Admittedly, Sailor Canopus hardly picked the best of times to decide to power up and take to mirror hopping. Classes had just gotten back into session and it seemed that teachers didn't want to acknowledge that most children and teens spent their holiday break slacking off and relaxing from the previous semester. Not that she slacked off during the holidays. Far from it! During the day, Bethany Wyatt volunteered herself to various organizations and helped run charity events with the sisters and the Salvation Army. By night, she was seeking out the fallen soldiers of the White Moon and trying her absolute best to lead them into salvation under Prince Remarque and Princess Leto.
Only her endeavors seemed to bear little fruit, and while Canopus knew herself to be patient, she could not help but feel discouraged as well. Not necessarily by the enemy, but in her own inadequacies. What was she doing wrong? What could she improve upon herself if she had any hope of saving the soldiers on the other side from suffering such a terrible fate? What would Remarque do? Or Avior? Or Damocles, Tantalus, and the rest of her court?
For starters, sitting at home and moping wouldn't help, and while it was still a bad time to take to the streets in her senshi attire, where she'd be a victim of the bitter cold, she had a duty to fulfill, and nothing should get in the way of that. Tonight, she took to the streets, passing through the mirror in her dorm and appearing just outside what looked to be a very beautiful greenhouse. There, it'd be warm, and she made her way into the greenhouse, hoping to warm herself up a little before going any further. She intended no harm to come to the building nor the plants inside, as she snuck her way inside. Five minutes, that's all she'd need!

It had been particularly chilly this time of year. Even though he was graced with a splendid uniform with a jacket and plenty of layers, the Neptune Knight could not help but feel the weather sneaking in and bothering him.
Using his knowledge of the local area, he found himself in a public greenhouse. It was well lit, warm, and filled with many beautiful plants.
He had been admiring several orchids when the sound of someone's footsteps managed to fill the air. Normally, it would not be much of an issue, seeing as the building was for public access. However, the hour of the day did not lend to many visitors.
There was also a subtle chaotic energy filling the area too, giving him a clue as to what he might be encountering.
Barely glancing up from a particular orchid with beautiful violet edges, he called out a neutral greeting, his accent echoing through the air.
"Good evening."

How enthralled with the greenhouse's many plants and beauty was Canopus that she hadn't even noticed there was another presence inside of the building with her until he called out to her, and like a doe that heard a twig snap while she was grazing, the Mirror senshi stood very, very still. A flawed maneuver as the moment she stood her full height she could see the other person looking dead at her, but it was worth a shot, wasn't it? She looked at the one that addressed her and immediately she had to fight down her initial reaction, which was to cast her gaze downwards and scuffle her feet nervously. Whether or not she was in her powered state mattered little, because beneath the power granted to her by Prince Remarque and the glamour, she was still quiet and shy Bethany Wyatt. But his appearance did make it easier for her to overcome her initial shyness.
"H-hello... good evening to you too." Canopus said in a soft voice, some hesitation to speak still there but also a tinge of curiosity. Only now when the two were completely aware of each other's existence did the Mirror senshi notice the tingling sensation she received from him. Was it Order? It did not feel the same as the others she had met, and he didn't look like he quite fit in with the White Moon Court and their senshi. She tilted her head, not wanting to appear rude but also unable to find the answer on her own, as she asked him a simple question. "What are you?"

With his gloved fingers, he delicately stroked the petals of the orchid as he attempted to contemplate the meaning of the odd and vague question. There were many ways to interpret such a question, and if he had all the time in the world, he might have had food for thought to last him a while.
However, rather than attempt to second guess the meaning, he spoke up.
"...I am afraid I do not comprehend what is being asked of me, Miss."
He stood up and stepped forward, closer to this Dark Mirror Senshi, but still respectfully distanced. He folded his arms behind his back before continuing further.
"I am a young man, a son, a gardener, and an ally of order. I could be more specific if you are able to do the same, Miss Dark Mirror Senshi."

The beauty of the greenhouse was lost when the knight approached her, and despite finding herself enthralled with his appearance, she found herself taking a step back. He was quiet the looker and though he didn't appear aggressive with how he handled the orchid, he still radiated a vastly different energy aura than she did, and it was very strong, especially compared to hers. It was still wise to remain cautious and ready to flee, she reminded herself. Even if he expressed confusion from what she thought was a straight forward question.
Canopus looked up at the knight, waiting for him to finish speaking before she thought to offer him some clarity for her question. "All of those are impressive... but you mentioned an ally of order? Does that mean you're an ally to the White Moon Court and their senshi? An... ally of the Moon Queen?"
She wasn't sure if she liked that. It meant that he was an enemy, and it meant that she might have been in serious danger by entering the greenhouse this evening. But he did not strike against her or grow protective, so perhaps there was a way for them to part ways without bloodshed this evening? Canopus certainly hoped so... she never rose her hand against another and she certainly didn't think herself capable of doing so this evening... at least not against him.
Then it dawned on her, remembering a brief mention from her prince, and she asked, "Are you a Knight?"

Her questions received a series of nods.
"I prefer to think of myself as an ally to Neptune first, but I am all of those things you have mentioned, Miss Dark Mirror Senshi. I am an ally to the White Moon, to the White Moon's Senshi, and to the Moon Queen. As a Knight of Neptune, it is part of my responsibilities."
His hands remained politely folded behind his back and his posture was that of someone completely composed. With that light smile upon his lips, he offered an observation.
"I would venture to say, based upon your selection of questions, that you must be quite new at this, Miss Dark Mirror Senshi."

He confirmed her suspicions then, and that should have been enough to put the Dark Mirror senshi on edge. By default, he was her enemy and from the aura the permeated from his being, he was a very strong one, especially compared to her. And yet, the way he presented himself and his calming voice, he didn’t seem too terrifying or frightening. She was warned to remain on her toes around her enemy, but she couldn’t help but feel at ease with this one. Maybe it was her naivety getting the better of her, or maybe she was a romantic at heart and melted at the sight of an attractive young man, but any caution or fear was thrown to the wind now.
“I am… I guess I don’t do a good job in hiding it,” Canopus said, not bothering to lie or hide the truth since he seemed keenly aware of her inexperience. She tugged and fiddles with her golden bracers, unable to stop herself from fidgeting even though she didn’t feel she was in any danger. That had passed. Now? She was just a little shy, but curious. And maybe just a tad bit interested. “It’s nice to meet you then, Knight of Neptune. My name’s Canopus, senshi of Longevity.”
It wasn’t until after she introduced herself that she thought to genuflect and when she did so, it was rushed and clumsy. “So, is this your garden? Am I intruding?”

The newly introduced Canopus seemed honest, if anything. Her aura did a good job of telling the tale, but some of the lesser experienced let their ego get in the way and create bold proclamations in the process.
Where as her body seemed to fidget and fuss about like a child unable to get used to an itchy sundress, the knight's body remained constant, hardly moving from the composed arm tuck behind his back. The only thing that seemed to shift was his head at moments.
With his head he tilted to the right very acutely. "My title is Nysa, Miss Canopus. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
As she inquired about the greenhouse, he turned his head slowly to look about their surroundings. "I wish I could take credit for such a lovely collection of Flora, but alas, this is a public greenhouse. It is part of the Park property as I recall. I am always amazed by all the detail the gardening staff puts to plant life in this park." There was a genuine quality to the compliments he spouted out, something that seemed to have a hint of envy to it.

"Nysa? Pleasure's all mine." Canopus began to wonder if all knights acted this way or if she was simply fortunate to have met one of their best. The latter was more likely, otherwise she couldn't have understood why her Court would hold such great disdain for his kind. It was something that she probably should have inquired about before stepping out on her own, but it seemed that she'd have the chance to correct this later on, assuming his calm and pleasant demeanor wasn't all an act to trick her to drop her guard. One could never be too sure...
"So it's public property... which means I can come around as often as I'd like as well?" Part of her question was to see if this was part of any known territory areas between their warring factions, and had he declared this to be part of his turf, then she would have simply made note of it and apologized for intruding. However, his admittance to it being public property meant, in her mind, she was just as welcomed there as he was. Which meant... "Will that mean I'll see you again? You... don't mind that, do you, or are you going to insist that I don't come this way again?"
Essentially, she was asking if this would be a problem further down the road. Maybe it was and maybe it was wrong of her to look forward to the notion of seeing such a handsome fellow again in the future, especially if he was deemed an enemy to her Court... but a girl could hope.

"Yes," he said in an even tone. "It is indeed public property, so you would be able to return however many times you would like." Her inquiry about his own presence came across as shy, and had a hint of concern to it.
He was quite certain he had not stated anything in a manner which could have been deemed rude. However, intent and actual delivery could turn out quite differently.
"There is a chance you may see me again. There is a chance you might not. However, I have no say as to whether or not you decide to revisit the green house, since it is not my property." The city was large enough that there was a chance this was a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
Gently, he offered "I would not be opposed to another encounter in the future."

Somehow, that's all she needed to hear, and she hoped, beyond hoped, that her blush wasn't too visible on her cheeks when he said he wouldn't mind seeing her again. She knew she didn't have a chance with a guy like Nysa and that displaying such interests in someone who was deemed the enemy to her court would have likely been disastrous in the future, but she simply couldn't help herself. Nysa was far too lovely and kind for him to be an enemy... surely there had to be some mistake in how they were told to treat the knights!
"Well, I hope I do. Because you seem nice, and I'd like to see you again." Canopus wasn't lying when she said that. It wasn't just his kindness and appearance that she found herself swooning over, but the idea of learning more about this world that Prince Remarque introduced her to. Her Prince didn't seem opposed to the idea of talking to the other side, in the very least, so maybe there was a way for them to meet again. "I don't know too much about this war or anything, and I'm pretty sure I'll be pathetic in a fight. Um, might I ask a question... why do you think we're enemies, Nysa? Or do you not consider me an enemy?"

A girl's rosy cheeks were not something to comment on, even when observed. She seemed rather generous with the compliments, but eventually she got to a legitimate question.
"To be frank, I am actually a pacifist, so unless the Dark Mirror Senshi pose themselves as a threat, I will not act out aggressively towards your kind." Nysa had found the Negaverse to be far more of a threat, ever since he had been exposed to the General Painite.
"The motives of Chaos does intrigue me," he commented as he swept his hair to the side as he kept his gaze upon the chaotic senshi before him.

”Then we should get along nicely,” Canopus said, hoping that the redness to her cheeks were beginning to soften up so that talking to him would have been easier and less embarrassing. They were the only ones here and she had a feeling that he wasn’t the type to run to his friends and brag about how he made a girl blush. He appeared far too mature for that! Or maybe she was too taken in by him to think him capable of doing any wrong? The life of a hopeless romantic was rough…
“I’m rather harmless, I think. I don’t take energy, I ask for it, and if they say no, then I leave. I think of them as… donations. If everyone would just donate a little, we can use that to find a place of our own. Or make it, if we cannot reach the stars.” She wasn’t sure if that part was meant to be kept a secret, but if exposing a little bit of it to help dissuade conflict between both sides would help, then it’d be worth it, right? “Maybe others in my court take a more direct approach, but I won’t. I don’t physically think I can? The thought of hurting someone… I just don’t have it in me. Maybe if they were hurting a friend or an innocent first.”
Then she’d strike them down with as much force as her small body could muster. She’d do anything to save the ones she called family, even if it meant striking against Nysa someday. “You know, I think we can find some kind of understanding. Maybe knights have no use in our court, but I see no reason why we can’t coexist together. Am I naive, or do you think it’s possible someday?”

Though he was getting some interesting information from the girl, he didn't let on that any of it was new or useful. His gaze remained constant as the girl explained her viewpoints of the whole ordeal. When she asked about his opinion of her own viewpoint, he blinked his eyes shut and kept them closed for about 5 seconds as his lips curled for a smile.
"I do think you may be a touch naive... but that is not necessarily a bad thing." If his understanding of chaos held even a slight bit of truth, there could never be coexistence between the chaotic and those deemed as "useless" in pursuing the ultimate goal. However, if this girl sincerely wanted coexistence, allowing her to remain naive and preach the word of coexistence would be in his best interest.
With that, he bowed forward slightly, arm swept across his midsection as he moved. "I apologize, Miss Canopus, but I think it is time for me to take my leave."
As he straightened up his body, he extended a hand to the young lady.

That was disappointing to hear, but Canopus couldn't blame the knight for his opinion. He was, after all, more experienced and versed in this war than she was, so it was no surprise he felt that way. She was new and it was plain to see, but still, what else could she have but hope that someday there'd be a peaceful solution to this conflict? Prince Remarque seemed to think so, and so would she!
"Alright, well... thank you for being honest," Canopus said, hopeful still but some disappointment showing through. Maybe others were simply too jaded by what had happened in the past, but still, she held onto some hope, if she was the only one who felt that way in the end. "I'm sure I'll wise up eventually, but for now, I look forward to the idea of coexisting peacefully if we cannot find a place of our own."
And so formal about his departure! It was enough to make a girl blush and giggle, and had her dress been long enough, she would have thrown it over her face to hide it, before taking that extended hand and giving it a gentle shake. "Thank you for talking with me, Nysa Knight. I hope to see you again someday..."
It was time to part ways, and Canopus did so with a smile on her face. How interesting was this knight... were the rest like him, or had she lucked out? Her court seriously needed to re-evaluate their stance on knights if all of them were as charming as Nysa...
