This is something new I'm trying for the duration of the "Legendary" contest-thing-whatever-it-is-to-you in EWA. I started this as a simple hype promo, and it quickly spiraled into something much more. I took out the elements of "The scene did this, the camera was pointed here" because I felt that for a piece like this, I couldn't make you see what I saw. You would see what you wanted to see, I really only provided the imagery. I really drew on my storytelling skills that I've adapted to outside of our community, mainly from what I've learned on WoW. It's a bit more descriptive, but leaves enough to where you can view it as you want to, without me trying to force perspective down your throat. After all, when you and I listen to a song, we don't always see the same picture with it, right?
I'm hoping to do something similar to this in every stage up until the end of the contest-thing. Win or lose, I'll be making a short series out of this, basically. I don't think anyone's done a "theatrical" promo before, and I was really skeptical on how this would be perceived. But, it is what it is.
Questions, comments, concerns, and general input would be greatly appreciated. I write promos all the time these days (at least one every card for BBW), and while I occasionally ask Chrono or King if they think something is good, for the most part I don't give a damn how it's perceived. But this is something completely new to my style on here and I wanted to see how others felt about it.
Those that I briefly portrayed in the promo, I didn't do this out of any means of disrespect or an attempt to trash you, in fact I feel like I aimed for the exact opposite. I aimed to portray your character how I felt you would, and kinda how I've perceived them. I know there wasn't -a lot- of mention of most characters, but I thank you for not killing me for using them. I think the funnest one to use was Major, btw. I will be using more characters with more in-depth roles as this goes on. It'll more likely be those that I face along the way in this tournament-contest. I'll stop rambling now; your input would be greatly appreciated.
