It saddens me to see how the gay community is being treated in Russia.
Vladimir Putin should be ashamed of what he has caused in his country.
I have many gay friends and all of them are the kindest of people.

What's happening in Russia right now - that's where the Olympics are taking place, and being homosexual is noted as both 'illegal' and 'nonexistant,' right?
I can't believe that they'd host the Olympics in such a place - the point of that event is unity, and accepting the diversity of all people and nations. It's disgusting that Russia could have such awful views, and yet still be allowed to host such a symbolic event like the Olympics.
...
There are definitely going to be quite a few political actions done by gay Olympians, for sure. It'll be very... interesting, to say the least, to see how Russia handles it. Or Vladmir Putin, to be more precise.

He also said that he has many gay friends...I wonder if that was before or after he made it illegal hahaha. Some people are in power around the world and I really wonder how they got their cause they really aren't that intelligent.

What, he exiled them? stressed And yes, there are definitely a lot of ignorant people in power out there... you should become a superhero, and dethrone them! Mighty Miiru, they will call you! Tell all the homosexual Russians to come to America.
Not always better here, but I trust that all the small-minded bigots in our country are swiftly becoming the minority, and will soon only be seen as the kooks and scaremongers they are.
The only question is when.

The only question is when. Canada is very accepting of Homosexuality as well. Gay marriage is legal everywhere here.

Maybe all of the "terrorists" that have been causing havoc over in Russia lately are the gay folks trying to prove their point. Seems like a stretch, but then again, I never knew Russia was so serious against the gay community.
Nothing like blowing up parts of the motherland (as well as yourself) to get your point across. neutral

Miirru Princess Piffle My favorite body-product shop is actually participating in a movement for the LGBT community in Russia. :3 Look! That's amazing. So good to hear. I hope the Olympics are a complete fail in Russia. Oh, I wouldn't want the Olympics to fail. :c They're symbolically a sign that, globally, we can all come together and be proud as a human race. It's one of the few events that has almost every country participating, lets anybody capable to compete, and hasn't broken since the early A.D. It's beautiful and transgenerational. If anything, I would hope that the Olympics outshine Putin and his assholeish ways, that the athletes behave in such a way that he is brought to shame. That would be fantastic.
