Chalk it up to some odd form of nostalgia as to why Acrucis was at the park this evening. Not the normal neighborhood one she tended to frequent as of late - No... She was at THE park - where she was awakened several months ago, where she met Shangri-La and Sheena, near where the Shade Queen was defeated.

This was the one place she had been trying desperately hard to avoid, if only because of Shangs warning and this was the area where the student she had found with Thraen was initially injured and later that evening...killed

So why come back... after being so good for so long? Though the answer came simply enough, it was also complex for even her to understand "This is where it all began." This is where life changed again - be it for better or worse was yet to truly be determined but at the very least this was where she was given a purpose

The weather outside was rather windy, patches of stars could be spotted peaking through the darkened clouds. According to the weather station there was no rain in the forcast for the evening, so far they'd been right it hadn't started raining yet. However as many people soon realize after watching the weather channel or looking up predicted weather forecasts online is that they were normally wrong anyway.

Wrapped in her dark blue fleece blanket - the same one she had been diligent to bring with her out on patrols with it being so frigid outside, Acrucis walked along the paved path past the swing sets into the wooded area. Ever vigilant on being aware of her surroundings, making sure she kept tabs on any signatures that may come within range - be it order or chaos -, she hesitantly proceeded forward into the dark away from the lamp lit path.

The surrounding trees provided much needed reprieve from the gusting winds. Yes some still snaked their way through the woods causing her blanket to billow behind her but for the most part it was less frequent than if she were out in the open. A ray of moonlight peaked out after a few moments of complete darkness, weaving its way though the naked deciduous tree branches. Off to her right something twinkled in her peripherals - a light being reflected off something.

Curious, the Senshi of Prayer approached the object - a full length mirror with a wrought iron frame sat propped against the base of a large tree "A mirror?" why would there be a mirror... a nice one at that, out in the middle of the woods? Wouldn't someone just come steal it? While one hand held the blanket tightly around her, Acrucis reached out with her other, running her fingers over it's cold smooth surface - checking to see if it had been damaged.

Standing straight up she withdrew her hand back into the warmth of the blanket such a strange thing to find out here...

Remarque had kept himself fairly busy; not too much that he couldn't balance his life. He spent more time powered down than he did up, but it didn't stop him from getting out to do his business. He had other places in Destiny City that he frequented—dark alleyways for energy, more often than not—but it was hard to keep him out of the park.

It was a place of comfort—and oftentimes, the best place to find senshi to speak with.

He wasn't entirely sure what his purpose for coming out tonight was, be it looking for an ally to catch up with, or someone to fight, or someone to awaken or corrupt…

But he was out.

He had spent a bit of time in Mirrorspace, doing a patrol there just to make sure nothing seemed amiss, and then he stepped through a mirror into a comfortable location in the park. Or, at least, he would have, had he not made it halfway out of the mirror before realizing there was someone right in front of it.

"Hey," he blurted, a bit startled; it was as much of a hasty greeting as he could muster as he stood, half in and half out of the mirror, trying to determine which direction he should be going.

Fear is one of those things that manifests itself in people at varying levels. Where one person might jump in fright, another might scream; some people lash out in violence while others simply run away or in a worst case scenario... faint.

Acrucis' body on the other hand seemed to not want to make up it's mind when an almost obscured image manifested itself in front of her. Cerulian blue eyes went wide in shock, her face paled considerably while her mouth opened and shut like a fish out of water.

Oh... my.... God....

Like a scene pulled right from the commercials for The Ring, a person emerged from the surface of the mirror, and his aura just as ominous, befitting of the circumstances sending waves of fear up her spine. Memories as a kid being told ghost stories of Bloody Mary, how saying her name in front of a mirror in a dark room would invoke her and she would emerge to kill whomever called came flooding back in full clarity.

This... isn't... real...

Standing face to face with the man in the mirror brought those laughable memories to a startling reality, staring into blue eyes that mirrored her own, the sound of his voice, like the sound of a cracking whip in a silent room, brought her back to the here and now.

T-this isn't happening...

"Nononono" People coming out of a mirror or glass whatever never ends well... Without thinking, Acrucis brought her hands up in a defensive manner intent on shoving him the rest of the way back through the glass from wince he emerged in the first place. Go away....

It took Remarque all of a split second to identify the situation as Acrucis' hands shoved against his chest.

The first realization was that a basic senshi thought it would be a good idea to lash out with force. At him. Had he not caught the expression on her face, he might have had to deal with her, but the look of pale shock remained very fresh in his mind.

The second, that he was falling backwards. Quickly, in fact, back into Mirrorspace.

The third was that he had a fistfull of fabric and wasn't entirely sure what was connected to it. He was tumbling back into mirrorspace knowing only that he was clutching something tightly. He gripped it firmly; he wasn't going to fall down—not without trying to do something to soften that blow.

Apparently even if that meant dragging the senshi into Mirrorspace with him.

He had gripped the fabric at the front of her outfit as soon as he was pushed off balance, yanking her through the mirror with him. He hit the hard ground of Mirrorspace, landing primarily on his elbows. His grip of the girl loosened, though not before the nagging voice in the back of his head decided then to tell him that it probably wasn't going to be a good idea to yank the girl through the mirror just so she could land on top of him.

The bright white of Mirrorspace did nothing to blind him; he had just come from it and was used to the bright white walls. A faint layer of smoke danced across the walls they clung to. The room they had landed in was large, though seemed incredibly barren; there were a few mirrors, though there was nothing particularly amzing about them. Some seemed sort of hazy, as though they were filled with smoke, though it was entirely possible that the room was playing tricks on the eyes.

There seemed to be only one set of doors out of the place—large, towering doors, ominous and foreboding. The smoke seemed to spiral around them, seeping into the cracks.

Mirrorspace, to anyone who hadn't been there before, could be quite a sight to take in.

Remarque, however, had been there far too many times to care about this room.

"Excuse you," he huffed, sitting up right shortly after landing. "Didn't your mother teach you any manners? It is incredibly rude to push someone. Ugh," he muttered, rolling away from the girl so he could push himself to his feet. "Now look what you've done," he continued, taking great effort to brush himself off. "All you White Moon Senshi are the same. So much trouble, I don't even know why I bother. You ought to apologize, unless you want me to leave you in here so you can think about what you've done."

Natural instinct was to run the opposite, so why in the bloody hell was her body doing the exact opposite and going toward...oh no... into... oh crap ... the mirror? Acrucis squeezed her eyes shut expecting to find herself with a face full of mirror shards upon impact with the glassy surface.

Body stiff with anticipation of impending mirror shattering she became overwhelmed with the sensation of freefalling off a cliff, a feeling not unlike the dreams where your perpetually falling forward towards the jagged rocks below just to wake up startled. Two problems though; one, she was fully awake; and two, she definitely didn't land on rocks.

Though she didn't fall to her eminent death, having been kneed in the side was no less pleasant. Air rushed out of her lungs, she grasped at her side and rolled to the left as whatever it was... whomever it was wormed his way out from under her. Ow she struggled in a few short breaths Ow. It took a second to finally breath normally and to open her eyes - yet another thing she was ill prepared for. She was really beginning to see why the park was such a bad place to patrol.

The sheer brightness of the room was blinding for someone who had just been standing outside. Like getting up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and turning on the lights... but worse. Eyes just don't adjust that quickly...

Disoriented, Acrucis squinted her eyes at the dark figure that stood in such perfect contract to their surroundings, desperately willing her eyes to focus. Oh she heard what he said, calling into question her manners and such. Unfortunately as circumstances would have it she just couldn't respond with how overwhelmed she was by her current predicament and strange surroundings. Wide blue eyes scanned the white walled room, taking in the sight of various mirrors hanging on the walls with mist all around I'm definitely not in destiny city anymore

Looking back at the dark outfitted, yet rather colorful senshi, Acrucis mind went blank for a few seconds before taking off with a million and one questions. Much like just a few moment before she opened her mouth to speak, which would have come a lot easier if her mind wasn't going a mile a minute.

"Bu" but I didn't do anything

"Yo" You popped out of the mirror at me

"I" didn't mean to.

"I-I " I'm sorry

"Where?" are we?

For a moment longer, Remarque looked at the girl, one brow arched as he awaited a response. When it seemed like she was having too difficult a time comprehending, he just huffed and crossed his arms over his chest. "Whatever," he muttered, and turned as though he were going to leave, just a split second before he extended his hand to the senshi.

She didn't seem like she was any harm, and her response might not have been as intentional as he'd first assumed. He wasn't going to forgive her for pushing him to the ground, but neither was he going to stand around and berate her. She hadn't started a fight, and while he could have easily continued trying to scare her (and probably succeeding) he had to chastise himself that scaring one senshi—especially one who didn't seem that intimidating—wasn't going to help the Court.

"Relax, I'm not going to leave you here. Come on, get up," he grumbled. "You know, not many senshi get the opportunity to see Mirrorspace. You're sort of lucky. I'm Remarque," he introduced. "What should I be calling you?"

Just as he turned his back to her, Acrucis' panic level went through the roof. Thankfully, before she had to resort to begging him not to leave, he turned back around and with an outstretched hand offered to help her up.

Tentatively she reached out with a shaky hand half expecting to pass right through him. Despite the fact she had just fallen right on him, reinforcing the fact he was very much real, you could never be too sure with how this night was going.

With his help she rose to her feet like he had more or less commanded of her, though truth be told if he expected her to walk they'd both be s**t out of luck because that's just not happening at the moment. Standing was one thing, walking quite a different story.

Acrucis withdrew her hand from his, tucking a few strands of stray hairs behind her ear in a nervous manner she replied to his question "A-acrucis, m-my name is Acrucis." She nodded her head and forced some semblance of a nervous-greeting type smile - a silent nice to meet you. Words, unfortunately, were still more or less loss on her, something there was little to be done about till she calmed down a bit more.

Once again her eyes wandered around the room, this time in less shock but more wonder "Where are we?" she inquired. He called this place Mirror Space but that didn't really mean much to her... was it like Babylons wonder? A place on another planet? Were they still on earth or somewhere else entirely?

"Acrucis?" Remarque asked, testing the name. "Pleasure. You're in Mirrorspace," he repeated, hoping the name would sink in. "It's the space between mirrors. Dark Mirror Senshi, like myself, are capable of travelling from mirror to mirror, and stopping here. It's a nice place, away from all the troubles of the world. All the fighting. Got a lot of places to explore."

He looked across the room at a door that was there now but hadn't been when they first entered. He didn't think Acrucis would notice.

Mirrorspace was a strange place, and while he spoke praise for it, he didn't trust it.

He didn't trust anything he didn't understand.

Remarque had seen enough of Mirrorspace to know that it wasn't what it seemed, and considering the issues with the wraiths they'd seen a few months ago, he wasn't quite sure how much time he wanted to spend in here.

He continued, "Only Dark Mirror Senshi can get in or out. You getting here in the first place is a fluke. We don't usually bring people down here. Too many untrustworthy White Moon Senshi, you know? Never know who to trust. There are probably plenty out there who would love to take advantage of our hospitality and try to tear things up."

Looking at Acrucis, Remarque seemed rather serious. "But you're not like that, Acrucis, are you?"

Acrucis turned to follow his line of sight, curious what he was looking at a door?. Eyebrows furrowed with a questioning expression she then turned back to the Eternal Dark Mirror Senshi. Or at least she presumed he was eternal given the black wings on his fuku that in a sense mirrored Tsui and Maia among the other Eternals she had met thus far.

One thing he said though hung in her mind 'Only Dark Mirror Senshi can get in or out' It was the out part that bothered her slightly. His chaos powered aura felt so magnanimous compared to her own; stifling in a sense especially when confined to a white walled room. Acrucis, however, continued to listen as he spoke for she held no comment with regards to the untrustworthiness of other senshi, however when the implication had been direction onto her she shook her head and replied "No, I would never..." The look on her face in no way betrayed the sincerity of her words, rather it begged from him an amount of trust new acquaintances seldom offered one another, especially when on opposite sides of the war such as the one they were fighting.

"I'm sorry," she finally found the words to apologize; an attempt to extend the olive branch in hopes he would accept "I shouldn't have shoved you back through the mirror." Her gaze flitted downward, ashamed of her instinctual reaction upon seeing him emerge through the mirror's surface. "I was startled" a rueful smile then pulled at the corner of her lips.

Drawing in a deep breath, having finally fully calmed down, Acrucis winced slightly from her undoubtedly bruised side. A thought had briefly crossed her mind, one that had her momentarily considering using her renew on herself, but ultimately let it go for now. "You had said Mirror Space is the space between mirrors. Does that mean we're still technically on Earth then?" It was a question that for some reason bothered her greatly. Wonders were on planets, and she apparently had a homeworld on the star from what her senshi form was named after. What of this Mirror Space?

Remarque's gaze slid from the white walls he was so accustomed to over to the senshi. She was asking a question he hadn't quite asked himself, and one that he didn't quite know the answer to.

"You could say that," he replied, not missing a step. "But I suppose it would be more accurate to say it exists between all mirrors. Once, years ago, Ares—that is, the woman who founded the Court, attacked the Surrounding in an effort to save nearly sixty civilians the senshi had abducted and were holding there. She intended to destroy their ranks and break their spell, but the only way she could get to the Surrounding was through a Mirror. I don't know where the Surrounding is, exactly, in Space, but it's certainly nowhere near Earth."

He shrugged. "So I suppose it depends on how you want to interpret it. Mirrorspace is both on Earth and not. We're only a step away from Destiny City, after all. Well. I am. You're a bit further from it. But," he sighed, perhaps for dramatic effect. "I suppose I won't hold it against you for shoving me through the mirror. It was an accident, so I suppose there's no point in holding a grudge. But, the next time anyone tells you the Dark Mirror Court is bad news, you remember that I hold no ill-will against you. I could leave you trapped in here, or beat you to a pulp, but I won't. Do you know why?"

He prompted, crossing his arms over his chest as he watched her.

The question was rhetorical; he didn't wait nearly long enough to give her time to respond. "Because that's not what we do. I've heard so many senshi, so many knights, mislead by those who despise the Court. There are senshi, you know, who paint us out to be monsters. Abominations. Menaces, to this planet. But we aren't, and I hope the next time you hear someone say that, you remember that I am no different than you, and that when given the opportunity to do what I would to you, my interest was only for educational purposes. Because, whether or not you or your Court chooses to accept it, I care quite a bit about your well-being. Now, do you want to continue looking around Mirrorspace, or would you feel better back if we continued this back in the park?"
