From a few seats down, Danika Teresi was attempting to focus. Really, really she was. But her cell phone was much more interesting, pinging off silent texts to certain people. She still managed to jot down the necessary notes and vaguely listening to the professor's droning. Classes where she couldn't be doing something hands-on were always her downfall. She always found something more engaging to set her mind to. In this case, communicating with the outside world.

All torture had to end eventually though, and soon enough she was amongst those letting out happy gusts of air when they could pack up. Time to leave. Time to go home. Well. Maybe. It was sorta late, but Danika hosted the prospect of powering up nonetheless when she got back to her apartment and duck out for a run.

Her thoughts were interrupted though, spotting a mop of brunet ahead of her. For a second she passed it off, figuring one of the few she knew in the class had already skipped out. But drawing closer... nope~! "Baby Bat!" The free hand not keeping her messenger bag strung over her shoulder was clasped onto Terry's shoulder, chirping out the nickname she'd oh so creatively come up with soon after first hearing his name. She'd debated calling him Beyond, or NeoBat, but neither really... fit. So Baby Bat was deemed appropriate. Her heels clicked against the tiles as she slipped from the room, joining him in the easy stroll from the class into the hall. Easy in and out of the building from there at least, into the still nippy night.

"So um... did you catch what the homework was?" She ignored her buzzing phone from in her jacket pocket, putting on her brightest smile in an attempt to not let on she'd been otherwise occupied when the professor was going over that tidbit.

Cas had ditched his last class that day for some much needed time to unwind and get an early start on the evening. He had been incresingly unfocused and only sat there to torment himself, thinking about how many hours stood between him and patrol these days so he decided relief could come early for once. But somehow that had all gone awry.

A small incident had escalated into a heated encounter, which had then escalated to something more physical. He couldn't even really remember what the altercation was about, but he remembered after powering up that he would love to have that starseed in his quota, which was already near completion by the time the early evening started.

That didn't change the fact he was hunting one specific a*****e from earlier, and when he caught sight of a face that at the very least vaguely resembled him, he lunged.

And skid right into the immediate walking path of two students exiting a building on campus.

The negaverse captain spared them a brief glance, but he had a serious case of tunnel vision and kept moving, his weighted staff already drawn with the intention to strike once he was in close enough distance to engineer a collision.

"Important things? What is more important then your academic standing?" Terry asked with a curious look. He wasn't worried it would be something bad or dangerous since it was likely she would be reacting differently. His smile grew a bit more when she complemented him and he let out a chuckle. "Yes well, you shouldn't rely on others to know this kind of stuff to often. After all what if I end up missing a day?"

He came to a quick stop when the person ran in front of them. He blinked in surprise but wasn't fazed at first since seeing people run around on campus was rather normal and the costume could be explained away for being in a theater class or club. At least until Danika started to say there was a terrorist. He felt a shiver go down his spine before looking at her and opening his mouth to ask her how she knew there was a terrorist only for her to shove her bag at him and take off after the guy. "Dani!" He called after her in slight panic.

He stood there for a moment holding her bag, stunned at her reaction and inadvertently giving her a head start, before his shook out of it and started to run after his friend. What if she got hurt? He could call the cops as soon as he caught up to her and made sure she wasn't going to jump in over her head. His plans derailed a bit when he finally caught up only to not find Danika and the terrorist but someone in costume and the terrorist. Where did Dani go and how did he miss her?

If it ran like a creep, hunted like a creep...

That he only responded to her challenge brought a cocky smirk on. So he had heard her. Awesome. She barely glanced down to his weapon--a real one, go figure--trying to keep up the show and keeping her eyes on his. Didn't mean she hadn't recognized the shape of a staff, and registered in her brain how much a hit from that would probably hurt. Maybe she'd catch a break and he wouldn't know s**t about how to swing a staff right.

Her body tensed, though she tried to limit her movements to a slight step back, feet angled in ways to give herself better balance. Bracing for an impact. She was trying to behave. Let him hit first. She was trying--

The Negabrat gave her an easy reason to be distracted, glancing over her shoulder quickly. And cussing under her breath. Terry! Mentally, she was screaming. At him. Wishing he'd get the hell away. Wishing he'd call the cops. To the black and neon man she smirked, a wicked looking expression under the lamplight. "If he's not smart enough to haul his a** away from freaks in costumes, not sure what else I can do. 'Cept take you out." She said her threat loud enough for Terry to hear. Danika knew it was a bluff. If the agent went after her classmate she'd try to intervene before he got hurt. Supposed she should be lucky. She still didn't sense youma in the area. Still didn't explain what the agent was doing here...

Zippeite glanced to Themi and his eyes narrowed a bit, trying to calculate how likely it was she was bluffing.

She had no one hanging over her head, ready to punish her if she let this civilian die. It was likely she had no attachment to him otherwise. He didn't seem to recognize her and was only looking on as a curious bystander.

He decided to call her bluff. Reaffirming his grip on the staff, he charge, but in a curved line that made it clear he was going to try to move past the knight and go for the civilian.

Whether she was bluffing or not, taking his starseed would get him out of the way and give Zippeite a huge energy boost.

Terry felt a shiver of fear when one of the costumed people started to run, aiming towards him. He took a few rapid steps back but then stopped again when the costumed woman started to run at the guy. That something that was telling him it was wrong to run was still there but he bit his lip and decided to at least retreat back a bit so he wasn't in the way.

He turned tail and ran for the nearest bit of cover, in this case it happened to be a tree, all the while telling himself that it wasn't running away.
