"The monsters of late don't seem to give you much trouble, do they?" Erionda paused from reading her scrolls to glance towards the voice. Her back hunkered up against the well. With the sun on the other side of the strange figure. Squinting in the sunlight that blotted out the features on the stranger Erionda moved her hand to cover her eyes. She had no interest in anyone else attempting to fight her today.
She was strong enough to defend herself against just about anyone. The only ones she considered stronger than her were the leaders themselves. Because of her strength she was able to easily fend off many of the irritating Magescians who set out in hopes of her head as a trophy. She smirked lightly up at the shadowy figure. "If you count the previous fight, that one was weak," she scoffed. Turning to ignore the stranger and return to her studies.
The stranger shrugged. "Could it be the manifestations of some other frustrations?"
Erionda shifted her gaze to the side to meet the stranger's overly innocent expression. "I don't think I like where you're going with this. If you intent to fight me because you think you can best that Oblivionite, you're wasting your time."
"Not at all, I swear." The stranger shifted his position out of the sunlight. Allowing Erionda a chance to get a better look at him.
A hybrid, of both Oblivionite and Orderite lineage. He had short platinum blond hair. Dark brown skin and near white eyes like an Orderite. A pang rushed through her, had she known he was a hybrid like her she wouldn't have acted so rudely. Raising an eyebrow she remained silent, awaiting the rest of his words. It was better not to apologize in this situation. She had treated him like she would anyone else, that was something most hybrids stove for. To be treated like anyone else.
"Actually I was searching for some help. You have no idea how grateful I am to have stumbled upon another Hybrid. Especially one so acclaimed as yourself."
Erionda blushed at the flattery but continued to remain silent.
"My caravan. We were... well trying to get to safe haven. We heard rumors of a town that was protected for our kind. On our way there, we ran into some trouble. You seem powerful enough do you think you could help us."
Blinking twice Erionda regarded the hybrid a moment longer before closing her books with a sigh. "It can't be helped. Eowyn is the worst place to be attempting anything when it comes to travel."
She should know, she had spent many grueling years on Eowyn. As for why she was still here, Erionda had been in search of Tilawen for some time. She had promised Junjie she would try to find her. Any sign of her. Perhaps helping these strangers could point her in a better direction. "Lanzecki Uassae." Erionda shouted earning a puzzled look from the other hybrid. Pushing to her feet Erionda quickly packed up her things and stored them away on her Aiskiian Hastar.
Leading the creature around before mounting up Erionda nodded to the strange companion that had come to ask for her aid. A signal that she was ready to follow him in whatever manner that was required. Cautous and only willing to follow from behind him.
It was hard to trust much of anyone on the desert sands. To many people wanted to try and create an ambush. Just because they were hybrids didn`t mean they didn`t have one or two people who would try to cause trouble. It was the nature of the world.
"I saw a poster of you in the port. While old and bleached by the sun. I was wondering why it wasn't kept up to date."
Erionda gave the back of the hybrids head a suspicious glare. It wasn't often her wanted posters were mentioned anymore. Most had faded away since the ritual many years ago. Something she still considered a farce to this day, but if it allowed her kids to enter the celestial plane even once. Then maybe, just maybe it would be worth it.
She remained silent, ignoring the other hybrids attempts for communication as they walked. Her eyes were focused on where they were going. Lanzecki in the air was searching the ground and sending back news to her on what he saw. Uassae stalked quietly behind. His Aeduan nature and the color of his hide allowed him to blend more easily into the sand. This way if there was potential for an ambush he would be able to notify Lanzecki and Erionda quickly enough to prevent a death, or two.

Flicking her fingers against the light sheer cloth casually draped around her body. Erionda activated a small spell circle. Letting the ice magic works it's way around her body. Chilling the deadly heat before it could reach her once again. She was thankful for the many years she had spent on Eowyn. If it wasn't for that she wouldn't have discovered how to keep her temperature in a more stable zone when she needed it most. So while she hated the hot dry continent she couldn't blame it. Not really.
Pinching her nose as her hastar plodded along below her, following the hybrid with accuracy Lanzecki's energy became startled. Feeding across the bond liberally.
Trap or not I don't know, there is a strangely crushed boat up ahead but there's something worse here! Almost like tunnels just came up and devoured part of what was here. There isn't much further ahead we can go. We are nearly upon the shore!
Erionda's face went white. "What ate the caravan?" She suddenly asked.
"What do you mean 'ate the caravan'?" The hybrid turned to give Erionda a puzzled look. "All that was wrong were wheels that were broken and stuck in the sand. We just needed help either with repair or carrying the materials to our new safe place."
With a glance forward Erionda shook her head. "My Khehora can't see much of any caravan ahead. Scraps of one maybe..." Erionda trailed off at the pained look on the hybrids face. So it wasn't a trap in the end, Erionda thought. Kissing her Hastar into motion. "Come on, I don't think we will have much time to loose."
"Khehora?" Erionda heard the hybrid mutter as he moved to keep up with her.
With Lanzecki's guidance it wasn't hard to find what was left of the caravan. Tunnels ran deep into the ground all around them. Narrowing her gaze Erionda crept towards the entrance to the first tunnel. Jumping back at the first sign of movement. "What is that!? It's not something I've come across before."
Scuffing the ground Erionda was surprised when a large giant worm-like creature produced a strangely warped head from the hole. Resisting the need to vomit, Erionda was sure her companion wasn't as fortunate.
With a glance back she could see his face pale in the mid afternoon sun. Her eyes flashed back towards the creature sizing it up as it wiggled out of the hole. The entire thing made her sick on far to many levels. Even the strange needle like legs it had to move with. Reaching behind her she gripped the hilt of her imprinted weapon. Slowly drawing it out of the protective casing as the mettle scrapped together.
Just as her own powers had grown, so had her blade in retrospect. Stamping her foot into the sand. Erionda pulled to life a magic circle around her feet. Attempting to send her magic forward and create a web of ice to hold the creature in place. Her body trembled with the effort while it was considered winter in Magesc, Eowyn wasn't the best climate for her magic. The cloudy sky and spits of rain that were starting, however, did offer some small bit of help in it's own way.
Odd. It didn't often rain on Eowyn. Erionda brushed that thought off as she focused on the task at hand. The creature had to be killed, sliced open. What if it was some sort of man eating creature and had devoured the mans mate? That was unacceptable to her. Pushing her magic harder Erionda managed to trap the first creature as a second one burst out of the sand.
Wait, did these travel in packs too? The thought grated on her nerves.
"If you can trap it like you did the first I can finish it off." Erionda turned to see two more Dovaa hybrids appear. Both appeared to be of the Oblivionite mix. Not wanting to argue or show off Erionda struggled with her magic again. Trying to press the boundaries of her skill as far out as she could.
"It's good to see you guys again Kaws, Kawth!" It was the other hybrid that had lead her here.
Growling irritably mentally asked Uassae and Lanzecki to keep a watch on her back. Just because they were Oblivionite's didn't mean they could or couldn't be trusted. Most anyone was hard to trust, even hybrids.
Erionda pinched her eyes closed as best she could to focus on her magic. Pushing it further and further away from her. Doing her best to hold onto the creatures as they flailed about. Every time she heard the ice crack she would strengthen it's hold.

Clinging to her magic Erionda could feel the prickle of magic from the two hybrid Dovaa's. She shivered as a result of the feelings. She didn't like the sensations of either one. Opening her eyes to get a better look, Erionda jumped. This was bad! If it turned out to be a trap in the end. It would be all to likely for them to work together to cause her some devastating pain. One of the hybrids was a Firani, the other a Gaili.
Swallowing Erionda watched as flames engulfed the second and stones began to fill the space around her ice webbing. "If it's all the same to you Hybrid, would you mind removing your ice now and attacking it?" The Gaili Dovaa questioned rudely.
Erionda's eyebrows twitched at the comment. About to retort with a smart remark the ground rumbled below her feet. Another worm popped out of the ground throwing Erionda high into the air. It took great effort to correct herself. Using her magic to create small walls in the air that fell as fast as she did. Kicking away from them she lunged at the newest arrival. A pillar of ice appeared in each of her hands, digging their sharp points into the worm-like creature as she fell.
It's screech nearly deafened her. Attempting to cover her ears, Erionda could still feel them ringing long after the painful wail had ended. Two down. One still to go.
"Over here another one." The Firani shouted.
Scratch that. Now there were two alive and two dead. Did creatures just like to swarm about her or something? Turning to look over at the Gaili she was surprised to see a hammer had beaten his opponent down. Turning to assist with the final worm-like entity Erionda froze. The rain was coming harder, the area seemed to cackle with the energy that made her shudder under it. Whatever it was she wasn't liking it.
Flames engulfed the fourth brown worm it's squeals echoed across the sand. Her eyes flicked from one hybrid to the next. They all seemed to be focused skyward, "What?" Erionda finally asked.
"You're an Aiskala right?" The Firani asked in a rushed tone.
Erionda gave the Firani a quick nod.
"Great, We've been having some problems with these creatures."
"Cerlian"
"Yeah them. Problem is they are made of storm and only appear durring the winter season."
"Which obviously... this is."
Erionda rolled her eyes at that. Winter here was like a hot humid day. Nothing could compare to the cold of Aisko, not that she would ever complain about the cold there. She was able to tolerate it quite well.
"Look, we need an Aiskala to trap it. We don't have any problems bringing them down."
"We have a problem gathering them up when we cross the pond from Soudul. Durring the winter."
Why didn't they just stay put then? Erionda thought as she turned her eyes towards the sky again. She could have sworn she saw a snake in the sky. That wasn't right. Was it?
A clash of thunder in the sand to their right was more than enough to make the powerful Expert to jump.
"Just trap that thing in ice or something. It's what destroyed our caravan. Though the Urshund gave us a heavy hit too."
"At least we are alive Eh?"
"Yeah can't be mad about that."
The more Erionda listened to the two carry on the more she wondered if they were twins. Struggling to call up her magic yet again Erionda tried to sense were the creature was. It was hard, it seemed to be like it was in two places at once. "That's a lot harder than you think. Is it just me and there are two or is this one just moving fast and mimicking two different spots?"
She watched as the brothers gave each other a fearful look both moving to power up their magic.
"Nope there are two of them." This time they spoke in unison.
Erionda swallowed hard once again trying to focus her magic on the two distinct energy sources. The rain that had appeared with the storm was of great help to her when creating her cage to trap the strange creatures she had never met before.
The drain on her power and energy made her mouth feel dry in the rain. Licking her lips Erionda felt the last pull of her magic as the first Cerlian came crashing to the ground it was a strange serpentine creature of origins Erionda couldn't put her mind on. It mesmerized her in a fashions she hadn't seen before. And she wanted one of them!
"Great now step back."
Erionda pushed her eyebrows together. "Why!?" She demanded.
"Because these things are strange. There's a reason my brother and I attract them." The firani explained.
Gapping at the Firani that spoke Erionda couldn't help the sudden lack of ability to respond. "What do you mean by that!? if you think it's beca-"
"They only die by the combination of Earth and fire magic." The Gaili interrupted giving a sideways glance towards Erionda.
Slightly taken back Erionda watched as the first Cerlian was disposed of. A strange stone left glittering it it's wake. Shaking her head she moved to focus on bringing down and caging the final monster. Once it too was disposed off Erionda took a step back when the Firani approached her.
"Here." He extended his hands out to Erionda and produced two strange stones they deposited in her hands. "We already have a few of these. We have a nasty luck when luring in those creatures... It's not often we run into an Aiskala who can help. Since you guys are one of the few able to contain them for long."
The other brother nodded and turned skyward with a hiss.

A third one!? That's unexpected. Lanzecki muttered across the bond as he approached Erionda to sniff at the stones. Pulling back with disdain. There's Kiandri magic in those.
Calling Uassae to her Erionda gave the stones to her older Khehora. Turning towards the skies once again. How common were these things really.
"We've been followed for years by the first two. But this is a new one." The Gaili said as he turned to look at Rio. "You can have the stone from this one too. We have no more intention of crossing the waters again for any reason. These are just another reason why we wont cross them."
Erionda nodded as the cycle was repeated. And a third stone tucked away against her Aiskiian hastars packs.
