"Um ... e-excuse m-me ..." Peklo attempted, barely above a whisper. The senshi she'd attempted to flag down continued walking past, as though Peklo wasn't even there.

"H-Hello would y-you-" Another one walked directly past.

Peklo flopped onto the stepped, more frustrated with her shyness than ever. Of course, it was her fault for being so quiet ... and shy ... and awkward ... and-

"Ooooh," she groaned, more to herself this time. Which meant it was even quieter. "I just wanted to ask anyone if they'd s-seen M-Miss-"

As if someone had magically answered her prayer, Chronos was there, only a few feet from her! Peklo panicked and threw her face in her hands. Oh no oh no oh no. What did she do?????

Peklo peeked from between her fingers at the figure, debating whether or not she should go seek Chronos' attention. On one hand, she could possibly be of assistance. On the other hand, she could be a burden.

What resulted was Peklo basically staring at Chronos very intently and looking kind of creepy about it.

Living in New York was an utterly different experience and was something Serenade Soriano had to slowly get used to.

In all honesty, she wasn't still quite accustomed to the bustle of the city, with high rise buildings towering around her. It was so different from Destiny City, where she had grown up in, but at the very least, she had adjusted enough to her class schedule to plan her visits to the Surrounding. What had been her home in her past life was still accessible to her and it was a comfort to be able to have an avenue to see her Court around and help restore the Surrounding.

It was also less stressful powering up in her room knowing that there weren't any Negaverse agents around, at the very least. At times, she still felt guilty for leaving when trouble still resided back home, but the decision had been made. At the very least, she was here, now, at the Surrounding, after a day of practice and class.

No sooner had she arrived that she noticed someone looking at her out of the corner of her eye. One of the Knights she rarely spoke to, oh what was her name again? Chronos furrowed her brow slightly as she thought, sifting through her memories. "Oh!" She breathed, turning around to beam at the page. "It's Peklo, right?"

Was Chronos looking at her?

Was Chronos looking at her???

Peklo very quickly stood up, unsure of what to do with herself. She then bowed over (far deeper than she needed to) and said, "H-H-Hi." Well it wasn't so much spoken as quietly stated. "I mean y-yes- I mean um..."

Now that Princess Chronos was so close, Peklo realized she was way over her head because Chronos was ten-thousand times prettier than everyone had said she was. Of course Peklo had heard rumors of the princess, but she had never actually seen the senshi. Peklo always hid away from the big meetings, always ducked out of hallways before she could be spotted and interacted with.

So instead she just sort of stood there bug-eyed, waiting for the princess to make the first move, because Peklo definitely wasn't leading this conversation.

"O-oh, you really don't need to..." Chronos started, hands outstretched to grasp Peklo's arms in an attempt to make sure she wouldn't fall. At the very least, she had gotten the name right; Chronos had been deathly afraid that she would slip up and forget names as she wasn't exactly.... active around in Destiny City any longer.

She smiled at the young page, pink wings fluttering as she attempted to make small talk. "How have you been? Is your Wonder around here?" The Princess paused, furrowing her brow. Where was Peklo's Wonder, anyway? "Oh dear, I don't think I remember where it is. I mean, I'm sure I should know, but I don't quite remember everything from the past just yet." Her memory of the past might have been much clearer than some others, but bits and pieces of it were still missing.

Chronos told her that the bow was too much, and it made Peklo figuratively sweat even harder. Oh no. She'd only just met the princess and already she'd messed something up. The princess probably thought she was a dunce now .... oh no ...

"I-I-I am okay. M-My wonder is over th-there," she said, pointing absently, then quickly lowering her arm. "I mean! Over in th-the west tower n-near Virgo's outp-post. You wouldn't be um ... able to see it from here ... or maybe you can ..." Did princesses have the power to see through walls? Peklo wasn't sure.

She nodded and said "It's a- um ... it's a meditating room um. V-Very quiet ... I l-like it." Peklo looked up at Chronos shyly, then back down to the ground. "Y-You're very welcome to visit any t-time you like, miss Chronos. Um, you d-don't have to or anything though um ... Sorry I didn't mean it like you have to come ..."

Oh, by Virgo's Outpost? Chronos peered over in the direction Peklo had indicated. "Well, I'm sure I would have seen it before. I mean, not in this lifetime, of course, but I suppose I would have, back then." After all, Serenade was a Virgo, and sometimes she had wondered if that was why she and Elke had grown close. Had she even been a Virgo in her past life though? Huh.

Her thoughts were starting to trail away, and the Princess shook herself out of it and turned her attention back to the Page. "It sounds nice. A place of serenity away from the battles we used to..." She paused mid-sentence. Reminiscing about the past when the present situation of the Surrounding was relatively peaceful was well... Chronos supposed that it was best to dwell on what was now, which was their current efforts at restoration.

"I'd love to see it." She smiled. "You'll have to lead the way though."

Peklo's eyes widened to the size of teacup saucers.

Miss Chronos wanted to see her wonder? Like ... right now???

Meekly, she stood up and bowed again (even though she really didn't have to) and began walking towards the Peklo wonder. Her steps were very small, and her eyes were scanning the ground relatively frequently.

"Oh um... r-right this way," she said quietly. "I still haven't m-met my ancestor um ... d-did you maybe know h-her?" She'd heard a lot about the ancestor thing from a few friends, but hers hadn't deigned to visit yet. Maybe she thought Peklo was unworthy? That was an upsetting thought ...

Honestly, Chronos was probably not the right person to ask about the subject of ancestors. Most of her Court that she knew were reincarnations of their selves that once lived upon the Surrounding, and her correspondence with Knights had never extended so far as to discuss about their ancestral relations. Still, she could guess; if those that once lived out in space had memory awakenings about the past, then it was possible to communicate with images of the past, right? Perhaps it was just like that image of Queen Serenity upon the Moon.

"I don't remember everyone, unfortunately." She said apologetically. "There are flashes in my mind of many people here, milling about; can you imagine that we once were filled with citizens, guards on duty, Knights coming back and forth from their shifts?" There was a brief flicker of a sad smile upon her face before she squeezed Peklo's arm reassuringly. "She will come to you when the time is right. I'm sure she was a nice woman, much like you."

Peklo's face fell as Chronos confirmed what she'd suspected. She was forgettable, even in the past. Well that wasn't so bad. It also meant she wasn't memorable for bad things either!

"Oh ... yes I'm s-sorry, I didn't mean it like th-that." Of course Chronos' memory would be foggy! It would be rude to assume anything else. Plus, she'd been complimented. Peklo was too busy blushing the brightest red known to man to be bothered by a small memory mishap!

Peklo pushed up her glasses and tried to hide her embarrassment by walking more quickly towards the door and (in the process) eventually reaching her destination. She put a hand on the old wooden doors (which were ten- twenty times larger than Peklo) and pushed. The doors creaked and moaned with defiance and age, but eventually they were open wide enough for the twosome to walk though. "Um ... you first m-miss Chronos."

"It's quite alright." Chronos flashed Peklo a smile. "I know others that don't remember quite as much as I do. Flora always grumbles that she's only had a few flashes of specific events, but-- ah, we're here." How long had it been since she had stepped into the Virgo Outpost in general? Truthfully, she had been spending much more time restoring the Castle; the rubble that had been obscuring the path from the library to the Temple had finally been cleared.

"It's lovely here." The Princess said, spinning around to take in all of it. There was never a time when she wasn't awed by the history in the walls, the structures and everything that was left of the Surrounding.

Peklo held her breath as the princess examined her room, unsure of what the princess was going to say. She truly hoped Miss Chronos would be proud of her room, even if it was somewhat disorderly and empty.

Yet Hearth Peklo seemed to radiate warmth and affection. The sound of a tiny brook that ran through the room babbled aimlessly, unaware that such an important visitor was present. As the knight Peklo held her breath, it seemed the entire room was squeezing itself tighter, as though it was a rag being wrung free of the water inside of it.

When Chronos complimented it, Peklo released every bit of tension, even smiling gently as the princess spun in a light circle. Peklo couldn't think but admire how pretty Chronos looked when she spun around like that! The entire action gave a light blush to her face, but all she meekly said was, "Oh th-thank you. You're w-welcome to come any time you l-like."

She reached down to pick up one of the man cushions that sat on the floor and squeezed it close to her chest. "It's v-very comfortable here, I think. I feel so at home ..."

It was interesting to visit a Wonder, actually. All Chronos could vaguely remember was that Knights drew their names from the place they had pledged themselves to. Never before in this lifetime had she visited one; she might have spent a lot of time on the Surrounding with the restoration efforts but she certainly thought it rude to barge into such a place without prior permission. "Oh, I'd love to come by, whenever you're around, of course."

She realized just then how woefully ignorant she was of Knights and their lore in general. "Well, it is your home, of sorts. Like a second home away from the one we have on Earth. Sometimes I go to my room up here and it just feels so familiar. I've even done some of my homework up here." It probably helped too, that the girl that once lived a life up here had a piano among her possessions.

Peklo nodded, feeling resonance in Chronos' words. She always did feel more at home here in her wonder. It was so quiet that she didn't feel quite as timid, quite as sheltered. Heck, she was talking to the Princess without cowering under the pillows- that enough was proof of its effects!

"Yes um ... It always feels nice up here ..." She gasped when Chronos mentioned homework. "You do homework?"

It just seemed so ... normal. She would've thought princesses did ... princcessy things!! Not normal people things.

Chronos merely blinked and tilted her head slightly in response to Peklo's surprised outburst. "Um, of course! I mean I certainly don't really do math homework anymore since I graduated from Crystal but I still get homework from my music professors."

The princess sat primly upon a cushion, carefully smoothing out the wrinkles in her dress. "I have to do a lot of composing homework for music theory class and well, I have a keyboard in my dorm room, but it feels a lot more... natural to play on an actual piano, and there's one up here..." At this, Chronos stopped and smiled brightly up at Peklo, ba sheepish blush crossing her cheeks. "I'm sorry, I get a bit carried away when I talk about music."

Peklo gasped, astonished that Chronos would need to do any work that wasn't absolutely princess-related. Then again, the idea of Chronos sitting at a piano and playing beautiful works of art was elegant and beautiful, just like she imagined Miss Chronos.

"Oh my ... that is so beautiful, princess!" she said, eyes sparkling with wonderment and awe at her princess' abilities. "I hope that one day I could hear one of your songs ..." If Peklo were to guess, she was going to bet that Princess Chronos played the most beautiful songs in the universe.

When Chronos said she was getting carried away, Peklo realized she'd been keeping Chronos from her important duties! "Oh no, no, no! It was my fault entirely. You must have a lot of work, um, I didn't mean to keep you or anything-"
