Here in the center of Western Seireitei in the 8th Division lays one of the most sacred and holy grounds, only second in sanctuary to the Royal Palace where the Chief of Justice, Chief of War, and the Spirit King preside. It gives off the calmest feeling of being at one with oneself, as though serenity could be found here all of its own entity.

It is in this temple, that the Grand Monk prays to all the spirits of the world and basks in their presence. For those who are not used to being surrounded by spirits, this place is difficult to breathe and maneuver in. The experience is quite wonderful however, once the body is able to adjust. Here, spirits within zanpakuto separate from their blades and freely commune with their owners.

Kajira Rengaifuta
Hachibantai Taichō || Master Soothsayer || Diviner of Spirits
|| Soul Society's "Grand Monk" ||

Current Mood/Theme/Emotion: Escaping the darkness in his dreams.

"These eyes were innocent once...
________________________________________________________________________________________
xxxxxxHe placed his taichō haori on the floor beside him as he sat down in a knelling position on the mat. Bowing his upper torso and placing his two palms together, Kajira placed his head to the wooden floor before the massive statue of the Red Light which appeared before him. Clearly, he meant to worship this spirit, the great spirit, the Diviner as Kajira called it. He created this being, well the image of the being that is. It was really just a hollow, an empty soul that hungered for other souls. Kajira thought it would be ever so crude and quite strategic to have his fukotaichō Moromi Essui enter Hueco Mundo and bring back a bound defenseless hollow.

xxxxxxThe plan was simple. They would create a religion centered around this hollow called the Red Light. Then manipulating its many followers into visiting and "communing" with the Red Light directly on their great journey to the eternal Mists, they would be fed to the hollow causing it to slowly become more and more powerful. Kajira was fully aware of the power of a vasto lorde class hollow. The fact their spiritual power was greater than that of the average taichō was attractive enough. Kajira could unleash this vasto lorde to wreak havoc upon Soul Society and the many shinigami who had betrayed his innocence hundreds of years ago.

xxxxxxNaturally, this was only a distraction of course for Kajira's true plan. He sought to display his power over Soul Society. And what better way than to kill the Soul King? He would assassinate him in cold blood claiming the throne for himself and immediately would demand all taichō's surrender or be executed for treason. Of course, this was all one large grandiose plan in the making. While he was thinking long-term, he also thought short-term and what he really needed was money. Of course, Kajira was deceptive in his knowledge of how to earn money.

xxxxxxAfter a journey to the World of the Living, he had been fully aware of the value of money and how it represented ones power. In Soul Society, this was no different. If one sought to have special things, they had to have the necessary currency. Of course, Kajira was ahead of this already. A popular drug had been unleashed in the World of the Living called opium. It could be grown which made it something Kajira saw as a fine potential money gain. He ordered Essui to create crops through Central and South America in the World of the Living as well as a massive opium crop within their Division. On the other hand, Kajira also knew how to earn his way up high in politics. What else did men desire besides money? Sex. Airi, his third seat had been placed in charge of the brothel located in the Division. It was consider a gentleman's club, but really it was a clean brothel that raked in almost more money than the opium farm.

xxxxxxHe smiled, stretching his arms and his back as he stood up. He reached for his haori and located a nice spot against a nearby wooden wall to catch some sleep. He would awaken if someone came to bother him. Until then, he would sleep. How he needed it! So much plotting. So much strategy. And yet, he always forgot to get a full night's sleep. It often left him exhausted and overworked the next day. Perhaps Kajira was addicted to his working - addicted to his very hunger for more power that could not be satiated by simple means.

Essui Morumi ||[ LIEUTENANT ]||

The living skeleton made his way into the monastery he had come to call home, his new life here within the spiritual division was beginning to grow on him, mostly because his mentor and captain was so careless with how he spent his free time, which was mostly in the form of hounding women with his excessive wooing. The strangeness of the place never really went away for him, even now seeing all these devoted souls who worshiped their warped god, it made him feel sick. However a slick grin wet his lips as he couldn't help but enjoy the deviousness of it all, he loved the idea of so many fools ready to give their lives for what many of them vowed to kill in order to defend both soul society and the living world. Kajira seemed to be a king of broken men and women, Essui was broken but not in the sense the rest were, he was broken in the fact that his innocence was stripped from him long ago and now nothing was left, like skin peeled away to reveal the skeleton underneath all he was now was a monster.

He came into contact with the king of the broken and the damned rather randomly, the captain perching against a wooden wall presumably resting, what he had been doing before, even what he was dreaming about now were a mystery to the skull-faced man. He knew so very little about the man that captained his entire division, all he knew was that they were kindred spirits when it came to devilishly fun ideas, they couldn't resist. Taking his sword by the hilt he jabbed his sheath steadily into the gut of his accomplice attempting to promptly awake him from his slumber, the strange white grin still painted upon his face as his hazel eyes seemed rather dulled and uninterested. "Oi, Kajira-- what are you doing lazing around like an old fool?" he taunted, his lack of respect and honorifics being the usual, he never was much for seeing others as superiors. Still what Kajira had granted him was a gift he never overlooked, even if there was a lack of authority and respect the unspoken vows between the two gave enough volume to steady their relationship. Plus the young businessman took care of most the profits and relayed most news from their world and the human world to Kajira's ears. Essui was a very helpful person to have around, his abilities allowing him to leave soul society and the human world undetected by both parties. Teleportation was an incredibly useful source to carry, especially when illegal actions were being taken by the party to assure they would remain rich men.

As he pulled the sheathed katana from the elder's gut the ornate sheath jingled, the lieutenant badge tied around it sliding about as he slipped it back, attaching it to his waist once more. His dull expression returning as his sickly smile faded away, he felt especially horrible today, hating every last moment of this miserable existence, of course that rarely changed for him. It was tough being a shinigami who despised those around him and he himself for being a shinigami, they were all so pompous and acted very high and mighty, it was an arrogance he wasn't' accustomed to and didn't wish to be around, he would sooner cut down any man and woman who ordered him around then listen after all. At least Kajira understood this, he knew that in order to keep the younger fellow's full attention he needed to make sure there was something Essui was gaining from all his work as well, and what better thing to be given than money, lots and lots of money to be exact. Running just about everything in their little opium production the prodigal business was bursting, both legally in the medicinal area of soul society and illegal in the recreational use down on earth, a process that Essui would oversee personally, making sure the product made its way to earth safely and without delay for the loyal customers below.

xxxxxxHe sighed greatly as his peace and quiet had been ended. Serenity no longer having existed at that moment. "Well, if it isn't my favorite... Lieutenant Moromi-chan." Kajira leaned forward as he came to one knee and then stood up properly, turning to face Essui directly. "Moromi-chan, you interrupted my meditation. You know I don't like it when people interrupt my ******** meditation." Kajira unsheathed Jigokuhime in her sealed state. "I'm going to kill you Moromi-chan. I'm going to kill you dead." Kajira then slowly began to walk towards Essui, his blade aimed ready to strike. This was often the way the two greeted one another. It was difficult to tell they were actually very good comrades, let alone friends.

The Hood

In the shadows lay a secret; a hooded man with murderous indent. The Hood was very skilled in the art of reitsu and thus had perfectly been able to zero out and even completely mask his identity and presences. He kneeled up in the rafters as he watched the Captain knelled before his idol. The Captain then got in a position to fall asleep, murder would be easy. The Hood then saw the ugliest thing he had ever seen. A person who was ether a straight up corpse or was tattooed as one. As the two exchanged words and headed straight for each other The Hood decided to make his presence known. He waited til they were close to one another and then he unleashed a glowing reitsu arrow at the ground between them, once it hit it exploded violently sending reitsu everywhere like mid level Kido. The Hood then dropped from the rafters and removed his hood revealing the traitor known as The Hood, but names Hakora. "Well aren't you two the most ugly pieces of work I have ever seen. Who wishes to die first? How about the idol?!" His back was to the statue known as The Red Light. Without turning around The Hood moved his bow behind him and shot another exploding arrow with a backwards shot that not many could do heading straight for the statue's chest.

The corpse was rather delighted by the forceful manner of his elder companion, the man wasted very little time in unsheathing his blade and beginning his threats making for a great spectacle of sorts. Essui taunted his superior slowly, grabbing his blade by the three dark skulls on its hilt, each one seeming to smile at the opponent as he carefully and slowly removed his katana from its casing. His fingers wrapped carefully around the small indents in the skull and crossbones, a signature way of wielding the weapon, something Kajira knew well as it was a unique fighting style the elder helped perfect. His tongue snaked its way from his mouth licking his lips gleefully, wanting to fully embrace the oncoming bloodshed, even if most would be coming from his own veins. "Kajira, please.. you and your blade the queen of whores know that I can escape any assault" he howled ready for the daily struggle the two endured together, each new day came another battle often resulting in a tie or Essui's hospitalization. Today's battle however was abruptly ended before it could even start, a rather upsetting notion except the fact something more intriguing seemed to be beginning. Essu's deep golden eyes showed a kind of mesmorized glaze to them as the arrow landed at his feet intercepting the two from clashing. The quick reflexes of the young man allowed him to back step out of harm quite rapidly, his eyes instantly locking upon the hooded figure before them now, a new sort of sick smile covering his face.

His interest quickly turned to scorn as the man commented on the unappealing look of Essui's skin, his masterpiece being mocked by a lowly assassin made his blood boil. The man spouted such wishful crap he was surprised his mouth wasn't frothing with feces, he was sure if the figure let him get close enough he would be able to smell the s**t on his breath. "Forbid refuge, journey always into the depths of the unknown, Hōrō Kōtei" He wasted no time in the unmasking of his shikai, the blade in his hands growing twice its size into something more akin to a nodachi, the blade itself seemed to flicker in and out of existence as if it were stuck between two worlds unable to decide which one was more fitting. As the arrow was fired towards the statue the lieutenant was almost willing to let it hit, the man highly overestimating the value Essui put on such a stupid totem. However with such a simple and weak attack it would be disgraceful to him if he didn't stop it, it was so easily thwarted that he had to intervene in this little fancy act. "My appearance will be a welcoming sight compared to what's left of your corpse once I'm finished. Distortion." With that single word he was able to open a rift between his void world and the soul society, the portal of sorts revealed itself directly in front of the second arrow's path intercepting it and swallowing it whole before disappearing once again the altar still in one piece and the arrow's whereabouts soon to be revealed. It was always a guessing game when Essui activated this ability, he was able to open a second portal to release the object wherever he wished, and today he decided he would create the portal directly above the intruder. His own arrow came through the exit portal aiming straight for his head, if he wasn't able to somehow sense the oncoming surprise attack his skull would be pierced and presumably blown off if his arrow was to detonate as it had before. Not knowing the identity of this foolish stranger neither wanting to the lieutenant decided he was of no use alive and might as well be dispatched with ease by the eighth division during his little fiasco here.

[ Distortion: By making a rift between his current world and the void Essui is able to open two separate portals, the first being created in front of him, able to absorb any incoming projectile attacks, sucking in all that crosses its path. The second portal is delayed in activation only opening after the first had absorbed an ability of some kind. This second portal works as a mirror sending whatever had been swallowed back into the current world. The portal itself is able to erect wherever Essui deems fit in a radius of 250ft around his person. This ability works on every type of projectile attack no matter the power behind it.]

Tachibana Hinata

Shinigami
Squadron 12

Hinata was in that most feared state of mind, the one which was always ended up with her taking drastic action to avoid it: boredom. She had no patience for having her mind run on empty. It felt more like a pain, a physical disease than a mental affliction, no matter what she tried. It was almost as if the voices of her own consciousness bothered her too much with their incessant comments resulting in her need to continuously drown them out with one or another engaging event, action, or problem.

She had decided to use her time off of duty to wander around the still unfamiliar ground of the Seireitei. Hinata looked about curiously as she entered this ground, wondering if she had not been here before, but then decided she had not. But she was not sure. After all, things always changed after one left, no? Who was to say that the place you left a minute ago would be the same when you returned after lunch?

It was a constant dilemma she wondered about when she could not shut the voices in her head up. That, and whether penguins had knees. This last one had kept her up the whole night that other day...

Upon seeing three men in some sort of fracas, or melee, or whatever, Hinata stopped in her tracks and watched them keenly, her usual intense curiosity getting the better of her. She had no idea who these people where, but her usual craving for information made her decide that she would find out. They looked interesting enough.

"Oh," she said, waving a hand and looking slightly embarrassed, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I don't suppose any of you could tell me if cheese has a blue or green taste?"

Saying this, Hinata was far from doing nothing but chattering inane words. The best way, she had always held, for gauging a possible opponent was to put them into a completely impossible or inane situation and see how they reacted. It was not only entertaining, but it offered a look inside the person. Hinata liked taking things apart and analyzing them at her own leisure. It was a fun game and it certainly beat walking about in boredom even if it was obvious these people were far greater in power than she was.

When it came to curiosity, personal safety was rarely, if ever remembered.

She looked at Rengaifuta, whom she deemed to be some sort of leader here as it was not he who had moved to intercept the attack.

"I don't suppose you could tell me, Taichou-sama?" She asked more directly,

"I tried 'normal' once, and I swore never again..."
