches your eye. Looking towards it you see what ever sparkled has vanished into a dark opening in the rocky hillside next to you. As you wander over towards the hill, you can see that while it might be a tight squeeze, you think you can enter into the dark tunnel beyond.
Please write your reactions to this prompt and reasons for being here. If you decide to leave without entering, then give a reason why and go to Quit. If you wish to continue inside the tunnel, also give a reason why and go to Entering. Maybe he did need to get out of the house more often... As much as Tohru was starting to despise the outside world, he was quick to learn that if he didn't take the initiative and go on his own, he'd have to go with Kasen. As much as the Kiandri dearly loved his brother, adventuring with the older boy was terrifying, and he often did things Tohru didn't really approve of. Their last dunkel adventure had had Tohru slaying a few of the poor creatures in their sleep. Something about that had just seemed wrong and terrible. And teh youngster quickly found that he never really wanted to do it again. So, rather than wait for Kasen to come home and pluck him up and take him out to do all sorts of nefarious things, Tohru had decided to depart before his brother returned. Even Tennor had opted to stay behind, much to the Kiandri's disappointment.
The outside world was scary, especially when he was on his own. The port city was very close to where they lived, and Kasen had often regaled him of his tales from inside the city, but Tohru had virtually no interest in such things. Too many people. Surely any one of them could see what a horrible mistake he was and want to lash out at him for it... So, no. Rather than go directly into town, the Dovaa skirted around it, finding himself walking along the beach. Feeling the sand squish through his toes was a pleasant and welcome feeling. And the beach seemed much safer than if he'd went the other way into the Terra Expanse! Everything seemed natural and normal... The sound of the waves against the sand, the wind whirling about, and the chirping of sea birds... He'd even go so far as to call it enjoyable...
But wait? A glance off to the side revealed something sparkling, that wasn't water or sand. Whatever it was had disappeared quickly, though, vanishing through a hole in a rocky outcrop. Tohru hesitantly took a step toward it. In a place like this, it seemed unlikely that anything dangerous would be lurking... And something glistening like that surely couldn't be evil. Why not follow it? He was supposed to be on an adventure, after all...

Entering As you squeeze into the dark tunnel, you can see a little in front of you. There are small animal tracks in the dirt beneath you. Wiggling your way slowly through the tunnel, you come upon a side tunnel. Both trails have animal tracks, though the path forward seems more traveled. Will you continue forward or turn and go down the side tunnel? Or have you had enough and want to crawl backwards and leave?
Once again, please respond to this prompt, what are your character's thoughts and feelings as they travel through this dark cramped tunnel.
If you A) go forward, Go to "A: Forward," B) go down the side tunnel, Go to "B: Side Tunnel" Tohru still couldn't help but feel a bit apprehensive as he ducked down into the hole. On the up side, whatever made it must be very small, so maybe it was nonviolent too? As the Kiandri glanced down, he couldn't help but have his thoughts solidified. There were tiny animal tracks in this hole, skittering all about! The tiny little paw prints instantly made Tohru think that something adorable was at the end. Maybe it was kind of like Tennor and it would follow him around if he found it? As he crawled forward through the dark cavern, a second splodge of darkness caught his eye. A second tunnel... This one seemed less traveled... Maybe there was more than one creature in here? Tohru didn't want to run into too many of them... Maybe as a group they were violent...

B: Side Tunnel Deciding to take this side tunnel, you squirm about and crawl through this tight space. As you squirm through the dark twisting tunnel; its rough walls scratch you with the sharp protruding rocks.
As you travel along this path you notice that it gradually slopes downwards. After a while, you see the darkness lighten. There is something ahead of you! As you crawl faster towards the light you finally see the tunnel suddenly open up.
RP response then go to "Cavern Room" If that was the case, he needed to take the path less traveled. Surely the end result would be much more welcoming. The little Kiandri twisted about in the tunnel, changing positions so that he could more readily climb through the side entrance. This tunnel was even smaller and darker, and as he crawled along, he could feel the rocks digging into him, scraping up his hands, knees, and cheeks. Usually, that alone would've made him want to turn back, but somehow, he felt like he'd come a long way, and going back through the tunnel backwards... That just didn't seem like a good idea. So, he pressed on. Eventually, he could feel the tiny path sloping down. They were so close to the beach... Hopefully the water couldn't reach him from here... He'd surely drown if he got stuck... But soon, the darkness crept away, lightening ever so slightly as the tunnel opened forth!

Cavern Room Looking around at your surroundings you see a small cavern light up from a hole in the ceiling. Tree roots have forced their way into this cave and opened up a path for light and water. A small pond has formed beneath the opening. In the middle of it you see a tiny island. It is covered in junk. Some rags, broken bottles and broken jewelry. Also amid the pile you can spot something sparkling in the light. The only openings that you can leave or enter this room from are from a tunnel that comes out half way up the wall or a tunnel that leads off into the dark again.
What do you do? What are your character's thoughts? Do you: A) Approach the pond and its pile? Go to "Loot" B) Leave? Go to "Leaving B" if you wish go out the tunnel halfway up the cavern wall or "Leaving A" if you wish to go out the tunnel in the wall. The tunnel opened up, revealing a somewhat more spacious room. Tohru glanced toward the top, his little mouth opening in an 'O' of surprise. Tree roots had reached this room! They were cracking open the earth from above! And quite frequently the tiny 'plink' of a water droplet falling into the pond below could be heard. This room was... amazing! Light enough for him to see by, beautiful because of how many of the world's elements it contained, but also... a little filthy. Tohru clambered from the tunnel and stood. The drippings had created nearly an entire pond, and sitting out in the middle of it was a tiny island of sparkling trash bits.

Loot! Approaching the pile, you wade through the cold pond waters. It is not deep and you can see small fish swim away from your noisy intrusion. As you reach the pile, you can see it is mostly rocks and trash gathered by some small creature, but amidst the trash you find an Ayrala and Peisio Dragon Orb! (one for each participant)
Now to leave. Go to "Leaving B" if you wish go out the tunnel in the middle of the wall or "Leaving A" if you wish to go out the tunnel in the wall. Tohru approached the pile curiously. The waters from the pond were only about knee-deep. Nothing he needed to be afraid of. Despite this secluded place, there were even tiny fishes swimming about in the water. The Kiandri barely had a chance to marvel at them, though, before they darted away. Tohru wandered up onto the island, curiously observing the pile. A lot of it seemed to be shining wrappers and bits of cloth with sequins on them. Whatever creature had made this sure had an affinity to sparkling things! But as Tohru picked up a cloth, he uncovered something he never thought he'd see lying about amongst trash... It was only about the size of his feet, and was such a luminous shade of gray that he had to pick it up. An Ayrala Dragon Orb! What was it doing out here? Further inspection of the pile revealed a second orb, Peisio this time. There didn't seem to be anyone to claim them, and they deserved better than to be out here with this other trash... So, Tohru pocketed them.

Leaving A As you leave the cave behind you and crawl through the dark winding tunnel the sharp rocks protruding from the walls scratch and gouge you. It gradually slopes upwards, back towards the surface. After a while, you reach another tunnel. Looking down you can see the tracks that you made earlier. Following them out, you squeeze out back onto the surface. The sun is now on the horizon. Tohru smiled at his new findings. But now... It was probably time he headed home. He could go out the way he came, but... There were a few other tunnels on the other side of the room. Feeling bold, he decided to try one of them out. It was nearly the same size as the one he'd come in through, much to his displeasure, and the stones poked and prodded at him all the while. But soon, the tunnel headed back upwards, and as Tohru continued on, he noticed another tunnel, one that had the tracks he'd created earlier by dragging his knees. He followed them, still grinning, and was relieved to find his way back to the surface. The sky was a glorious shade of orange-pink, which meant... It would be dinner time soon! Kasen would've gotten home long ago, and was probably wondering where he was! With a surprised squeak, Tohru ran back across the sand. He didn't want to be caught away from home in the darkness again!
