Stepping off the boat Erionda was relieved to feel the cold chill of Aisko once again. The one thing she wasn't happy about was her lack of harvested kills. The creatures she had fought on Eowyn the day before were not conducive to anything she needed. They were too slimy to be considered meat and the other didn't seem to have a 'physical' body could really tear apart and eat. Taking a deep breath and tilting her head back Erionda closed her eyes and sighed. It was rejuvenating to be on Aisko.
Pushing off of her Hastar Erionda wanted the freedom of walking on her feet in the cold world. Patting the Aiskiian Hastars neck she could tell that the Hastar was also happy to be back on Eowyn. Giving a smile towards Lanzecki and Uassae who followed behind a slow distance she shrugged her shoulders. It wasn't like she could get them to move faster until they had crossed the mountains to return home. The cold air worked against them, and she had left the sword that produced heat, at home.
"What are we going to do for meat?" Lanzecki asked pouting as he blodded on behind the rest of the group. His tummy rumbled with the empty nature it was insistent it had.
"That's a good point, we do need more food and maybe a nice pelt for the babies?" Uassae offered.
Erionda turned around at her two companions. They were right she needed something she could use as both food and warmth. Calling the Hastar to stop Erionda scratched her head and looked towards the sky in thought. There was always the chance of hunting here. Many of the creatures while tough still had a good source of meat on them because of the cold. Not to to mention a good pelt or two.
Her mind started listing off with the different animals she could remember on on Aisko, Boken were a waist of time, to small and insignificant and their meat was worse. There were no vitamins or calories that would be helpfull to her children. She had heard rumor once that if you lived on bouken meat and that alone you would die. Due to the lack of nutrition in them. She scratched them off the list. She would rather be dead then hunt a Hastar for it's meat. She wanted to create a breeding program with them. They were bound to be a good source of income even for a hybrid. Aiskiian Hastars were rare and hard to come by and even harder to train. Jabrvin lived in dark caves and were impossible for her to find right now.
Uassae who had been listening to Erionda's thoughts spoke up. "What about the Makka? It's a good balance of both."

"I don't think I've ever fought one before."
"They don't appear in just one," Uassae warned. Walking up so he was moving alongside Erionda. "They stay in herds. And are very perceptive to threats."
Erionda gave her older Khehora an almost sadistic grin. "That sounds like my sort of challenge. Don't you think?"
Uassae almost looked like he was ready to step back at the look on Erionda's face. "Well maybe but there may be more than one or two." He cautioned.
Nodding Erionda's smile couldn't help but grow. " So all we need to do is find this heard. I will need you're help Lanzcki and Uassae."
"But WHY!" Lanzecki whined in a trembling crescendo.
"Weren't you paying attention you Dolt! We need more food and fur. Unless you want to starve or try and hunt on your own," Uassae snapped.
Lanzcki's whimper grew into a shuddering high pitched whine. "I don't want to hunt on my own."
"I didn't think so, now, why not help us hunt these Makka so we can return home soon."
Rolling her eyes as her Khehora communicated with each other Erionda's eyes scanned the rolling tundra of Aisko. Plotting out her course. She only knew were Makka didn't live, which was the wide open. She had no idea where she would find them other than that. The mountains near her home perhaps? She hadn't come across any of them there when she traveled from Eowyn to home. Maybe she was incorrect and they really were out in the open.
She listened to Uassae and Lanzecki argue for a little bit longer before she gave up and started moving forward. It would be easier if they could just take to the skies and search in an aerial fashion. It would cut down the time and energy in tracking. But she wouldn't force them to do what she wanted, they were just as much her friends as family. They weren't working creatures enslaved to her. She had made that promise to each of them when they hatched.

Patiently waiting for the two khehora to finish their bickering Erionda cleared her throat. "So where do you suppose we start looking first. I know searching from the skies means we will be finished faste-"
Erionda didn't have a chance to finish her words before Lanzecki was in the air. The faster the better. I want to be home in my nest where it's warm and cozy and made by you!
Stunned Erionda didn't know quite how to respond to that. But smiled up at Lanzecki anyway, maybe that's how she would be able to get him to move without forcing him in the future. Turning to look at Uassae Erionda shrugged her shoulders and wrapped her arms around her self. "Would you mind being my eyes from the sky some more my friend."
Uassae snorted and took to the skies flying an opposite direction from where Lanzecki was searching. They could cover more ground that way. Sending her thanks to her companions Erionda kicked her Hastar into motion as she too started searching a space the other Khehora were not.
The land seemed cold and lonely the way the snow rolled in front of her with every gust. The way everything seem still and quiet and without life. Tracking creatures was harder in Aisko. Snowstorms raged often in the winter months and covered the tracks of beasts especially when she was trying to hunt.
Uassae and Lanzecki seemed to be feeling the same thing until Erionda hit the side of a mountain she hadn't been on before. A dark shadow on the far end made Erionda think she had stumbled upon a deep cave. Mentally signalling to her companions Erionda waited for one of them to appear over head to search.
Her oldest Khehora was the first one to appear and circle above, sending pleasant emotions over the bond before speaking.
You're right! There are a few of the Makka here. It looks like a small herd of maybe five? Uassae guessed circling back to land beside Erionda. Lanzecki didn't even circle the ground instead of just landing beside the rest of his companions.
"Then what are we waiting for?"
Rubbing her shoulders Erionda twisted her back to relieve the pain from riding. Groaning as some of the tension released from her muscles. Sighing and letting her shoulders sag Erionda kicked her leg over and dismounted the Hastar she was riding. Making a come hither motion with her finger a large pole of ice grew from the ground. "Nothing, hold on. Just let me tie up the Hastar and we should be good to go!"
Taking the rope between her teeth Erionda's hands cupped around the pole as she formed a small loop to attach the rope to. Slipping the rope into place and tying it with a quick release knot Erionda nodded to her companions.

"I will carry you over the snow. It will be much quicker." Uassae offered.
Nodding Erionda climbed onto his back. Thrilled as the trio took off over the snow towards the cave's that housed a small herd of Makka. At least she assumed they were a small herd, they could very well be guards at the front of the cave to protect the rest of the herd inside.
A thought came to Erionda durring the silent run through the snow. What if they attacked during a snow storm.
No, Uassae's thoughts cut in. They can sense that kind of stuff coming. When I am out hunting often it's those Makka who will see it coming and give a warning to everything else. It will make it hard for us to navigate through and they are at the advantage.
Erionda was taken back by the thoughts. She had no idea, so how did Uassae know. Then again he had answered her with the hunting part. He and Lanzecki would often hunt on their own when Erionda was tied up with feeding her babies. In a way it made sense that he had more information than she did. Patting the side of his neck in understanding Erionda kept her eyes focused ahead to the small brown blobs in the distance.
The closer they got the more thrilled she became. With her energy and magic restored she was free to hunt as she wanted. She just needed to be careful on how she was going to kill the beasts. She didn't want to puncture the saddle of their hides. It was the best part for warmth and quality of fur.
"We've been spotted." Lanzecki whimpered.
"Oh, cut your whining." Uassae snapped back. Only to have Erionda roll her eyes.
Gathering herself together Erionda tried to pull on her magic. Three of the large Makka were already heading strait for her. She felt unprepared for the attacks. Nothing had attempted to charge her as she was hunting them. Not like these were now doing. Stumbling backwards Erionda's hands flicked towards the sky with her palms upward. Her skill created a magic circle around an area in front of her. A thick wall of ice sprang up to block the path between her and the charging Makka.
Swallowing down her surprise and fear at the quickness of the Makka it wasn't until they crashed into her ice wall and leaving massive gaps in running through the frame that she trembled. They hit it again shattering her defensive move. Jumping back with both arms outstretched her eyes lit with a fire as she stared the first three off.
They were by far a greater threat than most of the other creatures she had fought. The Urshund while aggressive and attacking from below were attacking to eat. That was a much less threatening proposition than Makka attacking to defend out of fear. Fear was a different kind of drive, from hunger. With hunger less effort would be placed in killing a troublesome meal. Defending a family was what made creatures put more effort into everything they did.
Shaking her head Erionda brought her magic about. Bringing up walls of ice around the three attacking Makka. Slamming her wrists together with her fingers spread as far about from each other as physically possible Erionda then thrust her hands into the sky. Giving a slight turn Erionda managed to conjure several bird like creatures.
Hawks of Miska, a new spell she had learned after being huddled in the library with her daughter. She had stumbled upon two books of conjuration. And while she was still working hard to master the first and rather harmless conjuration spell before moving onto the more powerful one she had at least managed to create these birds.
Sharp points of ice for wings they dove towards the Makka. Cutting at their feet and faces. Reaching behind her while the three beasts were kept occupied by the birds Erionda pulled her imprinted weapon out from where it lay against her back.

Equiping her shield as quickly as she could and turning to Uassae and Lanzecki who took off forward towards the one on the left. Erionda moved towards the right. The middle one was completely encased in a box of ice and would take some time before it would have the ability to break free of it's confines. Erionda was sure of that. No matter how hard it hit the first time. It wouldn't have the strength alone to do what three could together.
Her sword swung out as the Makka she was aiming against caught sight of her. It moved to fast for her to react to. Her sword catching it in the chest and pushing back into her. Erionda yelped at the pain. The beast plunging into the blade and knocking it back into her was bound to leave a very nasty bruise in it's wake. Hissing as the Makka started to stagger Erionda blinked. That had been happening quite a bit recently since her attack on the strange ant-like creatures she had later learned were called Visprii, or something like that.
After some searching and speaking to the other hybrids she had met in her travels only a couple days ago she had learned the queen. Which is what she must have faced off against. Had a special venom in her system which her sword probably absorbed. It was a comfort to her to know her weapon hadn't been damaged. She was sure she would feel the pain if that had happened but at the same time. She still couldn't help but worry something bad had happened. After all the stories of strange creatures that feasted on metal. Including imprinted weapons.
Watching the Makka stagger to the ground Erionda pulled her sword free. Bending over to slit the creatures throat and let it bleed out in the snow. Using her magic to raise it up on a platform of ice so the fur wouldn't be stained by the blood. She would need to harvest the fur and meat later. Turning to the Makka in the middle Erionda head snapped around. It had broken about and now wasn't in site. Moving to check the box like trap she was holding it in something hit her side. Left her staggering and gasping for air. She could have sworn she had even heard a crack with the connection.
Turning around in time to see Uassae's teeth baring down into the neck of the Makka that had hit her. Looking to see where the third Makka was Erionda's eyes grew wide as she noticed Lanzecki dragging a limp body across the snow. It's mouth open with it's tongue rolled out to the side. She could see it's body convulsing to suck air in with no effort. Had they crushed it's wind pipe and now it was suffocating? Her Khehora companions were more than just friends they were powerful and strong allies that could be feared with skills enough to fight. Even if a good chunk of their power was stored inside her now.

"If you can put it with the other one." Erionda instructed Lanzecki.
Turning to regard the Makka that had injured her side Erionda was glad Uassae was holding it down for her. Wincing with the effort to raise her blade Erionda plunged the weapon into the eye of the Makka. Aiming for the brain just beyond that. Dropping to her knees with her arm wrapped around her body and trying to hold onto the pain in her side before it could spill into the rest of her body. Her magic swirled, numbing the ends of her nerves so she couldn't feel the pain. It was a trick she had learned in her fathers books. The pain would return, but for now she could easily ignore it.
The hawks she had summoned not long ago were trampled shards of ice in the snow. She hadn't expected them to last very long. They had done what she had initially intended them to do. Scare the creatures so she had time to work on eliminating them one by one.
"This should be more than enough right Uassae." Looking up to her Khehora Erionda's face drained of color. He was back on the defensive again. Almost like he was getting ready to attack another wave of creatures. She could feel her body groan as she turned to face another three charging at her.
Extending her hand out Erionda turned the snow under the Makka's hooves to solid ice. Stepping out of the way she continued to form the path. Letting it wind in a loop. Making sure she was on the ice as the Makka drew closer Erionda side stepped just in time. The Makka unaware of the change in texture under it slipped into the path Erionda had created for it. The force in which it was charging sent it hurling forward as Erionda pulled a spike out the ground catching the Makka through it's mouth.
That was four down! A feat she could be proud of. She didn't really need all the fur she could harvest from the Makka now. But then again they could be useful for some of the Hybrids trapped in Eowyn. Or her friends like Junjie who often visited. A warm cloak, if only she could learn to enchant items. Tending to the nerve ending that were on fire Erionda sucked in some air. She was ready for the next one.
The next charging Makka skid to a stop. Sniffing at the ice that had trapped the one before it. Smart enough not to be following it's other companion. Erionda took the opportunity in it's hesitation to use her magic. Casting a shell of ice around the animals head she was relieved to find Lanzecki leaping in for the kill. As the trio worked together they were starting to become more and more like a perfect unity in battle. She and Killian would never reach this level together. It pained her to know that was the truth but she knew she wouldn't be able to rely on him like she could her own Khehora.
Another Makka was charging. This time Erionda reacted differently. It's horns were pressed close to the ground as if it wanted to throw her up into the air. Rolling to the side Erionda slashed her sword outward. Attempting to ward off the creature as her side protested her movements. She was having a slight bit of trouble breathing.
Uassae free from his engagements plodded over to Erionda. Pressing his nose into her side he prepared his healing magic. Focusing on the bones first. Her frozen nerves prevented her from feeling the pain that the healing bones and broken blood vessels would normally be causing her.

"I don't know what I would do without you." Erionda purred as the pain lifted from her body and her bones healed. Among whatever else was causing her pain.
"Well if you want to play in the sandbox of what might have been." Uassae's low rumble filled the spaced around them. "You could have been born a helpless Oblivionite boy like one ore two we might know."
Erionda scoffed at the comment and prepared for the next wave of Makka to approach. Refreshed from her energy Erionda ran forward to meet the one closest to her. Grabbing hold of a horn on the side of the head and swinging herself up onto it's back. Slapping one hand on each horn Erionda's magic began to creep up along the edges of the creatures horns engulfing the beast's head in ice. It's head growing too heavy for the animal to keep it up. Crashing into the ground, Erionda flipped off of the Makka. Landing on her feet she slit her blade across it's throat.
Lanzecki tackled one from the side, the two of them tumbled through the snow and across the frozen patch of ice. His claws ripping and kicking against the soft underside of the Makka's belly with enough force to open the monster up.
Uassae lunged towards another as the rest of the herd seemed to stampede closer to them. Jumping forward with his wings outspread as wide as he could get them to go. Lowering his head to the ground and flicking his tail quickly from side to side Uassae let out a very loud roar. Startling some of the weaker Makka from continuing forward along their path. Bunching up his muscles Uassae jumped at another one of the Makka.
We better not be planning on doing this again for a very very long time Erionda! Lanzecki spoke across the bond. And we should be well topped on food for a while.
Erionda had to agree. This was an impressive sized killing. They would be full of meat for months to come. Especially with her ability to encase the meat in ice to keep them from going bad and decaying. That had always been a problem on Eowyn. She wasn't able to keep the meat cool enough so she had to cook it right away for fear of it going bad. She preferred the fresh meat.
Looking off across at three that had been startled by Uassae's roar Erionda gripped her sword tightly in her fingers. Shoving her hand out in front of her Erionda walked forward,. Double checking by senses where her Khehora were. Making sure they were both behind her she started building a powerful snowstorm.
That seemed to get their attention. Squaring her shoulders in their direction Erionda did her best to build the storm quicker than they could run away. Attempting to freeze their legs tot he ground Erionda was happy to have been successful.
Waiting until Uassae and Lanzecki were finished with their Makka Erionda turned her attention towards the ones she had frozen. "Do you think we have enough pelts from the kills?" She asked.
"More than enough. It's making me drool just looking at them." Lanzecki muttered. "Can I have some before you freeze it. There's nothing like a good just killed carcass."
Erionda smiled and nodded towards the remaining three. "Of course. But we should probably kill them as well if we want meat to take back."
Eager to have his stomach filled with fresh meat the Ayrala Khehora bounded forward. The death of the final three came quickly to them. Erionda felt almost terrible for killing an entire herd of Makka, then again none of them seemed to be pregnant and there were likely more of the large herd hidden deep inside the cave.
