Hey, another thread. I hate myself already.

I watch the threads, and I see people giving their solid opinions on the matter, saying we should do this or do that...

I'm not gonna waste much of your time here, making huge paragraphs of words doesn't help at this point. We know how to handle the drama, we know how to deal with s**t. But are we really committing to it?

If you want to voice an opinion, feel free. Marxx's thread is filled with valid opinions on the topic though. People are getting stressed over nothing, and I'm sick of it. What started out as "Hey, I don't like a few changes you guys are making to the guild," which was a civil discussion for the most part, spiraled into egos smashing into eachother. It's always bizarre how it happened.

This isn't an attempt at the "No Bullshit Contract" because a lot of us don't start s**t around here. I'm not asking those that do to sign here either. This thread is simply one stating that as a community, we are -trying- to make s**t work. We are -trying- to get along and be friendly. Like the good ol' days.

If you see a heated fight, let them duke it out. It doesn't hurt you, and you have no need to defend someone that can defend themselves.

If you have beef with someone, why post it here? For support? You don't need it. Take it to the PMs.

If you're bored and wanna start drama? Play the Sims. Keep it outta here.

None of us are perfect, we'll all start s**t or be involved with drama at some point. This isn't saying what we should do to fix the guild and community... this is just saying that we're trying. As long as we remember that, what harm is there in stating an opinion? Just support the community. RP, have fun, do what you want. Just try. That's all I ask.

Better idea
Lock every single topic, get rid of everyone
Even the crew
Let this guild die

Brings too much bullshit regardless of anything people say or do.

In other words "lets take all the bullshit, and push it somewhere else."

Changing locations won't change anything. Its simply shitting in a new toilet.

I see it as this, the other social guild doesn't have ANY bullshit at all whatsoever
aside from one post of mine
Hiro and Angel and all the problematic people are there
Yet are we bickering?
Is there one negative thing said, any mud flung?

Nope, regardless of me being crew
Matt wouldn't hesitate to demote and ban me.
Much like you're also crew there.
It's has a crew actually dedicated to removing the bullshit/drama/etc
For what it's worth, even "I" have been trying to remove it, perfectly knowing it wouldn't and won't happen.
Not trying to cover up, and making rules after rules after rules
That benefit one or two people

Why? This place is quite literally a cesspool of dramatic bullshit.
Always having past issues right there for anyone to see.
That place isn't

Whether people want to go there or not?
That's their choice.

I'm not saying there's neeeever going to be drama
But at least there? 90% of it will be cut
The number may be exaggerated, but it's a very very high chance of dropping it.

Of course if you have a better alternative....

The better alternative is for people to not be asshats.

Changing locations doesn't change the people; it just brings their problems to a new forum. Nothing changes. At all.

As stated, there's plenty of ways to weed it out swiftly in the other.
Most if not all the people here are there.

If it spreads to someone else's guild, they can take care of it.

If it's in the other one? The problem will be dealt with.

There is a significant difference between being stressed over something and just being fed up with it. A forum community is like a social group with its own particularities. If there was drama going on between two members of a group, a gang, whatever you want to call it, of course there is going to be some concern over it. It was not an alarming issue back when the community was bigger, but now that it is narrowed down to the size of an average social group, the concern can only grow bigger, especially when the fear of losing a member dominates.

The problem with this community is that unlike many societies, this community was not able to find a viable way to solve their differences when two members are on opposite sides. In many cultures, they have those structures and bases, which was a way to keep them structured. But that is a particular thing about communities built on the web, the lack of structures and efficient tools can create that and thus explaining why most internet communities are ephemeral. And as much as it pains me to say this considering how I was part of that community as well, I have the feeling that this community is living on borrowed time.

Anthropologist'ed.

Keep in mind that I am not saying those mistakes cannot be fixed. There are still Egyptians and Libyans despite the Arab Spring after all. It just needs its own revolution, which can either be bashful or peaceful. Hopefully it will be the later option, and hopefully the community will only come out stronger of this identity crisis.
