The"Cherry Blossom" Forest

The Cherry Blossom Forest
"World of Isolation. World of Fear. World of Sorrow. Welcome to...my heart. Welcome to my sakura forest."

|The Cherry Blossom Forest|

This place is very secluded and is said to be home of an unstoppable demon. This forest located on the outside of the Rukongai. No Animals and No Life. The forest is made of completely sakura trees that are in full bloom as of now. The sky is masqueraded by clouds/ The clouds are very tightly sewn together, in order to block out all chances of light. Then the wind is slowly picking up. The mood is despair, grim, isolated, and sorrowful. What else could this place be? It is no other than the Cherry Blossom Forest.

░((ⓄⓄⒸ: ((This Role Play is in a alternate universe. A universe where the Soul Society has yet to be founded. However, everyone retains the rank of powers there normal RPC has. The point of this Role Play is either to change Kimmimaru, Kill him, or be killed. I will allow two others to join. If you wish to join, DO NOT POST right away. send me a PM))░

The sky was canceled by a sea of grey. It was if the clouds were tightly sewn together to make a formidable blanket. This blanket had only one sole purpose. To keep all light out. The air that surrounded this area was stuffy as well as an ominous presence to it. Below the sky was a forest. Not any mere forest but a forest of natural beauty. This forest was made up of Cherry Blossom trees. Each one in full bloom. Each tree showing off it's majestic beauty.

Deep within this forest, there is said to be a lake. This lake is so clear that some even refer it as "The Mirror of the Forest". The lake was eerie and still. Around the lake were fully blossomed sakura trees. Their formation seemed like that of a natural occurring barrier. Usually, a scenery like this one would be infamous through out the regions as a beautiful sight. Normally people would come far and wide to see such a majestic sight. However, this was not a normal case.

Legend says, that deep within the forest. Lies a demon. A demon who has no equal. This demon has terrorized countless villages and slain many. This demon has become so infamous around the world that people have stopped wandering into the forest. It is normal for people to avoid the forest at all cost. This so called demon is so ruthless and scary that some even through "sacrifices" into the forest to appease it. However, in all the attempts that sacrifices have been given, the whole village attoned for their sinful action. Meaning, that no one nor a single being has stepped within the walls of the forest for over 100 years.

It is here, deep within the forest a little boy sits on the edge of the lake. His hair as black as the raven feathers. He wore a tattered blue and black style of kimono. He was wearing, a Black and Steel Blue Kimono. While on the top half of his body is wore in black while the under kimono is in blue. His under half is in the same but the colors are reversed. The style is more of a laxed, Miko style taken from the feudal era. This uniform also has a dot design on the sleeves. He also has two black cloth bracelets around his wrists. His skin was as pale as the driven snow. His eyes as gold as the stars above, when the night is cloudless.

This boy was merely skipping rocks in the lake and watching the ripples that occurred with each contact between the rock and the water. He would repeat these action several times. After he was done, he would bring his knees towards his chest and wrap his arms around his knees. His mind was racing with thoughts. How long has he been truly isolated from people? One Hundred. No. At least two hundred years. Yet he remained the appearance of a boy. Why was this? Not even he knew. Sadness was slowly gripping his reality.

In a moment of desperation to keep himself from crying yet again. The boy would raise his head at a slight angel. He then would proceed to sing. His voice was in a perfect harmony, and for a demon he had a wonderful and truly majestic voice. He would go on to sing, "Come little children I'll take thee away, Into A land of enchantment. Come Little Children the time's come to play, Here in my garden of shadows. Follow sweet children, I'll show thee the way through all the Pain and the Sorrows. Weep not poor Children for Life is this way, Murdering Beauty and Passions. Hush now dear Children, it must be this way, too weary of Life and Deceptions. Rest now my Children, For soon We'll away into the Calm and the Quiet. Come Little Children, I'll take thee away, Into A land of Enchantment. Come Little Children, the time's come to Play here in my Garden of Shadows."

Something was strange about this forest. Offsetting would be a good description. A murky haze fell over the sky, greying the world around. The trees were not simply trees, but cherry blossom trees. Yet, the darkened atmosphere made the beautiful trees seem dark, and evil. Instead of vibrant blossoms floating to the ground, the blossoms looked creepy: almost as though they were dying. It was enough to send a shiver down a man's side, as it did this particular man. He wore crimson robes, loosely strewn over his tattooed and scarred body. These garbs, too, were dulled by the clouds which fell over the strange forest. His hand moved to rest on the blade resting at his left hip. This movement wasn't aggressive, rather cautious. Though the man had softened, he was no fool. Even if not obvious yet, he was in an enemy's territory, and anything could happen. His red eyes scanned the immediate area of the forest. There were no enemies to be found, which was both reassuring and unsettling. On the one hand, he did not need to begin fighting just yet, but on the other the lack of watch outside meant that this demon was confident in his ability to defeat off enemies, such as this man, and thus had no need for an outer patrol.

Indeed, the rumor was that this forest held a demon within. The villagers had come to Rook, explaining their woes. Had his mother not been killed by such a demon, the bandit leader would not have cared. However, Rook knew that it was his fault that his mother had died, and that he know owed a debt to his village. Though a rogue at heart, Rook's sisters had softened him the past few years, making him susceptible to quests of vengeance and protection. Slowly, he made his way forward. His wooden sandals stepped on the cherry blossoms beneath his feet, which covered the floor of the forest so thickly that the dirt beneath was invisible. In proper lighting, this forest would be a beautiful place. However, this place has been darkened by the creature residing within. What sort of creature, no one really knew. Some of the villagers told him the creature was a great black beast, while others said the demon was small, like a sly fox. Neither of these were probably entirely correct, though Rook knew to keep his guard up. Whatever demon lay within the forest, that demon would not be thrilled to have the presence of a warrior within.

The journey through the forest seemed endless. All along, Rook's heart pounded against his chest. Anticipation tore at Rook's mind, driving him nearly to the brink of insanity as his head swum with thoughts about what sort of being he would face. However, he suddenly came to a clear, nearly stumbling out of the forest to arrive there. At the edge of the lake, there sat a sight unlike any Rook had expected: a little boy sat, skipping rocks across the rocks. Rook furrowed his brow and took a step forward, his hand relaxing a bit on the edge of his sword. That said, his hand did not move from the hilt. He knew that this child could very well be a lure placed by the demon for the sake of luring someone like him out. Rook knew he had to be prepared, yet from all the time spent with his family in the past few years, Rook also couldn't bring himself to strike down or leave an innocent boy. Then, the boy began to sing. The sound sent a shiver down Rook's spine, just like the atmosphere of this dark forest. Something about it just didn't seem... right. "Are you lost?" he asked hesitantly, then added, "There is a demon here, you know... It's quite dangerous." Though Rook had spent some time back at the village, the villagers hadn't told him anything in an attempt to hide their dark actions of the past: he had no idea that no one set foot in this forest anymore, not man, woman, or even child.

The feeling of dread and sorrow had not yet lifted it's presence from the air. The boy would finish his song as another presence joined him. The boy was not only shocked but deep down, he has....happy. He had not been graced with another being's presence in quite some time. After the boy would stop singing, he would slowly turn his body around to reveal his true appearance to the man. The boy's eyes seemed like they were glowing, his eyes were painted with his majestic gold pupils. His hair would slowly shuffle itself as he turned around.

As the boy turned around he would place his hands on the ground to help him shift his weight. The boy kept an emotionless face but it was obvious in his eyes, one could literally see his happiness. The boy would scan the figure that stood before. How tall he was, the red style of clothing, but what in fact caught the boy's attention the most was the sword that the man was holding. As soon as Kimi had beheld the sword that the man was holding, his eyes were transformed. Instead of holding eyes of sheer happiness, his eyes were filled with despair and sorrow.

The boy then turned around away from the man once more after he had taken in the image of the man with a sword. He then brought his knees to his chest once more. The man had spoken to him. What he said made him feel truly worse. Usually in most case, Kimi would put on sme kind of act or façade that he was a normal happy child who loved everyone and everything. He would go on and exploit his childish appearance and tweak his personality a lot so people would even talk to him.

However, Kimi was tired of acting. He had not seen a single soul that had even talked to him in over two hundred years. He had never met a soul who wanted to befriend Kimi in his entire life. Let alone love him, even his own mother hated Kimi. Kimi would watch the lake as he sat their in complete silence. He did not want to speak to the man. He would usually pop off a joke about a game or something. However, he did not want to play with a man who called Kimi a 'demon'. He has no idea what Kimmimaru had been through! Why he did the things he did! Yet, he still called him a demon. Of course, Kimi did not grasp that there was a legend about this place. kimi was unaware about the legend that said there was a demon who lived here. Although, none other lived here. Except for Kimmimaru that is.

Kimmimaru just pretended like the man wasn't there. He then would slowly begin to hum the rhythm of the lyrics he had just sang. Unbeknownst to most beings that had accumulated around Kimmimaru, was that this disturbing song. This disturbing piece of music which usually made people get scared for their very lives, this song, it was Kimmimaru's lullaby. His mother once sang it to him. Kimmimaru took this act as the only act of kindness his mother ever did for him. So it imprinted on him very much. Although, she was singing it to warn Kimmimaru that she was fixing to kill him. However, Kimi usually ignored that point. All Kimi did was sit there in his sitting feudal position and hummed. Hummed like the misunderstood bird locked in it's petty cage.

When Rook appeared in the forest, the boy turned to face him. At first, the boy seemed happy to see him, until Rook noticed his eyes wander to the sword at his hip. This brought about a certain noticeable change in the boy. The shift in his gaze was not typical... at all. If the boy were afraid of Rook, he would show some sort of expression of fear, rather than one of sadness. Rook's brow furrowed. Unusual indeed. A part of Rook was hurt by this display: he was just trying to help this boy, and worried that he might have misspoken. That said, before Rook could reply, the boy shifted and began to hum along to that song he had finished not too long before. In all honesty, the swordsman did not pay much mind to the words of the song before. He assumed it was just some sort of child's play sort of thing. After all, kids these days learned the most disturbing things wandering around Seireitei. It was a brutal world for children, and Rook had no reason to believe that this boy was anything more than any other child, and thus was lost like any other child might be, yet surprisingly disinterested in someone offering to save him.

A nearby wind brushed over Rook's face, blowing the ponytail over his shoulder and his bangs while pushing a cherry blossoms from the nearby tree to land on his shoulder. "Don't be afraid, I'm not here to hurt you." This man really did not have much of a head on his shoulders. Though he figured that the boy did not fear him, he could think of no other way to respond. In a gesture of good faith, Rook removed his hand from the hilt of his sword. Setting out to save a village was far from the normal activities of this man, not to mention the fact that he wasn't cutting down this boy where he stood. A year ago, Rook wouldn't have come out to this damned forest in the first place, much less allowed this boy to live for standing in the way of finding this demon. Yet, the eyes of Rook's little sister, those eyes which burned with an anger toward this brother she had never really known, would never be forgotten. Maybe this was cliche, but Rook felt he should try to be nice to those who were weaker, or less fortunate, than he. After all, Rook had a name, and could gain wealth if he wanted it. Not all men could say as much.

Then, he took a step forward hesitantly. He did not want to spook the child, but also knew that he could neither help this boy nor find the demon if he didn't get some sort of information from him. "I'm here to help you," he added, not entirely sure whether this was the right thing to say, but finding no other words. "The villagers from the village outside this forest sent me to vanquish the demon residing here. You see, the demon has killed many people, including my mother. I... left when I was a boy and came back to try to right the wrongs." After saying this, Rook paused and thought about what he had just said. There seemed to be no real reason to go on like that; after all, this boy probably didn't care about his problems. A part of him, Rook supposed, felt that maybe the child would be more inclined to help him if he knew Rook wasn't some common sell-sword. His mission was to avenge his mother's death, even if their relationship had grown virtually to the point of nonexistence in his several century absence.

The more the man spoke, the more that the feeling of dread and sorrowed consumed Kimi. The man would slowly step towards Kimi. He then would hesitantly speak again. Although, this time the more he talked, it felt like swords piercing Kimi's heart. Did Kimi actually kill this man's mother? Yes it is true. Before Kimi became the isolated dark manifestation he is today, he was nothing but a demon who killed any who would dare to step in his path. He did this because fighting allowed him to feel...something. After his whole mother issues had occurred, and Kimmiamru actually killed his mother by accident, he became this being who had no emotion what so ever. Having lived like this for so long hurt. However, when he fought another soul he would feel a twinge of fear which in turn made Kimi happy because it was enough proof to show he was a living soul.

It was indeed possible for Kimi to have killed this man's mother a long time ago. For Kimi even though he looked like a mere child was in fact an old soul. No one knew, not even Kimi himself knew, why his body didn't age like other bodies did. Kimi's eye's soon filled with more sorrow and pain as the man spoke. Help Kimi? Save Kimi? Kill the demon? In other words, this man wanted to help Kimi then save Kimi....then Kill Kimi. Was it even possible for such a thing to occur? Kimi knew that if he had just come out with the truth that he would have been killed right off the back. No exceptions. Although, deep in his heart he just wanted to be loved. He wanted someone to hold him at night when he was having nightmares. It was easy to say that Kimi did regret all the things he has done. Although, this could never take back nor atone for the actions he has done nor the people he has hurt.

Kimi's sorrow soon overwhelmed him. He then proceeded to bury his head deeper into his knees to hide his face. In actuality, Kimi did this because he had begun to cry. Tears began to stream from the eyes of this child. He had done so many evil things and he knew no one would understand why he did them. He knew he was going to be killed one day. He had a feeling today was that day. He was going to die....completely and utterly isolated from anyone. Bewteeen tiny whimpers all Kimmimaru would say to the man was two words. His voice was muffled of course, due to his face being buried in his knees. However, his voice and pitch could still be made clear. An elegant voice like that could be compared to chimes of bells. His voice would state, "Go away!" As he shouted and because his emotional state was unbalanced now, Kimi's pressure exerted from his body. It was not possible to hide it anymore. His pressure was immense. It would cause uneasiness. However, it was filled with pain and despair. Kimi did not want to die. Kimi did not want to hurt anyone, anymore that is. However, he knew that if he was going to fight this man that monster inside of him, that 'demon' will be brought out to life once more. That is why he had isolated himself and suppressed his emotions. This man was risking to bring all that back to life.

Suddenly, the boy before Rook started to cry. Rook recognized that he was crying, though no sounds came out; after all, the scorn one in Rook's line of work receives from crying had trained him to hide these emotions - to bury them deeper and deeper into his heart. Yet, in this case he had no idea why the boy had begun to cry. As one might have guessed, Rook became extremely concerned about this reaction. A normal child might be happy to see someone who would save him from a demon? The swordsman's brow furrowed, and he took a step forward again, "I'm sorry..." he stumbled over the apology, not entirely sure what he was apologizing for. Maybe for some reason the boy had become attached to the demon? Rook understood loneliness, and maybe the demon had become fond of tricking young children into wandering into his forest and hypnotizing them to follow, or something. It didn't make any sense, and all the while Rook was grasping at thin air, trying to make sense of a situation that made none. Everything about the boy, and the boy's reaction, went against the norm, and Rook had no idea how to deal with this shift.

Then, a sudden and large spiritual burst broke through Rook's thoughts. His hand shot to the hilt of his sword, though the reiatsu was so great that he could hardly even breathe. But still, something about this pressure was familiar. Like a lost friend, but at the same time with an evil weight behind it. Only then did the swordsman manage to connect the dots. Though the spirit before Rook looked like a child, the spirit was in fact far from it. Rook regained his composure, and held onto the hilt of his blade. His hand visibly shook, barely keeping a grip on the blade. This boy was the demon: the creature that had killed his mother and terrorized the village. Something about the boy kept Rook from drawing his blade. Maybe it was the immense pressure exerted from the spirit bringing Rook's instincts to avoid conflict at all costs. Or maybe it was that this boy did not look like a demon at all. He was not a giant spider, nor a winged succubus. The demon looked like a boy. The demon, essentially, was a boy. And maybe what kept Rook from drawing his blade was that he could relate to a boy who was lost in the world, if this spirit was probably similar in age to himself.

Barely, Rook managed to take his hand from the hilt of his sword. He ground his teeth against each other, not knowing how to deal with this "demon". Was this boy even a demon? Or just a dark, lost soul? Darkness was ever-present in Soul Society, after all, Rook frequently surrounded himself with those who appeared to have been lost. If this boy was a demon, Rook didn't know if there was any hope. The swordsman knew what a villain was, and he knew what a hollow was, but the concept of a demon was foreign to him. Rook took a step back to avoid provoking the demon, if only for the moment. He straightened his back and tried to appear calm, yet not confrontational. What could he even say to this person, now that he knew his identity? Or did he know his identity? A thought occurred to Rook: maybe a demon had no name. If this boy had a name, he must be a man, just like Rook.
"D-do you have a name?" he brought himself to ask, stammering at first before settling into his typical tone. Though he was overwhelmed with a desire to scream at this demon for killing his mother - to lash out and curse his very existence - he remained levelheaded, at least for now. "Most call me Rook, if you care at all..." After saying this, he laughed a bit.

The boy kept his face buried in his knees and let the tears flow from his very eyes that had once held the will to live. The man tried to apologize but these words actually meant nothing to Kimi. They where just words that held no meaning. 'I'm sorry.' in Kimi's mind these words were just an excuse for a being not feel regret nor remorse. However, the words that followed did catch this boy's attention. The man actually wanted to know his name. Kimmimaru could not understand the emotions of love nor sympathy yet he always yearned for these emotions to be pushed into his life. What was this man doing? Was he feeling sympathy? Was this how kindness truly feels? Such mixed emotions occurred inside Kimi. He had no clue what to do.

After a moments pause. Kimmimaru lifted his head once more. He then proceed to take the edge of the cloth of his kimono and wiped the tears from his eyes. He then looked softly at the man. His eyes were still filled with sorrow and pain. Yet deep within his eyes one could see a speck of light. Hope? Probably mere happiness. You see, Kimmimaru has lived a long life. A life of complete isolation. Yes of course he has played sadistic games with people. Although, most of these 'games' ended in someone dying. Let alone these occurred when Kimmimaru was the infamous demon that rampaged the village. However, it was here and now for the first time since Kimmimaru had actually killed his very mother in self defense that anyone had showed him true sympathy. Let alone wanting to know his name.

Kimmimaru beheld the man's presence in his eyes once more. It was as if he was taking a photograph with his mind. He then focused his attention back to the lake. It was true. Kimi could feel it. He wanted this man to leave him alone. However, this man was not being mean nor was he trying to kill Kimi. Then man wanted to know Kimi's name. Even after he did in fact kill this man's mother long ago. Kimmimaru soon began to twiddle his thumbs around each other. He then spoke in a more kind voice. A voice that not sounded like that of a demon. No. His voice sounded like that of a child who had been lost in the dark for hundreds of years. He spoke the words towards the man even though he never made eye contact. He said, "My name....my...name...is Kimmimaru. Kimmimaru Azrael Izuregin Kyokosaka.....it means one like none other." Kimi said with his unquie tone and pitch. He then lowered his chin to his knees as he looked upon the water as if he as waiting for something to occur. Who knows what he was waiting for? Perhaps for this man to kill him? Or maybe some entity to sweep him away into the heavens? No one truly knew....not even Kimmimaru himself.

In all honesty, following Rook's realization, he did not expect the child to speak. Or maybe, it was that he did not want the child to speak. Maybe, just maybe, if the child did not reply, Rook could have the confidence to impale the "demon" with his blade and be done with it. Like the village wanted... like he wanted. To drive his blade through the chest of the murderer of his mother, so he could return home and tell his sisters that he finally made a difference, after causing them so much pain for so many years. But then, the demon began to speak. The voice was not like that of a demon, and it was enough to bring pause to the swordsman. This boy's name was a mouthful, and suddenly Rook knew that this boy was no demon, but a terribly lost soul, like himself. Maybe it was just that Rook was far more lucky than this boy, and he had been born in such a place where instead of isolating himself, his thirst for blood could be channeled into different outlets. Into leading others, into becoming a force to be reckoned with. Not to say that this boy was not a force, that is. The immense spiritual presence was enough to disprove any who would say otherwise.

Yet, a question still nagged at Rook, and he had to deal with it before he could reply. Why had the boy murdered so many villagers? Why had he killed his mother? Though Rook only knew her for a few decades, she was one of the most harmless people he knew. Rook bit his lip and trembled. Only a beast could kill such a person... but then again, Rook thought of all the lives he had ended. Maybe they were gentle people as well, but he cared little for their past. Did this make him worse than the boy?
"Kimi.. ma.. ra... ru." Rook stumbled over trying to repeat the boy's name, before simply grinning. "Kimi, huh? That's a good name!" he laughed, but it was not a laugh of mocking: it was a sincere laugh, like that a friend might give after months of absence. Maybe Rook would end up killing this person eventually, but right now Rook seemed to have reached the conclusion that he was worse of a demon than this creature. Rook could control his strength, yet in the past he had killed countless innocents just for getting in his way. Who was he to judge? More importantly, Rook was living proof of a capability to change.

That said, Rook told himself that if the opportunity came up, he would inquire as to what happened to his mother. Until then, he may as well try to talk to the boy, to see if he really was a heartless monster, as the villagers had implied.
"Do you mind if I sit by you?" he looked around at the forest, and added, "This really is a pretty forest here." Should Kimi turn around, he would see Rook smiling kindly, if looking a bit ignorant. He hadn't quite comprehended the fact that he was talking with his mother's murderer yet, but at the same time a part of him was still struggling through the even deeper realization that Rook himself had killed countless sons and fathers in his lifetime. Who knew whether or not he would one day be faced by someone on a similar quest? Everyone was a man, except for those hollows who ran around as mindless beasts, killing every man, woman, and child who got in its path. This boy was not a hollow, Rook could tell that much, which must mean that the two are not entirely different. Or did it?

Kimmimaru who was still starring off into the void in front of him, was in his own state of mind. Kimmimaru as brought back into reality at the man's laugh. Kimi would slowly turn his face and see the man talk to him. He would also see the man smile at him. Kimmimaru was in fact in complete awe at such a man. He claimed that Kimi had killed his mother, yet he is here making small talk with him. What was this feeling? Something deep within Kimi was occurring. Something he had never felt before. It was a sensation of relief? No...it was something much more...peaceful. It was happiness. Kimmimaru had not had real humanoid contact for quite some time. Then this man waltzes in here and says he wants to sit next to Kimi. In reality Kimi could not even begin to fathom nor comprehend such a complexity within this man's nature. However, he did not refuse but nor did he accept.

Kimmimaru would stare at the man once more. He then would focus his attention back to the lake. Kimmimaru's eyes focused on the lake. This man was being nice to him. Why? How? It was upon this thought a memory had pushed its way through Kimi's conscience. It was a memory of a long time ago. So long that Kimi actually had a younger body as well as a presence of himself. He was playing in a very vividly garden full of life and beauty. He was playing by himself when his mother came. His mom sat next to him and sang the lullaby that he had once sang before. Kimi remembered that he wanted to sit in his mother's lap. He slowly fell asleep as his mother sang to him. Then the next thing he remembered was his mother in the garden, her blood slowly seeping out of her body. A knife plunged in her heart. The lily's beside her slowly turning a ruby encrusted red just like her blood.

Kimi was slowly brought back into reality. You see this was the braking point. It was because of that monstrous moment right there. That Kimi snapped. That Kimi became a demon. It was that moment right there, that Rook's mother died. It was all predestined from that moment on. Now the gods have sent Kimi his killer in return. Kimi was just waiting for him to die. Waiting to die and end this hellish void that people called life. He was intrigued with this man and why he wanted to be nice to Kimi. However, he had no intention on letting his guard down. If this man was going to kill Kimi. He would have to fight him in a real battle. Although, all Kimi could do now was sit in wait. Sit and wait until Rook makes his decision.

The boy did not reply. This seemed to oddly stray from the path Rook had predicted for Kimi. He had hoped that the boy would invite him to sit down, and maybe they could have a chat. Or maybe the boy had forgotten his question? "Is... that a yes?" he asked when the boy turned back to the lake. It's like pulling teeth from a chicken with this kid... Rook thought. He put his hands on his hips and leaned back, looking at the sky in thought. The sky was gray, which wasn't much help for getting a spark of inspiration. Dealing with this person would be more difficult than Rook thought. Though he desperately wanted to, Rook had a feeling he might not be able to pull his blade on this child. Something about it just seemed like slaughtering a helpless opponent, which was far from how Rook wanted to be remembered. Every single person he had ever murdered on the roads had lifted his blade first: even if they lifted their blades at the threat of being robbed, it was still never Rook making the first move. Especially against a spirit who looked like a child, he just... couldn't.

That said, the fact remained that this boy had killed his mother, and he at least wanted to know why. And maybe getting to know this boy would do just that. Who knew, maybe even the demon inside Kimi would emerge and Rook could be rid of the monster. Or maybe the supposed "demon" was just a helpless boy calling for help.
"I'm going to sit by you; I hope you don't mind." Stepping next to the left of Kimi, Rook removed his blade and set it down on his own left, so that he sat between the blade and the other spirit, and sat down. For a moment, he didn't say anything. His posture was noticeably awful: instead of sitting traditionally, with his legs folded under his knees, or at least crossed, Rook sat with his legs outstretched, leaning back on his hands. He stared into the lake, thinking about how he could possibly respond to this child. Outright asking why he had killed Rook's mother would not exactly be an appropriate question, but Rook still had a burning desire to know. Just to have that degree of closure that would allow him to either end Kimi's existence or move on with his life. Not knowing would be worse than the feeling that he had let his sisters down twice by not ending the life of the demon who killed their mother.

But would it be a let down?
Those two are impossible to read, the swordsman thought in reference to his sisters. A part of Rook felt that they wouldn't forgive him, no matter what. One way he would come back without having avenged their mother, and the other way he would come back with the blood of an opponent who hadn't even fought back. Certainly one of the two was more cowardly than the other. Staring into the reflection in the lake, Rook couldn't help but wonder how he would be viewed if he came back to the village without having killed the "demon." Probably better than how he would feel if he did fulfill his pledge. "I can see why you spend time by the lake... it's almost like it bring clarity or something," Rook noted awkwardly. There was no use dwelling and spiraling in his thoughts. If this boy would only start reacting and responding, Rook could maybe let their conversation decide. All he was doing now was contradicting himself. "You're not much of a talker, are you?"

((OOC: Mhm ^^ This is a very interesting premise for an RP. The AU is pretty fun to work with))

Kimmimaru who's attention was still brought upon lake, was still within his own memories. Then the man sat next to him. Seeing the man sit close towards him made Kimi clench his kimono and slowly flinch towards the seating that the man took. It wasn't everyday that Kimi had direct contact with another being. So he had no idea on how to exactly to react. Was he going to let this man kill him? What was this man's goal? Kimi knew very well what the villagers called this place. He also knew what the villagers called him. So why was this man here? What did he want? What was he going to do with Kimi?

These were all questions that were sinking into Kimi. Then the man went on to talk. It was true, Kimi hated to talk. He also was very indifferent with the man sitting there next to him. It was very hard to explain. In general, Kimi had mixed emotions. he was happy that someone was actually paying attention to him. He was glad that something or someone was actually paying attention to him. The concealing memories that this boy had was painful. The deep scars that this boy could never get rid of. They were always showing. Yet this man, who he had afflicted the same scar that Kimi had suffered was wanting to talk to him. Why?! Kimi could not understand. Kimi did not want to die. Nor did he want to contunie to live. He hated his indifferent state of mind. He clenched his kimono even harder. his knuckles slowly starting to turning white.

Anger slowly succumbing into Kimi's being. He did not understand this man's being or state of mind. Nor did he comprehend on such a thing. His anger as well as his sorrow slowly began to consume him. His hand slowly unclenching his kimono. His hand slowly gaining his original pigment. His eyes still focused upon the lake. Never turning to the man, the boy would finally speak. "I hate it. Words are nothing but swords that cause a pain like none other. the boy would wait awhile for the words to sink in. He then would shift his eyes towards Rook. His eyes filled with pain and sorrow yet they seem to have a spark of anger as well. The boy would speak again in his unqie tone, "Why are you here...what do you want for me? If your going to kill me. Do it. The boy's tone hinted as if he was pleading. Like he wanted to die. However, in contrast to how he may have sounded. The boy did not want to die. Although he knew someday someone would be the one to afflict punishment on him. Kimi knew he had to atone for what he had done. Maybe that day was today....who knows?
