Here soldiers are told to come clean the cannons and check them to make sure they are still ok to run. If titans come near Wall Sina it is instructed that the soldiers shoot them with the cannons on top of Wall Sina as a last wall defense for Humanity. On top of each wall are these cannons with the track all over the top of the wall. Soldiers may also come up here to chat and hang out while doing maintenance work as long as the work gets done.

Elin DeraWhat am I missing? The Lieutenant of the Military Police paused, looking up at the sky. It looked...much closer from here. She tried to remind herself of her older brother, whose hair was like the clouds, and had eyes like the sky. She found herself searching for his name. Yellow eyes squinted. The more she tried, the more the name evaded her grip, until she decided to stop. The frustration had become too much for her, and trying harder wasn't helping to jog her memory. If only there were someone else, here. People seemed more successful with someone to rely upon, but she did not have that luxury. Elin needed to search for information, but she also needed to pace herself.
And so, she stood there, arms folded, staring with a cross expression at the sky.

[Wren Harbinger] It wasn't particularly unusual for Wren to be drawn to the wall. She'd been asked by one of the higher ups in her division to keep on her toes if she was going out wandering the way she did. Of course, she'd lowered her eyes and agreed halfheartedly to the man. She couldn't have helped it, her mind separated from her in a way when she went out for a walk. It wouldn't have been her fault if she bumped into anyone. Anyway, it wasn't like there was any real danger so long as she was in the city, and above ground at that. She'd seen the underground city, and didn't care to return there so long as it was her choice.
How long she had been walking, she wasn't sure. Her ankles were starting to ache as they usually did, so she fixated her gaze frontward and did her best to ignore it. Anything was better than going back to her empty bedroom.
Just as she pulled her eyes upward, the brunette caught a glimpse of another figure, standing about 5 meters away and seemingly glaring up at the sky. She could just vaguely make out the insignia on the girl's arm. 'What would an MP be doing up here alone like that?' She mused, faltering her pace somewhat.
As she approached, the girl didn't seem to notice and Wren cleared her throat audibly to make her presence known. She cast her eyes upwards as the other was doing and focused on the smudgy greyness of the overhead clouds.
"Looking for something in particular?" She asked sheepishly.
If this girl was anything like the others in the Military Police, she'd stick her nose up at the retort and trot the other way like they always did. However, something in the girl's amber colored eyes gave Wren the feeling she wasn't another crone sent out to bully the trainees and waste time getting drunk from dawn to dusk. 'Who is this girl?' she thought, letting her eyes fall from the sky back to the petite redhead standing next to her.

Elin DeraWhat am I missing?
The ginger's nose wrinkled, light flashing off her now partially unsheathed dagger. And with a quiet snarl, one would swear that she were a wild animal, not a member of any soldier's group. Honey eyes turned to the intruder, her slender jaw eventually following with a turning of her neck, feral eyes staring down the girl, but also seeming to look behind her.
Elin exhaled, taking her hand off the dagger. "A member of the Survey Corps is no enemy of mine. Apologies." it seemed like a burden to speak in formalities, her hair tied up a bit too tight. The foxy young woman that was not much more than a girl shifted her weight from hip to hip, looking scornfully to Wren. "That depends...how long have you been a part of the Survey Corps?" her look was intense. But Elin wanted to know what this young lady up on the wall had faced.

[Wren Harbinger] The girl's scowl startled her at first, but as her face softened, Wren's thoughts stuck suddenly on the image of her younger brother, Alec. 'If you leave, you'll get hurt!' he had shouted at her, bearing that same furious look the day she'd told her family she was to join the Training Corps.
She swallowed anxiously and cast her eyes past the other, peering off at the distant silhouette of wall rose just as she had back during those days.
As the slightly shorter redheaded girl shifted her stance and addressed her, she nodded curtly in response. "You're a Lieutenant," she said, eying the patch on the girl's breast pocket. She straightened her back and brought her fist up to her chest in salute. "Sorry to have startled you, ma'am."
"Well," Wren cleared her throat which had become slightly dry with nervousness, dropping her arm back to her side.
"Long enough to not favor talking about it," she began, reaching up to fumble with the crystal dangling around her neck. "Five years give or take a couple of months if my memory remains intact." Her sharp green eyes fell to gaze at the toes of her boots. "I've been on 7 expeditions."
She charted each memory of passing through the gate in her mind, tallying each of which she had gone into with a little less strength and bravery.
She hoped the officer wouldn't see the respite in her expression.

Elin DeraWhat am I missing?
Elin clasped her hands behind her back. She nodded slightly, absorbing her words with particularly intense eyes. A pale hand patted her shoulder briefly, and the young woman saluted her swiftly. "You are far more brave than I am. All I've been able to do recently was to make sure that a wealthy weaponry manufacturer would be able to donate some of his cutting-edge technology to the corps." pun intended.
"Before I tell you what I'm looking for, however, I would like to know your name."

[Wren Harbinger] The officer's glowering eyes and pale skin brought Wren's thoughts once again to her younger sibling and she had to shake the thought before her stomach started to turn.
"Oh," Wren started, nodding again. "Wren Harbinger." She offered her thin, slightly trembling hand for the other girl to shake. "Rear Guard defense squadron." She added, out of habit. Her bangs fell over her eye and she reached with her other hand to push them back out of her face. Her ankles were starting to throb again, and she silently cursed herself for not paying more mind to her physical state. She was a soldier, for god's sake.
"And you are?"

Elin DeraWhat am I missing?
The redhead's expression softened, and she shook Wren's hand firmly. "I'm Elin." she held up the one-wing charm hanging around her neck. "I personally loathe the system we're in, so you ought to cast your presumptions of the MP. I'm hardly one of 'em." she let a little informality slip out as an affirmation. "You may recognize this necklace. I see it just about every night when I've fallen asleep. I can't claim to have seen a titan, truly...but I watch one devour my older brother, Alec. Just about every night. I am Lieutenant Elin Dera of the Military Police, though I doubt that I'll be able to keep my title if I keep digging for the past of my brother and myself. I feel that he may have mentioned you to me. He 'disappeared' one day, you see. I think I saw him get eaten. I believe in the Scouts...but I have yet to be brave."
She just poured it out, letting her humanity show. The young woman acted mature, but it was clear that she was more than fed up with her role.

[Wren Harbinger] Wren pulled the cuff of her jacket up and showed the other girl the intricate tattoo adorning the skin there, deeply shaded blue and grey feathered wings wrapping around to the top of her wrist. "An image I feel represents the both of us, then." She smiled. "I appreciate your words about the Legion. It isn't often enough I hear anyone say positive things about the Scouts." She unfolded her sleeve and gestured to the edge of the wall.
"Robyn was friends with a boy named Alec, I believe. I spent most of my time away from home, so I didn't know many of his friends.." she trailed off. "I understand feeling the need to understand your past, however, and I'm flattered that you'd confide this in me." She offered the girl another smile.
"Would you mind sitting down with me while we talk?" She asked, lifting her left foot back and stretching her ankle either way before switching and doing the same with the other. "Bad landing a few months ago left my ankles a bit weak," she said softly, laughing at her own demure.

Elin DeraWhat am I missing?
Did Elin ever appreciate that tattoo. Not only was it probably painful, but also a show of dedication. Before her family had been eradicated, she had been told not to bother with such things. However, curiosity always seemed to get the best of her in such matters.
This time, the ginger opted to return the smile, just a little. "I've learned that people you tell secrets are either scum that you can quiet, or worthy people who will keep them. Something I learned the hard way a couple of times underground." she gave a mischievous smirk before sitting elegantly on the wall, patting the paved space next to her. "I don't bite hard, mostly. If we are gonna get in trouble, we might as well enjoy it while it lasts."

[Wren Harbinger] The small smile Elen had given in return made Wren relieved in the way that she was afraid she was imposing on the young woman before. "I'm dangerously honest with others, I fear," she chimed, following her acquaintance and sitting with one leg dangling over the edge of the wall, the other pulled against her chest with her arms wrapped around it.
The height made her feel very comfortable, and she leaned back slightly, looking out over the fields below them. "I'm glad to have someone to talk to for once, truth be told," she sighed. "If one of the Garrison officers tells us to get to work we'll just make a run for it." She giggled, somewhat surprised at her own joke. It had been a long time since she'd really laughed, it seemed.
She reached beneath her jacket and un-tucked her shirt, pulling her small notepad from it's place tucked in her leather waistcoat. She opened it, flipping a few pages to a sketch she had done several years ago of Robyn. He was sitting in profile view on the ledge of the roof of their home, similar to the position in which the two girls sat now.
"Do you recognize him at all?" she asked, turning her eyes to study Elin's face timidly.

She exhaled and looked outward. "I have to agree. Heretics and ex-heretics haven't exactly made the best company. And the captain's so quiet...conversations hold little water with him." Elin sighed, messing around with what little hair was left out of her up-do. She found herself chuckling a little. "It's been awhile since I've had to run from a soldier. Though I could also pull rank on them, probably. Ahh, an actual use for the title."
Golden eyes looked over the picture, leaning closer to the dark-haired woman to get a look at it. Her brow furrowed. "I...I feel that I do." the lieutenant put a hand to her forehead. "Hurts. It's like my brain doesn't want to remember."

[Wren Harbinger] Wren flipped ahead to a blank page and removed the pencil from the spiral binding of the notebook. The sun was going to be setting soon, but it was still bright enough to draw.
"He died when the last disease outbreak happened, along with our mother." She said solemnly, placing the notebook against her knee and beginning to sketch an outline. "I was old enough to work in the fields, but I felt so surrounded by death that I couldn't stand to stay in the city and live like a caged beast," she shuddered slightly. "I wanted flight."
She glanced sideways through her long fringe and studied Elin's features once more before returning her attention to the drawing, which was developing into the shape of the girl sitting beside her.
An air of concern grasped the brunette as the other expressed pain. "Are you alright?" she asked, digging the small canteen of water out of her bag. "Here," she added, offering it to the other. "Don't strain yourself."

Elin DeraWhat am I missing?
"Apologies. My parents died when I was little. All three of them, 'missing' people. So much death..." she rubbed her temples. "After Alec disappeared, I managed to survive on the streets for awhile until people figured out that I belonged under the city. Many just don't care about what happens as long as they can go about their daily freakin' routine."
Elin took the container gratefully. "Thanks." she gulped some down as if it were alcohol, capable of clearing her mind of all thought and letting her just be loose. Of course, it was water, not a beer. The fox-like young woman passed back the canteen back to her new bird-like companion. "I was told stories about how I must've made up an imaginary story about my family, or that the truth was too jarring so my brain shut all those memories away. I don't know what to believe, but I don't think those people were right. However, I have yet to come up with a better idea of who they were. Fortunately, Alec had eyes that matched the midday sky, and hair like the clouds." Dera looked to the brunette.
