ＲHODODENDRON is a reserved, haughty young woman who frowns at anything meant to motivate her to make something of herself. Spoiled, snobbish, opinionated, and hypocritical, Rhododendron has few likes and makes her dislikes known. Rhodendron's dreams, however, are anything but landed; she loves fictitious grandeur. All Rhododendron wants out of life is to to have things she enjoys from fiction to be realized. Secret gardens and exotic menageries--she wants to own them all; she cares little for who her suitors are, so long as they could satisfy her childish hopes and dreams. Outside her life goals, however, Rhododendron is anything but an idealist. Pragmatic and self-serving, Rhodie firmly believes in leverage, shortcuts, and simplicity. If there's an easier method to accomplish something, Rhododendron would choose such method in a heartbeat. Yet, her practical side is always at odds with her competitive nature. As she matured into adulthood, Rhododendron wanted nothing more than to "outdo" the other aristocratic women around her. She never exerts too much of her own efforts, but, instead, through the unconditional love of those around her. It's not so much that Rhododendron is cruel, but that she cannot conceptualize the idea of hard work and selflessness. ASCLEPSIAS, unlike his Chosen, pines for a higher sense of purpose. He wishes that his Chosen treated him less like a fairy tale pet and more as an intelligent equal. Despite his Chosen's attitude towards him, however, Aseclepias is still nonetheless proud of being her truest friend. Blindly loyal and slow-witted, Asclepias is easily swayed by his Chosen's ideals and actions. He sees her as someone worth following not because of what she does, but because of what she doesn't do. It's genius, to Asclepias, that someone could achieve so much by doing so little. Asclepias therefore accepts his Chosen as among the best and the brightest, which in return, makes him feel some sense of self-worth as her Guardian. Docile and understanding, Asclepias provides company to Rhododendron's otherwise lonely life, and gives her companionship that she secretly enjoys very much.
