at first, was scared of pony- pony was big and bright and confusing and bird was so small and cage was so cold
but pony was quiet
pony was still
pony had seed and soft words and gentle pats and soon was not scared anymore
pony has bright hairs, but soft hairs
good hairs
soft for bird to nest in and groom
pony has soft wings to press against
wings like bird
they are good wings warm wings
pony is good
pony is not bird
but pony is good enough
sometimes pony takes bird outside and bird thinks could fly away
but why would want?
sometimes pony lies down on grass and stares at sky and points and talks at the stars and uses big excited words
bird not know these words
but bird understands that they are important to pony so bird lies and looks and watches and shares
bird likes to be with pony
bird loves pony
pony loves bird
