Ｔｈｅ Ｓｃｅｎｅ...
ℜecently, the members of the 9th Division faced a particularly brutal attack in the human world; almost all of the officers were hurt when they wandered right into a hollow attack. The injured were ordered immediately back to Soul Society for healing. Though their physical injuries have healed, the medics of the fourth division have forced the formerly injured of the 9th Division to stay an extra night before they are redeployed to the human world.
The problem: even when not confined to the fourth division hospital, the members of the ninth division find themselves exceedingly bored with Soul Society. With the added factor of their restricted location, the officers of the ninth division find themselves with nothing interesting to do.
They decide to play a game.

It was getting late, but not nearly late enough. It was maybe six o'clock in the evening, and since the fourth division came by with their dinner about a half an hour ago, the room holding the ninth division had been very quiet. Within, Rook and his squad half-dozed and stared at the wall, trying desperately to satisfy their boredom. Rook picked at his fingernails, pulling nonexistent specks of dirt from underneath. For the sake of keeping them safe, the fourth division had removed their weapons until they were released the next day, otherwise Rook would be cleaning his blade right now. Slowly, his eyes began to wander around the room, looking at what each and every other member was doing. A few of the other Shinigami were sound asleep, whereas others looked just as bored as Rook. In the silence, Rook listened to the bustle of feet against the floor. It seemed as though the fourth division was always in a hurry to heal someone, which unfortunately left those confined to the hospital exceedingly bored. In this case, the fairly healthy ninth division was about near bored enough to jump out the nearby window.
Looking around, Rook noticed his Vice-Captain looking fairly bored as well. "Oi, Ari." he called his Vice-Captain by name, too bored to come up with a clever nickname to call him. "Your pretty good at cards, right? Do you have a deck?" It was a shot in the dark, but Rook still hoped that Ari might have something to keep them occupied. A few other squad members looked interested now, as this was a chance for them to escape the oppressive boredom. Waiting for a response, Rook carefully eyed the green-haired, short Shinigami hopefully. After all, it happened that this was the difference between a painful night, and a mildly interesting night before the ninth division returned to the human world to continue their patrols.

Ari looked at the captain in disbelief, both because he called him by name for once, and because he seemed to have forgotten that Ari always had a deck of cards with him. It was a habit he picked up in his days of being a con artist. It was very easy to trick people into gambling. At that moment, he had been staring at it, trying to decide whether attempting to build a house of cards or playing solitaire would be more fun. "Cards? Well this should be interesting." he thought. Ari tossed his deck across the room at Rook. He then got up from his spot against the wall and knelt down in front of the captain. "Hey Katsuo," he said, bringing his face close enough to his superior to make anyone, especially the easily flustered captain, uncomfortable, "we should all play strip poker," he suggested. Ari expected that, since there was no chance in hell that Rook-- or anyone with even a miniscule amount of sanity-- would agree to play strip poker against a former card shark, no matter how bored they were, the suggestion would at least make Rook flustered and embarrassed. Embarrassing the captain never failed to amuse Ari, and in their current situation, amusement was a grave necessity.

 sqυαם Ⅸ Ȥеʀɪș Ɍʏτняɪɑʅ 『 Boredom was never something Zeris was good at dealing with. His injuries were almost completely healed and he saw little point in staying in the room the fourth division left them to do do nothing but die of absolute boredom in. To occupy himself he started to do various random actions like: rolling on the floor, humming to himself, drawing pictures in the air, and so on. "Okay, this is getting me absolutely no where. Someone come up with something fast!" The silence was overbearing and made every second see a million times longer. It seemed like forever when his request was finally answered by Rook who asked if Ari had any cards. "That's a dumb question Ari always has cards....Oh duh Ari has cards! Yay no more boredom!" Zeris immediately perked up and crawled closer to where Ari was. He saw Ari lean close to the captain's face and giggled. Zeris new very well how flustered the captain can get, especially when Ari gets involved. He heard Ari mumble something to the captain, but was unable to make it out. Anxious to escape boredom Zeris quickly called out to them. "Hey Ari can I play too!?" Even if it was just cards, doing anything was better than doing nothing. 』 "Two sided prince"

When his Vice-Captain tossed over the deck, Rook easily caught the deck of cards and began pulling them out in preparation to shuffle. Before he could, Ari suddenly appeared in front of him. Rook flushed red with embarrassment, and started to back away until he ran into the wall obscuring his path of escape. "That would... um... be... uh..." he stammered, continuing to awkwardly glance away from his Vice-Captain while continuing to fail to form comprehensible sentences. Even before Rook could say no, that bouncy fourth seat Zeris came up and asked to play as well. Now that two people seemed in favor of the idea - thought little did Rook know that Zeris had no idea what the idea was, it seemed almost impossible to say no. Roughly, Rook shoved Ari away from him and looked away in embarrassment. "F-fine," he muttered, careful not to make eye contact with the green-haired Shinigami. Undoubtedly the expression would be one of amusement, and considering the fact that Rook was defeated as it was, he couldn't bring himself to make eye contact with... that. At some point, he would have to face Ari. Especially since he had for some bizarre reason agreed to play this incredibly suggestive game with that person.

Ari was, of course, amused by Rook's embarrassment, but mostly he was shocked that he actually agreed to play strip poker, despite knowing Ari's history. But Ari didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to get rid of clothing, so he didn't point the fact out. Ari stood up and began to unbutton his shirt. He glanced back at Rook, who was still up against the wall, "you'll thank me later," he said. He fully removed his shirt and threw it across the room before sitting in front of Rook, still uncomfortably close to him, but less so now. "Okay, Katsuo. Deal," he said.

 ℒｙｎｘ ╀ ╁ ╂ ╃ ╄ ╅ ╆ ╇ ╈ ╉ ╊ ╋ Lynx was lying on the floor attempting to fall asleep, seeing as there was nothing better to do at the moment since the fourth company had left them there alone. "I barely even got injured. Why do I have to stay here with all these imbeciles? " He tried to not be around his company members as much as possible, as he dislikes socializing, but now he was stuck in a room with all of them and resentment started to settle in.
He overheard Zeris over on the other side of the room. "What's that white haired kid going on about now?" Hearing strip poker and not being amused, he laid his head back down hoping his second attempt at falling asleep would be successful. Unfortunately, this was not so. Seeing as he couldn't fall asleep and there was nothing better to do, Lynx decided to join in the game. He stood up with a sigh and crossed to the other side of the room. He stood over Rook, Ari, and Zeris, and all but the latter looked at him, wondering why he was now in their vicinity. It was odd that Lynx would come up to squad members; they knew well that he was antisocial. Zeris was still going on about something, not realising that the attention was no longer focused on him. "Yo." Lynx sat down in between Rook and Zeris, strategically sitting opposite from Ari. "Do you have room for one more?" ╀ ╁ ╂ ╃ ╄ ╅ ╆ ╇ ╈ ╉ ╊ ╋ ＳＱＵＡＤ Ⅸ "Mercy is not in my vocabulary"
