Like most days, Talia was up with the sun. Her hair was a mess, her sheets were in tangles, but she was up. Bright and early, just like always. After a tromp through the bathroom to brush her teeth and fix her appearance, followed by a quick meal of a granola bar and an apple for breakfast, Talia was ready to face the day.
Armed with a cute ponytail and yoga pants, Talia began her trek to the local park. She'd agreed to meet up with Dom there, and then they were going to do a short job ... or something. She didn't remember all the details, but she DID know that he was cute and that was good enough.
Once at the park, she sat on the grass and began doing her warm-up stretches. It didn't seem like he'd arrived yet, but she was most likely fifteen minutes early anyways. She was obnoxiously punctual like that. Oh well. He would probably show up soon ...

The only reason Dominic -- college age, living on his own, and with a very flimsy idea of the meanings of "discipline" and "responsibility" Dominic -- was up before the sun was because he hadn't slept the previous night. It absolutely gave him something of a headache when he realized that today was the day he made plans to go jogging with a friend, but...well. How exactly was he supposed to turn down a pretty girl, anyway? The teen contemplated for a good while, and over a decent cup of coffee, whether he ought to cancel or not, but he came to the conclusion that since he was still wide awake he may as well show up. His sleep-wake cycle was ridiculously off-kilter, so despite having just had an all-night, Dom was feeling...relatively upbeat, never mind awake, so it was probably alright.
He even got the park early! Okay, so he was a little hyped up on coffee, but that wasn't that big a deal. After a bit of stretching he decided, since he'd actually gotten there way earlier than the time he and Talia agreed to, that he could use a warm-up run to loosen himself up a bit. By the time he made it back around, though, Talia was already seated in the grass nearby where he started. Smiling, the teen made his way over.
"Chu!" he called, smirking as he came up next to her and began jogging in place. If he stopped now Dom knew he wouldn't have any energy to get up and go jogging again, and he promised he would definitely be okay for an early morning jog that day. "Surprised I beat you, huh?" The smirk morphed into an smug, amused sort of grin. Really, he meant it more as a joke than anything.

Talia's head whipped around to the source of the noise, and her eyes were greeted by the recognition of her friend. The fact that he mentioned beating her irked her, but she decided it was better not to say anything. For now.
"I'm surprised you're awake at all," she teased. Talia at least had the knowledge that he slept pretty late, but she didn't know the reasons why or anything. "Were you that excited to see me?" The grin she shot him back was as equally smug as the one on his face.
Standing up, she stretched upwards and began the jog forward, gesturing for him to follow. "Where should we head? Towards the waterfront?"

The smirk stayed despite her bit of teasing. Dominic wouldn't deny that there was a small part of him that was, in fact, eager to see her. ...what? A pretty girl clad in a revealing-but-oddly-innocent jogging outfit, what's there not to look forward to? Plus Talia made for good company, so there. "See? Miracles do happen," the teen piled on with a bit of a grin. He was on the verge of barely managing to keep his energy up, but she didn't need to know that. The bags under his eyes probably gave it away, anyway. Laughing it off was just easier than trying to deny it.
In any case, the argument about whether or not he was excited to see her eventually settled in the back of his mind as his friend started jogging ahead; he simply followed, soon getting beside her. "Sounds good," came an easy answer, accompanied by a small shrug. Honestly? He didn't particularly care where they went. And he didn't really want to think about much of anything. Dom was more the person to go wherever his feet decided to take him when he went on jogs, which was why he never brought his bike along. He probably wouldn't bother to go back and get it, and just go back home on foot from wherever he ended up.
Dom was going at an easy pace, his breathing even and the beginnings of beads of sweat starting to form along his forehead. "So," he started to say, always finding conversation to be a good thing to be doing while jogging. "School starting to kill you yet?" The usual smile spread itself on the teen's face as he asked while giving Talia something of a side-glance.

Keeping their pace even, the eventually reached a crosswalk where the light turned red, warning them not to cross. Talia continued to jog in place and said, "It's okay. There are a lot of really stupid people in my classes," Talia admitted callously. "It's like they want their hand held through college or something."
The red hand on the sign turned into a white walking person, and she crossed the street picking up her pace from before. "The apartment's kind of a big change. I forgot that people have to actually wash their dishes!" At her parent's house there was a dishwasher, but the school didn't provide one for her apartment. She'd forgotten how much it sucked to wash dishes by hand!
"And you? What major are you again?" she asked, casually stretching her arms upward as they ran. It was always beneficial to get as much movement in your body as possible!_p a o cx i get so excited to see tags from you xDD <3

Dominic snorted at the idea of parents walking their kids through college. His parents were happy to just let him do his own thing, except maybe his control-freak of a father who suddenly started taking an interest in him again. Of course, that was the last thing he wanted to talk about. Dom didn't actually say anything and was happy to let the conversation drift to safer territories.
When it seemed as though it did just that when she mentioned her apartment, he smirked at the dishes thing. "We humans do laundry, too. And cooking, and cleaning," the teen jested in a matter-of-fact tone, though a chuckle escaped him right after. Laughing too much would screw up his breathing, which was still even, and he was already starting to feel the workout so that wouldn't be a good thing. The fact that he'd had no sleep the previous night didn't help at all either, and the coffee was just about ready to wear off.
However, conversation drifted back to school and majors and things, a topic that was somewhat sore for Dominic. While he'd graduated from high school and enrolled in some general ed. courses, the nineteen year-old didn't really have an idea about the direction he wanted his studies to go in. School had never been his thing in the first place -- boring lectures about subjects he cared very little (if at all) about -- and he'd never bothered to take it too seriously before, so having to decide a major was proving to be a challenge. He gave an honest shrug as they passed a peculiarly sculpted fountain, his eyes moving to it so as to avoid having to look at his friend.
"Eh, it's school," he said while making a face and purposely not answering the question about his major. He was undecided, and although there was nothing to be embarrassed about he wasn't up to the task of answering the usual questions: Well what do you like to do? Did you talk to your parents about it? Didn't your high school do something like career counseling?
Though he had no way of knowing if Talia would ask him anything at all beyond what his major was. Still, better to avoid that kind of thing altogether.

Talia laughed and stuck her tongue out at the sass for the dishes. She knew how to do all of it! She just hadn't realized that once on her own she'd actually have to do it. It wasn't so bad though- she was increasingly grateful her mother had taught her how to cook after watching one of her roomates eat cup of noodles nearly 3 times a week.
Dominic looked a bit out of it, so Talia slowed her pace a bit. She didn't want to wear him out when they hadn't even made it to the waterfront! Unfortunately, his sleeplessness was just chalked up to runner's fatigue in her mind.
Talia studied his face for a bit with his strange answer, but decided to let him get away with the secrecy. "Ooh I see, trying to keep it mysterious~" Talia jested back at the way he directly eschewed the question. "Maybe you're actually a secret agent who's only at school undercover, eh?" She laughed, reaching up to adjust her ponytail and push some of the curls out of her face.
"Well that's your business, Agent Dom. I'm engineering!" She was actually a bit proud of it. Her father had pushed for law or medicene, while her mother supported whatever she wanted so long as it was something you could do with a college career. She figured a good middle ground was engineering. She liked all the math and science, so it was a good fit.

The fact that she'd eased down the pace a bit did not go unnoticed by the raven-haired teen, but although he was grateful for it there was no way he'd say anything out loud. Dominic simply went along with it, silently appreciating her consideration; she probably noticed he wasn't completely up to par, energy-wise. Her jokes were a pleasant distraction though, so that was nice. Girls who were willing to ride along with his own sense of humor were always a bonus in his book.
The suggestion that he was a secret agent got an actual laugh out of him, and he closed his eyes for a few seconds. Hey, some people actually laughed that hard, right? Problem was his just...were really heavy to get back open. "Ya got me," he said in a somewhat sarcastic tone of voice, and with his eyes still closed, though he was smiling all the same. Once he managed to pry them open again, he added, "Still not telling, though."
Her announcement of her own major had Dom huff out of relief, though it probably just looked as though he was trying to get his breathing back to normal. If he didn't, on top of being stupidly exhausted from running without sleep from the previous night, his stomach would likely cramp like a b***h along the way. They came around a small bend in the path that passed along a very empty, very open grassy area, giving them a nice view of the first sign of sunrise. "Engineering, huh?" Dom asked as soon as he figured he was okay again.
He'd never given that major any thought before. It was probably similar to what he liked to do -- that is, tinker with his small gadgets and things around the house to try and "improve" them -- except...maybe on a grander, more useful scale. "Like that autoshop stuff back in high school, or a different kind of engineering?"

Talia let out a light, bubbly laugh and said, "Whatever you say, Agent Dom. Your secret is safe with me~" If he wanted to be secretive, she wouldn't pry. Maybe it was something embarrassing.
Another laugh greeted his question about engineering. "Oh no, it's more like ..." She tried to think of a way to phrase it, which was actually a bit difficult when she was trying to focus on not running in to anything. "It's like you take math and science and apply it to the world around you." She shrugged and said, "Like those problems in high school text books where a kid throws a ball and you trace its trajectory- it's like that, but with everything. Lots of calculations and architecture and planning."
If Dom had been trying to hide it before, now it was just too obvious that something was wrong. Talia slowed her pace to a walk and put a hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay? You don't look so good. Do you need some water? We can stop for a bit- I need a breather anyways." Actually, she didn't, but she didn't want Dom feeling bad about stopping. If he needed a pitstop, Dr. Talia was on the job!

That sounded like physics, he thought while she explained. Dom was also a little focused on not running into anything, but his problem was more because his eyes were seriously starting to droop. A guy running, literally running, without sleep probably wouldn't last for very long, no matter how much said guy wanted to keep a promised arrangement with a friend. A pretty girl friend, but that was a tiny detail.
Luckily the teen wasn't plowing into the ground yet, so he was still okay...ish. "Oh," he replied with a bit of a shrug and stifling a yawn. It felt weird...running and wanting to yawn. It likely looked just as weird as it felt, too. "Well that's cool. Never pegged you for a math-girl, though." Another statement made in jest, and Dom offered another smile, which faltered when she slowed to a walk and eventually stopped.
Busted? Dom listened quietly as she suggested some things to help him out, his eyes avoiding hers so he wouldn't completely give away the fact that he really hadn't slept at all. Despite himself, he waved off her offer. "Nah, I'm good. If you need to stop, though, I'm alright with that." Maybe it was a little pride thing? Maybe. He'd never admit that he was glad for the rest, anyway, whatever you wanted to call that.

Talia squinted at the yawn. Was she boring him that much? "Just because I'm drop dead gorgeous doesn't mean I don't like numbers!" She flipped her hair poignantly, to emphasize her point.
Now unfortunately, Talia- like her mother- was no expert at taking care of people. Even though Dominic was making it nearly as obvious as possible, Talia was chalking it up to runner's fatigue, not sleeplessness.
She decided to slow down and take a break, if only for Dominic's sake. "Well don't push yourself too hard. Can't bring you back broken, eh?"
Seeing as they were temporarily halted, she asked, "So what're your plans after this? Doing anything fun?" It was the weekend, after all. Maybe he'd have something interesting.

Dom could only smirk at her reaction. True enough, there were enough girls that he found really easy on the eyes that were smarter than him in the math department. He was a natural at the subject but performed at an average level unless he decided to apply himself properly, which...well, happened only once in middle school because of a dare issued by a friend. "Alright, alright. No need to stroke your ego that much." He laughed and instinctively stepped a little to his left to avoid a hit in case she decided to get violent.
No doubt Dominic was grateful for the fact that she hadn't called him out on his sleeplessness, and her concern only widened the smile that had settled onto his face. "Never do," came an easy reply. "Besides, a jog isn't gonna kill me. C'mon." His smile went a little on the smug side, though he didn't make any gestures. Dom always believed himself to be on the sturdier side, so this was...almost nothing. Almost.
"And no plans. Probably looking at another day in, I think..."
Honestly, he didn't have that much of a social life. Sure, he went out, but most of his weekends were usually spent indoors working on another project or catching up on his sleep. Currently, his only thing he planned to do when he got home was to collapse on his bed and sleep until the next day. "Unless someone decides to give me something to do, y'know. You?"

Talia reset her pacemaker that was wrapped around her arm and pumped her arms a few times. "Only if you're alright with still going. Don't push yourself, kay?" She flashed him a smile that could've cured cancer and shoved herself off the payment, rocketing into a run once more.
"Oh my," she said to his second comment. "Mr. Styles, my fragile composition can't handle your adamant frivolity," she teased, faking a terrible southern accent. "I think there's a coffee shop a few blocks from the waterfront. Want to grab a drink?"

The teen shrugged and watched her for a second before she suddenly shot off ahead of him. As though she'd just issued a challenge -- and at the absolute protest of every muscle in his body, not to mention his brain -- Dominic went after her. He felt heavy, though, and soon found he'd lost his steam and his pace puttered back down to a walk within seconds. "I can't not push myself if you run like that!" he called after her, then started jogging at a more leisurely pace until he'd caught up.
"Well, I try," he returned the comment with his own atrocious southern accent, then considered the coffee in a few beats of silence. In the end he gave another shrug. "Coffee sounds goo--" the teen stopped mid-sentence, the southern accent still flavoring his words. Dom cleared his throat. "I mean -- there we go, that's better -- coffee sounds good, yeah. Why not make it breakfast, though?"
Honestly he kind of planned on going to bed soon, but if he got home still a little hyped up on caffeine then maybe he could get at least another good hour in on his latest project before collapsing. Productivity was never a bad thing, no matter his physical condition, so it wasn't a bad plan.

Talia laughed, happy to hear compliments about how fast she could run. She worked hard at this kind of stuff! It was nice to get recognized every once in a while.
"You're not supposed to eat big meals after you run!" Health nut Talia on the case. "I supposed we could get something small ..." There was no harm in an apple or two, right?
She shrugged and said, "Whatever you want. You're paying!" Such a tease, that one._p a o cx im fine if you want to time skip- or we could do the coffee date in another rp. whatever you'd like o V o !
