Totally, definitely, for sure, absolutely, 1000% pumped up from the sheer resolve of 'Today I will do better', Abbi raced to the training area. She had spent her time wallowing post New Years and was now all the more invigorated to train as best she could, figuring that a bit of sparring would set her up nicely. Considering she was pretty bad at it and somewhere around 1-1 on her win/ lose streak, she needed to balance the count somehow. Even if it meant with herself.
The teen neared an empty arena and slowed to a bunny hop, stretching her arms over her head in preparation for her inevitably sweaty training.
"Are you ready Viveca? I'm ready! I was born ready!"
{ How clever }
"So here's the plan, Ghostess With the Mostest--"
{ Oh jack, who let ye have sugar? Ah told ye, NONE FOR-- }
"We're gonna get a dummy, right? And we're gonna wail on it until its mannequin head pops off-- Wait, do they make the training dummies with heads? I mean that would only be logical like... Headshot! C'mon you can't fight a dummy without a head. Psshhaaa!"

Far more content than she should be to speak out loud to a weapon only she could hear, Abbi stopped her bunny hop only to saunter off toward the place they kept the dummies. Thankfully one had been tossed outside the arena she stood in, so it was only a matter of picking the thing up, pole and all, and carting it over to the middle of the grass ring.
Which was, given how very small Abbi was, a feat easier planned than executed. It took a lot of pushing and grumbling and fumbling with the thing before she even got it upright, let alone over the lip of the arena ring or even onto the arena itself.
"Wooooo, buddy! Maybe I should do some push ups first... Yikes!" Was she sweating already?

Dylon whistled as he headed to the training fields, a hop in his step. This was his usual routine. At least one round in the training field before the day ended. He needed to be ready for anything, after all. He still felt so new here.

The lanky young man stopped as he saw something amusing. An adorable little huntress trying to prop up a dummy. After some giggling on his own, he finally strolled up to the young lady and tapped her shoulder. "Just what are you doing?" He asked cheerily, a large grin on his face.

Most normal people heard whistling and realized it was a very good indicator of someone in the vicinity. Abbi heard whistling and attributed it to Viveca being a bit snappish and elected to ignore it. This was a very big mistake on her part.
Mostly it was because when she chose to ignore it, that meant she continued to talk aloud to her ghost head mate, determined to get the dummy onto the training field so she could get going on all her improvement. All the talking also meant that she did not hear the laughing and only stopped her talking when something tapped on her shoulder.
A loud scream ripped from her as she swung the dummy around to see just who it was asking her questions and scaring the living daylights out of her, but this also meant she swung the pole under one leg and fell down onto the thing she had only just succeeded in making upright.
There was a lot of clattering and whining and 'ow ow ow ow's to get out first before the teen flipped one pigtail from her face to address the question.

"Well I was tryin' to get this dummy into the ring so I could fight him... But now I'm just uh... Stuck under him?" It had fallen on top, in all fairness. The ginger blinked a few times in exasperation of her circumstance before she looked up at the boy.
Oh well hello there cute boy thanks for scaring her and now making her feel really stupid because you were so cute.
"What are you doing?" Yes, good job Abbi. You did the thing.

Dylon winced, watching the chaos unfold unto the girl much like a good shoujo manga. He gave a chuckle, gripping the dummy with both hands. "What am I doing? I was going to train, but now I'm helping a pretty girl out~." He grinned, then pulling up the dummy from the poor fallen lady. "Oopsie daisy~ There we go." The dummy was cast aside, his hand now extended to the pigtailed lady.

"'m Dylon. Who might you be?"

Well just adsglk;dsagl;kdgsahfdl;'kagsfdl;dsgabf;ldknsf ;bl
It was a good thing that he hadn't mentioned anything about manga or else he might have had a yippy little thing on him in a heartbeat, but as it were, Abbi was much too busy blushing and going all dopey about being called pretty. No one called her pretty, at least not unprovoked! She usually had to fish for compliments and he'd just said it!
Counting her blessings that Deus was way more like an otome game than back home ever had been, she tried to say something witty and only managed a dull stammer of no real word in particular. A timid 'thank you' was voiced when she was freed from the fallen dummy but it took her a few seconds before she could say her name. First there was that whole... Picturesque offering of the hand.
asdgkfhdl;knlk;dgsflk;dsgfdkl;fdlk;gafdl;k

Quick to take it and hop to her feet, Abbi took a few faltering steps back, just in case he decided to be suave some more. A girl needed room for that!
"I'm Abbi Killian! Nice ta'metcha Dylon! Thanks for the help with the uh... Dummy." She lightly kicked the wayward thing that seemed intent on staying on the ground, still flushed but sure to keep her eyes somewhere else in hopes he wouldn't notice.
"I wanted to fight it, but I think it already won."
PostPosted: Mon Jan 27, 2014 9:29 pm

"Guess so, huh? I think that dummy has seen a lot more fights than you have though." Dylon offered with a smile. "But maybe you and I can spar? I'm pretty new at all this yet, so the playing field is even."

He chuckled, and scratched his cheek. "Though I have to admit, I'll never get used to using real weapons on people. It's way weird, right?"

"...Oh... Yeah... I bet it has... Huh..." For a long moment Abbi stared down at the dummy, weighing the possibility that it was at least ten levels above her. As for Dylon, she turned a pointer finger at him with a look of faux sternness. "You win this round, Mr. Logic! But-- OH HEY YEAH!" The girl hopped into the air, her fists clenched tight at shoulder level in excitement.
"A spar between two people is a GREAT idea!" Why hadn't she thought of it? Didn't matter, it was going to happen now!
With a grin the girl turned and raced off into the arena, clapping excitedly and jumping into the air with wild abandon only to land and keep running. She had made it mostly across the ring before she doubled back to make sure Dylon was following.

"Oh man, fighting people is SUPER WEIRD. Like... I get it, yanno.. Training and all... But still..." Her right hand shook in the manner of someone taking off a particularly tight ring. "Hitting their shield things is so... Squidgy! Like, it makes my teeth clank together and then when it breaks you can hurt them? Bleck!" The ring seemed a bit stuck... "But its good practice for the Hallow-creepies, right? If you get used to hitting a person, you won't feel so bad about smacking one of them around, yanno? Its like-- OH MY GLOB VIVECA STOP IT"
With one last shake of her hand, Abbi gave up the dramatic removal of her totem ring and just summoned her scythe, wincing lightly at the noise in her head.

"Oh uh... Dylon, meet Viveca!" The scythe was twirled three full rotations for show and once more until the girl lost her grip and had to fumble for a bit, smiling stupidly all the while.

Dylon burst into laughter at Abbi's exuberance, jogging behind to keep up with the tiny ball of energy. She was simply precious. He smiled as she turned to speak to him again, nodding along with all she was saying. Still, his smile kept splitting into a grin. This girl just spoke a mile a minute.

"I haven't met a Hallow-Creepy yet, but I imagine practice may make it easier." He agreed with a chuckle.

Her outlandish 'swear' made Dylon laugh again. "Adventure Time fan, are we?" He too summoned his weapons; twin katars that glowed blue. However, he didn't use any sort of flourish like Abbi had so valiantly attempted. "Smooth." He teased affectionately at her fumble.

"This here is Vahn. Pleasure to meet you, Viveca."

And then he was actually following her?! WOW WOW WOW!
New best friend alert!
"Dude. Dude." Abbi halted in her run to hold up both hands in warning. "I've met two Creepies and bro... No, they are some crazy noise." Since she was going to talk now, the teen had to set her scythe against one shoulder so she could gesture with her hands.
"So the first one was this crazy tall Amazon lookin' lady. Miss Kat said she was a Horseman of War and she looked for real insane. Like her eyes were all wiggy and she had all these weird grey swirls on her and she was not cool. Totally scary with wings and--" She didn't finish, shivering instead to show his disdain.
"But then there was this other girl? I-D-K. She looked like a rip off of a Zelda fairy." Which meant Abbi was not impressed.

As for Dylon's knowledge of Adventure Time, the girl's eyes went wide and she nearly began to vibrate in place.
"You know about Adventure Time? Like nobody but Finn knows O-M-G THAT'S SO COOL. OK ok who's your favorite?"
{ Look at me, ah'm Abbi. La dee da da da~ }
Oh yeah fighting and all that...

"Hi Vahn! Its nice to meet you! I'm gonna hit you now!"

Of course, that was easier said than done for Abbi had to first pick her weapon back up and it apparently did not feel like fighting anymore, for it slipped from her grasp so that the teen had to flail after it with a squawk. This was not very ladylike, or cute for that matter, so by the time she did finally rescue her weapon from falling onto the ground, she'd really missed her opportunity to attack first.
Good job Abbi.

Dylon smiled again, listening earnestly as Abbi chatted with him. Horsemen and fairies? He was a little curious, truth be told. All he'd ever seen were shadows.

"My favorite has got to beeee..." He leaned side to side, pondering the adventures of Adventure Time. "LSP. For sure."

Vahn scoffed, waiting for the real fight to begin, where as Dylon chuckled amusedly at Abbi's attempts. "Careful, now." Dylon hoped he wouldn't hurt the girl, but allowed Vahn to take over some of his senses in order to get his mind battle ready. It made it easier. The feral drive of the werewolf was much more inclined to fighting than the kind hearted nerd with a knack for flirting.

Dylon lurched forward, swiping against Abbi's Fear Shield.

"LSP is the best!" There was just enough time to chirp that before Dylon moved closer, the teen bracing herself for impact but still making a whine when he hit her shield. Even if it didn't hurt, she swore she could feel it moving and bumping her skin and that was bad enough.
"Wow! You sure don't play around!" She said, head coming up from its ducked state after his attack.
It was harder to hit someone close range with such a tall weapon, so Abbi was only able to make a poor attempt at a swipe that only clipped the other boy.

"How long have you been on the Island?"

"Ah! Sorry~! I'll hit softer if you want." He called with an apologetic look, to which Vahn snapped at him in retort. Battles were for winning, not whining, not matter how soft the opponent was.

"I started here in August!" He offered in a friendly tone, swiping away her scythe from him with one katar and thrusting the other forward.

The offer of an easier fight, while appreciated, was not really something Abbi wanted. Going easy on her wouldn't teach her anything and the whole point of coming to the arena was to train. A grateful smile was flashed to Dylon as the teen darted backwards, still facing him.
"No no no! Don't go soft! You can go as hard as you like!" Err... "I'm not gonna go easy on you, so you can totally do the same!" A little better.

Excited to hear about someone so close to her in Time-On-Deus-Range, she darted only forward enough that when she swung the scythe it arced ever so nicely against his shield.
"Wow! August, really?! I woke up at the very end of August, last day actually. So technically it was September, but that's cool!" Now that she was getting curious, Abbi realized she'd neglected to look at his coat. They always had the Division symbols on those and what if he was an ally?
"WOW! And you're a Moon too?!" Oh yeah. Totally new BFF's.

"So we're Moon buddies? Awesome! Hey, do you read manga at all?" She liked Adventure Time, so it may not be a huge stretch. New BFF in the making.

Dylon braced himself for the attack, before swopping around her attack range and slicing across her side.
