"Come on! I think we should start at the game shop and then work our way around."
The bright voice belonged to a teen girl with dark hair, dressed for a day at the mall in a ruffled pink skirt over dark leggings and knee high boots. A thick white sweater let her get away without a coat and a small purse hung messenger style over her shoulder. Turning to face the door, Orah grinned at her friend, gripping the strap of her purse while she waited for him to catch up.
Oh, it felt like forever since she had gotten to hang out with Nate, even just on patrol as senshi. She'd honestly missed seeing him around, especially when the whole group decided to go out together. This made today something of a special occasion, as it was also her first outing since she'd gotten her cast removed. It felt good to have her sleeves pushed up to her elbows and nothing at all wrapped around her wrists. She could finally bend and flex, actually grip things... even though the grip was a little weaker than before. Whatever. She had exercises to do that the doctors had given her, so it would be back in time.
"Do you have anywhere in particular you want to stop at?" Orah said as she tilted her head and smiled.

Nathan Darrow was not the best at hanging out, but for certain people he made the exception. Orah happened to be one of them. In fact, most of the people he made that exception for were Senshi, like she were, and people he had either saved or had saved him. Usually both. He was closer to those in this war with him than he had ever been with others. Orah had managed to get through all of his defenses, and there were many.
He could relax with her a bit more, and be himself.
"Nah, I'll leave the shopping to you, I'll just follow your lead, alright? As long as you don't try to dress me up in something, then I think we'll be alright. We can stop by the arcade when you get bored, or whatever." He grinned at her, shrugging his shoulders.
He liked the plan of starting with the game shop, at least. That was stuff he was interested in, and he liked playing them in his down time. Between being a senshi and... well. Being a senshi, really, occupied most of his time these days.
"You play many games?" So he was making the effort to get to know one of his friends. It was uncharacteristic of him, but then again, he prided himself on being unpredictable.

Orah couldn't help a laugh at the thought of dressing Nate up. He looked far to masculine to be comfortable in feminine clothes, so the mental picture was amusing.
"Oh, don't worry! I have no plans for that." She said with a smile, her hands clasped comfortably behind her back as she oriented to the right direction and started walking, changing her steps so she could walk beside her friend. She wasn't really planning on trying on clothes for this trip herself, since that would require Nate to sit outside the dressing room while she changed and the young woman honestly didn't want to bore him with that. They got so few chances to just hang out together, she really, really wanted him to enjoy it. If that meant only going to the stores he liked and even being a little bored herself, she'd count it all worth it if he had fun.
When the question was posed, Orah blinked for a moment and smiled sheepishly.
"Not really any, actually. I mean, my brother does. He really enjoys them. I prefer books, but he has occasionally dragged me in to play a two person game with him. He doesn't do it very often, and really not at all lately. Probably because I'm horrible at it." She laughed. Despite that, though, Orah seemed to know exactly where the store was and all too soon they were turning into it, the sound of explosions and heroic music filtering out the open glass doors from the various sample games arranged around the walls.
It was somewhat busy today, but that was normal. Mostly guys, but there were a couple of girls... which made being in here a little less awkward for the young woman.
"What sorts of games do you like? Matthew tends towards, like... rpgs. Not so much the stuff like Halo or Call of Duty." She said as she looked around, wondering where to even start.

Nate grinned and nodded his head.
"Good, because I'd put up a damn good fight," he grumped, but it was all feigned. He was happy to be there, and though he had to keep up appearances, he was enjoying himself and not just walking in to this whole thing with an attitude bad enough to ruin it.
He grunted when she said she did not play many games. He found so few people that did, he would have to expose her to more video games so she was not so sadly out of the loop with them. That, or start hanging out with boys that were gamers like he was, and not just girls who did not stray close to video game consoles.
But most of his friends were just that. Girls who did not play video games. And really, he was okay with that. They were still cool, even if they did not know his game references.
"Well, we'll have to get you playing more. You'd be surprised: they're good for your reflexes." He grinned at her, as though training and being a goody goody would be the deciding factor for her. "Anyway, I'll play anything once. I like shooters, and things that blow up, but I even play those cheesy RPGs," which he liked a lot more than he would admit, "or sometimes sports games. I dunno, I just like playing them, so I'll try anything once."

She really couldn't help laughing at the idea of fighting with Nate to get him into clothes that wouldn't have suited him at all. It was a truly ridiculous idea, but also a funny mental image considering how much taller and broader than her he was.
"I would be happy to try anything once, just like you, so if you think of something, by all means. I'm used to being dragged into things like that anyway. I'll make sure not to mention to Matthew that you think his rpgs are cheesy." She giggled as she browsed the games along the wall, running her eyes down the spines of cases. Some of the names she recognized, a lot she didn't... but one caught her eye and the young woman reached to tug it out of the line up, a wide smile spreading over her face.
"Oh, Matthew said he wanted to try this one! Okami... he said its old, but a lot of people raved about how good it was, and that the art style was really pretty." She said as she read over the back of the case, having to admit that it did look pretty. Of course, Matthew had not used the word 'pretty' to describe it... they would have revoked his man card if he had, no doubt. But, for all his bluster and teen angst, he had an eye for art.
"I don't know how much reflex training you can get from a video game, but its a nice thought. I wouldn't mind seeing if it were true." Sliding a glance at her friend, Orah worried her lip with her teeth for a moment before. "How have things been, anyway? I know we haven't talked in a while... A lot has happened for me, so I can only assume maybe you've had a lot going on as well."
How could they not? With the war raging around them, every day seemed like a new adventure... though of the darker, far more unpleasant, kind.
