Bio: Scarlet has always been a troublemaker. As a small child she was a pickpocket on the bad side of town, making her money through trickery and cunning. One day as she was scavenging for food, she came across a book of magic tricks someone had left in the trash. Curious, she took it with her and began practicing with a deck of cards she had stolen years back.
To her joy, she found her quick wits and deft hands were perfect for doing magic tricks. She quickly became a master, performing on street corners and in alleyways, to make money on the side.
Then the Dark Carnival came into town. The Ringmaster got word of a new act in town and paid her a visit. She showed the Ringmaster some of the magic tricks she learned and was offered a part in the circus on the spot. She happily accepted, becoming even better and more diverse with her magic tricks as she quickly became one of the more popular acts in the Dark Carnival. (Although just for the thrill of it she would sometimes still pickpocket.)
The catch was the secret behind the Dark Carnival: All of the performers were fed human souls, in order to enhance their abilities. Eventually the performers would turn into kishin eggs meaning the Dark Carnival needed constant replacements.
This is where her story and the story of Scarlet in the original world diverge.
Instead of becoming a kishin egg, Scarlet's witch powers awoke and she began to learn to use magic in her carnival shows. Still, she was fed human souls and madness began to over-take her. Realizing that she couldn't live like this and keep herself, Scarlet continually tried to escape but was caught and punished every time. Fortunately, one day Umbra, the leader of the resistance against the evil Lord Death, arrived in town. Seeing Scarlet's plight, he found it in his heart to help her escape from the Dark Carnival and maintain her sanity.
Ever since that day, Scarlet has been a member of the resistance, eternally grateful to Umbra for saving her. She looks up to him as a mentor, a hero and the closest thing to a father-figure she's ever had. She also loves Ellise as an older sister whom she looks up to. Despite her young age she is clever, powerful and deft with magic and has contributed well to the resistance.
Scarlet has been thoroughly trained in kickboxing as well as using magic and her magic deck to supplement her attacks.
Spells/Powers:
+Dead Man's Hand: Two 8-shooter revolvers and two double-barreled shotguns appear around Scarlet, fully loaded with madness-infused bullets
+Snake Eyes: Two lances of pure madness shoot forward from her hands, impaling her enemies
+Black Jack: Hundreds of blades shaped like thin, black aces swirl around Scarlet, cutting away anyone and anything that gets too close.
+Truth of the Cards: Scarlet uses her deck of cards to look into the souls of individuals, and as a result is able to tell about their past, their thoughts and where they are / what they are doing currently.
+Royal Flush: Scarlet pulls 5 cards from her deck and throws them towards the enemy. They each explode in fantastic fashion like massive fireworks, dealing damage to anyone within the blast radius
+Jackpot: Scarlet's gloves begin to glow a bright golden color. Whenever an enemy is punched by her while her gloves are like this, they are dealt double damage. Any barriers, auras or magical defenses an enemy puts up are dealt quadruple damage
+The House Always Wins: Scarlet's ultimate attack. When she is using her Jackpot ability, Scarlet focuses her energy and slams her fist straight into the ground. This causes a massive wave of resonance force to ripple through the ground, tearing it apart and damaging anyone on the ground. Lest one think they can simply jump over the attack, huge chunks of rock and dirt shoot out from the ground and into the sky, filling the air with deadly debris
Personality: Scarlet is a very outspoken, smart and friendly girl. She loves doing new things and she adores both Umbra and Ellise as role models. She is innocent in some ways but after spending most of her life on the street she is also very aware of the darker sides of life. Despite this, she tries to live her life as happily as possible and is almost always optimistic. It's hard to get her seriously angry but when she does get angry she goes all out. She's not afraid to fight or to speak her mind to anyone.
