This is a private RP for Nisshou H's Tauriel. This is a character study so it is likely to be uninteresting to read. I'm just trying to get the hang of writing her.

The moon was scarcely visible in the night sky, a waxing sliver of a crescent, as Tauriel slipped silently out of the secluded grove that was her home. She left the sounds of merry-making behind her in favor of quieter locale. There would be plenty of time left for enjoyment later, for now she wanted to be away from her people. It was easy for the cerycorn mare to leave at least relatively unnoticed. As the captain of the guard her fellows were used to her comings and goings and few ever questioned her brief disappearances. Still, she kept her ears trained for the sounds of hoof steps apart from her own. When the sounds of laughter and song had faded away behind her Tauriel allowed herself to relax. A smile danced across her face and she quickened her pace, no one was coming for her this evening, she was free to go walking wherever she pleased and she knew exactly where she wanted to venture to tonight.

Tauriel's hooves flew over the ground never once misplacing a step. Old leaves blew up behind her but for all of her haste she made practically no more sound than if she were walking. She had walked this path many times in her youth and she would continue to do so forever more. This was her path into the night sky.
Tauriel turned sharply between a pair of trees so narrow that anyone with even the slightest more bulk would have found themselves hopelessly stuck. For Tauriel such an action was easy. Moving through the forest deftly and silently came naturally to the mare and she loved every second of it. She bounded over a set of bushes that concealed a winding path. This she followed until she came to a large moss covered stone. Tauriel hopped onto the rock and then to another that appeared as though it were out of reach, Tauriel new better. She landed easily and continued leaping from rock to rock to boulder until she found herself at the top of a large stone outcropping. Standing in just the right spot left Tauriel's head and neck clear above the thick canopy of trees that she lived in. Standing there Tauriel found herself in the stars.

For ages Tauriel stood still on that boulder simply staring up at the stars. Stars that stretched out endlessly over the forest and far beyond it. If she could have Tauriel would have continued climbing on forever just to walk out into them and see what they could see. She couldn't though. She could only climb so far out of her forest before she would have to return. Tauriel smiled up at the stars one last time before lowering her head and climbing her way back out of the rocks. They all loved the stars but Tauriel believed she was the only one to go walking out to the sky and so she never told. Someone would have noticed her strange absence by now and would come looking shortly. She had no doubt her people would be able to track her, they were all quite skilled at it, and Tauriel did not wish for them to find her path into the sky.
Tauriel followed the same path that she had taken to the stones back to her home in the trees. After all, they would stop tracking if they found what they were seeking. Before long she encountered a few that were indeed looking at her. She did not need to fashion any excuse beyond wanting to take a walk in the woods. Tauriel led the way back and was pleased, now, to hear the laughter that came to her ears. This place in the trees was where she belonged even if there were times when all she wanted was to dance in the stars.
