 It had been a pathetic little bush, hardly worth anyphony's time of day, really. And yet, little Briarthorn couldn't leave it alone. It had been limp, pathetic and yellowing patch of thorns when she had come across it and she had almost passed it by as a lost cause. But she just couldn't let it go. Something about the way it fought, and struggled just to grow on reminded her of her band. And so with a little bit of time, tending and watering, Briar had managed to nurse such a pathetic little blackberry bush into a rather lovely and well established bush. Just a little water, a little love and a whole lot of sunlight.
With a grubby little broken basket she found, the handle had all but completely come off, she had set off on a mission to harvest the fruit of her labors. She wanted to share them with her... well... family. If one could call the carousel phonies a family. So she didn't mind that the basket was mostly broken and that the only way to keep the berries from falling into the gaps in the weave was to use a grubby piece of fabric she had also found. "I bet that Valkyrie will just love these!" Hummed little Briar happily as she filled her basket almost to the brim with ripe, plump, little berries.
She was so wrapped up in what she was doing that she didn't notice when another, small, phony approached her from behind.

 Clopping in the little green female phony was taking in all the areas in her mind. Making some notes on where she would be able to get some ingredients to start her shop when she grew older. But, for now she was still testing on how to make the drinks she would like to share with the Phony world. She had her mind already set on what she was going to do and she would be darned if something would stop her!
Blinking her golden orange eyes the tiny Phony caught eye of a beautiful bush filled with mounds of huge berries. Gasping in air, she was so amazed. "Wow!" Her eyes were wide and her mouth just as wide. "Blackberries! This would be---!" She was stopped on her own tracks as she noticed another phony on the other side of the bush she circled over. "Oh~." She pursed her lips, she wanted to take a berry but from what she saw the other phony was already doing that. "Um, hello." She cocked her head. "Is this your bush?" She asked lowly. Poo. She thought, I was too slow. Somephony has already claimed the bush...maybe if I ask nicely...We'll see... She made a circle on the ground with her front hoof.

The brown earth phony jumped about six feet out of her horsie hide which caused a good amount of her berries to spill onto the ground. Big chartreuse eyes stared down at the mess in a watery fashion. There went Reaper's share of the berries. She thought sadly to herself as she looked up and locked eyes with another phony: A filly that must have been close to her age. Briar blinked rapidly at her for a moment before she plopped down on her rump. A bit of dust puffed up into the ruffles of her saddle, but she didn't seem to notice or mind for that matter.
"Hello," She answered back almost shyly. "You could say that... I found it and took care of it til it got big enough to make berries." From her place on the ground she folded over the corner of the fabric and began to pile the spilled berries onto it. There was no sense letting them go to waste. After all, how was Reaper going to know that they had been on the floor anyway? She would just make sure to be extra careful so that Rose Knight and Valkyrie and the rest of them didn't get any of those. It wasn't as if Reaper didn't deserve dusty berries sometimes.
Again she looked up at the little filly that was busy watching her and making circles in the dirt with her hooves. Her eyes narrowed. "Why?"

The little green phony's ears propped up as she listened carefully at the other phony's explanation on the bush. So, in a way she did kind of owned this bush since she took care of it but she made it sound like in a way she didn't as well. Coming up to her a few paces so she was close but not too close she looked at her and then back at the bush again. "Well...to be honest with you. I would like some of the berries as well, they look so fresh and so wonderful." She bit her lower lip, she wasn't so sure now for saying such things since the bush was already being picked. But, she tried to explain her reasoning now which she was hoping it would help her case.
"To be really honest with you," The phony began, "When I grow up to be a big phony I am planning on opening a juice shop, I was taking down some spots in my head that grow fruits and such that can be blended in nicely for drinks." She nodded to herself in a reassuring sense. "Do you know what I mean?" She chirped hoping she was invading the other's space.

Briarthorn's frowned, her soft nose wrinkled as she took in Dewberry's words. Why should she share? She had taken care of this bush all on her own, when so many others had just passed it by and left it to starve and struggle under the weight of the elements. Her sharp little eyes started at Dewberry, as if her first statements were completely stupid. They were fresh. And they were wonderful. But that didn't mean that she wanted to share the fruit of her labors. Especially not with the amount of hard work she had put into taking care of this runty plant. Least of all she did not want to share with some phony that she didn't know. Her ears flattened back slightly and she stared at the basket, almost completely uninterested in hearing the rest of what the other filly had to say.
However, something changed her mind and the carousel's face softened. "A juice shop?" She ventured, the look of sour grapes having all but evaporated from her face. "No, I don't know what you mean. What do you mean? And why?" It was an interesting thought, but it was also strange that this filly would already know what she wanted to do when she was old enough. So it got the brown filly wondering just what it was that this other filly was thinking.

Delight struck Dewberry's eyes as she saw the spark of interest flicker onto the other foal. After all the chatting she thought she would never get through her at all since she looked so mad before. It was so refreshing. She took a few paces forward and clapped her little feet together in front of her. "Yes!" She nodded. "A juice shop where all the phonies in the land can come and have a refreshing energizing cup of juice of all different flavors!" Then she blushes a little. "Though...I am still experimenting on flavors. Which is one of the reasons why I am looking for all different types of berries and fruits." She eyed Briarthorn's berries again. "Now do you understand? Or do you need me to explain some more?" She looked at her now with a smile.

Enamored by the words that came out of the other Phony's maw, Briarthorn sat transfixed, idly stroking her basked with a dainty hoof. A juice shop. That was really something. A juice shop where you could blend your own flavors to suit your own pallet? A clever venture to say the least. It was a dream. Dreams were nothing short of noble causes. Or at least that was what Briarthorn thought.Gently the brown carousel phony shook her head. No, she understood. She didn't need to anything else to be explained to her.
"No, I understand." She answered calmly. As if she had just remembered it, she looked down at the dirty little basket and then back at Dewberry. Well, it wasn't as if they needed the berries. It wasn't as if they were starving. Everything was relatively stable among their group. It was simply an unneeded treat. That is how the small phony reasoned it. And this filly had a dream! A dream that wouldn't-no- couldn't be achieved without the proper ingredients.
"Here." The small phony pressed her hoof against the basket more firmly then before and slid it forward. "Take them. Just make sure to wash them first, because some of them fell in the dirt." Briar got to her hooves and shook the dust from her saddle. "Oh! My name's Briarthorn, remember me when you start your shop, okay? I would love to be one of your first customers." The filly smiled widely at Dewberry.

The little phony was had wide bright as, shining with admiration as she listened to the other filly finally understanding and not only that she was actually giving her the lovely berries. "I-I...I-" Dewberry was blushing out of pure happiness she just wanted to jolt off the ground and hug Briarthorn but she might have thought that to be quite inappropriate. "Thank you." She whispered with a touch of eagerness. "I will make sure to wash them!" She propped herself over to the basket and smiled. "I will remember you, and I will even make a drink named after you. I'm Dewberry!" She giggled at the thought of making a drink with these type of berries and naming it after the filly. "Thank you again." She took the basket in her mouth and skipped off.
