It was a fine winters day the sun was out bathing the land in its warmth and a light sprinkling of snow blanketed the ground Two figures a girl and a fox walked along at a merry pace down the busy street the girl from behind might be mistaken for a boy due to her choice in cloths she wore her usual attire mens cloths fitted to her form in the 1870's style mostly in black to absorb the suns warming rays a extra coat to keep the chill out and her favorite top hat a tall black top hat with a white band and a small blueish white flower attached to the side the fox at her side was more then content to have just its warm robin colored fur her whiteish paws almost blending in seamlessly with the snow The two carried on happily a small bag hanging from the girls arm it had been a wonderful day of window shopping and she even bought a new accessory for her hat the fox was enjoying jumping in the small piles of snow that lined the streets and sliding on the occational unchecked patch of ice which gave the girl a good heads up where to avoid Finally it was getting on in the day and the two were growing hungery when the smell of fresh baked pastries greeted them from a small building down the street the pare stopped to look towards the smell then at each other "You smell that Tory? Wanna go get something sweet?" the girl asks the fox who began excitedly wiggling her tail flying back and forth "Yip! Yip!" she cries and sends a wave of eagerness and anticipation to the girl she was definatly up for a sweet treat the girl smiles and nods "Lets go then" she says which was all the fox needed she took off zooming towards the source of the smell "H-hey Tory wait for me!" she calls then runs after the fox being careful to watch for any hidden ice that may be lurking Finally she caught up to the fox who was standing on her back paws with her front paws on the door her tail swinging faster then ever the girl took a moment to look though the window despite the waves of eagerness she kept getting from the fox to make sure they were infact open though the smell coming from the bakery left little doubt finally she opens the door nearly being tipped by the fox as she rushed inside "Whoa Tory! Run me down next time!" she jokes as she walks in

Missy offered a welcoming smile to the newly arriving customers, but Tippens was more eager. The cinnamon-colored fox scampered over to the other, more naturally-patterned familiar who seemed as intent as any to get something sweet. He meets the newcomer as he scampers inside, tail swishing curiously.
"Hello! Welcome to Hart's Bakery!" Missy said, smiling from behind the counter. Her shift might have been over, had the cashier not sprained her ankle on her way in to work. She had gladly taken on a few extra hours. Lord knew she could use the pay.
Pre-made treats sat behind glass on the right wall, and some were displayed more fancifully at wooden tables placed around the space. Their goods ran the gamut from sesame bagels and loafs of bread to danishes, cupcakes and cookies. There were only two small sets of tables and chairs for someone to sit and enjoy their treats if they so chose. The girl behind the counter was petite, arms crossed just above her heart-patterned uniform apron.
"If there's anything I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask!"

Tory had run over to sit infront of the displays with all the food to decide what she wanted at first she didn't notice the cinnamon colored fox until it was practically right in her face she jumps in surprise but recovers almost instantly the sweets were momentarily forgotten as she gets up and yips excitedly at the fox "Yip! Yip!" she cries excited and surprised to see another fox and in a bakery of all places her tail swung back and forth quickly
Aalina like she usually did when entering a store instantly became bashful she gives the woman behind the counter a small shy smile as she removes her top hat then nods "Hello" she says in a surprisingly small shy voice however her attention and bashfulness was diverted by the cinnamon colored fox which had dashed out to greet Tory and the waves of surprise and excitment that followed from the fox "Oh! Another Fox!" she says in surprise as she stood near the doorway while it wasn't uncommon to see familiars now days she was not expecting to find one in a bakery
Finally she approched the pare and kneels down next to them she glances at a case holding some cinnamon rolls and couldn't help but smile at the simularity "Is the fox yours?" she asks the women behind the counter her bashfulness quickly forgotten

When the other fox startled, Tippens briefly lowered himself to the ground. Was he going to be attacked?! Oh. Oh, no. Not at all. He perked again and snuffled at this new arrival's coat before doing a little circle. There were so many more things than cinnamon rolls, come look! He took a few steps, retreated in a circle, and did the same again.
"Ah, yes. That's Tippens," Missy admitted, coming out from behind the counter. "I can put him in the back room if he's bothering you..." That didn't seem to be the case, but it was always polite to ask. Besides, Tippens in the back closet meant mournful howls for at least a full fifteen minutes.
"I'm a Whyst, it seems! Which is new to me, really. I'd thought he was just a normal fox up until I felt the, um--" She stopped shaking her head. "Sorry, I didn't mean to go on. How about you? He seems so fond of you, he must be yours." She motioned toward Tory, having no idea of her name or gender, apparently.

Tory at first was confused by the other fox lowering down until she realized her startled expression might have made the other think she would strike out in surprise at them but her continually wagging tail showed she was no threat and the other fox quickly recovered then went to investigate her person Tory figured the food tour offer before her person and was hot on the Fox who apparently was named Tippens heels eager to see what the store had to offer
Aalina smiled as the fox sniffs her coat then makes eagerly towards the displays her smile widens as she feels a sort of mental nudge towards the display cases and excitement from Tory as she followed the other fox to the cases she stands up straight and waves her hands "No no he's alright" she says in a friendly tone then looks at the two "Tippens was it? Cute name" she says then nods and motions to Tory "This is Tory she's quite friendly and usually mindful of her surroundings so I don't think she will cause any trouble" she says Tory turns briefly to Missy yips a polite greeting then returns to her display casing
Aalina smiles then turns to Missy at the mention of being a Whyst "Ah yes im one as well iv been a Whyst sense I was a child when I first met Tory" she says her smile widening at the memory after a few seconds she returns her attention to Missy realizing she had yet to introduce herself "Oh I forgot to introduce myself Im Aalina Ashwood" she says bowing politely "Nice to meet you" she says then laughs a bit and looks to Tory the mental nudge to look at the display cases was turning more into a mental nag as Tory tried to pick her treat and wanted Aalina to do the same

Tippens gladly began around the display cases, doing a little circle before each one. He wasn't allowed to jump up on the displays, he had learned that fairly quickly. Luckily, he was a fox and able to smell each delicious treat from outside the glass partitions. The stock really was quite varied, and few may know that everything was baked fresh in the wee hours of the morning. That was generally Missy's shift.
The girl nodded and folded her hands at her belly, smiling softly.
"She's very cute. I'm not worried. Customers are well allowed to bring familiars and such into the shop. It's us Mr. Hart worries about." She shook her head, almost fondly. "I'm Missy Frye. It's a pleasure to meet you."
It was a mite unusual for people to offer both names in an introduction, but judging from the other girl's dress there might have been a reason for it. She could be a noble, for all Missy knew, and so the baker was treading the conversational waters carefully.

Tory watched and listened to Tippens's explaination of each treat she figured quickly sense the excitable fox wasn't getting on the display cases that she in turn shouldn't do the same and followed Tippens's example of sniffing out the treats finally they came to a treat that really piqued her interest it smelled cakey and vanillay but a unusual varity of vanilla(French) and like it had berries on it! "Yip! Yip!" she cries as she decides that was the treat she wanted
"Thank you" she says at the complement to Tory who didn't seem to hear she couldn't help but laugh a bit as Missy explained her bosses stance on the matter of Familiars "Ah lucky he lets them in at all some establishments iv been in are very strict about animals be them Familiars, Hounds, or otherwise unfortunatly... which usually leads to a unhappy Tory hah hah..." she says laughing and mentally grimacing as she remembers the last time she entered such a place
At Missy's introduction she nods but notices the slightly perplexed look she gave when she gave her full name she remembered outside of the upper class it wasn't quite normal to introduce yourself in full upon a first meeting "Landed Gentry" she says finally with a wave of her hand like it wasn't any big deal which to her it really wasn't
Tory having picked her treat was getting impatient that Aalina hadn't picked hers yet she was very near the point of going over and grabbing Aalina's coat to drag her over she finally sent one last mental nudge with a impatent tone as she waits she finally turns to Tippens and asks what it was like to live in a bakery

Tippens watched as an excited fox escaped to her companion, and did a little doughnut when they returned. All of the treats here were tasty, or at least the ones he had tried! He had no way of knowing Tory's curiosities, but might have responded that he didn't live in the bakery but simply came with his companion who worked there. He had lived in the thicket just beyond for a time, but he had found the girl for him!
Missy only offered a soft nod at the customer's explanation. It may not have meant a lot to her, but Missy was the lowest denominator of common folk. Perhaps even lower than that, if anyone knew...
She smiled, though, and went to the case that Tory had brought Aalina to. She had a feeling that something would be coming out of there soon. She pulled on a pair of gloves and went for either a tray or a paper bag.
"Will you be taking your treats with you, or dining in? We do have complementary coffee and tea available."

Tory nods her head in understanding when she was told he did actually live in the bakery and his person just worked here "Yip" she says then nods to show she understood now she took a few seconds to imagine what it would be like to live in the bakery after a few moments she mentally laughs as she imagins herself round and fat Aalina noticed Missy decided not to persue talk on her class any further or offer insight into her own so decided to leave it at that not wanting to pry Finally that last insistent mental nudge and Missy making for the display case Tory was so adament at getting a treat from caused her to sigh as she looks at Tory and make for the cases herself she was about to start looking when Missy asked if it was for here or to go At first she glances at the couple sitting at one of the small tables really noticing them for the first time she rubs the back of her head nervously feeling a all to familiar bashfulness start to creep in as a light blush appeared on her cheeks 'they were sitting there the whole time?...' she thinks slowly Tory sensing her Summoners discomfort was snapped out of her day dreaming she looks to Aalina quizically until she notices the two people at the table for the first time herself she makes a exhasperated huff then marches over to Aalina grabs her coat in her teeth and starts tugging At Tory's sudden tugging she was diverted from her fretting as she tried to make Tory let go "H-hey! Tory im coming ok..." she says in a suddenly small soft tone finally she looks up at Missy who even though she barely knew her imparted a bit of comfort due to the fact that they both had Familiars and shared something in common Finally Tory stops tugging feeling satisfied she had pulled Aalina out of one of her bashful fretty moments Aalina sighs the mention of complementry Tea or Coffee which had illuded her before finally sinking in it did sound quite tempting... It was easily time for tea and hot tea and a sweet treat on a cold winters day was always nice... Finally after much mental debating and a few more glances at the oblivious couple she sighs and nods to Missy "We'll... be having them here" she says in a soft slightly unsure but mostly resolved tone then after checking to make sure she didn't have any holes in her coat she steps up to the display cases to make her selection however the air around her was clearly different as she was still in bashful mode grasshopper pie Its No problem sorry lol im not used to quoting yet

Although she was rather petite herself, Missy had some trouble seeing just what sweet the fox had chosen. Familiars certainly did seem more intelligent than the average pet, didn't they? Her childhood hound would never have been able to choose anything, just grab the nearest thing and make a break for it. Tippens began to play with Missy's shoelaces as she waited, gesturing for the glass case.
"So what can I get for you? Please don't feel rushed, I'll be glad to help you as long as you need."

She was looking at a delicious looking slice of chocolate cheese cake with a strawberry glaze and a few raspberries on top when she heard Missy speak she looks up and nods gratefully but after feeling a expectant feeling from Tory noticed that she didn't yet have her treat out and it dawn on her that she couldn't really point it out herself due to not wanting to jump on the display cases Bashfulness forgotten once more she blushes a bit in embarassment as Tory gives her a expentant look "Do you need help showing what you want Tory?" she asks her Tory nods her tail wagging a bit and stands infront of the case where her treat was Aalina nods then walks over and gently puts her hands under the foxes underarms and lifts her up to look at the sweets in the display case after sniffing at the different levels Tory found the cupcake she had wanted and starts pawing the air in it's direction while wagging her tail "That one?" She asks and Tory Yips happily "Ok then" she says and sets the now eagerly wiggling Tory down "She'll have that one please" she says pointing to the vanilla cupcake "And ill have..." she says contemplatively as she scans the selection one last time before coming back to the cheese cake "That one the slice of Chocolate Cheese Cake please" she says pointing to her choice After noding to herself as she figured the amount the treats should be she makes her way to the register and pulls out her money pouch out of her pocket it was a black colored silk pouch with a silver watch bob attached to it she had learned the hard way that loose pouches could mean stolen pouches and had nicely fixed that problem by using a old watch bob she had grasshopper pie Sorry for such a late reply!

Missy couldn't help but giggle at the girl's method of discernment and tried in vain to hide it behind her forearm. She shook her head slightly and apologized.
"I'm sorry. She's just so cute," she said, and then crouched to Tory's level. She could certainly seem to understand what was said, so she directed her next statement to the creature itself, "You're very charming. I'd be happy to get that for you." She reached into the case and removed the tiny cake to place on the tray, then nodded to Aalina and cut her a slice of cheesecake before bringing both to the front counter. She quoted the girl the price and began to ring her up.
"Could I get you any tea or coffee for your treat?" she asked, smiling.
