OOC: As many of you know, I am deeply dissatisfied with the way that Gaia has been treating its users. As a result, I am looking for other areas to be a home to the guildhall. Please note that this does not mean that we are shutting down here. We are not. We will continue to stay open for as long as there is a Gaia to host us, but I can no longer allow Gaia to be the Disciple's Guildhall's only home. The site that I have been scouting is called Syndrone. It has recently decided to develop guilds, so I will finally be able to create the place that I have been wanting to, there. Consequently, the guildhall will not be able to be as... Stationary as it once was. As a result, there will be certain modifications to the guildhall's shape, dimensions, and mobility. I will be explaining all of this in-story along with the events of the RP. If you have questions, you may as them here but I insist that you preface them with "OoC:" or make the entire posts in double-parentheticals. "((Example.))" Meanwhile, if you have been RPing here, you are welcome to continue to do so in this thread and react. Your character you can either have been asked to leave the guildhall, temporarily or you can just be returning from elsewhere. In-character, this will be coming as a surprise to no one, however, as Matasoga will have announced his plans ahead of time and there will be plenty of advanced warning for everyone to retrieve their things and make plans of their own.

Matasoga stood waiting at the edge of his property line as his followers stood, restless. It was suspected that not necessarily all of them would have a home within the guildhall when all was said and done. Arms crossed and wings at rest, his tail was the only thing that belied his anxiety, as it twitched, intermittently.

Shanderaa stood beside Matasoga, wondering what exactly would happen next. This'd for sure, at the very least, be unlike anything the guild had ever experienced, but besides that it felt like anything could happen tonight. She got a bit closer to her master, sensing that maybe he was perhaps a bit worried, too.

It was only a few minutes of tense silence more before something occurred. In what most scholars of the arcane would know to be a needlessly spectacular flash of light, a figure appeared. As the light show subsided, it was revealed that she was of thin build and in a very hammy pose. She was dressed in finery and ostentation to the extreme. She was of an indeterminate age with long, silvery white hair and eyes that, as she opened them, were so vividly green that they almost seemed to glow. "Taika... Has arrived," she announced, when the last of the light had faded. Some of Matasoga's least experienced followers broke into applause. It faded quickly when he turned his head to look at them. He turned back to look at her, with a quite dour and deeply unimpressed expression and observed "You're late." It was unclear whether Matasoga was thus because of his strict adherence to schedules or because he so hated being outdone. "And you," she said putting her hand to her chest, as though deeply offended "Are no fun, as usual." Taika was considered by many to be the head of the local arcane community and was, unarguably a mage of epic power. "You're lucky I even agreed to come here to do this, pay or no pay," she said. Turning sing song, she said "I'm a very busy woman and I haven't got all day." "Shanderaa," he said, ignoring her. "This is Taika. Taika, this is my lieutenant and Queen of the Apostles, Shanderaa."

"Er, hey. Nice to meet you." Or at least she thought so. Was that even appropriate, given master's clear disdain for this woman? But it would be rude to not at least say something close to polite. ... Social situations, unwinnable as always. She refocused her attention to the task at hand. "And um, who are you, exactly?"

With a very grave look she put her fingers to her lips and said very quickly and lowly, "Oh me oh my, weren't you listening?" With a snap a tin listening horn appeared in Shanderaa's ear and she leaned in and repeated "I'm Tai-ka," She then turned away, and said, "The great and powerful Taika, the most powerful blah blah, and so forth." Without missing a beat she looked over her shoulder and said, "Oh, and the horn is yours to keep."

"Eeeep!" she squeaked in shock. What... what the heck?! Seriously?! Did that really just happen?! A few seconds of silence passed. She didn't dare follow her first impulse to be snarky right back, as master almost certainly had paid this... "lady" a large sum to do whatever kind of magic was required. A slow and careful reword was in order.
Gathering her wits and holding her tongue as best she could, she elaborated. "Well, I gathered that much..." she said, examining the horn, still bewildered at what had just occured. "But what is it that you do?"

But within the first of several seconds of silence she had already turned her attention back to Matasoga and did not her Shanderaa's words. All the same, she would have her answer, soon. Suddenly, she was serious. "So you're sure you want to do this? As you know, I can't cause any effect to the guildhall directly, as I'd have almost no arcane ability while in your place of power. Since this is your place of power, however, just as I said when we spoke earlier, I can channel my spells through you, because you're willing and it is an arcane spell, while on the outside of your property, so long as we're making physical contact... But your body definitely isn't accustomed to conducting spells so powerful as what you're asking. We can conclude that casting three wish spells won't kill you, but I expect it will hurt a good bit and require probably a week's bed rest. You're certain you want to proceed?" Matasoga was focusing his attention on trying to ignore the indignity that his Queen had suffered, well aware that Taika was wont to ignore all titles of nobility and prestige, as it was within her ability to usually get away with it. He heard her words, and it was all information that he already knew, but it was still gravely received. He nodded slowly. "Are you ready?" she asked. "I am," he replied. As this was going on, from beneath her trailing robes a large toad had emerged. In all senses of the word it appeared to be a perfectly ordinary toad except that it was about the size of Matasoga's hands and it wore a little black bowler between it's raised eyes.

Shanderaa quietly pouted and harrumphed to herself, thoroughly humiliated. Just who did this chick think she was?! Even so, she thought it best to just take it for now. The plan was being discussed, and she listened along.
She bristled visibly at the notion of this woman making any form of extended physical contact with Matasoga, the sting made especially worse by what had just transpired. But that was soon eclipsed by the idea that this process would almost definitely severely hurt him. Now she was suddenly very worried. She looked over to her master, eyes full of concern.

Matasoga said, "It would be best to avoid the wings. They're alchemical and at least partially extraplanar, part of me or no. You might find them harder to attune to." He held out his arms and said, "Best take my hands." She did so and said, "What is your first wish? And don't forget to speak it with exceptional care." Matasoga was silent for a moment. "I wish that the lich-ship Graveyard was enhanced to the greatest ability of the spell, that it's arcane engines capacity becomes greater, it's size more vast, and any hidden abilities or untapped potential become as fully unlocked as the power of this spell allows. This is my first wish." For a moment there was nothing. Then Matasoga's eyes clenched shut, his wings unfurled and his tail writhed. Next his knees buckled, and he fell to them, his hands still in hers. Then the ship broke it's deathly stillness and silence in exchange for violent shuddering and unearthly creaking. Slowly, and only in silhouette against the backdrop of an urban night sky, pipes slowly pushed their way out of the back of the bottom of the floating airship, which was indeed growing longer, and wider. The prow split and warped as a masthead of indeterminate shape took form. Then from the masthead and the newly formed pipes, ropey tendrils shot forth and wound their way around the guildhall. "Your wish has been granted," she said quietly, never lessening her air of showmanship.

She watched from a distance, the sight of her master holding hands with this other woman sparking what even she knew was a very petty type of jealousy. It was required for the magic of the wish to work. Probably. She hoped.
After the wish was spoken, it didn't seem like anything was happening. Hmph. Maybe this Taika wasn't as great and powerful as she fancied herself. But no sooner had she thought that was all doubt removed. She saw Matasoga in visible agony the very next instant. She instinctively wanted to rush over to him, but fought against it. Interference would almost certainly ruin this process, and then it'll all be for nothing. So she hung back, hoping with some misguided idealism that this was the worst of it and it'd all be over soon. But this was only the first wish. 2 more remained...

Matasoga looked back at the shape of the lich-ship. His keen draconic eyes picked out more detail. It was as he had hoped... With other additions. Those fleshy looking tendrils were a surprise. Might they be mohrg tongues? This would be exciting to investigate and study later, but now was no time to become distracted. "Are you ready to make your second wish?" Taika asked. He hadn't noticed how hard he'd been breathing, nor the enervation or pain, since he noticed the changes that the ship had undergone. But he couldn't stop, now. He knew this was the best time and he couldn't lose his momentum. "My second wish is that the rooms of the guildhall be reconfigured and reshaped to the design that I have in mind," he said. He had poured over the floor plan, checked for structural soundness and memorized each and every line of the layout. He closed his eyes tightly and used all of his will and powers of concentration to fill his mind with the floor plan that he had designed, floor by floor, visualizing every inch and trying to guide the energy that would tear through him into moving things into the desired shape. The pain and enervation came again, worse this time, but he clenched his teeth and fought not to lose his concentration. When the agony abated he felt the soreness in his tail and realized that it had been thrashing against the ground. He ignored this and tried to catch his breath as he cast his gaze at the now much smaller guildhall. "Your second wish has been granted," Taika said, in the same way as she had before, while her familiar looked on, passively.

The second wish was spoken. Shanderaa prepared for the worst, and worse was indeed what it was. What Matasoga was going through now looked unimaginably excruciating. Was wish 3 going to be even worse than this? That Taika said the wishes wouldn't kill him, but... ...she didn't even want to think about that. Her attention laser focused on him and fighting the urge to dash in and provide comfort, she almost didn't notice the guildhall seemed to be shrinking...

Matasoga was feeling dizzy. Light-headed and bleary-eyed, his focus was suffering. He shook his head clear, but only with great pain and difficulty. He could not afford to make any mistakes. This was to be the trickiest of all of them to word without disastrous consequences. He had his designs assessed by several experts in the field and went through several revisions just to be sure that it's flight would be stable and theoretically secure. He was silent, his labored breathing aside as he meditated for a full minute on his plans, and visualizing the smallest of details. Nothing was unimportant that made it to paper in his designs. He blinked hard, forced himself to calm his breathing, and braced himself. "I wish that the Guildhouse be rebuilt, brick for brick in it's current, relative location, upon and within the ship itself, rather than it's current foundation, in exact accordance to my will and the plans that I have made," he said. That was his last moment of full consciousness. He watched as his beloved guildhall was dismantled, "brick by brick" (as the spell had taken that part literally, though afterward they seemed to be just as true, sure, and stable as they had been before, rather than bricks simply laying atop each other) and reassembled with incredible speed exactly as it had appeared before, except for the buildings location. It only took about a minute, but Matasoga was only conscious for the first half. After the spell had been cast and the magic begun its work, his hands slipped out of Taika's and he fell, as if in slow motion (due to the effects of the ring that he wore). Taika stepped back so as not to be in the path of his fall.

Shanderaa continued to watch and wait, anticipation and worry making every second feel like an hour. She dreaded what this next wish would do to her beloved master. He didn't look like he was going to make it much longer, as it was. "Just one more wish, and it will all be over," she tried to assure herself. "Just one more."
And then it was spoken. The third and final wish.
She didn't see the results of it. Not right away at least. Her attention was fully focused on Matasoga. A sadistically long half minute passed, and then... she saw him collapse. That was the final straw. She couldn't hold back anymore. With swiftness she had never before displayed even in her most intense training sessions, she rushed over to him at full speed, but abruptly stopped just short of him. The spell wasn't over with yet. Or... was it? The physical contact had been broken, but it seemed like the magic was very much still at work. Was it okay to do something, anything now?
She had no idea, but absolutely had to know. Feeling helpless and confused, but determined to do something to help, she looked up from her master's unconscious form up to Taika. "Is it... is he... can I...?" she tried and failed to articulate. She didn't care about looking like an idiot this time, but it was of critical importance to Matasoga that a coherent sentence be formed right now. Putting on her best formal, serious queen voice (something she still wasn't exactly a professional at), she restated. "Ahem... ...Is the process complete, now?"
