This Quest is for Zuri who is striving to become a Spearman.
 OOC
||. The quest prompt must be answered with a 2000 word reply (can be more).
||. Respond to the prompt given with an adventure of your own creation as long as it meets the requirements of the specific tasks.
||. NPCs may be used as long as they advance the quest in an interesting manner.
||. You cannot include any playable characters other than the quest taker.
||. Your responses will be graded on a letter grade scale: a grade of D or F will result in repeating the quest process, C or better will result in passing and possible rewards.
||. Questions about quests can be asked here.
IC
A runner cloaked in robes and cloth ran into Jauhar in the dead of night, camouflaged by the blackness of the forest floor and the foliage. He seemed to know where he was going despite the inky blackness spilling around him, though he occasionally tripped or snagged on the grasp of the plants around him. He would periodically look over his shoulder, as if he were being pursued, or afraid of being pursued. It would seem that he had come from the Oban boarder that touched Jauhar, though he wanted to get out of there in a hurry.
He stopped in his run when he had reached the village he was looking for. He turned and craned his head, frantic to find what it was he was here for and took off to the shifter village in the trees, stopping only when he came to the door that he knew was what he was looking for. He knocked with an urgency and clutched what looked to be a rather large egg in his hands.
This egg needed to somehow find its way to Zena and into the hands of Freya, the best Beast Tamer that Tendaji had to be identified. And Zuri had been known for her motherly attitude and protective instincts.
Quest Tasks
||. The egg happens to be from a very large Oban creature that was recovered on a reconnaissance mission as a strategy for war planning.
||. Zuri must keep a close eye on the egg while she travels to Zena to deliver it to Freya.
||. The quest should include the runner who brought Zuri the egg explaining the mission, Zuri's journey to Zena, and end with her delivering the egg to Freya.
||. This quest must include some sort of trouble during the journey.

Part OneIkuri had a nightmare, so she was just putting daughter back to sleep when a knock was at the door. At first she ignored it, hoping that her husband would get the door, but than there was another knock so she went to the door. Opening the door there was a man she had never seen before with a rather large egg in his arms. "Can I help you...?" she asked as she looked around, stepping outside of her home and closing the door behind her. She didn't know this man and she wasn't about to let him into her house where her children and husband lived.
"I'm sorry, Zuri I come with a task for you. You are known as someone who has motherly qualities and since you are half Ice that makes you even more perfect for this task." the shifter male took off his hood and Zuri recognized the man. She didn't know him well, though she was pretty sure that he had something to do with the war efforts.
"Sir you must know that I cannot just leave my family, although I would love to help out I am unable to just drop my life and just go back to Zena." Zena, her homeland, she hadn't been there since she left years ago... Although she wanted to go back she didn't want to leave her family.
"Zuri please, know that if there was anyone we thought we could trust with this task we would've gone to them. One of the members that was with me was from the council of Zena, he couldn't do it himself but he named you as the only person that he trusted. Please Zuri, you have to do this for the good of all of us. For your family and for everyone." he pleaded, holding out the sling that held the egg to her.
Zuri closed her eyes. To be named by a member of the council when she hadn't even been in Zena for years, it meant that they remembered her. It also meant that word of her had traveled. She kind of owed it to her father to go to Zena. And she would only be delivering the egg and than coming back, her husband could take care of the girls for the time it would take. All in all it wouldn't take more than a month for the whole trip. "Let me go tell my husband and write a letter to my girls, and than will set out on this task." she told the man with a sigh. He nodded and she went back into the house.
Zuri found her husband already asleep, so instead of waking him she left him a note as well as one each for her daughters. Leaving them on the kitchen table she kissed him before grabbing a bag and packing a few things. She had traveled this distance before, so she knew that she would find things on the road that she didn't have on her. Walking out of the house she took the sling that held the egg. "Zuri we can not thank you enough. Please bring the egg to Zena, to Freya. You may encounter some trouble, but please. We are all depending on you."
Zuri nodded and grabbed her spear that had been laying outside the house. "I can handle trouble, and do not worry. Go back and tell the others that I will take care of this task. Consider it done." she nodded and with that the Shifter was gone, and seconds later she was as well. It was dark and she knew the forest. The sooner she was in Zena and the egg was delivered the sooner she could be back with her family.

Part TwoAlready Zuri was more almost out of Tale, and she hadn't had any sort of problem. Maybe the shifter had just been warning her just in case. For the most part she traveled at night or at least at dusk. She ate mostly fruits from the small groupings of trees that she found, and other than that she hunted when she could. She didn't leave any traces and occasionally went in random directions to make sure that if she was being followed that they wouldn't have an easy time finding her. Luckily she had been given this quest when Tale was in it's rainy season so she always had water available to her. When she hid during the day she held the egg close to her, making sure that it was warm. She didn't know all that much about animals, but she did know that the sling was padded to keep the egg warm, and she knew that eggs needed to stay warm. It would be horrible if she made it all the way to the Zena and whatever was in the egg was dead.
She had been gone for two weeks and she missed her family more than she could express. She missed the small kisses from her husband, and the endless chatter from her girls. She hadn't ever been away from her husband since they met each other, and she hadn't let the girls for more than two seconds since they were born. This was a lot harder than she had originally thought, the traveling was easy enough but being away from home was just horrible. When she got back she would love on the three of them for at least a week. She even missed the jingle of Belle. She would have loved to take her companion with her but since this was something she had to do and do fast she couldn't take Belle. Plus she didn't want to put Belle in any kind of danger.
It was about a week after that that she was on the boarder of Sauti and Zena when the trouble she had been warned about happened. It was in the day time, which meant that Zuri was sleeping. She had the egg close to her chest when she was startled awake by the sound of approaching feet. At once she stood and hid the egg amongst her bags. Just as she feared there were two men, both like the man that said he was from Oba at the tournament. So this was the trouble that the Shifter had warned her about.
At soon as they saw her they sped towards her with spears of their own outstretched. Standing in a fighting stance Zuri tried to look as menacing as she could as the two men stopped only a few feet from her. "We know you have it, we have the Shifter that gave you the egg. He told us that it was given to an Ice Shifter, there are not many of your kind so there is no need to lie. Just give us the egg and you will live, and he might as well." the bigger of the two men shouted. At once she began to asses the situation. They were both bigger than her, but purely in shape, she wasn't sure if they were just bigger people over there or if they really were muscular. They also looked like they knew what they were doing with the spears. Both of these things gave her a disadvantage, but there was one advantage that she knew that she had. The two men were tired, and it showed in their breathing. She had slept a few hours already and was well rested.
"I do not know what egg you speak of, I am simply traveling back to Zena to my home. I came to find my sister, who must be who you were looking for, and upon not finding her I'm returning. Please I mean you no harm and I wish for no problems. I promise I am not the person you are looking for. I just wish to return to my family in Zena." with that Zuri moved the spear away from her, assuming a less intimidating stance. She was ready to attack but she tried to look as if she was just an innocent traveler.
The men might had bought her story, they looked like they were going to leave, but than the egg move. Zuri cursed under her breath as the two men's frowned and moved towards her. Moving quickly Zuri stabbed one man in the leg and tripped the other before moving quickly to pick up the sling the egg was in as well as her bag. As she started running she made sure to look back in hopes of seeing both the men on the floor but it seemed the one she had tripped had recovered himself enough to chase after her. "At least I got rid of one of them..." she mused out loud.
Although typically she might have been able to outrun a man who was as big and as tired as he was, the egg was slowing her down considerably. He was closing in on her and thinking quickly she moved to the side and stopped running, dropping her bag to the floor and putting the egg down next to it just in time for the man to catch up to her. "You may have caught my friend by surprise, but you won't fool me so easily." he said with a venous glare.
It became obvious that he was willing to kill Zuri, and at once her family flashed before her eyes. No, she would not be leaving them anytime soon. "I don't need surprise to win this battle." she said and jumped towards the man. She was more tired than when she first awoke at this point, but he was simply sluggish in comparison to her. The two of them entered a kind of dance, each trying to harm the other while not getting harmed themselves. To make things harder Zuri had to make sure the egg was behind her at all time so that the man could not steal it and try to run off. Who knew what could happen to it than.
After the two of them landed a few shallow cuts here and there on each other Zuri was starting to tire of their dance, she had a job to do and she needed to do it. The sooner the egg was delivered the sooner that she could get back to her family. She didn't want to kill the man, but he was the one thing stopping her so she had no mercy. She feigned a stab to his left before hitting him in the jugular with her free hand. While the man was stunned she stabbed her spear into his foot, causing him to cry out in agony and also drop his spear. She quickly grabbed it and went back to collect her stuff and the egg before running off once again.
Hopefully he wouldn't be able to chase after her anymore, now she just needed to find somewhere to rest for a day and than she assumed it would take her another week to get to Freya.

Part ThreeFinally in Zena Zuri could not be happier. She had brought some of her old clothing, and while most of it didn't fit her at least her she had her boots and one jacket. She had bought extra furs to wrap around the egg, and she was sure that whatever was in it was going to hatch soon. She had never seen an animal hatch, but the egg had been moving ever once in a while since the first time and she was worried whatever was in it would hatch soon. If she didn't get it to Freya soon she worried that she would have to deal with a young creature.
She had known of Freya before she left Zena, but she still had to ask around to find out where the Beast Tamer lived. She wanted to see her siblings first, hopefully they would be at the same house that she had left them at, but she was still on a quest and there would be time to see them after. After asking around she finally found the right house, or at least she hoped it was the right house. Knocking on the the door Zuri clutched the egg to her chest, hoping that Freya was home and that she wouldn't have come all this way for nothing.

Class Quest Result

Zuri has not delivered the egg to Freya. The quest will continue until the tasks are satisfied.
The knock on the door wasn't uncommon to Freya, but was unexpected. She had not been notified of visitors, though with the upcoming war, she could hardly turn down surprises. These were the crucial moments before the war and she had to brace herself for whatever it was that could be behind the door.
She swung open the door and braced herself for the chill of the air. The mixed girl in front of her was someone she had never seen before, but the large wrap she carried with her was interesting enough. "Can I help you?"

Part Four
At seeing Freya Zuri sighed in relief. This was the first time she had seen the Beast Tamer, but from what the people had told Zuri of Freya's appearance this was the woman that she was looking for.
"Freya, I come from the forests of Jauhar, sent on a quest from a Shifter who came from the Oban boarder that touched the forests. I wasn't told much, except that I was to bring this egg to you. It must be of great importance as I was almost killed by two of these Oban men on my way here." she said quickly as she held the egg out to Freya.
Freya looked at the mixed girl curiously as she spoke, but when she explained herself Freya realized that she had been waiting for this girl, a scout had made it a few days before telling Freya about Zuri and that she should be expected. "Thank you, you have done a great service for all of us. Please, come in and rest for a while before you begin your journey back." Freya said as she took the egg from Zuri.
Zuri smiled as the egg was taken from her. Finally, she had done what she set out to do what seemed like a eternity ago. "I thank you for your hospitality, but my siblings live near here and I plan on resting in my old home. I'm glad I could be of service, and I'm sure we shall be seeing each other soon." and with that both women bowed, Zuri turning away from Freya's house and walking towards her siblings houses.
Freya watched the girl go, closing her door soon after Zuri had left her doorstep. It was people like Zuri that gave them a fighting chance at winning this war.
