He hated this--hated himself, hated all of it and sometimes it was enough to want to just be...done. Done with this life of lies, done with this self-loathing and crippled self-esteem, done with opening his eyes each morning for another day of the same old s**t. Depression clung to his heart like a virus, spreading through him with every beat of his heart, and Gimpi was just...so tired. He wanted to crawl into bed and wrap up in blankets and go to sleep. He wanted to sleep for the rest of his life. Life. Hah. If that's what you could call it. He was living an anti-social life and everyone knew it. Velocity had tried again and again to speak with him, but he'd shut them all out. He didn't need peppy and happy... He just wasn't sure what he needed. And he was quickly running out of romance novels to read. The only happily-ever-afters he'd ever get. The truth was, he was afraid, a being ruled by fear and insecurity. He wanted, so badly, to love and be loved...but the idea of coming out of the closet--his shelter, the only place that accepted him--terrified him. He tried again and again with girls, but he was horrible at faking it. And he was a terrible flirt. All these things added up fast and that was how the little chimera ended up sitting in the corner of the bar, drinking vile blue drinks remniscent of antifreeze. Maybe, if he was drunk enough, he could find his way out of the hole that he'd dug. Maybe.

 She'd been gone quite a long time now, forever it seemed but she just got so caught up in wandering and teaching her son things that Klementine had gotten so turned around out in the wilderness that she ended up wandering back into town, and while she'd sent her son to find his father, she was wandering around getting more acquainted with the little area again. And the ditzy female had forgotten she needed to go do something, she really had forgotten that she needed to put her family on top at this point, her only thought was that she was bored with the same old thing, and well maybe she was scared to be a mom. Maybe that's what she ran from, taking her son anyways, like that was a smart idea. Or maybe her subconscious NEED to make everyone happy lead her to look for those who were depressed. She walked into the little bar and looked around, it seemed everyone was drinking and having a good time except this one very sad looking male in the corner, Oh no, this wasn't happening. She had to change it, just had to, So the tiny female flicked her hair back and headed over towards him, trying to be slightly quiet in this environment was impossible and it was more so impossible for Klem herself. She cleared her throat and decided to speak. "Hi, You look lonely, Could I join you?"

The halfbreed male looked up from his drink at the soft voice, though his ears were already buffeted by the chatter in the smoky bar and he wanted to go home, but home didn't sound like a good idea. He didn't need to be alone with these thoughts. And when he looked up and saw her--a pretty thing, but...she was so familiar--he nodded and motioned to the seat opposite him, tucking his talon-clawed legs under the booth out of worry that she'd find him a monster, the one person who'd bothered to talk to him for the longest time. And he was thankful for the reprieve from his thoughts. He offered a small, tight smile though loosened by the alcohol already in his system. "Uh, sure. Can I buy you something?" His two-toned eyes flicked to the bartend and back again.

She hadn't expected the male to offer to buy her a drink, she never really expected many people to be able to stand her to long, but she supposed it was the alcohol helping her to be able to stand her what so ever. But his ears seemed to pick up a good bit at the other's presence and that alone was nice. "Oh, Goodness, Yes, I think that would be nice. I'll uh... I'll have what ever it is your having." Because well honestly Klem really wasn't sure what she liked drinking, she drank anything that was put in front of her, It was a bad habit really. She blushed slightly her tinted slightly pink, she knew she'd seen him before but where she couldn't put her finger on and well, that was okay with the little bubble of joy because well she loved making friends, even if they were old friends she forgot. Extending a paw towards him she smiled, "Hi, I'm Klem. It's nice to meet you." even if she already had met him.

Gimpi's ears folded back--she was familiar, why was she so familiar?--but he smiled, taking her paw in his and giving it a small shake. "I'm, uh. They call me Gimpi..." Ugh that dreaded name... He wished he could just go out and change it, go by something completely different, something made up on the spot. It was just so...ugly. "Alright, works for me." He stood, almost too quickly, backing away towards the bar, tail wrapped around himself. A few moments later, he returned with two glasses of a cool blue drink, setting one down in front of her. "Are you from around here, cuz I could've sworn... You're familiar. And pretty." Crap. It was rolling downhill fast. "Sorry, I shouldn't..." He shook his head, looking stricken. "I'm not good with people." A sharp laugh. "Obviously. Sorry."

Oh man, he was tripping over his words and putting himself down and oh no, this was not okay, she pinned her ears at him, " No, Hey... NO, you're fine." The little female began as she watched him and the blue drinks between them. " please, don't be... I don't know nervous, just be you?" She thought that this was the reason that he kept tripping over the things that he had to say. Klem was so sweet and so friendly that she really did love pretty much everyone and he was so sad and so down about himself and she didn't like it. " I just, don't like it when people are sad, Its just the worst." The fox felt like she had to explain as she brought the blue liquid up to her lips and sipped it. Now she had to answer another question for the sad seemingly half breed in front of her. " I was, well I mean I am. I just got busy teaching my son's about nature one day and I got lost and I haven't been home in a long time, but I'm back now and looking for friends, since mine seem to be all gone now." because the ditz hadn't gotten home to see her friends and family yet.

Seeing Klementine's obvious discomfort made him shift, claws on his feet clenching together. "I'm sorry," he said again, then promptly snapped his jaws shut, imagining an invisible wire locking them together. He wanted to lock it and throw away the key and never speak again... "I get...nervous around people." He sipped his drink, thinking of her words--be himself? Hah. He wasn't even sure who he was anymore... How could he be someone he didn't even know? "Alright, I'll try," he promised. Huh, so maybe he HAD seen her around town then. He knew he'd seen her face before--she was pretty. Unique. Colorful--and while that was something Gimpi usually avoided, he liked it on Klem. But his heart sunk when she spoke of her family. Her children. "So...does that mean you have a boyfriend then?" he asked, head tipped to the side as he took another sweet burning swallow of his alcohol. He could definitely feel it kicking in--it calmed him, made him feel liquid, made him feel less...real. He finished his glass and his bi-colored eyes took in the essence that was Klementine. He needed a girl like Klem. Someone to instill in him that he could love whoever he wanted--sexuality be damned. He stuffed down all the thoughts of liking boys down and before she got a chance to speak, he ordered them another round of drinks.
