Residing within the Citadel's inner ring, the Presidium can be considered to be the main diplomatic sector of the station. C-Sec/Spectre offices, council and non-council race embassies, and even the entrance to Citadel Tower can all be found here as well as the historic Huerta Memorial Hospital. High end shopping and services are also known to adorn the Presidium.

It was a typical day on the Presidium. The 'sun' was shining and as usual, everyone appeared oblivious to the Galaxy beyond this station and it's still unknown threats.
"Defeat one and two more rise" he was always told.

He never quite thought it would hold true though.
Browsing the extranet and nursing a very large cup of coffee, his eyes wandered aimlessly. They would not be aimless for long though.

It took only seconds for the Extranet to be hijacked by the news and as it took over, the video feeds opened to reveal not only a state of emergency, but a full coup' d'état.
A coup' d'état that even he couldn't anticipate.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the worst part. Due to his rough night and even tougher morning, his focus and sight were lacking but he none the less tried his best to identify the enemy as best he could.

Focusing on the man upfront he noted that he not only looked familiar.. He sounded familiar. He seemed familiar.
As he spoke though, his voice was drowned out by the mass panic that was spreading like wildfire and it wasn't till the end of the speech when he heard anything at all; too bad what he heard made his heart sink.

"A Golden day for Cerberus! A golden day for Humanity!"

It wasn't about what they said though that scared him. Cerberus was beaten long ago. It was who, that made this personal.

Bai.
An old friend, greatest rival and now, powerful enemy; Now stood at the head of the Cerberus Armada and although he was its face, he knew that psycho couldn't truly be its leader.

Then 'boom'.

Impossible to miss and on the presidium, almost impossible to avoid, was the complete destruction of the CDF's Destiny Ascension.
For those on the wards, the light would be near blinding and for those on the presidium, they'd be lucky to survive..

It wasn't hard to imagine what happened next as the station shook violently for the first time in 400 years.
The Wards would hold strong but the explosion was devastating either way. Sections of the Wards collapsed mercilessly and in doing so not only trapped thousands but more then likely, also killed millions more.

It would be the Presidium that would take the most damage...
Due to the Destiny Ascensions angle and position of the bomb inside, the main force of the explosion was directed outward towards the main body of the station with unmatchable force and no sooner did pieces of the former Destiny Ascension connect with the Citadel than the lights went out and everything went black. At least, for Daniel they did.

User ImageGwen had been wandering the corridors of the citadel the last hour or so and had yet to find her target. Already she was getting sick of the aggressive bullshit a few of the inhabitants had tried to push upon her. It was rare that she would take on a task such as this one and she was damned if she didn’t complete it. An informant from the docking levels had told her that her target would be down below conducting their business as usual around this time. If she was lucky she would catch the Salarian scum and his partner before they escaped once more. It had already been two months and Gwen could feel that today was the day. As she turned the corner a standing in her path was a single vorcha guard. She recognized the logo on his suit, he was one of Kanes. “Get lost” he responded as she came to a stop in from of him. Looking up and meeting his blood red eyes Gwen smiled. “Actually I just found what I was looking for” she whispered before lunging forward with a dagger and gutting him. “No hard feelings I hope, all in the name of work” she continued before stepping over his body and heading down the rest of the corridor, towards the single unit that accommodated it.

Gwen had just reached the outer doors and could hear the voices of Kane and his associate. “Im telling you, this Geth tech is top notch as is this body. My contact informed me that the intelligence that used to occupy it joined with a Quarian a few weeks ago” Kane was saying. Shaking her head Gwen pulled out her HMWA X and a smoke bomb. Glancing around quickly to make sure no one else was present she lobbed the bomb into the room where it erupted quickly. Alarmed voices called out just before someone stumbled out gun in hand. Recognizing it wasn’t Kane she shot the Batarians left leg out from under him to subdue him temporarily. Kane however had not stepped out.

Gwen entered the room cautiously but to her dismay Kane was nowhere to be seem. His precious cargo however was still present. Walking over she inspected the goods and decided to slip a tracking beacon in that wouldn’t be easily found. With any luck when someone came back for it she could use it to find them and hopefully Kane. Shaking her head Gwen left the room and grabbed the Batarian and started to leave the when a giant tremor shook the Citadel and sirens started to screamed. Shivering she activated her comm’s only to be bombarded with information of a Cerberus attack. Taking one more look at the Batarian she cursed and shot him in the other leg. “I unfortunately do not have the time to deal with you. Let those wounds be a reminder of me the next time you plan to be doing business” she told him before walking away.

Gwen decided to take corridors that few dared to travel. Today seemed like one of those days that everyone would be scurrying around in the way and there was no doubt the elevators were down so she moved up level by level. Just as she had reach the Presidium Ally sent her a pre-recorded message “Gwen, this is Zero. This may sounds stupid but trust no one. Cerberus has infiltrated the Alliance. I also need you to check on Oni. He has yet to respond and his tracker is placing him at the Presidium still. But be careful, I hear not much survived.” Sighing Gwen pushed forward into an opening in the wall and swore. Ally wasn’t kidding. The air was filled with smoke and dust, rumble lay everywhere. People moaned and cried out in pain like some sick song. Gripping her gun she moved out searched. What seemed like hours later she found the Captain. Carefully she removed piece of rumble from him and cringed. He had a decent cut to his forehead, a gouge in his left leg where a bar had pierced it and several other injuries. “Daniel?...Oni?...CAPTAIN!” she yelled until he finally stirred. “Well it would seem you’re going to survive this part. Now we just need to make it back to Demon” she spoke with a soft laugh to soften her tone.

Daniel "Oni" Belcourt

Injured would be putting it lightly. He actually felt as if his body was broken into a thousand tiny pieces. It wasn't but the holes in his flesh didn't do much to persuade him otherwise.

Although there was so much panic and mass hysteria around them, even in the aftermath of what appeared to be the most brutal attack on the Citadel since the Reaper Wars, Daniel was remarkably focused on staying alert and aware.

At least, as much as he could. Thankfully, Gwen appeared. As if out of thin air. Although he knew she was there and could easily recognize her, the amount of pain he was in and the extreme injuries he sustained left him barely conscious. Let alone alive.

When she spoke he responded but all that came out of his mouth was a mumbled "Mhmm".

Unfortunately, after that, his minded faded away, absobed into the background noises that surrounded them. Gunfire and explosions, however loud or quiet, enveloped him as his mind embraced darkness once again and hopefully not for too long.

Money, women, and revenge...what more can a simple gentleman want.

Spoke a tall well built man as he fell out of the vents near a wounded Batarian as a female left the room. Alarms were blaring, muffling the groans of the wounded weakling, and causing he to check his omni-tool for some messages. "Relax buddy. I'll be with you shortly." He stomped upon the Batarian wounds as he tried to get up and walk away. This man was on a long s**t list that he kept and he wasn't about to let him leave in the mess that was ensuing.

"Cat...this is Agiha. The ******** is going on here! One minute I've having a nice conversation with my 'friend' and the next alarms are going off and my cover was always blown but some chick." "Agiha, not a good time...Cerberus attacking...infiltrated our ranks....living bombs...call when it's safe." Static was apparent as it seems someone was trying to jam the comms to prevent information from flowing to the right places. His omni-tool went off again as a new message arrived with Cerberus' stamp. He pulled out his pistol and shot the Batarian as he ran the message through his communication.

"Dear Agiha Morris, he would like to formally invite you to help Cerberus' righteous crusade to cleanse this galaxy of its impurities. Your records in the Alliance was very impressive and we could use people like you on our side. Of course, we'll pay handsomely for your handy work. We're looking forward to hearing from you shortly."

"Scums...I may not like Batarians, but I don't kill them senselessly." He closed the eyes upon his freshly killed prey and holstered his gun as he walked out the front door. Activating his camo, he quickly and quietly walked around the Diplomats' Offices though it was proving more difficult since the people were in a complete state of panic. He quickly slipped into the elevator as the doors were shutting and traveled in the crowded space down to the Presidium Ally to head to his 'borrowed' ship.

Eris' eyes opened slowly. It was quiet and to his horror, it was real. Everything he had gone through in his dream was real. Panic spreading under his skin, it was Dvidi's calming but cold autonomous tone that brought him back from the edge.

"It seems our patient is awake."
It stated.
"Eris, Spectre, Turian and one of two." It continued before kneeling down to his level and sharing a slight smile. A very metallic smile.
"Are you okay? Operative Eris?"

It was a funny question to answer and in these circumstances, he wasn't sure. Physically, he felt better. Mentally and emotionally, he couldn't begin to fathom the losses they actually sustained during this surprise assault.
"I'm good." He mumbled. His eyes straying off.
"Where are we?"

"You got me. It's probably why we're alive." Spoke the female from earlier. Lingering in the dark, her green eyes pierced through the shadows towards Eris. Her immediate blame being no respite from his own guilt, he looked back towards the metallic Salarian.
His gaze needing no assessment, the metal being gave his own opinion.
"I estimate we are somewhere between the Tower and the Zakera Ward on or near the presidium."
"You estimate? That's pretty specific." He questioned, Eris' irritation evident.
"As specific as I can be." It quipped before stopping as if a lightbulb had gone off.
"And my apologies. I'm Dvidi, Synthetic Extraordinaire and the lovely lady skulking would be Mila. We are.."
"..?"
"Your rescuers?"

His voice echoing off the metal plates. It sounded like a bad joke. Here he was, injured and as far as he knew, dead weight and they were all locked down in one of the stinkiest areas of the citadel. The vents.
He couldn't help but laugh, which only increased his already decent amount of pain.

"Then I hope you're not the only two." He stated, remembering only faintly, the man in black.

"We'-"
Someone began to say when a gunshot rang off. It wasn't far.
Just outside and down the hall, they were certain that the battle had moved away from their immediate location hours ago.
None the less, it made Eris' few hairs stand up on end.
He barely got out of the last situation he was in. Alive.

You could cut the tension with a knife. Even Dvidi felt it. Especially so in fact. The sensors under his metal skin reacting erratically, they could feel the target approach. Each step sending an increasingly powerful vibration towards the walking sensor, it unconsciously guides Dvidi towards the wall, directly opposite of the unknown entity and possible threat.
Upon Dvidi's self imposed obligation of investigation, it would turn out that Mila would play babysitter as she moved over towards Eris in a more defendable position if the worst was to happen.

Agiha groaned as he slipped though a hole in the vents following just behind a keeper. The quiet alien walked to the left to continue its work as if nothing is happening, while Agiha went to the other way to a closer keeper terminal and started to wave his omni-tool over it. Any information would be useful even if it meant that people were dying around him. He turned on his radio, scanning all channels to see what was going on across this Citadel and though there were a few channels that were disconnected, others provided something.

Screams of civilians, gun fire, and then silence. That was the most common sounds coming from several Citadel frequencies and the C-Sec chatter wasn't any better since it seemed they were fighting a battle inside their offices. Agiha groaned as this was looking quite grim for any means to escaped this doomed station. He doubt they would destroy such a useful place, but exterminating people wasn't exactly a fun thought to run through ones head. Then finally, he was able to enter a Cerberus channel. It wasn't very secure so it must be an announcement instead of a radio broadcast.

"We apologize for any inconvenience. We are here to eliminate any ships that might be harboring any aliens trying escape justice. And we will start by destroying any ships of alien origins." Agiha groaned hearing this because he's ship was 'borrowed' from a Turian patrol at his last mission. Now, that mean he would have to find another way to sneak into the docks and quickly otherwise he'll be trapped here unable to complete his own missions.

"Great, just....great. If I get out of this, I'm going to put a slug right between the head of Cerberus' eyes." He placed his omni-tool next to his ears as he started to scan again from any weak or encrypted signals that could be used against his opponents today. His ears did pick up some other life forms in the vents, but he dismissed them as people trying to hide from Cerberus as getting out of here was priority number one. However, he had his pistol at the ready in case they weren't just hiding.

You'll be lucky if the last thing you see is my laser upon your body.

User ImageWith a bounce to her step Ari meandered the hall ways and stair cases until she finally came across Bai. Behind her was a bloody trail filled with the corpses of multiple species. She also looked like she had bathed in the blood of her kills. Ari carried her M-22 in her right hand and a wicked matte black, five inch curved blade in her left. “So how did you like you song?” she called out casually as she downed a Turian with a perfect headshot that had been coming up behind Bai. She knew he would have handled it fine, not much could creep up on him.

Looking down at her blade a moment she decided to wipe the blood from it on the dead Turians uniform as she moved closer to Bai. “Think I may need to resharpen my blade again. All this metal and bone is dulling my baby’s edge” she commented while she sheathed the weapon and reached Bai’s side. “Everything seems to be going to plan” she replied as she reached her now empty hand up to light caress Bai’s face. With a smirk she kissed him quickly on the lips and stepped away. “So my count is fifty-two and rising. I am hopeful I can reach at least a hundred before the day is done” she remarked. She like Bai enjoyed a good slaughter, especially if it was alien in nature.

Her gaze was on Bai however she was fully aware of everything around them. She could hear the scurry of feet, curses and the moans uttered all around the Presidium. It sounded like sweet music to her on top of the epic sound track she had put together for the day. The day was long from over however. With a smile on her face she turned to the opening in the wall made from some blast. Blade in hand Ari moved without a whisper and took down an Alliance soldier trying to make his way out. “Fifty-three.”

It was now or never. Chances would be if they were looking, they found them and bypassing them would only be a tactic to catch them off guard. It was better to be safe then sorry Dvidi believed and with that, he reached back before slamming his fist through the wall in an attempt to grab their possible pursuer.
It didn't take long for him to grab something though and without caring to analyze it, pulled it through the wall. At this point, what it is or who is irrelevent. If they were a threat, they needed to be destroyed. It was a shame that they had to reveal their hiding place though

Agiha continued searched through the signals for any tactical advantage on leaving this stupid death trap that Cerberus set up for themselves. As he searched through most of it was filled with some music blaring and screams of people being killed or tortured. "Damn it." He muttered to himself as they don't seem to be talking to each other right now and it seemed more like an unplanned slaughter than a fill scale assault. "Give me something to work with you stupid piece of s**t....anything on Dock 4."

"There right there." He stopped on a weak signal as it seemed someone was finally speaking normally and not shouting or shooting. "That's a Turian scout." "Out here? Why? It's not like the Turians were planning an attack." "Don't know, but that means they'll be back and when they do we'll be ready." Success...it seemed some low intelligent soldiers found his ship but are planning to ambush the poor alien that would return to escape. Agiha chuckled as ambush and assassinations was his specialty.

"Fools...I guess I can get..." He was shocked that a fist came through the vent wall, trying to reach him and pull him through. "Bold...that's a new one, but you'll have to do better than that." He switched out his omni-tool for its blade and stabbed through the wall as well, hoping to catch whoever was his pursuer to get more information out of an unwilling Cerberus punk. "Come to papa, you waste of human flesh."

You'll be lucky if the last thing you see is my laser upon your body.
