Nuawahn was enjoying the day and resting on a sun warmed rock, not common in the haze-shrouded lands of Sauti. It was one of the few things he actually missed from his travels - direct sunlight. Usually, he missed nothing from one place to another: each step brought too many new an interesting things to really feel homesick, and he didn't relaly have a home, either. He'd willingly left that behind him when he'd walked away from his family group into the mountains.
But now, as he lay on the rock, he missed the harsh sun of the Tale, or the way that light speared into the darkness of Jahuar. He turned to his sleeping companion and knew that La'amu the capramel held no such thoughts. He smiled and stroked her head. She was at home here.

His rest was done, and he wanted to move on, but he didn't want to wake his Amma yet. She needed her sleep. Instead, he looked out from his perch as far as the Sauti haze would let him, and thought about his next steps.

The haze in Sauti seemed particularly thick on this day, though it could have been her imagination. Today was the day; the day Sinnia had decided to take off on her own adventure. It was so strange to her, so many different emotions were running through her all at once and she couldn't pinpoint one in particular. She brushed the hair out of her eyes and patted her satchel, making sure she was ready to set off. "Alright here it is, the start of my new life! Bergchi guide me." She looked down and saw herself shaking, but she shook it off as excitement rather than nervousness. Sinnia took a deep breath and put one foot in front of the other and began her journey. She never really had any friends or family in her settlement and she had been having odd dreams of a grand adventure that was just out of her reach. Every night she had the same dream over and over again and every morning she would get sad when the realization hit her that she wasn't out making her way in the world. It had been decided...but much to her chagrin it had taken her longer to actually muster up the courage to leave.

She wasn't quite sure how long she had been walking when she realized that she really had no idea where she was going. The haze seemed so dense and for the first time in her life it almost felt suffocating to her; or was that just the impending sense of fear creeping up on her? Baby blue eyes darted back and forth, trying to judge which way would be the best course to take, but she had absolutely no idea what she was doing. A little ways in the distance she swore she saw something out of the ordinary, she had no idea what it was, but it didn't look like a normal rock. No, rocks never looked so...lumpy? Whatever it was she figured it wouldn't hurt to start her adventure there.

As she got closer to the strange rock she noticed that it wasn't just a rock at all. Sinnia paused for a moment to stick her face in her hands, feeling slightly guilty for using the word lumpy when in fact it was actually another person. At least they didn't know she had called them lumpy in her head, or else she would never be able to look them in the eyes. Sinnia regained herself and started back towards this mystery person, walking slightly quicker than she had been a moment ago. Light and quick movements got her closer and closer and in no time at all she was almost directly behind them. A wave of relief hit her as she saw him, another earthling from a wind tribe! Quietly, she crouched down behind him, noticing the tiny capramel sleeping she spoke in something of a whisper. "She looks exhausted...how far have you come?"

It never occurred to her that maybe she should have made her presence known to the male before speaking. Oh well, she'd learn the ways of the world soon enough.

Nuawahn hadn't noticed Sinnia's approach and he jumped a little, startled, at her greeting. And then he saw that it was not a threat, but an Earthling. But of course it was no threat - it was simply more adventure waiting to happen. He gave the ancient Capramel's head a soft stroke to sooth her slightly wakened nerves before he turned to Sinnia, a huge and friendly grin on his face, definitely an accustomed expression on such a face.

"Well that depends!" he whispered back, somewhat conspirationally, "From the last place that Amma had a good sleep? From my last campsite? Or from all the way in Jahaur?" his eyes, already striking in the colors that shimmered just beyond their blue, sparkled with a deep and playful mischief.
"Because we've been a long way, and yet not long at all!" he giggled cheerfully, before toning down his voice so as not to wake his capramel. He wasn't sure he understood what he had said, but, being in a playful mood, he couldn't help but tease the nice wind girl.

Sinnia winced slightly as she saw the man jump, startling him was the last thing she meant to do and she whispered an apology under her breath. She watched the sleeping animal, it was always so soothing to her to watch the gentle rise and fall of a sleeping animals body. The way he comforted her was so sweet and it made her slightly jealous that she didn't have any kind of pet of her own. Well, maybe now that she was about to venture out she could actually find something to call a companion!

As the wind boy whispered to her she listened intently, jaw slightly dropping when he spoke. It seemed like he had been all over the place and yet she had never left the safety of her village. "D-Do you travel a lot?" She spoke louder than she had meant to, but this was exciting for her. "What made you want to leave your home? Have you been traveling for a long time? Do you ever miss where you're from?" She gasped lightly, not really expecting to blurt out all the questions that were swimming through her mind.

Sinnia crawled up on the rock beside the boy, grinning for ear to ear. "I'm Sinnia! Who are you, Mr. Traveler?" She wanted to hear his stories, to know his adventures...she wanted to know what was in store for her out there in the world.

Nuawahn patted a spot next to him on the rock, grinning. "Yup! I travel a lot! Everywhere! Staying in one place is fine for a little bit" he shrugged, "But I gotta keep moving."

This girl had a lot of questions, and Nuawahn was happy to answer a few. "Hmmm... Home? Home is where my Amma is." he said quietly, looking at his Capramel lovingly, "And she's always with me, so..." he gave Sinnia a good natured look, "So, I'm always home! No matter where I am."

Nuawahn took out one of the last of his bean buns and offered it to her. "You have a lot of questions, Sinnia, and its a lot of work to ask questions!" he said, hushed yet cheerful, "I'm Nuawahn. I've always been travelling! Sometimes I miss Sauti, though, but I don't now!" he laughed, "Because I'm here. Sometimes I miss sunlight, so I go elsewhere. I go where I go, and theres always something new!" He took out a bean bun for himself - Amma would be a while, so he might as well eat. "What about you?"

She stood there, mouth agape and eyes twinkling. She had never left her home and she had never known any one that traveled. She understood completely about staying in one place for a little and then moving on, it had only taken her this long to gather the courage to leave home...but she knew it was time because she just couldn't stand not doing anything with her life, not being able to get out there and see the world--to see and meet new people! Sinnia glanced down at the sleeping animal, slightly jealous of their strong bond. "Have you had her for your entire life?" She smiled gently as thoughts of having her own little companion danced through her head.

He had patted the ground next to him and she ungracefully plopped down next to him. Sinnia gratefully took the food that was offered to her and was about to take a bite when she heard him say she had a lot of questions. Her cheeks flushed with a light pink tint, she hadn't meant to ask so many questions. She was just so curious about the world she hadn't seen yet. She took a tiny bite of the bean bun that was in her hand, it was delicious and of course it just made her want to ask more questions. Had he made this? Did he buy them in a far away town? If so what were the people like? What about the flora and the terrain? So much to ask, but she wasn't going to.

She had been entirely lost in thought when she heard him ask her a question. "W-Well you see..." She spaced out for a minute, how could she possibly say anything to him? He had been so many places and seen so many things and she had just been cooped up doing house work and cooking for the elderly in her town. "Well I've never been anywhere outside of my little town, but I was just on my way to start my own journey! Then I found you and here I am!" She finished the bean bun and looked back at Nuawahn. "I want to travel the world...I want to meet new people, make new friends. I want to see the things you have seen, Nuawahn. Do you think I'll be able to?" Everyone had always told her it was a dumb idea for a girl like her to go out on her own, just once it would be nice to hear someone say she could do it.

"Mmmhmm! She's older than me, you know" he whispered conspirationally, winking, "That means shes really old!" He smiled good naturedly, "She's like my Grandma, he looked affectionately at the capramel, "Grandma Amma."

He was happy she liked the bean bun. Nuawahn felt good when people liked what he liked, and when he could share it with them. He was about to ask her about the bun when she answered his question.

He gave her a sunny smile. "Sure you can!" he said, full of confidence, "You can do anything you put your mind to!" he tapped his fluffy, curly head. He saw no reason why anybody couldn't travel. Honestly, he didnt know why people stayed in one place, but some people liked it and that was okay. They weren't him, and he wasn't them. What people wanted to do, what people put their minds to, they usually ended up doing. That was just how it worked.
