Sweet ash dusted the edge of the volcaino and frosted the edges of the hollowed out lava caverns around. The sun had not been out as of late. The sky had been blanketed by a thick layer of dark grey clouds and occasionally accompanied by drizzles of rain. Rain that caused the ground to hiss viciously in protest. That was the only way to determine any season around here. Wet or not wet. Sun today, no sun today.
The constant cloud cover and sometimes drizzle meant that it was about mid winter... Despite the warmth.
Volvagia preferred the warmth. A little cloud cover was nothing compared to a snowy chill. The mere thought caused him to shudder.
Turquoise eyes glanced back toward the incline leading to the top of his mountain. His long fiery mane danced about in the winds, yet remained tame behind his head. It wouldn't be hard for anyone to spot him amongst the dull colors of the mountain. His very flesh seemed to be as alive as an erupted volcano. Lava-like blood veins were visible just between his stone-like scales.
Volvagia didn't mind being spotted. He could hold his own in a fight... and knew the caverns well enough below to loose anyone in them should he need. Volvagia had an arrogance about his ability to swim in and withstand lava. He was convinced that too was a solid way of defense if need be.
There was very little to worry about.

She wanted to be laying on her pile of gold, undisturbed by anyone, however she had spent the last while actually having to hide it for her own consumption latter. her scales shone and always had a healthy crimson a staple of her kind, yet.
Tyronica couldn't help but grumble the invasions into her territory were disturbing, like she no longer was as intimidating or they were just plain ignorant. No one knew her here, she had been known far and wide in her previous world. She had come to vent some frustration, a nearby active volcano was kicking up a fuss, mashing some rocks would be fun, and hopefully there would be a star or two to bash.
the dragoness soared above her location riding on the thermals that lifted her high above, Ash and soot in the air made her comfortable it reminded her of her hatching ground before she had to go into the world. Angling her wings downward she began to descend something strange however stood upon the mountain. He looked draconic but not one she knew, he held none of the features of the chromatics or metallics that she knew.
Tyronica landed in proximity, her glowing eyes sizing up this alien dragon.

Volvagia paused in his blissful appreciation of the volcaino at the feint sound of a wing beat. Mind you, it was only that it was out of the ordinary that he was able to catch such a sound. Teal eyes scanned the gray somber ash clouds to catch a glimmer of what appeared to be a crimson gem.
Jem-like scales were not a pleasure he had gotten with his hide'. His hide was as resilient as a diamond, but as colorless as the very mountain they stood on. Volvagia's 'shine' came from his blood. Instead of blood, lava flowed through his veins. Some of which could be seen spidering under his scales occasionally (especially when his heart rate increased).
Still, he could appreciate something shiny once in a while. This one seemed almost as fiery as himself... and much more bulkier. Speed an agility were his talents. His hide may have been so tough only a mega-ton hammer could crack, but that didn't mean he was built to take a brute force beating. And though his skull could certainly take such a beating, he was aware that any beast with a brain would not persistently attack something they could not break. Still, he took pride in his form and would show none of this to anyone.
The firey stream that made his long mane seemed to brighten as the crimson gem made a landing. Teal eyes remained focused as his body readied for what might follow. Friend or foe?
"Now here is a face I have not seen... You look as if you have been formed from the very heart of this volcano. Such vibrant scales." Volvagia noted with almost a hum as she fully landed. As he spoke his entire mouth was aglow, like a volcano holding back its lava.

Tyronica folded her wings comfortably at her side, well he was certainly a dragon. What a strange dragon, his living hide was quite something, it breathed and moved like the lava within this living volcano. His words did not displease her in the least. tyronica grinned a rock happened to be in her way as she strode forward, her powerful tail swept it aside with a loud crack as it went flying up the volcano. The Ash and rock felt familiar and good on her claws. Her territorial invasion's temporarily forgotten giving way to a mild curiosity.
"Well, well, I have not seen such a face either," she paused his mane flamed like the fires of the volcano and his veins coursed with it's blood "you're kin to the volcano it's blood is your own it's breath your fire." she noted. Compliments seldom came without cost. His mask was too strange why would he hide his face if he was a dragon? Perhaps this one had some sort of horrific scar, or he just thought the mask made him more fearsome.
Glowing emerald green eyes studied the strange dragon, he was not of her world now that she looked at him. Where did such a strange dragon come from. He better not be after her horde, but then again he could think the same thing of her, she'd wait and watch for a time. Tyronica was not an ancient creature for nothing foolish adventurers always came hoping to claim her head as their prize.
Regardless she had found something that perked her interest.
