I've noticed something... I mean... most of the characters here have VERY sad stories... like...

Celes for example - She was infused(?) with esper powers... grown to become a General in the Emperor's army until she turned into a traitor and meets locke who lets her Join the Returners...

see anything here?

Empire = Oligarchs
Returners = Us ordinary ppl

am I making sense? If i have time i will add more clues to this hidden messages thing in FF6... this is one reason why i love FF6... Shows lots of the problems of reality... Heh... i really hope im making sense gonk

and look at this... for some reason i have a feeling that our government isnt the one controlling the country... Its the banks ppl!!!!! MONEY MAKERZ gonk ... Ya... Kefka was kinda representing the greed. sweatdrop

these charas represent something
Celes - The way Media wants us to be... look... we are grown with tv... radio... they can make us believe things that arnt even true... gonk

Locke - Our dreams... searching for the greatest treasure that is freedom

Edgar - the very very few ppl in position who sacrifice everything for the people. Edgar sacrificed something im sure... he put figaro in jepopardy when he allied with the returners... in my POV...

Gau - our generation's innocence about this problem. we seem to know nothing, but we try our best to learn.. like gau... he fights for ... iunno... but he was innocent xp

Terra - The result of cruelty. some of us are led into terra's state of mind, confused.... not knowing who she exactly is or something. She was led into the path of peace when she joined the returners... and maybe she represents the choices we're supposed to take should be for the better good of everyone... 3nodding

Cyan - Victim of cruelty... wants revenge... most of us oppressed/in-povery ppl have just this thinking. He represents the feeling of loss... nothingness... when he joined the returners he had a new meaning of life i suppose... to stop this cruelty from ever happening to anyone else...

... any other charas i forgot? sweatdrop

i think a slightly fun aspect you missed was the way Setzer lost a bet to Celes (government char) and was forced to work with the group that way,

also when you made reference to Edgar you forgot the importance of his brother Sabin, the way he didn't want to rule, and has his brother do it instead.

although i don't really think there is a hidden meaning, i do think that each of us can identify with a character, in this game, and see value in the story. myself i see myself in Locke. the way he has a lost love, and is unable to trust anybody else because of this.

o.o... wow... you go in depth don't you?

hmm... well let's see... (please note, many of the characters i mentionn are a bit further into the game, so don't read if you dont know em, or do. your choice.)

Gogo- A mime. What more can you say about him really? He fits in by being able to do what anyone else can. A better clown than most.

Umaro- A beast that uses anger to his advantage but is only calmed by his one true friend: Mog. BIGFOOT!!!!! o.o...

Mog: The little dancing guy that feels a bit left out, but is ultimately plays a vital role in saving the planet. Dancer of many places.

Shadow: A ruthless mercenary that still has a soft spot for *spoiler* his daughter Relm *end spoiler*. Owner of dog.

Relm: The misunderstood artist who just wants to be accepted and not have to live by her grandfather's rules all the time. Painter of Octupi.

Strago: The protective grandfather who is at first afraid to go back to his old ways for fear of being rejected. Only wishes the best for his grandaughter and therefore can be a bit overprotective at times. Old man, bald head.

Chupon: Another guy who shows us that jsut because you're pink doesn't mean you don't kick arse. (go kirby, go kirby.... >.> <.<... xd ) Thing of Big Pink.

The Espers: Misunderstood beings who were betrayed by their friends because a few of them got power hungry. Beings of many forms.

Gestahl: The power hungry lord who was betrayed in the end because of his selfishness by the one person he thought would help him still. Man of long beard.

Kefka: The typical insane, power hungry maniac who wants world domination no matter who he has to stab in the back. Eventually gets his wish, becomes a god and is defeated by the 'good guys'. ((does anyone else not like how the good guys almost ALWAYS seem to win? *twitch* it irks me...)). No, no he isn't.

Sabin: A youthful, spirited man who just wants to be free from duties and obligations. Yet even so always tried to do the right thing. The bodybuilder xd

Interceptor: A loyal friend to his nmaster. (I can relate so much with him o.O... >.> <.<... nvm...). The dog (duh o.O).

Banon: Leader fighting to bring peace back to the world, an organizer of sorts that gives the people fighting someone wise and understanding, yet tough as nails (ha!) to rely upon for guidance and leadership. The... one guy...

Gau's Father: A man driven insane by the child he never wished he had. A denier (is that a word? if so sp) of the facts and unable to accept them no matter how things may change. Man in need of repairs.

The Wounded Soldier: A man only wanting to see the love of his life again, who is dedicated to her eternally. Sender of gifts.

Cyan (extra): A kind man who Spoiler sends letters to the wounded soldier, pretending to be his love so that the man can live happily... at least for a while. spoiler end even though he is still haunted by his tragic losses. Dreamer of the stooges.

Vargas: A rush type, get-things-done-now!, type of guy who's selfishness led him to overlook the truth and be killed because of it. Guy doomed because of weak-arse pummel damage

Ultros: The purple squid who just can't seem to have his arse whooped enough to stop. Fairly annoying too... friend of big pinky (Chupon)

Cid: Man whom tries to correct his mistakes by atoning for them. Eater of fish...

Tritoch: A triple elemental esper frozen and sought out many times for many different reasons. Teacher of high magics.

Leo: A general who realizes he mistakes the empire is making and tries to stop them. Unfortunately is betrayed and killed by Kefka. Kicker of a**.

and that's it for now... if i think of more, i'll tell ya. but umm... someone may want to think about rewriting mine so they make more sense. i was just kinda describing what i know of them o.O...

In essence every Final Fantasy can be applied to real life...in themes of course...and you learn lessons too

Tyr Hawk- A guy who can go more in depth about FFVI characters than anyone else I know. He usually uses a single format for describing them. Man of great knowledge.

xd (that was a compliment, BTW)

Denier is not a word, but you can just change it to "He denies the facts". ANd you really think Gogo's a guy? Hmm... I beg to differ. Oh well.

I have no problems if you think Gogo's a guy, it's just that the game never really tells us and I happen to think that Gogo's SEMI-SPOILER Darryl END SEMI-SPOILER. So no confusion at all, and you're welcome! 3nodding

Tyr Hawk
Gogo's Darryl? o.O... I think i missed something... umm.. .explain to me what it is again.

It's not a fact, it's just my opinion. We never get any of Gogo's backstory, and we never know for a fact that Darryl's dead. I think Setzer says that himself at one point... Anyways, the whole thing makes sense to me. Assuming she survived the Falcon's crash, Darryl would probably be horribly burned/scarred/generally icky looking, so logically she'd wear tons of clothing to cover it up. And I've never seen anyone wear more clothing than Gogo.

Again, this makes about as much sense as any other theory, but every other character has some type of story. With Square's attention to character development and detailed plotlines, I refuse to believe that they simply flung a random pointless character into the mix. It's true that Gogo-like charries have appeared in other FF games, but if Square wanted Gogo to have a cameo, they could have just used her as a boss or something. In my opinion, they would not have bothered going through the complexities of adding a character unless that character had a legitimate reason for being in the game.

So I think Gogo is Darryl. I could be wrong, I could be right, we'll never know. That's just what I think. 3nodding

*ish flattered* I spend a great deal of time coming up with theories like that. I'm particularly proud of my DBZ ones. I'd think more about FFVI, but most of the gaps have been filled in already.

PS. I'm adding that to my collection of quotes. 3nodding
