Otto had spent most of the night crying alone in his bedroom. He did what he;d thought was best for Eva, and maybe even himself. But to know he'd hurt her, made her yell and take away her smile? To know that made it hurt all the worse. Now? He could barely allow himself to even be her friend. From girlfriend, to stranger in the span of a night.

The morning came, and it was time for his usual line up of chores for the Death Division. But Otto didn't get out of bed. Surrounded in a cocoon of blankets and laid upon a mountain of pillows. Otto felt heavy. He couldn't move a muscle. The sun poured in through his large windows, overlooking the majesty of a fog-less island. But it brought him no joy.

Hours passed. Otto remained in bed. His bloodshot gaze ambiguously stared into nothing as he lay on his side curled into a ball.

Maybe he ought to just stay here today.

Cleaning Otto’s room had become a part of Molly’s weekly scheduling…this shouldn’t be surprising. She’d been doing it for quite a while now, and since she wasn’t getting any resistance about it, it wouldn’t be stopping anytime soon. Now how did Molly exactly get into his room when she didn’t have a key? Well…it was a known fact that Aria had given her mist trainees lock pick sets for them to become quite familiar with…

Huh.

All in the name of safety and wellbeing, okay?

There was a soft click as Molly unlocked Otto’s door, and his door gently opened, revealing said hunter who was not wearing her coat and had her hair pulled back into a pony tail. She also came with a bucket, soap, gloves, and a scrub brush. She stepped into the Hunter’s room and closed the door softly behind her, but then paused.

Hey wait…Hazel eyes blinked before they drifted over to the apparent covered up lump on the bed. Otto was never in whenever she came to clean…

Molly stared at the lump, lost for a few moments, before she set her cleaning supplies down and then ventured over to the bed. The young woman paused at the edge, and clasped her hands together.

“Otto…?” She started, smiling.

He'd expected to be left alone in silence the whole day. He'd been banking on it. Molly's voice broke what had been a sad but peaceful time of brooding, yet a comfortable numb. The teen felt his emotions begin to stir again. Someone was here. And they wanted to help. He would have to talk.

He wanted none of it.

The blond suddenly pulled the covers over his head in a vain attempt to become invisible.

Molly made a soft sound of surprise as Otto stirred, but only to try and burrow under his blankets some more.

Though she didn’t concentrate too hard on the feeling…this felt nostalgic of a time in her life that seemed to belong to someone else. When that woman had a young sister who often refused to get out of bed whenever she beckoned her to. “Otto?” She asked cheerfully. “Are you alright?” She paused, and her brows furrowed with worry. “You’re not feeling under the weather, are you?” Maybe that’s why he was burrowing! Maybe he was sick?

She reached out and tentatively touched the pile of blankets, trying to find the boy’s shoulder to determine where he was exactly.

Otto really liked Molly. That made this hard. He'd been effectivly trying to push away everyone that he loved and cared for. That way, if they one day died, maybe he'd have become so distant from them it wouldn't hurt. Not like with Clerise.

He could be all alone. That was fine. He was strong enough to get over a bit of heartbreak all on his own. Even heartbreak that was caused by his own actions.

"Go away.." He moaned out in a hoarse voice. "Stop coming here."

Molly paused…and then giggled softly. Aw, that was cute! Though she didn’t say that out loud, because boys probably didn’t appreciate being called cute, except Jeremy. He didn’t seem to mind that. But Otto’s hoarse voice was a cause for concern…maybe he was sick! Oh no!

“Otto, do you want some soup? You sound sick!” The trainee took to sitting on the edge of the bed, and rested a freckled hand on his shoulder once she found it through the piles of blankets.

Otto felt a hand rest on his shoulder, and he knew Molly wouldn't be leaving him alone. Not unless he could figure out a way to get her to go away. Or hurt her feelings. But he was tired and apathetic. Lethargic and depressed. He could barely breathe, let alone fight.

"M'not sick. Just leave me alone.." He mumbled half heartedly, his body feeling heavier. He couldn't move, he couldn't think. Everything was too difficult.

“Not sick…?” She was quiet for a moment, staring at the lump. “…Um…what’s the matter, then?” She asked softly, and her hand moved from his shoulder to grasp the corner of one of the lower layered blankets, and she started to pull it back in hopes it’d reveal Otto.

Maybe she wasn’t quite buying the not sick idea either. She’d have to check his forehead!

The jig was up. She was peeling back the covers. Nothing was going to stop her from seeing him now. Otto relented, and finally sat up, running his hands thorugh his messy bangs to brush his hair down. His eyes were red and puffy, his cheeks likely stained from a long night of crying.

He looked like Hell.

"You don't let up do you.." he mumbled lethargically, leaning back onto the head board and letting his hands fall into his lap.

Molly let out a soft gasp once Otto was revealed to her. It wasn’t hard to miss his red puffy eyes, and the way he carried himself now. Her brows furrowed, and she fretted. Molly hesitated for a moment, unsure as to what she wanted to tend to first, but then also settled for smoothing down his hair, as a gesture of comfort, she hoped, as well. “Um…no…? Why would I?”

She frowned softly.

“What’s wrong?”

He may as well come clean. Maybe she would get bored or distracted and leave him along to brood if he did. "I broke up with Eva last night." He replied in what he hoped was blunt. However, it came out almost wheezy and weak. His throat felt raw.

Molly blinked and stared at him, and honestly looked lost for a moment. Broke up with…Eva…Oh…oh wait! Was that his….girlfriend? Molly did remember having a talk about her, she hopefully recalled, quite a few months ago. Ah…so…even after that talk, things didn’t go well, then? Molly’s blank look then turned into one of sympathy, and she reached out to wrap her arms around the boy’s shoulders.

“I’m really sorry, Otto.”

A hug from a human was remarkably more fulfilling then one with pillows. He'd buried himself in them often, trying to mimic the softness and warmth without the work of asking for one from somebody. Pillow piles, three comforters on his bed. All ways to surround himself in plush warmth to replace what he really wanted; human warmth.

He was too tired to fight her off. Too tired to come up with something mean to say. Otto made no move to hug her back, but his weight instantly sank into Molly's form as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders.

"I really hurt her feelings." He admitted after a moment. "I feel like s**t."

As Otto sunk into her, Molly just wrapped her arms tighter around the boy, and one hand moved up to cradle the back of his head. She even started to rock with him gently. It was a deeply ingrained habit. “How did you hurt her feelings?” She asked softly.

Molly's innate ability to get past defences had Otto easily spilling his guts to her. He was no longer emotional as he had been the night before. His voice was low and tired, hoarse and sore. But he was talking. He could feel and hear her heart beating, soothing his nerves like a rhythmic trance.

"I was mad, and told her what I felt about our relationship... or lack there of." He mumbled drearily. "She blamed herself... and I let her do it."
