Personality: Kyoto is a very tame individual. She's very calm and nimble-minded, her wit is outmatched by few, and her loyalty to her village is quite flexible; ranging from next to non-existent to morally obscure. While Kyoto has tendencies to become lost in thought, she can also be incredibly serious; militant even. Kyoto was born to unknown parents, in an unknown village. She was found in wrapped in a blanket in the centre of Konoha. No belongings, no loved ones, she was alone in the world. She was raised as a child of the state, without parents, or any discernible guardians, she had no person to teach her how to behave in an appropriate or sociable manner. She would spend days on end reading and writing, or simply finding herself lost in thought within the safe constructs of a tall tree near her apartment building. She would consistently ignore the friendly gestures of her peers. Life was less than enjoyable, not because is was neccessarily bad, or abnormal; plenty of children grew up without parents as casualties of being shinobi. However, they had dreams, to make their parents happy by becoming shinobi by themselves, to serve the village, or to become Hokage. Perhaps they wanted to find vengeance for their people, but Kyoto had none of these things, no goals or dreams, no particular skills to direct her future. She didn't even know who her parents were...However, one day she made a decision. A decision to leave this life, she didn't want to end her existence, nor did she want to continue walking a meaningless path. She wanted to become a shinobi.
Academy years: Kyoto entered the academy with only one discernible goal; to become a shinobi. She didn't have any talent at first, but she continued to work hard day-in and day-out. Most days she would sneak kunai and shuriken from her class, spending her evenings slinging projectiles at trees, as though she would be able to find meaning in life through constant practice; as though all of her questions would be answered if she could become a powerful shinobi. Perhaps she would find someone to make proud of her. Kyoto quickly rose to the top of her class, her projectile skills sky-rocketing; hitting the target every time without fail. Her hand-to-hand combat skills were nothing to laugh at, but nor were they anything to be proud of. However, Kyoto continued to spend her time in solitude, whether it was spent reading or training, she remained vacant on the inside; devoid of feelings for all others.
But everything changed when the fire nation attacked her teacher approached her with concerns. She was granted a mentor that day, he would begin to teach her the art of blending in, not with the environment, but with society. How to talk to others, and how to act while in public. It had little effect on her behaviour, however, she finally had someone to make proud, someone to work for...until he disappeared. Driven out of the village for reasons unbeknownst to her, her childhood mentor would never return...
