The moon was high the sky and the stars added to the illuminating glow that covered the lands of the Serengeti. It was almost daylight for him as he padded swiftly through the deserted landscape, his rose colored eyes collecting every detail. He had traveled a long way from his home in the High Mountains south of here and found this place to be quite interesting. Far different than the lush mountain passes with trees and greens and rocky territories. This place was just sand, dust and the occasional shrubbery.
Imrahil rarely did things during the day, he was a night dweller for the most part. He was used to the darkness of the mountain caves and dark forest so the daylight was often an annoyance to him. Plus it was just so darn hot. The nighttime was his sanctuary and he also loved the fact that it was so quite. Everything was awake during the day thundering around, causing a ruckus, and he enjoyed being able to hear himself think. He slowed down his pace into a medium walk and finally stopped all together to look up at the stars. There had to be thousands of them and he admired the way they filled the world with light.
He was following one particular star and when he found it again he gave a hunka hunka sound deep in his throat and started in that direction once more.
Depawsit was gonna use this thread for Lithia but I can make another one :3

He'd been out here all day, and what did he have to show for it? Rocks! Not a single gem, or at least, nothing he would call a gem! Everything in his sack of treasures was blemished, faded, and ruined. He wouldn't put these to proper use any time soon, unless someone asked him to use them, but he would insist they use proper gems first. No one deserved mediocre when they could have amazing.
Grumbling to himself, the male kicked the dirt beneath his feet and looked up to the sky. Though he had a good sense of sight at night, he really should be getting back. If he weren't back soon, his Mother would send out a search party for him! And he was a grown adult! The idea of a search party made him sigh that much harder, if only because he knew it was true. She'd done it at least five times before, he had no reason to doubt her abilities this time.
The star he needed to follow home was being a tricky fella this evening. Shining brightly in the sky, then fading to near invisibility for random periods of time. He'd never make it home at this rate. He could follow his own footsteps home ... if only he hadn't been wadnering aimlessly for hours. Cursing his own bad luck, he held his head to the sky and walked toward his guiding light paying no attention to the area right in front of him.

It seems, as luck would have it, that both lions were looking up at precisely the same time and walking in precisely the right direction in which Imrahil most surely, and unfortunately, collided with the other with an "oooomfh!" All he felt was solid softness and a bag. It was fortunate they hadn't collided face to face, however, he was a mere few centimeters from looking at the ground and his large eyes blinked a few times as he realized he was on someone and he embarrassingly untangled himself and got up, rather clumsily.
"My sincerest apologies! I should watch more carefully where I step." He said sincerely as he righted himself and turned to help the other. "Do you need any assistance getting up? I didn't hurt you did I?' This was so embarrassing. He really should have looked where he was going, he hadn't thought to think anyone else might be out at this time as well! Oh bother. He was such an oaf right now and it was completely unbecoming of him.

The sudden collision definitely knocked Melanj for a loop and for a moment he thought he had hit a rock. But then the weight began to crush on him, and he realized a rock most definitely wasn't the culprit. Rocks didn't simply fall on top of you, regardless of whether you bumped into them! They were solid solitary objects! So then, what on earth was on top of him?! He was in the process attempting to roll over and check, when whatever it was crawled off and began to utter apologies.
Getting to his feet as quickly as possible he finally realized the other was simply another lion. A very nervous lion, but a lion just the same. Tilting his head a bit, Melanj looked at the male quizzically before waving his paw as if to shoo away his worry. "Whoa, whoa, whoa ... calm down there! It wasn't just your fault ... I mean I wasn't exactly watching where I was going. It's cool dude, we're good here!" Chuckling as he talked, Melanj felt around for any bumps and bruises. Nope! He was good to go, and his sack of jewels was even still intact.
"Nope, i'm alright, how about yourself! I know you had some cushion to fall on, but still no injuries?"

relief flooded over him and he let out a breath he had apparently been holding. "I'm glad you're alright." He said with a nod as he assessed himself as well. He seemed to be alright, minus the embarrassment of having tripped over someone. "All necessary parts are intact." He responded trying to lighten up the embarrassment with a joke.
He was going to have to make sure he paid better attention. Speaking of attention, he was drawn to the male and his satchel.
He was curious about the contents of the bag, which seemed to settle the fact he had nearly made a fool of himself. "What's in your sack? IF you don't mind me asking that is." He didn't think there was much to scavenge around out in these lands so he was intrigued.

Melanj let out a chuckle at the other male's joke, "Good, i'm glad to hear it! You need not fret over me though, i'll be alright! I've lived this long haven't I? I'm sure a little bump or a bruise won't bother me, had I received one! You seem to worry a lot, you shouldn't do that, you will go grey far before your years." Shaking his head, he smiled up at the male to let him know he was half joking. Though he was partially serious, he wasn't the type to really worry over things. But he was the type to complain ... but only when it came to his jewels.
"Oh this?" He asked, shifting his shoulder a bit to switch the satchel's position. "I usually use it to carry my gems. I'm a crafter back in my pride, I specialize in gem cuts. And there are usually quite a few gems to be found around these parts .. if you know where to look. But either i've lost my touch, or i've used up all them gems in the area, because I hardly found any on this hunt." Shrugging his shoulders a bit, he zoned out for a moment. Was he really losing his touch? Was that even possible? Or did he simply need to hurry someone much strongeer to break more rocks for him to mine through? Surely that was the case, he wouldn't accept anything else for an answer. He would look to hire someone first thing tomorrow.
"Oh, sorry I haven't introduced myself! I am Chameleon, of the Kizingo'Zaa." Dipping his head in a polite manner, he awaited the other male's reply.

He felt reassured by the males words and he cocked his head slightly at his partial joke and gave a small laugh. If he turned grey it would be a sight for sure. He did worry too much sometimes didn't he? "I guess we don't need me turning grey anytime soon." He gave a warm smile that reached his eyes and felt himself relax some more.
A crafter of gems eh? That was something to be proud of and he could tell he took his job seriously by the way he described the lack of product in the area. "That's impressive. I'm sure your work is quite the eye catcher." He realized, as soon as the other had, that there had been no introductions, minus the collision.
Bowing his head in return he made a mental note of the male and the pride for future reference. "My name is Imrahil of nowhere and everywhere at current." He really wasn't sure if he had a place to call home right now.
Depawsit I'm trying to get him into the frozen isle pride so his "home" is up in the air right now lol

"Imrahil the rogue then? Its good to meet you!"
Feeling more comfortable now that the two were on more formal terms, Melanj pulled his paws under him and took a seat across from Imrahil. "So tell me Imrahil, what is it that brings you out here so late? Are you a nocturnal? Or simply lost? If you're lost, I could help y'know! Being a gem scavenger i've had to learn a few tricks of the trade to get around. I could share them with you if you'd like?!" Pausing for a moment to rest his voice, he quickly picked up where he'd left off.
"Or, if you're simply looking for a place to rest your weary paws. You could follow me back to my pride. We welcome visitors, especially those accompanied by a known member of our pride. I could vouche for you, if that's something you'd like.

He decided he should take a seat since they were more than likely going to be where they were for a moment. He made himself comfortable and curled his tail around his feet. "I'm used to the darkness so I find the night to comfort me. I also happen to be ." Though he wasn't sure if he should consider himself as lost, he wasn't trying to find anything specific. He was very intrigued with the idea. "I think I would very much like to see this pride of yours."

Chameleon nodded his head in understanding to the lion's way of life, his older brother's mate was the same way. Aunt Nema loved the night, she always spoke of spending it with the stars and was even the one to teach him how to always find his way home. That's how he'd come to never get lost, and had managed to teach quite a few lions the same trick. "I understand that lifestyle quite well, my Aunt Nema is the same way. She loves the night, spends it all outside of her den, and then sleeps away the morning." He smiled fondly remembering the first time he had ever asked her why she was always so tired. "Would you now? Well that's quite exciting! I think you'll enjoy it where I come from, we're a friendly bunch and very excitable when it comes to visitors." Chameleon's tail flicked back and forth in excitement. "Whenever you would like to head out, i'm more than glad to lead the way!"

He gave the male a smile and wondered if there were others in his pride besides her who enjoyed the night as much as him. "I look forward to meeting your pride mates." He wished he could offer the male the same kindness. "I'm ready to go whenever you are." He wondered if they were going to be following the stars of if the male just new the way there. "Perhaps along the way I can tell you a little bit about where I came from before being of nowhere." he said with a smile as he stood up and stretched.

"That sounds like a grand idea, I always enjoy listening to stories! Whether real or obviously not real. A tale is a tale and there's always fun in that!"[/color Again the male flicked his tail in excitement as his maw curled into an excited grin. He truly did enjoy listening to the stories of others, and his would be no different.
"In fact, now i'm quite excited to get started! Shall we head out?"

Yes, let us head forth! He said with a large grin as he began walking allowing the male to take the lead. With that he thought of where to start his tale as they walked on into the night.Depawsit Just so you have it for future reference. XD I forgot we had this
