Zak paced back and forth back stage waiting for it to be his turn. He was in his 'formal' traveling gear. This was the first time he's ever done something like this so he was a bit nervous. Plus he and Frea didn't get much practice in their routine. He knew exactly what they were doing, so did Frea, but what worried him the most was if it would work out like they practiced it. Closing his crimson eyes the boy took a few deep breaths trying to calm himself. It was at that time when he was called on stage. "Alright here goes nothing," He muttered to himself.
Upon reaching the stage Zak paused taking in the entire crowd. This was nothing like Stadium battles, there it was just the battle, here he had to please the crowed and the judges. "We can do this," he spoke under his break trying encourage himself. Taking Frea's pokeball he enlarged it in his hand then tossed it onto the stage. "Frea take the Stage!" he called out.
Frea emerged from the light of her pokeball in mid-air, doing a somersault right out of the ball and onto the middle of the stage. As her paws made contact with the stage the eevee gave a small bow to her audience "Eevee" she greeted them. Good, the entrance was spot on, now for the rest of the routine. As time past he focused only on Frea and him, his confidence returning with each passing second.
"Excellent Frea!" he called out to his eevee, "Lets start with a Wish" beginning the rest of their routine.
In one swift movement the Eevee sat back on her hunches and her front paws came up like in a prayer and her brown eyes closed. "Eeee" she concentrated her fur starting to sparkle slightly. However in the end it seem that the move was a dude, leaving the audience baffled. Yet, baffled they seem like they were on the edge of their seats, wondering what the two had planned for them.
"Good Frea! Now Shadow ball into Swift. Just like we practiced!" he called out.
Frea's eyes snapped open as she launched a series of shadow balls into the air over the entire stage. The balls of purple darkness spun causing darkness to cover the entire arena. Then came the blinding light of swift, each star from Frea's mouth hit its mark, one of the shadow balls. As the light stars hit the other attack they shattered breaking in to hundreds upon hundreds of pieces. Each piece glowing in the darkness, sparkling like the starry night of a clear night's sky.
Last but not least came the eevee's wish. The shooting star rode through the darkness of the arena then fell into the eevee at center stage. With a blinding flash the darkness vanished leaving only the sparkling light brown eevee in its wake.
The crowd was silent, in awe of what had happened before them, then the clapping and the cheers started. Frea gave yet another bow as the last of her sparkling fur vanished "Eevee."
Zak was in awe himself, it had worked, it actually had worked perfectly. Frea was born for the stage and he could see that very well now. The trainer was quite glade he had decided to try something new. "Great job Frea" he called out to the Eevee over the noise of the crowd. Now the wait was on, to see who went on to the battles and who didn't make it.
