The Story So Far: Team Aqua formed under the rule of Archie, a charismatic man with goals shrouded in mystery. Together they went on many missions, stealing and raiding in various places. During one of these missions, they stole a mysterious stone tablet that spoke of two Legendary Pokemon that were destined to battle until the end of time. But their efforts didn't come easy. Another team that goes by the name of Team Magma has been attempting to overthrow them. After several run-ins with the mysterious Team Magma, the Aquans were able to learn their plan. They wanted to use the power of the Meteorites found in Meteor Falls to erupt Mt. Chimney, creating a greater land mass in the Hoenn region. After a long battle atop the volcano, Team Aqua came out on top and secured the Meteorite, also learning of a new plan that involved both rivaling teams - they were after a hidden treasure. After successfully stealing a submarine from Slateport Harbor, Aqua ran into Team Magma and their leader, Maxie at the top of Mt. Pyre - the resting place of the Blue and Red Orbs. Archie and the team managed to secure the blue orb, but were too late regarding the Red Orb. Magma had made off with it, and were seeking to revive Groudon. Once again on the move, Aqua came across an underwater cave that housed an ancient city of gold. However, their findings were soon buried deep underwater as an earthquake rocked the cavern they were exploring. Soon after, the team received notice that Maxie had set up a research camp along the coast of Mossdeep City so Aqua went to intercept, only to fall into a trap placed by one of their own. It soon came to light that one of Aqua's members had been working undercover for the police, moonlighting on both teams in an effort to bring them down together before they were able to cause any actual harm. Needless to say, Aqua fell for the trap and was captured by Team Magma, but only temporarily. Shortly after escaping, Archie and the gang gained intel stating that Maxie was taking steps to awaken Groudon. In retaliation, Aqua sped off toward Marine Cave in the stolen submarine to awaken Kyogre as well. However, based on the alignment of the stars, Marine and Terra Caves just so happened to be in the same place, meaning both sleeping legendary pokemon were in this cave. Needless to say, Magma showed up not a minute too late and woke Groudon from its slumber. Archie used the Blue Orb to awaken Kyogre as well, and immediately, the two pokemon broke out into a colossal battle. With both pokemon awake and angry, the tides and weather throughout the region and the world changed dramatically, and Aqua was quickly looking for a solution in order to save Hoenn from destruction. It's at this point that the members of Aqua realize that both Archie and Maxie are insane and must be stopped by any means necessary. The team scrambled over the next week to find a solution, and by Sunday, they thought they had one. Legend stated that the only thing that would break up the fight between the two beasts, Groudon and Kyogre, was a third beast named Rayquaza. Their search for the dragon led them back to Mt. Pyre where they were given the Green Orb. Bringing the Green Orb to Rayquaza's home, Sky Pillar, the team summoned the dragon and ceased the fighting, causing both Groudon and Kyogre to flee.Both Archie and Maxie escaped too, however, and are still on the run for now. With Archie out of the way, Aqua lacked a leader and thus, held a vote. Shortly after, Archie and his team of bad Aquans returned to claim back what they thought was theirs, but were beaten and arrested by Lilycove Police. However, the cops wanted to bring in the new Team Aqua for the parts they played in previous crimes. Without a second thought, Maddy loaded the members into the stolen submarine and charted a course for the Kalos region until everything in Hoenn died down.
