Asch stormed by the lake in flabbergasted frustration, "Honestly the NERVE of that.... that...." He snorts and flips his mane out of his eyes and rests by the water's edge, "Kinda figures though.... the only one really interesting in me is a psudo-vampiric insectoid shapshifter..."

From the bustling, busy streets of Manehatten slums, to the peaceful blue skies of Ponyville, complete with birds chirping in his ear and keeping him awake at bucking three in the morning.
Suffice to say, it had taken some getting used to.
But he liked to think he had mastered the transition by now, and Inkbrand, self-proclaimed Tattoo Artist Extraordinaire and Best Damn Night of Your life, swaggered around the lakebed with an obvious bounce in his jaunty walk. The tune of a raunchy love song slipped out of his lips in a whistle, tail swinging idly side to side as he made his way around. For all intents and purposes, the stallion looked like the average, well-to-do resident having a nice stroll along the lakeside.
At least from a distance.
Up close, and it became very obvious that Inkbrand was anything but normal in Ponyville.
Oh, things had been tough for sure, at first. Ponyville seemed to simply breed good-will and tidings, and his tattoo-clad body, piercings, and general roughish appearance had not entitled Inkbrand to the love of the locals right off the bat. More often than not, he often faced down glares from older stallions, while mares turned their fillies away from him with a disapproving sniff of their nose. Even now, after having lived in Ponyville for about a year, Inkbrand still felt marked in a strange way. As if there were an invisible brand - ha! - that distinguished him from the rest, and not necessarily in a positive way.
But in his mind's eye, that was a-okay by him.
"Not like I want to be considered the same as these sticks in the mud," Inkbrand commented to nopony in particular, especially seeing how there wasn't anyone nearby anyways.
It hadn't been all bad, however, once his business had gotten out of the gutter. Damn Ponyville ponies were all so skittish, it had taken nearly two months of aggressive advertising and demonstration to get even the first few customers. Though, his business had only been one aspect of his move, and Inkbrand felt an almost nostalgic smile crossing his face as he thought of Radiant Star, aspiring model and friend. Their relationship had started off rocky, at best, but somehow they'd manage to click together. Not the sort of pony he'd take out to get salted up with, but hanging out with that beautiful mare? No, sweat.
The thought of his friend put a damper on Inkbrand's normally high spirits, causing his pace to falter and his hooves to trudge on the ground a bit. He hoped she was doing well in Canterlot, having finally broken into the modeling business. Really, he wished the best for her.
But…well buck, would it be too much to ask for a bucking letter?
"Tch. Can't remember the last time I pined over a mare in any sense," Inkbrand muttered to himself, spitting onto the ground out of want to appease his annoyance in some fashion. A meager offering, but it would have to do for now.
Meeting somepony new, too, was also good. Good for a distraction, fun…at least on his own part.
"Well, hello there, pretty ma - er, pretty boy? Er…what?"
Inkbrand couldn't help raising an eyebrow as he came around one side of the lake to discover a very dark pony sitting by the edge of the water, looking like thunder. Or whatever metaphor Pegasi used to describe being angry. With the body being fairly slim, Inkbrand's first intuition was to figuratively slick back his hair and make a move on the pretty pony, but the facial structure and voice made him think stallion rather than mare. It was obvious that the pony was in no mood for casual conversation, angrily muttering to himself, and only an idiot would go up to an obviously irate stranger for idle conversation.
"Hey, don't knock it 'til you try it," he said as he unceremoniously plopped down right next to the black and blue pony, as if they were two good friends who often complained about their lives on the side of the lake bed. "Pain can be pleasurable if it's done right - a vampire bite sounds kinda fun, if you ask me." Inkbrand could only assume the dark pony was bemoaning a Changeling - unless he meant some sort of actual, insect bug creature, which really didn't bare thinking about in any sort of sexual setting. It made the tattoo-clad stallion pause for a moment, wondering if there was indeed a Changeling wandering around Ponyville.
Well, whatever. So long as they didn't show that freaky, true form of theirs to him, Inkbrand was just fine and dandy. And the less time he spent contemplating the issue, the more time he could not-so-subtly run his eyes over the body next to his, again trying to figure out whether he was sitting next to a mare or not. If he had to think about the issue, then it was almost certain that he wouldn't be attempting to hit that, anyways - he liked them smoking hot, as it were.
But…for future reference. Maybe.
"So, what's her name," Inkbrand said slyly, again with the casualness and familiarity one would expect from two close friends instead of veritable strangers. "Come on come on, tell 'ol Ink all about it, baby."

Asch looks at the colorfully marked stallion and blushes slightly, "Oh... you heard all that huh?" He rubs the back of his head, "Yeah... I was looking for a little something more.... Uhm... Real... ya know? Not some one night stand that ends up with me being used like somepony's snack cake...." He sighs, "Oh and the name is Asch, nice to meet ya Inkbrand..." He tucks his wings a little, feeling a little violated by the Changling and wondering if he should say something about her to the authorities... "But I suppose that is the nature of what they are... Not like they can help it... Just wish there was another way for them."

Inkbrand couldn't stop the rise of one eyebrow as his golden eye, the one not covered up by his bandana, drilled into the eyes of the other. He had to say, he was pleasantly surprised that he'd apparently made enough of an impression in Ponyville for the now confirmed stallion - Asch, that was his name. Surely a shortened version of his full name? - to know his own, full name of Inkbrand. Though, he supposed he shouldn't be too surprised to know that he stuck out in a place like Ponyville. How many tattoo covered, roguishly handsome stallion could be meandering around the place anyways?
Asch solved two mysteries in one go, and Inkbrand mentally confirmed that yes, there must be a Changling running around Ponyville. One night stand with a pony snack of love? What the buck else could it be? It did draw Inkbrand back into his memories, however, remembering a string of recent one-night stands he'd had. The mares in question had all been smoking hot, completely eager - and he'd never seen any of them after their one night of hot Inkbrand action.
Oh, bucking buck. Inkbrand couldn't suppress a little shiver as he briefly imagined himself in a similar situation, but with a Changeling that wasn't disguised. Buck no, thank you.
"Yeah well, long as they don't change during the middle, s'fine by me," Inkbrand groused, voice just a little sour now that he'd realized he might have inadvertently been sleeping around with a Changling for quite some time now. Well. As long as the disguises were bitching, Inkbrand supposed he couldn't really complain. After all, there were plenty worse things he could complain about than a wonderful, no-strings-attatched night with a beautiful mare.
Oooh yes. Inkbrand couldn't complain about that at all.
But thoughts of hot mares in compromising positions had to wait, scandalous as that sounded, and Inkbrand ran a contemplative eye over the body sitting next to his. Asch sounded so…despondent, it was a little sickening. Maybe the Changeling had done more with him, promising romance and a happily ever after? Inkbrand almost let out a laugh at the thought - usually it was the big bad stallion seducing the innocent little mare with tales of riding off into the sunset together! - but he held it in, long enough to formulate some sort of plan. Asch might have looked like a stallion from Manehatten's underbelly, piercings and all, but he sure didn't act like it, meaning that Inkbrand had no idea what sort of partier the Pegasus was.
Meaning, Inkbrand had no idea if he was worth hanging out with.
That would need to be remedied.
"Oh, you're into that happily ever after stuff, huh," Inkbrand said sagely, pushing himself forward to wrap an almost companionable foreleg around the Pegasus' shoulder. "Six foals, white picket fence? Tch." The sneer in his tone probably made his opinion about settling down crystal clear to the other. Maybe, once upon a time…but that option was long gone to Inkbrand, and he instead refocused on the other stallion, giving his shoulder a little shake. "Well buck, you're not going to get it moping around here. What you need is a good hard salting."
…Where could they get a good hard salting in Ponyville? Probably nowhere. Though, a quick road trip might…
"Your buddy Inkbrand knows the perfect place too," he continued, now standing and attempting to bodily get the Pegasus to stand with him. "Quick road trip to Manehatten! We can crash for the night at my buddy's place afterwards, he won't mind." No, Bass Blitz would only cuss him out for a while, which would inevitably lead to a wrestling match to decide which stallion was the biggest wuss. Inkbrand gave the Pegasus another tug, but refrained from simply bodily picking up the other and throwing him over his back. One, because the other was a Pegasus that could simply float off him like a bucking balloon in the breeze.
And two, he was trying for civility. Asch was a relative stranger after all. And Inkbrand was bored.

He had let it slip that he was a fan of Inkbreand's work by knowing his full name, but the truth of the matter was before his parents passed he had wholeheartedly wanted to get a tattoo done by him. He can't hold back the laugh when he describes the whole 'happy family' scene, "Oh no no no no no... THAT is not for me... I want something real, granted, but I never said my life would be all calm and sweet, now did I?" He chuckles almost suggestively, the old Asch coming back to the surface for the first time in a long while, "I'm just kinda getting tired of being lonely, and well... I would like my first to be my only..." He listens to the other stallions personal to get out of Ponyville and his eyes widen, "Really? Well I have wanted to travel... maybe while I'm out and about I could find my muse..."

Well, buck him sideways, that was a surprise. A slightly mocking smile tilted Inkbrand's lips into a crooked lilt, but it wasn't enough to mask the genuine intrigue he was feeling as he listened to the other stallion.
For sure, he'd been certain that he would have a moping, depressed, and otherwise downbeat Pegasus bawling onto his shoulder as the salt cubes started taking effect, cursing mares everywhere and swearing to never love again, or some other s**t. This sudden and almost subtle shift was downright curious, but Inkbrand wasn't about to complain. Hay, if Asch wanted to downplay the sadness and skip over the dramatic tears and wailing, that was a-okay with him.
In fact, Inkbrand wasn't sure what he would have done, had the Pegasus broken down during the night. A real stallion only ever cried three times in his life, after all.
'We'll have to fix that,' Inkbrand thought to himself with a mental eye roll, as the Pegasus explained exactly what it was he was looking for. "Happily Ever After" and "First and Only" sounded sure as hay the same damn thing to Inkbrand, but hey, he wasn't here to judge. At least, not while he was still bored and looking for a companion to get salted up with. Outside of a situation similar to this, and one involving a pretty mare potentially putting out, then hay yes, Inkbrand would be judging to Tartarus and back.
Not like every other pony wasn't doing the same to him, and Inkbrand would never let anypony else convince him otherwise.
And it really was a shame, Inkbrand thought, running another critical and slightly lewd eye over the other. Asch really would have made a pretty nice mare, and their interactions would undoubtedly be going in a completely opposite direction if he had been. As it was, Asch had the potential to become a pretty good salting buddy, if his sudden shift in attitude was any indication, and Inkbrand had never been a stallion to overlook an opportunity.
Many mares had told him he was manipulative. Inkbrand liked to think of it as…opportunistic.
"Well, let's get a move on then," the tattoo-clad stallion crowed, tail swishing about aggressively as he turned to start trotting away from the lake, calling out over his shoulder to the other. 'Those pretty little fillies aren't going to dance up themselves, 'ya know!'

Name: Light fire occupation: none, currently in school ((out of Character smile ) light fire just stood there pupils small and ears flat. "never... again..." she simply said, her mane all ruffled and a look of pure terror on her face. she never thought about flying, but now she knew she had a fear of heights after that event. suddenly she ran behind a tree, were she tried her best not to puke. after about 3 minutes behind the tree, light trotted out, her face still slightly green. "NEVER SPEAK OF THIS!" she said glaring at Ronoh as she began to put on her ice skates. she then wobbly walked over to the ice and began to skate. she also began to make illusions of evil looking snowponys on the ice that flickered in and out of existence as she struggled to keep them there. she had a long way before she could do this with out effort but wasn't doing half bad for her age. "Okay...ready." she said wincing as she tried to hold the illusions. Wasibru remember you can jump in at any time biggrin
