(I am so sorry I forogot what the other brother's name was... D: I'll add it to my fail sauce. Spaghetti at the end of the month.)

User ImageThe night had been receeding slowly making way for the crisp winter sun to take its place. Birds who had not flead the cold begun their morning chorious, and every worms death toll. Aurelius took the clear sky as a warm welcome home after a long absence. Where he had been the sky seemed in constant concealment and torment... He had never seen so much rain. It made flying more of a choir than it should. Only one of the many reasons he had been so late in returning to his family...

The good side to this prolonged absence was the wonderful story he had brought back with him, among other things. A few trinkets, shinny and worthy of the eyes of even the most greedy dragons. All of which he stored safely within a swollen leather sachel strapped securely to his side. Every now and than a glimmor of gold would peek out from benieth in response to the sun's call. Normally Aurelius would have been so careful of such a thing, but he was in a hurry.

Durring the long flight "home" he had to think of what parts of the story he should include, and what he sould leave out. The start, being attacked by a monsterous demon, would be a good opening... though, perhaps he should leave out most of the injuries he recieved (Even if the scars on the edges of his wings and neck were a bit obvious). Than there was the jungle... that was where all the real meat of the story was. He guessed his sisters would love to hear about an exotic queen-goddess (at least to her people) and her vast amount of riches, her plight with an unwanted marriage or sacrifice... and how they almost had a new sister-in-law. Well, perhaps... some parts should be embellished for the affect. imprisonment and being attacked by body guards, OH! and the dragon of the volcano. That would be a good way to conclude such a long tale.

Aurelius glanced downward to gain a good idea of his position. Almost there. No doubt his glistening ruby and golden scales had given away his arrival already. This location was not the best for stealth for one of his colors. Not that he needed it in a return home. Gildenfire would have likely already known of his approach, right? It was a territory thing for Dragons. At least, Aurelius was sure of this assumption. The pure gold was much older than any of them and likely knew more tricks...

Thick muscles tensed as powerful wings stretched. A thin stream of blue fire jutted from his nostrils to the sudden surge in effort. Despite the long flight Aurelius wanted to pick up the pace and be home. The large draconic-stallion was fatigued, but not so much that the thought of his family couldn't push him to go faster.

Soon... very soon. He could hardly contain the excitement at hearing his family's voices again.

In a corner of the cave she shared with her family, Kastra still slept, her tail curled up near her nose. The pink fire that was her trademark, that differed from that of her family, issued from her mouth in tiny bursts as she lightly snored. The flames that covered her body flared in places, not as strong as they would when she was awake. It cast a glow like the setting sun onto the walls around her, like a northern lights bathed only in shades of pink and orange. As a young dragon, she had thought her feminine fire a little embarrassing for a mighty dragon to show off. She had wanted to be taken seriously as something more than a common mare. But who could when you breathed pink fire? Over time, of course, she grew to love the fire. It was beautiful. It was different. And above all else it didn't diminish her dragon appearance. It was all concocted by her own imagination, as some insecurities as youngsters will do. She was proud to say she was now an older, wiser dragon with all the dignity and majesty befitting her breed.

A bright blue eye opened slowly as the bird's songs penetrated the dreams of the ice blue mare. Kastra raised her head and yawned, her rows of sharp teeth fully visible until her mouth closed. She remained where she lay, front legs tucked underneath each other until she was awake enough to even think about moving. To see the weather when she woke up, she always picked her bed close to the opening. If it was a bad day, only a strong breeze would reach her. Today, fortunately, she could see the sun leaving streaks on the floor. With a smile, she got up and left the cave, closing her eyes against the breeze and listening to the peaceful nature of the forest.

Edarvirlym had awoke before his icy sister and had already ventured out into the forest looking for food. In a rare show of generosity, the red and purple dragon had acquired an extra stag in order to help feed his siblings. As Kastra left the cave, he approached, wings outstretched as he flew over the cave in a circle, contemplating before dropping the dead creature to the ground in front of his sister and cackling at the thought of how it might startle and annoy her.

Finally, Edar landed in front of the cave, tucking his powerful wings down tight.

"I brought dinner," he commented, unable to keep his self-satisfied smirk off his face, "Where's Vala? She had anything to eat yet?"

Of course he had to detract from his kindness by trying to scare his sister. Gods forbid he do something nice for a change.

User ImageWhere was Vala indeed. Valamaradance the tainted gold had slipped away long ago to wait for her brother at the woods boarder. Vala stood for a time having forgotten to eat, she could hardly contain her excitement to see her brother again. Though she did not show it the same. She was a dragon of course.Valamaradance lifted her wings ascending into the air flapping them careful of the trees around her.

The Dragoness wove through the branches until she was above the great forest if only to have the best view when her brother returned. She wondered what Edar and Kastra were doing as she circled the trees above. They were late. Of course, Vala was never early or late. She always came precisely when she meant to.

But it was still nice to stretch her wings. She always had to be very careful in the woods. Or at least she felt as much. She had torn a hole in the canopy she could see from here. Both she and Kasra felt rather guilty for the damage and the gold had kindly let all four of them live in his carefully tended wood. Her tainted golden wings rippled with every wingbeat as she flew higher circling the damaged area for a moment. She wished there was a way for them to use the magic they once had. It would make repairing this damage so much quicker.

A familiar form came into her view finally after a time. Vala grinned her brother was back! Vala Roared a greeting and hoping both Kastra and Edar would hear as she flew toward Aurelius.
