Aslinn had awoken bright and early; she changed into a black t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans. She slid a amulet around her neck and she felt the magic taking effect right away. She had already packed her bags for the human world. Against the urging of her peers she'd intended to find a mate in the human realm. Since her sister had fought unfairly and attempted to use others to kill her she decided none of the men in her village were trustworthy enough. As her father was dying he'd announced that Asinn was to be his successor despite being the second born, and when he passed her sister Keira had disputed the claims. Seeing no end to the anger of Keira the elders had decided they'd fight until one either caved or died. Three months of fighting later no one had caved they were too evenly matched. Finally Keira had tricked several males in the village to try and kill her. When the attempt was found out Keira had been exiled.
Aslinn's father ran a successful jewelry business in the human world. Most of his clients were creatures in need of amulets to hide their true form or humans wealthy enough to afford his services. It had taken a few weeks to plan the trip but she'd eventually told the village that she was going to the human world for several months in order to find a mate. She'd wanted a human as her mate for several reason; they would be unknowing of her position, and she'd be better equipped to fight them back if things ever turned violent.
She'd left that morning and made it several hours later into town. She had rented out a loft for her stay in the human world and furnished it several weeks prior. When she arrived she had dropped her belongings off and unpacked them before she'd left to go exploring the city. She intended to pop in on her fathers store and see how things were coming along before she met one of her human friends who was in on the family secret in order to figure out the best places to meet males.
She made her way into a bookstore and casually scanned the shelves hoping to find something that she could use to find her way around the city. She had a soft white messenger bag hanging on her shoulder as she fiddled with her phone. To an average human she'd appear as a blond woman with her hair crammed under a beret; if anything she looked like a wannabe rich girl. Her clothing was nice but it lacked the obvious flashing that most of the wealthy youth used to showcase their money. She'd scanned the shelves but thus far came up empty handed. "You'd think i'd at least find something here that would be interesting." she wound up mumbling to herself truly unable to find anything that would pique her interests at this moment.

Name: Cody Rivera Age: 18 Race: Human Appearance:
Cody was working in the book shop his uncle owned, he didn't know anything about anything outside of the human realm. He liked working in the shop and reading, and when he wasn't reading, he usually liked listening to audio books or music when he went on runs. He liked his small life that he had, since he did his best to keep himself entertained. He wasn't the best with dating because many girls in this city didn't seem to interest him or he had grown up with them to where he found that they had gained other relationships.
Cody was putting away a few books when he noticed a women he had never seen in his shop before looking at a few books and talking to himself. He climbed down from the ladder and walked over to her, "Welcome to Browse around books... can I help you find anything?" he asked curiously to her, wondering what he could do to help her find what she needed.
Aslinn had roamed the store for a while unable to find anything. She'd stopped for a few moments to try sorting out what she wanted. She became engrossed in thought when suddenly a male appeared and asked if he could assist her. She snapped out of her thoughts and jumped incredibly shocked by his sudden appearance. "y-yes. I-i was hoping to find some books on art, and do you have any on minerals or gemstones." Aslinn had decided she'd need some art books to help her. Since her father ran a jewelry store Aslinn had grown up knowing the family trade and been educated in business. She wanted the art books to help her design pieces for the store since she now ran the store.

Cody looked at her seeing her jump from him speaking, "Im sorry about surprising you." he said kindly but hearing what she asked, he thought it over, "Oh, yes we do, those are over here." He said as he went and lead her to where she could find the books that she was looking for, "So was their anything else that you were looking for?" He asked curiously to her.
Asinn frowned when he apologized and quickly explained everything "no need to say sorry i just got lost in thought." When he led her to the books she smiled and began looking at some of the titles. "no i think this should be all i need." Once that was done she methodically began pulling titles off the shelf until she had close to fifteen titles. "I think that'll do it." She had only gotten enough books to start off, she knew that she'd need more but she figured it was a good start. Once she had the books she walked over to the counter and set the titles down. Once this was done she needed to figure out where the rosebud cafe was.

Cody looked at her when she spoke but he gentpy nodded and went back to putting away books till he heard her at the front. He walked over and began to ring up the books, "Thats a lot of books... if you want, i could offer yiu a good deal since your buying so many... we have a loyalty club that could help you save if you ever want to come pick up more books." He offered kindly to her, "By the way, i havent seen you on the streets before, new to the city? Need help finding anything?" He asked kindly, it was a small sized city and he was use to seeing many faces but he had never noticed her in this area before.
When Cody rang her up for the books she laughed at the mention of a loyalty club "I may wind up needing that. This rate i'll be starting a library eventually" When he rang her up she handed over her business credit card and listened to him. Wen he asked if she needed help finding something she smiled. "I'm not necessarily new to the city but... not old either. I've been her a few times with my dad while he was working but not often enough to leave a good impression on me. Do you think you could show me where the rosebud cafe is i'm supposed to be meeting someone there?" Aslinn felt perfectly fine with what she'd told the boy, if he were to probe deeper she might humor him with more information but for now what she shared was the ideal amount of information.

Cody looked at her but soon gave her a card that looked a bit simple but it was then he ran her credit card before he thought it over, "The Rosebud Cafe, oh yeah, you go down main street here, take a right, then a left where you should be able to find it about a block or two." he said kindly to her.
She took the card from the Cody then it dawned on her. When she got her credit card back she handed the boy a card as well. On the card it read Lars Perry owner and opperator of 'Animal Instincts Jewlery . On the bottom of the card Aslinn had printed her name and scribbled out Lars lightly. "I kind of haven't had time to get updated business cards yet but, if you get any good gemology or art books give that number a call." The news had reported months ago that the wealthy Lars Perry had died and since a brief interview with the living family which included Aslinn and her sister Reya, no one had really seen them. Everyone assumed they either sold the business or had someone else managing the stores.
She grabbed the books and loaded them into her bag before she spoke to the boy. "Thank you for the directions. I'm Aslinn and I hope to see you again soon." She extended her hand and shook his before she left for the cafe unaware shed forgotten one of her books.

Cody looked at her when she spoke, but when he looked at the card she handed to him, he thought it over, "Oh yeah, Mr. Perry, He was a friend to my uncle, he came and helped out the book store a lot but I never knew much about his store, my uncle said that it was for special clients and richer folk." He said but then when she said her name, he nodded, "Its a pleasure to meet your Aslinn, my names Cody." he said kindly to her as she left but after a few minutes he had noticed that she left a book. Knowing where she was going, he locked the door and put the back in 20 minutes. He walked down to the cafe, thinking that he would have caught her before but he didn't see her on the way so he figured she was there so he walked inside looking around for her.
Aslinn had followed the directions he'd given her with ease. She eventually spotted the cafe. She knew her dad did alot of work in this town, but knew nothing about the book store. She'd only been in town on several occasions and it was for special reasons. Her family had always been a loving one for the most part. It wasn't until her fathers death that Aslinn had learned just how mean and cruel Keira was. Their father had given them the best education and items money could buy but it wasn't much help. Reya had slacked off and coasted while Aslinn had nearly double the amount of private tutors.
As Aslinn sat in the cafe waiting on her friend she thought back to the last conversation she'd had with her dad. "Why are you giving me the company and the village father.. if anything it should go to Keira or at least one of them should." Lars looked at her and grasped her hand in his before speaking "she was first born which means that she should've gotten them yes.... however you are five years younger and by far smarter than her. I gave you both the same opportunities and she squandered hers. Though you do not see it she is lazy and self centered. She expects the silver spoon to be placed in her mouth. You came into the world with the assumption you'd get nothing after i died so you studied long and hard wanting to become as smart as possible so you would have a good life, Keira assumed she'd be pampered her whole life" After he spoke he dismissed her from his quarters and died hours later. It wasn't until his will reading that Aslinn had seen just what he ment. She had never intended to harm her sister or even throw her out but the way her sister spoke made it seem as if Aslinn had swindled her way into the family business.
Aslinn was still alone by the time Cody showed up. She was sitting in a far corner table while a waiter spoke asking her what she wanted. "for now just a tea; I'm expecting company and i'm not sure when they've last eaten." Once the man left Aslinn had pulled one of the books out of her bag right as she noticed Cody holding the book. She stood up and spoke out to the boy "Cody did I forget something?" She felt somewhat bad if he'd come all that way just to give her a book she walked towards the boy feeling embarassed she'd left something behind.

Cody noticed her when she got up but he nodded a bit, "Yeah you forgot this book but i needed an excuse to get some lunch, and i always wanted to try this diner." He said reassuringly as he adjusted his glasses a bit but then went to go sit down, deciding that he bothered her enough he went to a seat not that far away but far enough where he wouldnt bother her and not ease drop.
