The idea of patrolling just to do it and collect energy seemed so... Foreign to Leto. In fact, she couldn't remember the last time she went out alone. It seemed that every time she actually powered up - which for some reason didn't feel nearly often enough anymore - she either had Al-Janah in tow to look for a fight, or the quirky guardian Absinthe would join her to walk through the city. Beyond that, Leto also realized that she hadn't seen a ton of her older members in what seemed like ages. Requiem had left the city, as far as Leto knew, and the others fell off of her radar somehow. Apparently patrolling on your own meant that you had plenty of time to think and come to realizations such as this.

With her three Wraiths in tow following behind her and zapping civilians of energy as they went, she casually walked as if she was a regular person on a late-night stroll.

It wasn't until she sensed the familiar tingle of a Dark Mirror Senshi nearby that she snapped out of the strange daze that she was in. Moving in the Senshi's direction, a smile appeared on Leto's face as she approached the Senshi of Moths. Who was... Just sort of sitting there? With a tilt of her head, she slipped up behind the other girl and gave her a poke on her shoulder.

"Hey stranger."

Okay, so maybe Leto had expected a more sincere, warmer welcome. Did she do something to upset the other girl? Her mind raced, trying to think over the time that they hadn't seen each other to see if there was something she had done. She chewed her bottom lip, her brows furrowed slightly. Nope, nothing she could think of! Maybe she was over-thinking things.

"Mhm," she said with a nod as she fished her mirrorshards out of her bracer so she could recall the Wraiths that would be un-needed if she planned to stay and chat- which she did, of course. Because Leto couldn't take a hint when her presence was unwanted. Why would her amazing presence ever be unwanted?

As she put her shards away, she waltzed on over to the other side of Lesath and flashed her a wide grin, hands on her hips and legs crossed at her ankles. "How've you been? Whatchya up to? Just... Hanging out on a bench in the cold by yourself? How's life, what's new?"

Mmmm, word-vomit.

When Leto sat next to Lesath, she kicked her legs back and forth as she spoke. "Well that's good! You know, I don't know what you're studying! Are you at DCU? Do you like it? I've thought about college, I just never really got around to it... Ah well! What can ya do, right?"

Onto another topic.

Her fingertips tapped along her knees as she thought about what to say next... Girl talk really wasn't something that she excelled in in the least bit. What to say, what to say....

"So uhm........." She trailed off for a moment. OH! Boys! That was always easy, right? Hopefully. "Are you still dating Remarque?" She asked with a smile. She may not care for him much, but if it would get Lesath to warm up to her then she'd attempt that route. "Him and I don't do personal talk," she laughed. "Well really we don't do a whole lot of talking at all!"

Little did she know that the girl next to her thought of her as a disgusting little slimy pus worm. Welp.

She came about a millisecond away from going back to the topic of school when Lesath went ******** crazy. You just... Wait.. What?

Leto's mouth fell open as she sat in silence while Lesath went on her rant.

She just sort of stared up at the other girl in a very very long moment of silence when she finally finished speaking, completely unsure of how to proceed from that point.

"Lesath I would never!" She shook her head while she tried to process what exactly the ******** just happened. "No no no, oh my god, no. First of all, I can't stand Remarque. Second of all, he is not at all my type. Thirdly, I'm very exclusively with Veer. Do you seriously think I'd ******** your boyfriend? We don't have private escapades, we went to MirrorSpace without anyone else because we didn't want to risk anyone else's lives. I would die before I let anything happen to the rest of you."

Her own temper boiling at the accusations that were just thrown at her from someone she once considered a friend, Leto had to take a deep breath and look away from her. Pushing herself to her feet, she stared Lesath in the eyes, her own narrowed.

"Ares is the only reason you're alive. Get the ******** off your high horse and listen to yourself. Since when are you anything like a sheep? I've never given you any orders and if Remarque has, tell him to go ******** himself. We're not the Negaverse. We're not a military organization, we're not the Court that Ares lead in the White Moon. Whether you want to believe it or not, Lesath, we're family and I care about you and you're being ******** stupid. Whatever issue you have with your idiot boyfriend is between the two of you, and has nothing to do with me, Ares, or the rest of the Court. And I wish beyond all else that you came to me if you were having issues! If something is going on and you're unhappy, did you ever think that maybe I could help?"

Crossing her arms over her chest, she finally stopped and allowed herself to take a second to chill out.

"Why wouldn't you want to be a part of a group like this? I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to be a part of something knowing that the people you're in it with would have your back through anything. The White Moon doesn't have that. Even the Negaverse doesn't have it- all they care about is their rank and taking orders from Metallia. We're more than that."

What Lesath had said, however, was a giant slap in the face to Leto. The worst part was that she was right- she preached about family but she herself hadn't been around, and she didn't know anything about the people she considered family anymore.

She flinched and took a step back from her, her hardened expression softening, almost sad.

"No one forces you to power up... But I'm sorry. I really, truly am sorry. I'm sorry that you seem to hate my guts and I'm sorry that I don't get it. But if I don't get it, you need to help me to understand because I have no idea why exactly you're so angry. I just don't understand what's changed. You used to be happy, you used to fight for the Court and I've seen you try and bring people over to our side because you believed in it. I'm sorry if I did something to change that, and if it wasn't me directly then I'm sorry that I didn't work harder to make sure that nothing else did that."

If this was a fist fight, Leto would know exactly what to do. But this was different and it made her feel lost and vulnerable and ******** awful.

"Maybe there is no point," Leto admitted. "At the end of the day, we all power up and do this for different reasons. I do it because I believe in Ares and what she wants for us. Others do it to protect the ones they love. Some people just like having super powers and fighting people. You just have to figure out what your reason is. And if it's not worth it, then don't do it anymore, y'know? I'm not gonna show up in your mirror in raging Princess mode and kill you if you stopped. And maybe you're right, maybe we would be better without all of this, but apparently destiny or whatever the ******** creates Senshi had a different idea."

She shrugged her shoulders slightly and took a look around herself, mentally reaching out as far as she could to feel out other power signatures. When she was sure it was safe to do so, she powered down into plain ol' Quinn in jeans and an old shitty hoodie.

"If you're tired of being Lesath, then be Raven. It's okay to be Raven."

Quinn was trying to reach out to her as best as she could. Offering a small smile, she shook her head. "The Court didn't take Jett away from you... He's a grown man, he made that choice. I know we're supposed to be out here saving the world or whatever the ******** it is that we're doing, but that doesn't mean we have to stop living or that life and love and all that other stuff is less important. The Court doesn't have to be more important. It's really important to me but it's not the only thing that exists. For Ares, it is. Fallon doesn't exist anymore for her. It's a different balance for every one of us."

Quinn opened her mouth to speak, to answer Lesath's questions about Ares' motivations as best as she possibly could. Instead, Lesath turned and literally ran away from her and into a mirror. She stared after her for a moment, debating powering back up and mirrorwalking to find her, but what was the point?

Lesath seemed so... Broken. Was there any way to come back from that?

Lowering herself slowly back onto the bench, Quinn's head rested in her hand with her elbow on her knee. Her expression was sort of blank as she stared at the ground, finally getting a chance to really think about the conversation that just transpired.

She failed her. She failed Lesath and for all she knew she was failing the rest of the Court as well. Pulling both legs up so she was sitting cross-legged on the bench, she pulled her henshin pen out and stared at it in the palms of her hands, finger delicately running over it's surface, tracing her symbol. And there she sat, alone and in the cold for hours and hours. Thinking in complete silence.
