The ring the lights went out, leaving everyone in the dark. Literally. Slowly My Demons by Starset began to play and blue and purple lights began to flash as the crowd waited. Faster and faster the lights flashed. Somebody was going to have a stroke for sure at this rate! Mayday! Mayday! The ship is slowly sinking They think I'm crazy but they don't know the feeling They're all around me, Circling like vultures They wanna break me and wash away my colors Wash away my colors
Take me high and I'll sing Oh you make everything okay (okay, okay) We are one in the same Oh you take all of the pain away (away, away) Save me if I become My demons
Suddenly laser lights flashed and rotated during the entrance, never staying in one spot for long. Matt slowly walked out onto the stage and crouched down. His face and body paint glowing in the black light. He was at center stage when the music picked up and Matt suddenly jumped up to his feet and fireworks shot up and out towards the ring! The lights went back to normal and Matt made his way down the ramp, refusing to stare at nothing but the empty ring. "Ladies and Gentlemen, From Washington D.C. ......The Suicidal Devil.........MATT DRAAAAAAAAAAVEN!" Upon making it down to ring side, the EWA crowd at a fever pitch for the up coming contest, Matt and walked up the steel steps. However, once he got to the top he paused. Without so much as a smirk, he hopped to the floor and walked around the ring, making rather rude gestures and yelling at those in the front row Much to their dismay! Anyways, after making that trip all the way around the ring, he slid into the ring and quickly got up to his feet. He then sprinted across the ring and jumped up onto the second turn buckle, where he threw his arms out wildly before bringing his hands up with his signature hand gesture. He then climbed down and repeated the taunt at each of the corners before standing in the corner. Where he waited his would be opponent.

the lights go out completely in the arena as the opening chords of Down with the Sickness hit the PA.
Oh wah ah ah ah!
Flames burst up from the turnbuckles and the lights come back on, revealing Jarel standing in the ring as the crowd erupts in cheers. The Dragon's eyes are locked on Draven and his hand is already tied into his end of the strap. It's been years since the Dragon has been in such a match but it's right up his alley. at this point, the referee is scrambling over to Matt to attempt to secure his wrist as well. Jarel is clearly ready to begin

If the "Dragon" had thought that old trick was going to get into his head, well Matt was certainly going to be teaching that old dog some new tricks. In fact, Matt kept his face utterly impassive as the referee fumbled with the strap. Until he yanked the strap out of the referee's hands and shoved him back. With eyes as cold as ice, Matt fastened his end of the strap onto his wrist as he kept his eyes locked on the much larger Jarel. The referee, who had recovered from the shove far easier then from Jarel's entrance, called for the bell and this Close Quarters match was underway!

Jarel moves forward immediately after the bell. He didn't do what he did to get into Draven's head. Draven is not his primary target. He's just the guy across the ring from the Dragon tonight. Clearly, chasing the smaller and faster man would not be wise. Instead, Jarel intends to use the strap to his advantage, attempting to give it a sudden yank to pull Matt towards him, then go for an early clothesline

Reacting more then thinking as he was pulled forward, Matt ducked underneath that massive arm, gathering up about two feet of strap in the process. Which he folded in half. He then attempted to swing around and slam the strap across Jarel's face if he turned around, or his lower back if he did not. With only a ten foot range, running about wasn't exactly the grandest of ideas.

Jarel does indeed turn, and reaches his arm up to catch the strap before it strikes him across the face. As he does so, he attempts to kick Matt in the gut to double him over

Jarel caught the strap with the greatest of ease, and Matt ended up taking a hard kick to the stomach for his efforts. The smaller man doubled over and stumbled a couple steps away, his arms covering his stomach as he coughed several times. Yep, this was already going like most people thought it was going to go.

Jarel takes a bit of the strap and moves after Matt, attempting to wrap it around his neck. however, a blatant choke isn't good enough. Instead, he would attempt to use the strap to toss Matt over the top rope and hang him from it. It's really nothing personal against Matt, outside of a match Jarel might actually like and respect him. But something has come over the number one contender lately.....

Jarel wrapped the strap around his throat, and Matt's survival instinct roared to life! Sadly he wasn't able to do anything because he was quickly sent over the top rope! Where he struggled and fought for air as the Dragon was literally hanging him out to dry!

the crowd is a bit silent. They've seen Jarel ruthless and destructive before. They've even watched him hang a guy or seven from the Dragon symbol. They are still a bit shocked at his behavior towards Matt, and the referee begs Jarel to let go.
He does, though only to attempt to bring Matt back into the ring and slam him to the mat

It really was looking bleak and miserable for the returning young man. Jarel finally let go and Matt had a chance to breathe. That is until the guy decided to bring him back into the ring, in a most unpleasant way. Though truth be told it was probably far more pleasant then it could have been. Draven was dragged up up over the top rope, and slammed down like a sack of potatoes, the strap still wrapped around his neck.

Jarel's mind is racing, thinking of the best way to handle the match with the limited movement both comptitors are bound to have compared to normal. He elects to kneel next to Matt and attempt to lock him into a Dragon Sleeper

Despite being brutally choked, Matt's survival instinct was alive and well! It had to be in order to try this anyway! With Jarel kneeling down, and him trying to grab his arm and neck, Matt lased out and attempted to plant a had kick to Jarel's unprotected temple! Hopefully it would catch the man by surprise long enough for Matt to catch his breath. Key word being "hopefully" here.

Jarel is caught with the kick, releasing matt for this moment in time and rising to his full height again as he takes a step back
