Gormlaith's Kobold
900/900

Quote:
You will make an introductory post and roll a 100-sided dice during your introductory post. This post is basically you walking onto the stage once more with your Pokemon in a Pokeball or next to you.

Then your opponent will do likewise, also rolling a 100-sided dice. Person with the highest roll goes first.

HP/Attack bonuses count if your Pokemon has them. Pokemon that cannot evolve any further have 1000 HP. Pokemon that can evolve one more time have 900 HP. Pokemon that can evolve two more times have 800 HP.

Now for every attack post, you roll one 6-sided dice which will let your opponent know how to react to your post. 1 = your attack misses, 2-5 = your attack hits for 100 damage, 6 = your attack hits for 200 damage. Even stuff that normally does not do damage - such as growl - will do a kind of unseen damage in that it will hurt your opponent's dignity or whatnot.

Super effective/resistance/immunity/whatever do not count. Although please don't say you punch a Ghost Pokemon in the face. That's just not elegant - try to make all attacks seem reasonable and keep beauty/grace/cuteness/etc in mind. Also try to humiliate your opponent if possible - you are making your own Pokemon look good and your opponent's Pokemon look bad!

At the end of every post, please include your Pokemon's HP.

After 5 posts from both sides (10 posts in total not including the intro posts), time will be called and the battle will end regardless of if a Pokemon has fainted or not. You will be scored on both how much damage you have done, your general performance throughout the battle (so RP your best!), and your creativity throughout the battle.

A response post from each side after the 10 damage posts in response to a KO or finished time is allowed to bring the battle to a culmination. Judges will post shortly after to let you know who won.

If you do not make a post within 24 hours (subjected to change) of your opponent's last post, you are automatically disqualified and your opponent wins the battle. We will then alert you of your next battle.

Gormlaith had been shocked to hear that she and Kobold were moving on. The shock didn't last long since she figured that no one knew of the mistake that had happened in their performance. She had 'pep-talked' her Larvesta and then returned him to his pokeball.

Walking back onto the stage she smiled and waved to the crowd. She waited for her opponent to show up before letting out Kobold. Now if he could land his entrance....

As Arissa watched the performances by other pokemon, she grew worried. There were many impressive displays, and she feared Ronen's might be overshadowed. She'd decided to play up the cute aspect of her pokemon instead of going for something flashy, but perhaps she should have tried for a more impressive show. But when the scores were revealed, she breathed a sigh of relief. She tied with 3 other people for second-highest points and moved on to the battle round.

When she returned to the stage for the next round, she chose to carry Ronen in her arms instead of the basket. Ronen trilled as they entered, waving his arms to audience and opponent alike. He wiggled around so much that he slipped free and fell to the ground. Arissa nearly made a grab for him but stopped herself, knowing that would just make them look bad and hoping he could turn it to his advantage.

Ronen landed on the balls of his feet and bounced, tumbling forward into a somersault before stopping in a seated position. He managed to climb back to his feet, then trilled again. That was fun!

Gormlaith smiled at Arissa and then tossed up her pokeball. "Let's go Kobold!" She called out. Kobold appeared in a flash of smoke and somehow managed to do a somersault. Usually when he did this entrance he landed on his face. However today he managed to pull it off and land on his little claws. "Let's get this little guy something to play with. He did enjoy playing around earlier." She said sweetly.

Kobold complied by raising up onto the back part of his body. He bowed to his opponent and then faster than anyone would have thought he was rushing him. He circled Ronen and while he did he shot a bunch of string at him. String was something to play with, although this string was likely to tie him up.

When Kobold appeared, Ronen started to wave to his opponent, but the Larvesta was moving before he'd had a chance to do more than raise his arm. The String Shot swiftly wrapped him up, circling him with a winding white thread.

That could make it hard for Ronen to move, unless they could get it off him. He had no way of cutting or burning it, so they'd have to be a bit more creative. "Ronen, tie up the thread with Grass Knot," Arissa suggested.

Ronen managed to wave his arms a bit at the ground. Though the movement wasn't strictly necessary, that's how he'd practiced the routine and he was used to doing so. Long strands of grass burst out of the ground at his feet, weaving in among the white threads until Ronen was covered from head to toe, as if he were encased inside a giant flower bud. Then the grasses pulled apart, stretching the strands of thread outward and downward as they unfurled. They stopped when the tops were about halfway to the ground, forming an even bowl around Ronen that looked like a nest or a basket. Ronen, now free of all obstructions, raised himself on his tiptoes to see where Kobold had gone.

Gormlaith was impressed with how they managed to turn the attack around. She looked at Kobold and considered their options. Best one was to simply burn the grass but how to make it look good. She considered for a moment then smiled. "Will-o-wisp!" She called.

Kobold had moved back when the grass began to grow. He wasn't sure how he was going to come back from that but his trainer apparently had some idea. Hearing the attack being called he figured she wanted it to burn. He darted in closer and then from his horns came a blue flame. Several move appeared and they began to dance around him. He appeared to 'dance' with them but it's hard for a Larvesta to dance so he did his best. Then the flames all began moving towards Ronen and his grass bowl. They danced around the Togepi for a few moments before falling down like fallen petals and catching the grass on fire.

When Kobold began to dance, Ronen smiled wildely and started to dance along. He had more enthusiasm than style, but he skipped and twirled around the grass bowl regardless. He seemed to take no notice when the small flames descended upon his little nest.

Arissa saw he was having fun and decided to let him run with it. "Ronen, all eyes on you with Sunny Day!"

This was a cue they'd practiced, and without pausing Ronen raised his arms to the sky. A bright beam of sunlight shone down, illuminating Ronen and a small circle around him that just reached beyond the bowl, leaving the rest of the stage with normal lighting conditions. With the extra light on him, Ronen's dance could be more easily seen. He seemed to take no notice of the flames, dancing merrily regardless of his surroundings.

As the flames fell on the bowl, the fresh green grass smoldered a bit before catching. The drier threads, on the other hand, caught fire quickly. Lines of fire swiftly ran the circumference of the bowl as the threads burned to ash. The smoke rising off these drifted into the air around Ronen, and illuminated by the sunlight they formed a sort of hazy halo, which swirled about as Ronen bounced and twirled. With the threads gone, the grasses had nothing to hold them up and they drooped outward as they began to catch fire. Blue flames flared on the ends of the grasses and traveled up them as they drooped down, shriveling to crackly brown strands.

Ronen finally took notice when the grasses beneath his feet turned from springy and soft to crunchy and dry. Then he paused and looked down at the shriveled greenery, looking puzzled.

Gormlaith fought not to frown. This Arissa was good but then again its to be expected from her previous results in other shows. She thought of an idea for a combo but it would be risky. It could make her opponent look good or Kobold could mess it up. "Oh well. Kobold! Time for the meteor shower!" It was a cue for a string shot/ember combo.

Kobold looked at Ronen at the end a little confused. He hadn't expected the little guy to try and dance with him. Hearing his cue he back up. He then took to the sky using the fire from his horns. From there he shot wads of string up into to the air each in a ball shape. As they began to fall he flew by them, igniting them with the fire coming from his horns. Soon it looked as though a bunch of flaming meteors were falling through the sky towards Ronen.

Ronen stared up at the flaming projectiles, apparently admiring how bright they were and making no move to dodge. Arissa, on the other hand, knew that could hurt. Dodging wouldn't do much good though, she had to focus on how to make a nice show. Meteors, huh? "Ronen, turn them into shooting stars with Dazzling Gleam!"

Ronen trilled and raised one arm high, pointing it at the falling flames. A bright burst of glittery light shot up from his hand, spreading outward to engulf the missiles. It washed over them and dissipated into the air above, but it left its mark; each meteor now glimmered gold, trailing a long tail of sparkles behind it.

It didn't hinder their progress though, and they continued to fall straight down. When they impacted on the stage, they burst in showers of fiery sparks and gold glimmers. At the last minute Ronen realized the danger and tried to step aside from the attack, but only managed to avoid a direct hit; he was still grazed by one or two and hit by the sparks from others as they hit the stage, peppering him with both embers and glittery sparkles.

Gormlaith grinned when she saw that they changed the meteors into shooting stars. "Kobold! Time to catch a star!" She called out before the 'stars' all hit the stage.

Kobold zoomed about in the air and spotted the last 'star' heading for the stage and in turn for Ronen. He used a light screen to cover the star completely. It glowed brightly in the light screen case and slowly fell towards the stage. Kobold flew under it and had it land on his back as if he had actually caught it. He then lifted the back part of his body to send it flying above him. The star was fading inside the light screen and before it burst into embers and sparkles the light screen broke. It sent all of the embers and sparkles falling down on Kobold making him shine and covered him in glitter for a moment.

Ronen spun around a bit to watch the glitter on him sparkle in the light, and looked up in time to see Kobold's "star" burst. He trilled and clapped at the sight. Now they were both sparkly, how fun!

Arissa considered their next move. Well, The Larvesta wanted to be glittery, eh? Why not give him more than he could handle? "Ronen, blind him with Dazzling Gleam."

Ronen stopped clapping to point an arm at Kobold, moving it to follow the Larvesta's flight path. He squinted one eye closed as if sighting down his arm, then fired of a burst of shining light. This one took the form of a large, roughly circular projectile, and was carefully aimed to hit Kobold squarely, where it would burst with a brilliant point-blank flash. Just before it hit, Ronen added to the light by summoning a quick Sunny Day to illuminate the whole room and make the light even more intense. It only lasted a moment before he let the sunlight fade away again.

Gormlaith had to close her eyes from the bright glare that was now her pokemon. Well if they wanted him to blind and dazzle, why not really make him stand out. "They want you to shine Kobold! Light Screen to capture the light. Then change the colors!" She called out as the Sunny Day faded making it less bright so all could see.

Kobold certainly was blinded by the Dazzling Gleam. He dropped in the air unable to see so unable to control where he was going. Hearing his trainer he quickly set up a light screen around him to capture the remaining light from the dazzling gleam attack. He shone brightly for a moment and then the light began to fade. Before it could completely he sent out some blue flames from his horns making himself and the light screen glow blue. The flames quickly went out and he sent out red/orange flames giving a similar effect. Then came purple flames and after they were gone, green flames creating a colorful strobe effect. When the light screen disappeared he landed on the ground.

It looked like the blinding light succeeded in stopping Kobold from flying, at least. As he fell towards the stage, Arissa instructed, "Ronen, give him a soft landing with Grass Knot."

Ronen was happy to oblige, and raised his arms to make a thick patch of grass sprout on the stage, just before Kobold landed. But it didn't stay a tame cushion for long; right after the Larvesta touched down, the grasses started to twine around him. They grew taller and thicker, attempting to coil around him from horns to tail until he was wrapped tight as a gift-wrapped present. A few strands even formed curls at the top as if mimicking a bow.

Ronen thought that looked pretty, so he made a few more strands of grass sprout into a bow at his feet. He picked this up and, stretching his arms as high as they could go, managed to slip the green bow onto his head. He wished he had a mirror so he could see how it looked.
